frosbel: You missed the point again !!you are the one getting it wrong. no one is pushing personal responsibilities to government. if the leaders have no roles to play and be held accountable and responsibile for the positions they hold then where is the leadership? indeed it is the duty of the leaders to lead by example; then the followers would follow their footsteps. the leader would just not say "i can not do well because i don't have good followers" it doesn't make sense. a leader would not say "i am not performing because the damage had been done by my predecessors" it doesn't make sense. it is the duty of a leader to make things right, even where he found them wrong. so NO EXCUSE FOR NIGERIAN LEADERS WHO ARE CORRUPT AND EXPECT A DISCIPLINED FOLLOWERSHIP; i'm sorry you can't get it like that. |
BlackPikiN: How can it be the worst when you had Obj's regime?i think @ BlackPikiN got it all wrong. VERY WRONG!!. We are not talking of the number of deaths; not number of plane crashes. we are speaking on administration. POOR ADMINISTRATION; MALADMINISTRATION, WEAK ADMINISTRATION, UNFOCUSED ADMINISTRATION, CORRUPTION RIDDEN ADMINISTRATION. even in number of deaths this administration is notorious; performing 'better' than any other, checkout. |
henryskywalker2003: To all of you saying congratulations, you guys are still living in the 18th century else can you tell me how that fishing boat looks like a warship to any of you (Beaf and cohorts). For your information Warships are categorized in the following 7 categories, Aircraft carrier, Cruiser, Destroyer, Frigate, Corvette, Submarine, and Amphibious assault ships. I will include pics of the 7 categories to let you guys help me classify where that "fishing boat" falls under. Warship my foot, even pirates have better boats than that. Mscheeeeeew. But on a serious note, that looks more like a patrol boat than anything else. What are you saying? how many of these pictures will come to nigeria's rescue in terms of aggression? it is what we own that is ours; and we should be proud of it (except the disappointments of jonathan (gej) and his ilk). as americans are proud of their machines, so we should be proud of ours. that's their level; this is ours! simple. no hard feelings. |
fm7070: I thank everyone who has contributed to this thread in a mature way.Thank you too. this is that kind of post that makes sense. it is timely and educative. we should not just be keeping quite on some things; we need to put issues into perspective. bravo. |
tpia@:Abiola won the election in the north mainly because of two reasons: 1) most of north is progressives, courtesy of late mallam Aminu Kano and his discilpes Balarabe musa, late Abubakar Rimi, late Dr. Bala Usman, etc. and 2) he ran a muslim-muslim ticket with Babagana Kingibe; recall that Abiola was a staunch financier of islam and muslim atrocities in nigeria. |
jcross19: what ever u sow,u reap.he betrayed awolowo, defraud the nation in 70's that was how he became rich,a drug baron that was the closeness btw him and ibb.a man that was trying to islamised nigeria if he become president but God messed him up.abiola never in any sense fought 4 democracy or masses.people loved him because he threw money arround.poor nigerians,he was trying to buy nigerians.please guy,the death of abiola was victory to poor masses.what else can one say? all these happened before our very eyes. |
okosodo: Mko died because he wanted to be president. He did not die for anybody. The truth should be toldGBAM ! The whole truth; and nothing but the truth |
Beaf: This is a very nice development indeed! Up Nigeria!just read what you posted; uncivilized thoughts, barbaric language; an excited fool! i advise that you conquer your foolishness first. |
gonzaga: THOSE LOUSY NAIRALANDERS THAT NEVER SEE ANYTHING GOOD WITH GEJ/NIGERIA ARE NOT MAKING ANY COMMENT AT THE MOMENT. SHAME ON YOU ALL! I KNOW WITH TIME GEJ WILL MAKE US PROUD. ALL ATTEMPT TO DISCREDIT, AND PRESENT GEJ AS INCOMPETENT WILL CERTAINLY FAIL.This project started about five (5) years ago at NN dockyard in V/I Lagos. it would have been completed in 2010 but Yaradua fell sick and the then vice president was not in charge hence the delay in completing it. the job is now done and will be commissioned; it is now gej's glory, fully attributed to him. if it were corruption and other challenges, then it did not start during gej, it must be attributed to others that were there before him. |
wesley80: Then shout it let them all hear you! Tell them to stop pretending and rather acknowledge OBJ as the greater hero.poor you, wesley80, you don't create a hero by comparing two villains, ok! |
Deep Sight: If we have Obafemi Awolowo University, Tafawa Balewa University, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Ahmadu Bello University. . . and these are all pre-eminent institutions, then it is CLEAR that the principle of naming an eminent Federal Institution after an eminent national hero is not in question. The only question is therefore the eligibility of MKO for such an honour. For that, I will not argue: history speaks: I will only say that any person who thinks MKO does not deserve such an honour is a person who is not fit to breathe the air of democratic liberty that we today SO ungratefully and hypocritically breathe. PEACE!you have swallowed the bait of gej , hook, line and sinker. how simple you are. yours is the most flawed of all logics. to take you on your simplistic way: Obafemi Awolowo, Tafawa Balewa, Nnamdi Azikiwe and Ahmadu Bello were all regional/national leaders and heroes; can you say that of MKO? UNILAG is a big and popular brand that must be handled strategically - with care, thoughtfulness and foresight - so as not to bring down her goodwill capital and value by, senseless simplistic politics. this is not an honour to MKO. if MKO were alive he would protest this daft move by desperate non-performers. |
