JBCMOTIVE was at the event where the Marketing Manager - Mr. Karim Monier and the Brand Manager - Mr. Tamer Abdullah took turns on the podium to reveal and inform guests present of the new model to the MG family - just like in a typical British fashion when the name of a newly born Royal is being announced.

The Morris Garage 5 (MG5) is a 'C' segment sedan with the looks of a 'B' segment, it comes in two variants - the base and full option, with the full option having the latest technological features found in the premium cars segment but yet, surprisingly affordable.

The exciting new MG5 sedan is a progressive and contemporary model that draws on the famed history of the brand to offer the utmost in driving pleasure. Style knows no bounds in the new MG5. A number of features ensure that this latest model has real kerb appeal, with the bold looks of the bodywork ensuring it cuts a refined figure out on the road. Take, for example, the flowing roofline, which present a dynamic aesthetic, ensuring the vehicle is distinctive and memorable. The sporty tail lights, LED daytime running lamps, and projector headlamps, meanwhile, provide exceptional visibility and help you be seen by other road users. And, with an electric sunroof opening up to the elements, the model will feel cavernous. Top all this off with a selection of exterior colour options and there’s no doubt new MG5 stands apart from the crowd.

Stepping inside the MG5 unveils a cabin space that has been carefully and intelligently crafted to provide an indulgent and harmonious driving environment. From 29 smart storage solutions located throughout the cabin and a generous 512-litre boot, to a choice of leather and fabric upholstery, MG has crafted the model to deliver the utmost quality. First off, great content.

secondly, highlights blown out! what was the producer thinking?

Today I cooked Nigerian jollof and went to the streets of Saint Petersburg, Russia to find out what Russians think of this popular Nigerian cuisine.

Many Russians don't know anything about Nigeria or Africa in general so I decided to use this opportunity to introduce them to our most popular cuisine.

Majority of them loved it but their only complain was how spicy it is. The small pepper I used was apparently to hot for them hahhahaa grin

And this video is what some Russians think about Nigerian jollof rice please watch, like and subscribe to Afro Rossiya TV for more interesting cultural exchange between Russia, Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Please suggest in this thread if you have any ideas of social experiments you'd like me to try in Russia.

Preventive maintenance isn't rocket science Sir.

Its cheaper than corrective measure. Atlease people don't have to die in hundreds b4 you investigate and find out that eroding tarmac is the cause of the mishap.

If you don't service your car after 3- 6 months, it becomes a death trap.

Its evident why soo many things are at different stages of decay in our country.. zero to no maintenance culture/ lack of continuity, no accountability and so forth.

Obviously, the quote "a stitch in time saves 9 " wasn't quoted by an African. I'll end here.

You misunderstood my quote.

Exactly what I was discussing with my colleagues today.

In Nigerian, Potholes and avoidable accidents are the only indicators that the runways need fixing.

On the other hand, greed won't allow the airline coys carry out any meaningful repairs...

Zero maintenance culture. Everything is patch and go till the inevitable happen.

@stallion2019 meaningful maintenance before meaningful repairs. Their culture? 'If it isn't broken why fix it?'

The BMW Z models are a line of roadsters manufactured by German automaker BMW. The Z stands for zukunft (German for future), and has been produced in four different series with five generations consisting of roadster, coupé, sports car, and concept variants.

The introduction of the M Coupé and M Roadster in the Z3 line marked the first of the Z series to have a high-performance BMW M variant. The first generation Z4 also continued to offer M Coupé and M Roadster vehicles, before being discontinued in the third generation E89 Z4.

The G29 Z4 is the third and current generation Z4 and was unveiled at AlFardan Premium Automobiles in Doha Qatar on the 14th of february, 2019 after its launch in August, 2018 at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, California. It reuses the soft-top convertible roof found on the E85 Z4 instead of a retractable hardtop. The G29 Z4 also shares its platform with the fifth generation Toyota Supra.

To say the least, the Z4 is an irresistible force embodying everything a roadster should be. It comes in six colours - Mediterranean Blue, San Francisco Red, Mineral white metallic, Glacier Silver metallic, Black sapphire metallic and Alpine white.
Under the hood of the Z4 is a more powerful 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Twin-power Turbo engine, available for the first time in the All-New BMW Z4 Roadster, delivers an increase of 15hp and an impressive 35 lb-ft of torque over the previous model. The All-New BMW Z4 is built with a wider stance, near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution, and exquisite aerodynamics. Dual chrome tailpipes put the finishing touch on BMW's latest dream machine.

