I have been a constant passerby on this thread but never had the time to drop ma own few lines.
Just a lil intro, i'm a trained engineer (like most peeps so be on this forum apart from the likes of TKb and bro jarus) but work as an Information Analyst. I line manage about 4 other analyst so most of my work this days are into strategising team's direction and producing monthly metrics to feed into the overall programme reporting for org.
Started working for this non departmental government body straight outta university (6yrs ago to be precise and i am staring to feel really old).
My day to day routine starts by me getting to work anytime between the hours of 9-10 am, browse the internet for an hour, start attending less meaningfull meetings as they seem to always do in public org's (we are not profit driven so an extremely relaxed working environment), I usually do working lunch anytime between 12-2pm.

I've just decided to test ma programming skills so i have now started working in the analyst programming side of ma org. We currently do alot of querying and quantitative analysis of hospital episode data ([s]i have access to everyone that have visited any NHS hospital in the UK's data[/s]. scary right?). The new role is somewhat challenging as am more used to C++ but now having to learn new language and to understand the data itself.

anywayz, enough of me and i must say this thread is probably one of the few threads where professionals can gather and probably learn from each other. Who knows we might be the ones to change our sleeping nation called Nigeria.