warrior101: I watched it live ~ I gotta say "nice speech there Mr. President"... Your words were sound and understandable by the comon person...That should be a figment of your imagination, right? keep on wishing! |
LagosShia: a very irresponsible remark unfit for a leader that is how i'd describe this man's comment.the comment also shows that the reverend is as ignorant if not more than boko haram.he needs to find out the meaning of jihad.boko haram, like their wahhabi aka salafist fellows the world over, are ruthless and barbaric even killing their fellow muslims (both sunni and shia muslims).boko haram try to justify their bad and criminal behaviour by bringing religion into it and twisting islamic beliefs.the criminals are doing so,but why should a leader also do the same thing by making inciting speeches based on ignorance? a leader should be enlightened and responsible enough to promote peace, unity and justice.he should not make ignorant speeches that would embolden the criminals and find them sympathizers.now, the ignorant reverend that other ignorant folks also revere has launched a verbal attack that even muslims (in their overwhelming majority in nigeria) who oppose and condemn boko haram would feel bad about.why alienate every muslim and attack his islamic beliefs because boko haram criminals are abusing religion to justify their injustifiable acts? You are a big fool, ok? how dare you insult a man of God for telling the president what false prohets have refused to tell him? who are you to comment on a speech by man of God? can you call sultan abubakar or even your local imam or his utterance 'irresponsible'? do you know the meaning of responsibility? who are you among muslims? do you think christians don't know what islam is and stand for? muslims are always jittery when it comes to truth and facts because they stand and strive on falsehood. if any one is irresponsible it is the so called muslim leaders, beginning with the sultan; for refusing to admit the work of their hands and hearts and minds - their disciples, whom they have all through taught hatred for truth and christians, disrespect for God and His creations, destruction without human feelings. no wonder i can see you are trying to distort the facts of events that are happening right before all to see. repent now or you will go to hell without remedy. |
ZUBY77: we already know that. We just want a solution to that.speak for yourself. if you knew it have you said it? many nigerians, including president goodluck jonathan - based on his actions and utterances, don't seems to know this glaring fact. may be that is why the cleric is telling them point blank; so that they will no longer claim ignorance of the obvious. |
shymmex: Only cowards would respect a thieving, and clueless scum - because they're scared of the repercussion..LET PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN EARN HIS RESPECT; NOT DEMAND IT |
Beaf: Is it not funny how this is about to turn into another ethnic warfare thread? Lol!I see (read) a post from a 'well bred' 'respectful' 'detribalized' 'intellectual' 'civilized' 'matured' 'unperturbed' personality |
Beaf: After some time children outgrow childishness and fools outgrow foolishness; those that won't will be shamed by events.are you insinuating that mischief makers and deceitful people like you will one day outgrow their mischief and deceit? |
jason123: So happy for Anambra state!!!Ha ha ha ! not yet uhuru Fingers crossed. ![]() |
Dis Guy: Any particular reason why NCC is doing its own registration?Pure SCAM!!! we saw it coming just like the FRSC/GEJ number plate - drivers licence registration. |
I wish all these raining curses on buhari heard or read his comment directly; and then attempt to comprehend it. rather, they are reacting to abati's distractive diatribe. why can't this government and her cronies address the issues raised by buhari instead of attacking him and calling him names? how long shall poor nigerians continue to remain docile and timid in the face of flagrant intimidation and human rights abuse by covert thieves in government enjoying stolen mandates? buhari is just drawing attention of those in authority to glaring and impending consequences that love of power has hidden from our maximum rulers; which others can clearly see, but have no guts to discuss, not to talk of addressing. this government should bury her head in shame because with all the resources being spent on the president and his retinue of advisers non of then can see a clear imminent disaster waiting to happen at the slightest opportunity like the general elections and advise appropriately. i think buhari should be given credit for being patriotic enough to speak, knowing full well the insults that will follow from shameless political jobbers like abati et al. we know this insensitive government will throw away the messenger and the message, and when the consequences of her actions and inactions comes to fruition, they will start pointing accusing fingers to the very person(s) that had forewarned them ! too bad. what buhari said will come to pass if those who has the power to avert it continue to play on the insensibilities, lethargy and timidity of majority nigerians. goodluck to you all. |