Truth be told, I root all my android devices after their first year with me. Although I agree to an extent with the OP on certain flaws with rooting, but, it all depends on your motive for rooting. Apart from being a partner to an app dev company, I still use the Galaxy Note 5, yes, and people expect to see the NOte 9 in my hands and can't believe I'm still on 5. The reason is, it saves me money. Knowing that these phone manufacturers have devised means of taking my money every year with releasing a new phone, and me having a oragsm for new gadgets, I now partner and build custom roms that had the look and feel of Oreo and Pie with no need waiting for a late update or getting a new phone.

Root your phone with your head and not being swayed by trying to impress friends.

The BMW 8-Series Coupe dubbed “the gentleman’s racer” cheesy is a dream car with outstanding performance, sportiveness design, state-of-the-art luxury and class leading advancement in lighting, display and technology – both with driving assistance and connectivity. As was evident with driving and design, the primary development objective for the new BMW 8-Series Coupe was breathtaking driving dynamics. The Body, powertrain and suspension has been tuned to achieve the supreme agility, precision and poise expected of a top-class sports car. To achieve these, remarkably powerful engines were combined with the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system and BMW Efficient carbon core measures.

The exterior design is a craft of beautifully blended sporting appeal with an emotional allure resulting in a focused clarity, modern, and charming look.
At first glance, the dramatic design of the front apron, the large air intakes which denotes the M sport package and the seemingly military precision contours of the bonnet are a few that catches your eyes all giving the BMW M850i xDrive a daring lower presence on the road. ‘The 8’ comes as standard with LED headlights that are of all things sexy and enticing, shocked the best on any of their brand till date. BMW Laser light as seen on this tester, with variable road illumination and Selective Beam is optionally available. Blue accents inside the trademark twin headlights give away the presence of the highly advanced lighting technology.
The rear end is also composed of sculptural, emotive surfaces that emphasise the car's width and low centre of gravity. The slender all-LED rear light clusters that extend deep into the flanks add to this effect while also emphasising the wide shoulders. Twin exhaust tailpipes with a trapezoidal contour are positioned either side of the rear apron's lower section.

The seamless transition between the instrument panel and door trim is made even smoother by the coordinated surface textures and a careful choice of materials. The fulled leather trim for the instrument panel and door shoulders is standard on the new BMW 8-Series Coupe. The electroplated surfaces of the side air vent surrounds and the accent strips in the vicinity of the door openers likewise provide visual unity.
The car's wide centre console, which rises up towards the instrument panel at the front, clearly separating the driver and front passenger areas. This is where the audio control unit and its function buttons, the air conditioning control panel with its block of buttons, the displays and central air vents for the air conditioning, as well as the freestanding and frameless Control Display are arranged above each other in a clear, horizontally partitioned structure.
The optional glass applications for selected controls add both visual and tactile highlights to the interior design.

Autos / Why The Bmw 8 Series Is The Only Coupe You Should Get. - Jbcmotive by Jbcmotive(m): 1:51pm On Dec 16, 2018

Broadly, the 8 Series replaces the 6 Series. But it gets a new number because it’s grander than that. Also, the number 6 now resides on the rump of a big practical hatchback, the 6 Series Gran Turismo.

Really though, in the traditional and proper sense of the term, a Gran Turismo isn’t a bulky five-door, it’s a swish-looking coupe. That’s to say the 8 Series.

Repeating the history of the old 6 Series, the 8 launches with petrol and diesel two-door coupes, and then the range gets populated by convertibles, and four-door Gran Coupes.

There will be an M8 version of each of those bodies. Lick your lips.

Outside, the 8 Series coupe wears the stentorian new face of BMW, more angular and big-grilled than ever – though the grille has active shutters and is actually blanked off most of the time for drag reasons, opening only when the engine gets sweaty at low speed. The sides are sculpted and chiselled and the rear shoulders broad. The roof can optionally be specced in carbonfibre, and it has a double-bubble section. It tapers downwards almost from the top of the windscreen.

Fine elements in themselves. But to our eyes the bulky nose and tail deny it the grace of some rivals. Still, you can’t argue with the drama of those low, wide, broad-shouldered proportions.

Underneath, BMW has thrown its best tech at it. The M8 will get the mighty M V8, but for the moment there’s a ‘ordinary’ V8 that makes a slightly extraordinary 530bhp. The other option is the 840d, a 3.0-litre six.

Whatever the engine, all wheels are both driven and steered as standard, and the damping is adaptive. For good measure the test M850i had optional active anti-roll too. All four of those systems alter their thresholds in harmony as you switch to the sport modes.

The body contains carbon fibre as well as aluminium and steel – it’s related to the multi-material 7 Series. Even so, overall weight hovers around 1,900kg for the V8 version.

BMW says this is a sports car, but to us it looks like a GT. There’s no shame in that. Pity the new 6 Series has burgled those initials though.

