Gombs: Who is their common ancestor? joel lala: Am waiting for a reply too...LolAre you asking as an acknowledgement that your question about the monkeys was wrong? |
Ray McBlue: Blindness isn't an anomaly, neither is physically challenged. Hermaphroditus is an anomaly, though. One thing is pretty clear; your mind is closed on this issue. What makes a hermaphrodite an anomaly and blindness normal? What do you expect would be the sexual orientation of a hermaphrodite? Your problem is that you are looking on the outside for defects. If someone is blind or a hermaphrodite or crippled, well that is something you can see with your own eyes so you know that it is not their fault that they were born that way. However you think people make a choice to be gay. Maybe so and most of those who choose are bi-sexuals. On the other hand there are people that are born gay but you refuse to accept because you dont see any physical anomaly. You prefer to give it a label (immorality, perversion, mental illness etc) so you can pass yourself off as better in some way. Im sure you know guys who act girlish and have always been that way. Or girls who act all boyish and can rough it out with most boys any day. Just because a girl is a tomboy will not make her a lesbian but she may have been close to it. Now from the little I understand, there are many processes involved from conception to birth. The mother of the child passes hormones to the child which influence the childs personality. Im not sure of the numbers but there ought to be some sort of balance between testosterone and estrogen. The more testosterone the fetus receives, the more male like it will be. The more estrogen the fetus receives, the more female like it will be. Consider then, the scenario whereby a female fetus doesnt receive her balance. Consider she receives less estrogen and more testosterone. Depending on the ratio, she could turn out to be a tomboy, might grow hair on her arms, chest, chin, sideburns etc or she could become a lesbian. Same thing applies in the reverse for the male fetus that receives more estrogen than testosterone. You might get a girly guy, hairless guy or a guy attracted to men. Obviously, some of these things particularly the ones dealing with hair could be hereditary. The point I am trying to convey is that these things are processes that go on inside the womb and do not leave any physical trace unlike blind and crippled people etc. Therefore because you cant see any physical abnormality, you think that they have a choice in who they are. I hope I can get you to reconsider. Most people have a distaste for homosexuality mainly because of years of indoctrination. We were brought up to feel revulsion for these folks but that is because of reasons I have pointed out and a key factor is that they are something of a minority. Remember when blacks where looked upon with disgust? Seen as less intelligent than others? Even Obadiah says black skin is a curse from God. Hatred against gay people comes from multiple sources many of which overlap, religion and ignorance being in my opinion the prime causes. Now let me say here that what I have written is not my personal research but it is a combination of things I have read and my own personal thoughts. The bottom line is that there are chemical processes that go on in the womb that determine what is delivered, be it blind, dumb, physically challenged, hermaphrodite, "normal", gay or 1mbecile. Some of these have physical evidence and some dont. Therefore when you rail against gays so much and unleash such hateful vituperation against them, you just have to be hopeful that your child doesnt turn out to be gay. If he should, just know that he probably had no choice in the matter. |
^^ Intelligence is not in knowing everything or having vast knowledge. Intelligence is practical and demonstrable. Your question about monkeys is off because humans are not said to have evolved from monkeys, they are said to have had a common ancestor. |
^^^ I too would ask what Ihedinobi would say about full time ministers. |
aManFromMars: Mr. Jay.. na me o. muskeetoI know bro, I know ![]() |
aManFromMars: @2nd bolded: then we could as well do away with other so-called anomalies in nature: twins, octuplets, siamese twins, etc...Blind people too, cripples as well, hermaphrodites, Caster Semenya and that dude that used to be a girl who played for falcons but later did a se.x change operation. |
I wonder where you get these notions from tobechi20: One, the Atheist has no idea what is actually in the Christians heart. How you can make that statement baffles me. As to the first theory, the Atheist often sees the Christian as an enemy naturally.Another baffling statement. If a Christian knows that someone is not walking with Jesus Christ, then it is their duty to tell them the good news. If you question this theory, then let me give you an example that might bring it clear. Its not your duty to harass anyone with your gospel. Do you like it when mtn and other networks spam your phone with unsolicited texts and calls trying to market one product or the other? |
Uyi Iredia: Hmmn. This article is full of misinformation. Let's grant that evolution is a fact and theory too.It seems you used to argue against evolution sometime ago. Do you now take it as fact? |
quivah: not anymore....Please clarify for me Do you a) Accept that you are an atheist b) Insist that you are agnostic c) Other. |
quivah: ...i'm an Agnostic,No, you are an atheist but you prefer to call yourself agnostic. |
italo: You only know things when you have empirical evidence for them?Yes. Basically, the difference between knowing and believing! |
