inagbe1: Good evening everyone, my occupation is available for only state/regional nomination and i am considering either of Tasmania or Southern Australia.Does any of these two regions require POF not proof per say, but require you to make a financial declaration. They might then go ahead to ask you for proof or not. But most cases I have heard never asked for the proof |

yungmin: Thanks for responding. But is this visa same as the sub class 189? The 190 visa differs from the 189 in that you must be nominated by a state and have a moral obligation to reside in such a state for 2years upon arrival in Australia, while the 189 is independent has its name implies and you can choose to live in your most preferred location. But as far as knowledge can serve me they possess similar privileges in term of government support and residency status. |

yungmin: I just saw that a civil engineer was invited through the state NSW with just 55pts. Please, what are the main requirements of this state? any useful link would be very appreciated. Thanks Civil engineering is an occupation in demand but not on prorata due to the sparse volume of applicants on skillselect. Since points are high at the moment and minimum points for invitation is currently at 70, it is in the interest of states to nominate such people at 55points to attract them to the state. Because there is no assurance that someone who can meet 70points to be invited be skillselect will be heading to their state. Maybe just 3 or 4 civil engineers get invited per round. That Mr Eugene weh no gree gimme Professional Civil Engineer outcome for Civil Engineer ehn; but I thank God, He is on my side |

jayooh: Please what can you guys make of DHA's assertion that occupations not on the STSOL are no longer eligible for 489/190/186 as against the immigration legislative instruments for these subclasses (190/489) which carries applicable lists as both MLTSSL & STSOL, with even the new ROL (regional occupation list) included for 489 visa?
This thing is mind boggling

joslight: I already have a positive assessment as a medical laboratory technician.Waiting for AIMS exam outcome to be a laboratory scientist also. This will make me eligible for 190 NSW and 189. I thought has much. You can as well move ahead with the MLT/489 as no one knows what July holds in store, all this their immigration laws changing like flying arrows. Best to have applied for or if possible gotten a Visa before the financial year runs out. |

joslight: @ jayoor please pm me I am floored by this info.I am not able to see my Skillselect coz I am using a MARA Agent due to a complex medical issue(survivor of childhood cancer) I expect to have a positive skills assessment as a MLS soon since I sat AIMS exam and it was not too hard. But MLS is a flagged occupation -- may be off MLTSSL list in July. I will get outcome by mid-May .I will have 70 points 25age, 15 experience ,15 education , Partner 5, IELTS 10. The worst part I turn 40 in October. Jayoor and the whole house please advise. Thank you. Don't be afraid. You could be on point. **but does NT let you get nominated without first having your assessment outcome? |

joslight: It's the same coz I have just sent the declaration you mean I have been celebrating for nothing I was expecting the ITA tomorrow or Monday latest. The same as in? Did you get any message from Skillselect administrator yesterday? Did your status change from submitted to draft or to invited or it remains as submitted. It should change soon to invited though. If it's not an engineering occupation or it its an occupation still on the list, then your celebration have just begun. Sorry about the scare, I guess it's not an engineering occupation. |

DoDirtsLikeWorm: I have this question to ask people; when one enters EOI with 60points under 190 , i believe it will turnout to be 65point because of the added 5point right? Abeg i need answers. YES or NO. Yes u get additional 5 points. But the real question should be how soon will your 65points secure an ITA in your nominated occupation? |

charlie111: I just received a mail on positive assessment outcome from EA, but that's not the news..
News is I studied petroleum engineering and got a positive assessment in chemical engineering. I wrote my CE and CPD with just project work and industrial training. No work experience
I can remember going through this thread from page 1 to end seeking for information on who has been successful in that venture before i applied. I took a risk which rewarded me.
Goodluck to all petroleum engineers who have the fear of getting outcome in Engineering technologist.. You will testify with good news....
Gratitude to everyone who has been helpful here.. I am so happy Great development. Congrats and kudos |

trastar: Long post alert.
So our journey started January Last year.
PTE =20 points (January 2017) ACS =( Feb 2017) 10 years experience reduced to 4. Experience= 5Pts Education 10pts. Age =25. Total =60 pts
Applied for EOI on 04/03/2107 with 60pts (189). 65 points nsw. (190). (Vic was closed)
Of course our point was low and 263111 had already reached its ceiling. However, we were hoping for two things. Getting called in July 2017, when the new list is out, based on we'd have been on the queue for over three months and an increase in our point in Oct (work anniversary).
The first didn't happen..the second did. Still no ITA.
Then I sent @alphadoor an email sometime in Sept..or maybe he sent me an email. Can't really recall.
And he explained how to go about correcting the "injustice" of ACS reducing 11years to 5 years. (Took a lot of convincing and another of my Husband's colleague getting his Aussie Grant for my husband to agree to accessment again. He was already fed up with the whole process. )
Another ACS assesment in October 2017. November 2017- Acs assessment report came out. (Took about 8 weeks. Compared to the 10 days it took in January. That's when I knew, Buhari don dey chase everyone comot). Report =9yrs plus experience given. Hallelujah!
Submitted another EOI in Nov 17 with Vic and updated the other one for NSW and 189. Profile now became -70 points total. 75 for 190.
Age -25 English -20 Education -10 Experience -15.
02 Jan- Victoria invitation to apply for state nomination. 03 Jan-applied. 29Jan -Victoria rejection of state nomination.
02 Feb -NSW invitation to apply for state nomination. 06 Feb -applied. 26th March - ITA Hallelujah.
I was going to wait till Grant to share this but I don't know who the information here might help. Lack of proper information from scratch is what caused us to have gotten the first assessment wrong, paying another 500 aud for assessment and being delayed this long. However, I'm a strong believer in God's timing is never wrong.
I can't thank @Alphadoor enough. I can only pay it forward from time to time by responding to questions here. Thank you @bellong for this thread. Also to everyone who have responded to my plenty questions here when I just joined the thread, thank you.
Keep us in your prayers and I'm praying everyone who is waiting for good news too will share there's soon. Grant fall on us soon. Amen.. Congrats on your ITA. Onto the next one... Howbeit, do you have any idea why Victoria rejected to grant state nomination after inviting you to apply? Actually thought it's almost automatic once you have been invited to apply? |