Anyway, in the past the number 8 has meant a big deal for a BMW. The 850CSi and Z8 became cherished. The i8 surely will too. But looking at the new 8 Series, and especially peering into its 3 Series-alike cabin, we wonder if it’s distinctive enough from the rest of the BMW range. Let’s see if there’s much distinction in how it acts.

Crime / Re: Nigerian Army Has Committed War Crimes Against Humanity, Says ICC by Jbcmotive(m): 5:31am On Dec 11, 2018
The US and 'most' of their allies are not bound by the ICC. The United States is not a State Party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (Rome Statute), which founded the International Criminal Court (ICC) in 2002 as a permanent international criminal court to "bring to justice the perpetrators of the worst crimes known to humankind – war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide", when national courts are unable or unwilling to do so.

The states parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court are those sovereign states that have ratified, or have otherwise become party to, the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

As of November 2016, 124 states are members of the Court. Other states that have not become parties to the Rome Statute include India, Indonesia, and China. On May 6, 2002, the United States, in a position shared with Israel and Sudan, having previously signed the Rome Statute formally withdrew its signature and indicated that it did not intend to ratify the agreement.

I wonder why ICC only find third world leaders and military guilty of war crimes.

The Bush family and Tony Blair did a lot bad to humanity in Iraq and Afghanistan, yet nobody has been called to book.

Obama and other Western leaders are responsible for the chaos in Libya and Syria today yet no one is talking about them.

It's like there is a different rule book for the Western leaders.

I have never seen any Western leader charged for war crimes yet we can see their negative impact everywhere.

While I believe third world leaders are to be checked, I am totally against the hypocrisy in global politics. undecided

Autos / The Bentley Bentayga Mulliner Edition W12 - The Best Of Luxury SUV - JBCMOTIVE by Jbcmotive(m): 11:44am On Nov 27, 2018
The Bentley Bentayga Mulliner is the ultimate expression of the world’s most luxurious SUV. Developed and created by Mulliner, it takes Bentayga to another level through the exquisite craftsmanship for which Mulliner, Bentley’s very own personal commissioning division, is renowned. Every detail has been considered, every idea developed and refined to be the best of the best. - Pls share this post to a car lover

Produced in limited numbers, Bentayga Mulliner is the definition of exclusive luxury. For this limited edition SUV, Mulliner’s experts have selected the finest features and options available, so you will be one of the privileged few to enjoy the pinnacle of Bentley design, craftsmanship and luxury.

Bringing Mulliner’s exclusive car design skills to the fore, it is the breadth of subtle details and wide choice of unique opportunities to personalise that elevate Bentayga Mulliner to pinnacle standards.

Bentayga Mulliner delivers presence from every angle, starting with Mulliner 22" Paragon wheels with Floating Wheel Centres. LED Welcome Lamps make entering the car at night a special occasion, with signature Bentley wings beamed onto the ground to illuminate the scene. The effect is completed by Mulliner Illuminated Tread Plates in both front and rear cabin areas.

Inside, Bentayga Mulliner is the pinnacle of craftsmanship and luxury. The four-seat Comfort Specification with rear centre console is the ultimate statement of luxury design. This is immediately evident in the two individual rear seats, which adjust in 18 different ways, and include massage and ventilation functions.

The cabin waist rails, fascia panels and console are finished with a new Ombré Burr Walnut veneer. This sophisticated finish transitions seamlessly from Piano Black stain in the front cabin to Burr Walnut in the rear.

A Mulliner handcrafted duo-tone colour split offers seven Mulliner selected colour options, blending traditional and contemporary design language. Each features a main and secondary hide with matching stitching that is complemented by the unique two-colour accent stitching to the quilting.

These include Bamboo featuring warm Newmarket Tan and Linen hides with Mandarin, Linen and Newmarket Tan contrast stitching; Monsoon brings together indulgent Portland and Damson hides with Dragonfly, Portland and Damson contrast stitching; and Flare combines rich Hotspur and Beluga hides with contrast stitching in White, Beluga and Hotspur.

For an added touch of comfort there are two soft Mulliner cushions in Alcantara, finished with contrast piping and accent-coloured embroidery, colour-matched to the rear cabin.

Bentley technology is designed to enhance the user experience rather than overpower it. This is never truer than in Bentayga Mulliner, where you’ll find the pinnacle of luxury does not compromise technology.

State-of-the-art developments are evident everywhere, from intuitive driver safety systems to advanced connectivity that adds to your enjoyment. Bentayga Mulliner features more than ten driver assistance systems for urban driving, longer distance touring and robust off-roading. These include City Braking & Pedestrian Warning and Head-up Display (where key information is projected onto your windscreen). Also featured are Night Vision (which recognises animals and people), Blind Spot Assist, Exit Warning and Traffic Sign Recognition.

