phemmyfour:But right now, it is the same coach. (Ancelotti) Even the Ronaldo you mentioned was caged throughout the game. It was only Di-maria that was a constant threat to the ATM defence. |
phemmyfour:But you know it is most likely to fail especially when it is just a one goal advantage. ATM did it against Madrid in 2014 and it failed in the 94th minute or thereabout. Even that of Villarreal failed because Bayern eventually equalised but for chukwueze. Switching to all defence because of a one goal lead is not always a wise decision especially when you know how potent your opposition is. |
phemmyfour:With just one goal up, It will be foolish to defend against this Madrid side that has many world class players that can create goals out of half chances. CFC will invite a hell of pressure on themselves and will most likely be punished. They adopted the same style against Mancity this season and they lost both home and away. But last season that they attacked, you could see they beat city 3 times consecutively. |
Android22:Yeah, we beat them under Zidane but Ancelotti is in charge now. He seems to know how to get the best out of these players and also knows some tweaks. Chelsea made a mess of this team last season and if not for their wasteful finishing, they could have beaten Madrid by 5 or more goals. But now, even when they are not in full control, they still manage to ship in the goals out of nowhere. See their performance against a Star studded PSG and now Chelsea, I think it will be difficult to stop this Madrid side. |
garfield1:Lol, and one interesting thing about him is that he knows how to make his defender to lose track of him because of his great sense of positioning. He just appears out of nowhere and then bang! Even the likes of T.Silver and Rudiger couldn't Keep up. That winning goal from him just shows how good he is. The way he guided the ball into the net made the ever reliable Rudiger to lose his footing and fell to the ground. Mendy was also wrong footed and couldn't adjust on time. Honestly the dude is a genius. He studies your body position/orientation and within a split second, he decides the best place to put the ball. |
garfield1:Oga, there's really nothing special about Chelsea's defence when compared with that of Mancity. Infact statistically, Mancity have a better defence than Chelsea. You can visit the official premier League website and check their stats. City have more clean sheets and have conceded less goals. Looking at their records in previous seasons also shows city have a better defence. Their match against Madrid is 50/50 and unpredictable. Remember the last time they met, City knocked them out even with the presence of Ramos. It ended 4-2 on aggregate, Madrid were thoroughly beaten. |
NobleSeed:What do you mean by saying he was still attacking Madrid? You want him to stop attacking when Madrid were still leading on aggregate or when they were levelled on aggregate at 2 nill.? Assuming Alonso's goal was counted, they would have stopped attacking and switched to defending. |
Slynation:Yeah this is quite easy to say. But Ancelotti has made this Madrid team very difficult to predict with his tactics. Honestly before the Chelsea game, I didn't give them a chance after their lacklustre display against PSG but he still managed to knock out the star studded side and now they have also gotten rid of the defending champions. As things stand, Madrid has an edge over city. City doesn't have a good defence like Chelsea so they will really struggle to contain the likes of Benzema, Vinicius, Valverde etc and Modric with his world class passes that destroyed Chelsea's impenetrable defence. |
caprini1:Really? So why are they 3rd on the league table? If you talk about defence nobody will argue with you that they are the best in England but interms of creativity and potency at scoring goals they cannot compete with the likes of Mancity and Liverpool. |
It seems Ancelotti has solved the puzzle of unlocking this Chelsea's defence. With what we have seen from the first and second leg, i think Chelsea are not so good at dealing with aerial balls in their 18 yard box. Four out of the five goals they conceded were aerial balls. But to execute this type of plan you need a very good crosser and a master finisher like Benzema who is good in the air and positioning. |
awoo10:Any prediction for tonight's match? |
justiniyke29:Don't mind the Xiaomi marketer. I have a Samsung with just 1.5GB RAM and it can keep multiple apps in the background without refreshing. |
Kobojunkie:Are you married? If you are not then lets have your feedback 1yr after tying the knot. |
Kobojunkie:People will always marry out of curiosity or parental and peer pressure. But a vast majority of them end up regretting it. Most married men and women you see are tired of their marriage, they are just enduring it. |
ecolime:31 years old to rediscover his mojo? |
luwiizy:No player ? i guess you are referring to the current crop of Arsenal players. |
Sampike:I own one and I can authoritatively tell you that Everything about it is trash. The ram management is poor, it cannot even keep a single app in the background without refreshing. The phone lags and hangs. The 5000mah battery is also a scam as it doesn't last long at all. If you are a heavy user, it wont last for a day. |
Omenapounds:All those guys you mentioned ( jorginho, kante mount and pulisic) all had a bad game tonight. Even the almighty kante was subbed. You are using their performance against last season Madrid to judge. They have a new coach now who is a tactical genius and you can see the wonders he is performing. If you watched their game against PSG, you will see that PSG were far more better but were beaten tactically. This man knows how to grind out results even when his team are not playing well and such winnings are referred to as tactical victories. |
BabaIbo:Forget turbulence, we all watched the game and could see that Chelsea played the way they normally play. Tuchel was shouting and ordering instructions as usual but they were outdone by Benzema's brilliance and Ancelotti's Tactical genius. Or was it also the turbulence that made Mendy fumble with the ball in the opening seconds of the second half? |
awoo10:Respect boss. I never saw it coming. But how come you were able to get the exact score line? was it just pure guess work or some kind of diabolism? Even the greatest football pundits could not have come up with such a prediction. But all the same, we have to give Kudos to Ancelotti for his tactical masterclass. Chelsea were completely neutralised and made to look ordinary. Since Tuchel took over I have never seen a team handled Chelsea like the way Madrid did tonight. They were completely outclassed. |
This is a dream that can never come to pass as long as Muslims are still well represented in politics. They will shut down the idea. |
Ikem11:Rushing home to meet your wife? That means she is probably a full house wife and that is a big liability. Apart from that, you will eventually get bored of the excitement. And if you are married to a toxic woman, then going home after work becomes unpleasant for you. |
fergie001:Forget that thing. If Ronaldo was still at Madrid, Benzema will never take the centre stage. See the case of Ronaldinho and Messi at Barca. We all knew Messi carried something special but it was until Ronaldinho left the stage before he became full blown. You need to understand that these guys (Ronaldinho, Messi, Ronaldo etc) are Megastars and unless age catches up with them or they get plagued by injuries, no player in the world can play with them in the same team and overshadow them. And peradventure you have a multitalented squad, one player will still stand out above the rest. That is how life is. |
fergie001:No spirit entered him. Ronaldo's star simply outshined him, he was their focal point and all the players were feeding him with the ball to bang in the goals. Even Benzema would rather pass to him then to do the finishing. |
donforeign:Presently. |
reader29:That's great. |
Babaalajo:9t is notorious for deadboot. I am sure the nigga that sold it to you knew about this and wanted to get rid of it quickly before it happens to him too. |