RationalDude: I'll answer this if you can explain why god stopped existing when I stopped believing. Come to think of it, if for some odd reason, all humans stopped believing in god, god would cease to exist. From the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy |
crazygod: Damn this guy actually predicted a black US president and niggas jst made fun of him.Where? If I recall, he said something about not being ready to have a black president (Changes) life goes on feat janet jackson,Sure this is 'Pac we are talking about? |
omotayokay: The guy or his parents have sinned and they are reaping the fruits of their sins. Nevertheless, it maybe that the works of God be made manifest through him. Except he be healed, the guy can do but nothing when it comes to serving God hence, after his stay here on Earth, I hope God gives him another chance. If not, he will be judge according to the works of his previous life! Are you happy now? HumbledbYGrace: Can you elaborate this?As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. John 9: 1-3 In other words, to show off |
tobechi74: Atheist are not saying God doesnt exist. They are only saying they dontItalo and Ray McBlue, tobechi has said it (with a minor modification of mine). There are indeed atheists who say that there is no God but that is not the defining feature of atheism. |
Tyche: There is a correlation between real life and NL life and this is not lost on any keen observer. That was uncalled for. She has apologized to you. What more do you want? texanomaly: Well...I guess you told me.Ignore him jare. |
F00028: there isn't any.But atheism is not necessarily saying that God does not exist. |
Uyi Iredia: . . . I've dropped calling atheism a religion . . .How come? |
F00028: both are people of FAITH!What is proof of atheism? |
Enigma: Let me also add one dimension.A new level of grace ? |
OLAADEGBU: The key to knowing God’s will is willingness and determination to follow it before knowing it.Spot the contradiction in the above. |
The ignorance on these type of threads is staggering. People prefer to blame or believe in demons/devils than look for what is actually causing these things. Funny enough, tell them the same crap from another religion and they will laugh it away. Since we are into comedy on this thread, here are some similar but equally ridiculous stories. http://www.cracked.com/article_18814_the-7-most-ridiculous-ghost-stories-from-around-world.html |
@A-town I dont know what you do, but when you get to a VP level of a corporation, you wont have the time to visit Nairaland everyday.
Maybe so, but whenever you do visit, you can exchange contact info to enable you carry out the simple tests to shut us doubters up. You just wasted a valuable opportunity here. How do you expect to be taken seriously Mr VP level of a corporation? Your words below
I know this write up will follow with several comments and questions - I cant wait
|
aManFromMars: And The Bible says 'atheists are fools'.. Then goes on to say ''And the lord commended the unrighteous steward that he did prudently, because the sons of this age are more prudent than the sons of the light, in respect to their generation.""QFT ! |
Seun: If you are honest with yourself, you will realise that you've never really witnessed a miracle in a context where the facts could be verified. This is because the vast majority of so-called miracles are hoaxes.Which brings me to a very important point. To ask for an explanation of a miracle, it has to be shown that what happened indeed was a miracle. To paraphrase Seun, all reports of miracles are hearsay. People simply term as miracles that which they cannot explain. It has to be shown that miracles happen before asking for an explanation. A similar question is "if you dont believe in a creator, how were you created" ? |
georgecso: Maku appealed to the ASUU to have a rethink on its demands and understand that there were many competing demands from other sectors. What about the huge funds used to sustain the luxurious lives of our legislators and their cronies ? |
Funny how people shy away when you state you are ready to debunk myths.....Yet they expect us to just believe....lies
Yup. You even offered to fly to meet him. |
Yield: That's great! But at 5, he should be running around at a park somewhere, doing what 5 year olds do: play.If the child showed a natural interest in planes or some sort of activity, I wouldnt mind so much. Apparently, the father is now living out some sort of fantasy through this kid. I hope he doesnt turn out to be a dysfunctional wonder due to deprivation of a natural childhood. |
Elxandre: I wrote clearly that you are not asked to question the existence of miracles. you are asked to explain how they occur. You do know that if there is an explanation, it probably cant count as a miracle dont you? |
= I believe in evolution because of textbooks and professors claiming it fact based on observations/biases by fellow human from back in the day. Esp. our own saint Charles Darwin a well known known racist.
I have said it before on this forum but it bears repeating. I do not believe in evolution. I do hold though that is far more plausible than the coc.k and bull stories religion will have us swallow. Why? Simple. Its science. For it to qualify as science, it has to be open. You can question it and attempt to replicate the results for yourself. The method is shown.Whenever in doubt, if you have the resources, you can verify for yourself. This is unlike religion. Go figure. |
If we go by the story, it would seem Adam "tried" out with other animals before he realised that it wasnt going to work. |
scaler345: Written by the deity? This shows how much you know about your religion and its history. What religion? You misunderstood my post. Read again. |