cogitoErgo: When u have a carcas, all kinds of scavengers will be seen feeding n it!The whole truth and nothing but the truth ![]() |
Demdem: The retardeen simply wont seize to amaze me. The govs earlier supported based on the lies they were poisoned with from Ngozi, Madueke and Sanusi. they were told if they dont support it Nigeria will crash and no additional money to share from federation account.i agree with you on this point totally except the use of the word retardeenwhich i don't quite comprehend the meaning, especially as relates to mr. president. |
miky_mouse: Very safe, Diamond bank or GTBAGREE. I've been using Diamond bank and GTBank internet platforms for the past few years and i have no regrets at all. I've not have any problems with my balances or transactions. |
lastpage: Thank you very much!Well, the issue here is not as simple as you are postulating. we are way ahead of what you are struggling to articulate. we are ruminating on the driver, the motive of this white elephant projects. the president is just been too simplistic and superficial. he is siting these projects in where he perceive as his home. he is a poor politician. the whole of niger delta are singing his praise not minding his unacceptably dismal performance. why only his state and local government and village? he has shown clearly that he is doing it to please his kinsmen and not to develop the country. that is the crux of the matter. if it were for the development of the country, i'm sure no sensible individual will raise an issue. most of these projects the president is locating in his village are duplications of existing ones. for example we have a naval research center in Victoria Island http://www.navdock-wilmotpoint.com/. i was there last year and saw their operations. they are achieving http://www.navdock-wilmotpoint.com/achievement.htm quietly. just like other institutions, they are also facing challenges of funding amongst others. why these duplications when the available ones are not optimally catered for? A naval research institute may be required in Nigeria; but the motive must not be to satisfy the ego of "i did it in my village, local government, state or region". otherwise, its just a waste of scarce resources. |
Omexonomy: is it true or false pleasd be honest and sincereits very true |
Arosa: Do all this Saraki supporters know that he is a thief?YES they know. that is the motivational driver for supporting him; peradventure he sympathizes with them and let a crumb of his loot drop, and a piece of the crumb may trickle down to the lucky ones amongst them, to the envy of the majority sloths |
Danka7777: You are right. They seem to know and get the news even before my people in Nigeria. This baffles me. The other day, Bombs went off in Afganistan and Iraq killing scores, guess what? None of the Major mainstream media carried the news, even if they did, it was only a leaflet on the bottom of the screen. However, that same day there was a bombing in Nigeria, my my my, all of the news jumped on it, even yahoo, like they already knew it would happen, like the news had been prepared before hand to run as soon as the blast went off. My people, this is a propaganda war, for them go to the UN, and make the contention that Muslims are killing Christians, and will need to send UN peacekeeping troops to go there and protect Christians! Nigerians, you guys don't know how the global government, blood suckers of Africans and colored people work. They are behind all these to destabilize Nigeria!Danka7777 you are a big fool! member of boko haram. just like thousands of your members, you will die by the gun/bomb in your hands. explain "propaganda war". who is waring against who? what do you mean by 'make the contention that Muslims are killing Christians'? are you contending that Muslims are not killing Christians? who ever told you that Christians depend on UN Peace keepers for protection? when the war you are courting war breaks out between Christians and Muslims in Nigeria then we shall see who needs UN Peace keepers protection. nonsense fool! |
Jonathan may sack MDAs’ chiefs for distorting 2012 budgetALL TALK AND NO ACTION! |
If there is no better candidate, which is highly likely, i may vote for BUHARI; God willing |
ekt_bear: So there are 3 levels of government in Nigeria.@ ekt_bear there lies your hypocrisy. "there are 3 levels of government in Nigeria"? why didn't you say governments ? which government are you holding responsible for lack of performance in the South?; west, east? don't we have states and local governments in the south? see yourself? see your foolishness? ![]() |
OBJ is just afraid of the uncertainties he will face in the hands of a bold and imposing northern chairman of PDP! that's just it. is he just realizing that he is an international hot cake; or is he just realizing that he have a 'presidential Library' to manage? pls tell this old man to go get other excuses for this humiliated exit. You may recall that he amended the PDP constitution to pave way for his sole candidature of the PDP board of trustee by providing that the post is reserved for a past president under the platform of PDP. now what happens that there is no other 'past president from the PDP'? a recourse to the second fiddle? |
who believes this "story"? its just too sensational. i wish Nlders wait a bit till after five years to make these generous comments. goodluck to anambra state, the south east and nigeria in general. |