The Naim for Bentley audio system takes in-car music playback to another level, immersing you in sound. Driven by a 1,920 watt 21-channel amplifier, it is the most powerful audio system available in an SUV. The twenty speakers include nine combined mid-range and tweeters, four advanced bass speakers and a 300 watt sub-woofer. A pair of super tweeters extends the high frequencies, giving the system the widest frequency range ever experienced in a car, all as standard.

Bentayga Mulliner features the same impressive levels of performance as Bentayga, both on and off road. These are the fastest, most exhilarating production SUVs in the world, with a top speed of 187 mph (301 km/h).

The Bentley W12 petrol engine with variable displacement takes you from 0 to 60 mph in 4.0 secs (0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 secs) and on to a top speed of 187 mph (301 km/h). But Bentley’s attitude to performance goes far beyond speed. From the elevated driving position, you’ll experience more power and torque than any other car in its class, on or off-road. Bentayga Mulliner delivers a smooth and even distribution of power, combined with an impressive 900 Nm (664 lb ft.) of torque.

As a result, this pinnacle SUV achieves the perfect balance of performance and efficiency, without compromise."

Car Talk / The GAC Trumpchi GS8 - The Chinese Brand With Quality by Jbcmotive(m): 7:35pm On Sep 09, 2018

Since we are borrowing cash from China, we better talk about this.

The parent company GAC Group has been building around 750,000 cars a year on behalf of world-class brands such as Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, Isuzu and Fiat. This vast ocean of technical knowledge and expertise has led to the birth of a brand in itself which is now known as GAC Motor. These vehicles are built to the same rigorous standards of quality which are synonymous with their other brands, but also utilize components from reputable international suppliers such as Bosch, Continental and Denso. Every vehicle in the range has been awarded a 5-star rating in the C-NCAP test ratings, which provides every driver with the confidence that both the Passive and Active safety features are beyond question. The quality of these cars and the value for money offered has to be experienced to be believed.

The Trumpchi GS8 is a mid-size SUV with third-row seats. It’s powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 which is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system.

Another potential model is the Trumpchi GS7 small SUV which was shown in January at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. At the time, GAC said it was hopeful of starting sales in the U.S. by 2018 after obtaining certification for its vehicles as well as establishing a network of dealerships.

Expect more Chinese automakers to follow the lead of GAC. The New York Times reports that the Chinese government is looking to reduce the current restrictions on cars imported into China, in preparation for an export push for cars made locally. The move is to prevent other countries from accusing China of unfair policies.

What a country where oppression and abuse of power are flaunted in total disrespect in every manner inhumane. This goes to show the mediocre calibre of leaders we currently have as a nation.

Travel / Re: Things You Should Never Buy At The Airport by Jbcmotive(m): 5:55am On Jul 21, 2018
There’s an amazing feeling of freedom in being able to fly to your chosen destination. But the time you spend in an airport is anything but free. What you do not know is that your stay at that airport can be expensive if you make the mistake of buying any of these items shared by Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency, while you’re there.

While waiting at the airport lounge you may exhaust your data. You turn to the airport Wi-Fi to continue your browsing. However, you have to pay for it. If this is the case, do not. First off, the Wifi is slow and overpriced.

If you’ve decided you can pass up the airport Wi-Fi, then perhaps you’ll be open to passing up the opportunity to impulse-purchase electronics from those overpriced airport kiosks, even those little items like chargers and headsets you may have forgotten to pack. Electronics purchased at the airport will cost you significantly more than if you had bought them ahead of time.

Foreign currency

It’s probably one of the last things you’ll think about when planning a trip, but don’t exchange your money for foreign currency at the airport. It’s well-known that travellers are arriving unprepared, and given the lack of competition among currency exchange booths at the airport, those booths tend to charge high fees and far from the best exchange rates. You should wait until you arrive at your destination and take out money from an ATM there.

Whatever Over The Counter medications you think you might need for your trip, don’t buy them at the airport because the prices are always inflated as compared to what you’d pay outside the airport. Try your best to plan ahead, and have what you need on hand in your carry-on.

Whatever you do, don’t buy souvenirs at the airport. There is a high markup on souvenirs at the airport. So plan ahead, and purchase souvenirs at your destination, rather than while in transit.

Air travel can dehydrate you, among other physical side effects, but know that you do not need to buy water at the airport. Instead, you should keep a water bottle with on you. Since you can’t have liquids during a security check, you just pack an empty bottle water in your carry on. This way, you can just fill it up whenever you can.

Obviously, this OP has never travelled out of Nigeria and in so doing generalised this statement.
Get this right pls, it is only in Nigeria where there is no govt regulation that this thread applies to. In most international airports around the world, WIFI is free, Foreign currency sale and medicine are strictly regulated. Others might be priced differently but not overboard as described by the OP.

OP travel and see.
