christejames: 1. The First building is the World Trade Centre, a complex of five skyscrapers just after the national stadium. Currently, two buildings are completed on the complex with about three more under constructions, but the construction is currently stalled, maybe due to cash crunch affecting everybody.
2. This one is the headquarters of the Nigerian Communications Commission. Sorry o no vex but why are there light bulb on the road? It doesn’t make sense to me putting light bulb on motorways |
Christianity Etc › Re: My 8 Year Old Son's Debate With A 7yr Old Atheist by Jbleenk: 8:09pm On Dec 13, 2021 |
ratiken: If this is your true definition of atheism, then neither you nor your son is anywhere near smart. You have some more learning to do.
Atheism is too diversified to fit into a simple spectrum. Most atheist agree that there is a force behind creation and everything surrounding our existence but do not agree with the narrative or attempts by religious organisations to fit or describe that force to the bible or Koran definition of God.
As a Christian, you really and truly believe that the Christian God will throw all non-christians to hell even when they had no role to play in being born into non-christian homes.... and that means all moslems, buddhist, traditionalists etc and even our African fore fathers who died before Christianity came
How does this make sense to any sane mind? It just don’t make sense. How gullible can people get. I was gonna school him on this topic but i can see you and a lot more people have done just that already. But religion, being what it is, an opium which cannot be sedated except the user is willing to see things objectively has done its damage already. |

Tetehjewels: Not interested. We have seen a family where father and mother are doctors and they have 6 kids and 4 of those kids chose medicine while the other two chose something entirely unrelated to medicine so your argument is void These thingS have no basis for comparison. How can you juxtapose professions with religion? You are taken to church or mosque as the case may be all your life, indoctrinating an uncritical religious system in you where what u think does not matter, you are comparing that with a schooling system where you have a certain degree of allowance to choose you profession. No basis for comparing. When I get home I will eleborate on this religion and paste here I will only hope u read it objectively. Let me get home. Nigerians need some schooling on this |

Tetehjewels: Well my Dad was a smoker and a social drinker but I have never smoked or drank in my life.
My wife was born into a family where her mom was a fish monger while her Dad was a news man but she grew up becoming a Banker.
Does this nullify your argument? No not at all, it doesn’t come close. Religion can be used as a means of control, a weapon, a means of stripping you of your identity. It even goes deeper than that if u understand it. If we start this discussion it won’t end today and I don’t have the luxury of time. You can reach out to me and I will take my time and school you on this. |

I'm about to sponsor my cousin for post studies I would have concentrated on acquiring professional certifications instead. I thought masters from a university in Uk will be in high demand. But the craze has dwindled by the time I came back to home. My case shouldn’t stop you from sponsoring your cousin tho. |

Tetehjewels: My Son is super smart and at 8 has already been given double promotion twice in school. The 1st one he got was in the 2nd term of that year and he was only able to join the new class in their 3rd term yet he still came first and the school thought it necessary to move him again. So he is now in a class with kids 3yrs older than he is and already besting them too.
We are a very God loving family and even though I have never sat my son down to talk to him about God, I do ensure he goes to Church with me and joins me in my daily morning devotions. I do notice that he has an extremely inquisitive mind and would rather watch educational channels on DStv than cartoons especially since they stopped showing his best cartoon "Goku"
So we have this neighbour who is from Greece. His 7 yr old son and my son can be considered best of friends and they visit each other at will. So on this day he came to visit and while they were hanging out I suddenly heard them arguing from his room. Normally their arguments would be over a video game or something else but this one was interesting. They were arguing about God!
I stood by the door and listened. Apparently that day revealed to me that my neighbour is an atheist but I never knew and he has been indoctrinating his 7yr old son along those lines because I clearly heard the boy say to my Son, "God does not exist, he is just a story"
So here is the convo
Him: God is not real, He does not exist, He is just a story
My Son: Ethan what did you say?
Him: God is not real, He is just like Santa who also isn't real
My Son: How do you know he isn't real?
Him: Well my dad said he isn't real because he just isn't. Have you seen him?
My Son: So your dad says God isn't real because he hasn't seen him? So something isn't real because you can't see it? But what about feeling Him?
Him: Feelings are not something we can um um fully determine because they can be misleading
My Son: How can you say Feelings are misleading, you are my friend right? (He goes yeah?) So how are you sure you are my friend if your feelings can be misleading. Can you say your feelings misled you into being my friend?
Him: No that's not what I was trying to say
My Son cuts him off with a sharp tone: So if your feelings did not mislead you into being my friend how then do feelings mislead you?
Him: Have you felt God before?
My Son: No but I do know that I think about him a lot
Him: umm umm but How would you possibly be thinking about something that does not exist
My Son: Exactly Ethan!
At this point I step into the room and cheerfully say Okay guys playtime is over (because I needed to stop the argument and get my Son to study by asking his friend to go home)
However his final comment "Exactly Ethan" resonated with me and made me think that comment was actually directed at Ethan's dad and not Ethan because apparently he had been talking about the non existence of God to his Son A LOT!
So how do you constantly talk or think about Something or Someone that doesn't exist?

Career › Re: Which Business Can I Do Online That Will Increase ₦150k To ₦500k Within 6 Months by Jbleenk: 4:00pm On Dec 13, 2021 |
Favinzo: Good day everyone!
So I completed my secondary school education in 2018, and I'll be starting college next year, to study Computer Engineering. My dad had bought me a laptop in 2017, when I was still in secondary school, but it started having issues about a year later and my dad spent a lot of money (about 50k) for repairs alone. He then gave up on the laptop and decided he would get me a new one soon. But it's been two years plus, and he is yet to give me a new one, because of some projects he has at hand.
Before the laptop started having issues, I had mastered everything, from typing fluently to operating the basic softwares such as Ms word, excel, PowerPoint, etc. After I completed my high school education, I started working in the church media unit, and in no time, I was the most preferred media personnel when it comes to scripture projecting, prayer points typing and more.
On July 17th this year, a man favoured me and gave me 160k to get myself a laptop. Since there are only mid-tier laptops at that price range, I decided that I'll keep the money, till when I raise about 200k extra to get a good laptop for 250k, capable of 3d animation which I desire to learn, and to also get myself a secondary monitor, mobile hotspot and a camera to start a YouTube Channel.
I've kept the money for about six months now. It's still intact because it's with my mom. But since it'll take time to save to that amount in order to add and buy the laptop, I have decided to invest the money in any business that will make me at least a 500k under six months. Is there any business that I can venture into?
I would really prefer online businesses that can be done with a mobile phone because of my health issues. But any business idea would still be appreciated!
Thanks! Mr. Go invest in crypto and thank me later. |

Wot happens if the school chose the way of appeal? The order will only be written after the the appeal period elapse. Even If they appeal and lose u still don’t need their consent to debit their account. My point basically is u don’t need anybody’s consent to cash out on a garnished account. |

Odewaleadesoye: But will they pay him? There’s something called court garnishee order. Once pronounced against an institution, company or government establishment, u don’t need the consent or authorization of whom it’s written against before u present it to a bank for the account to be debited. It’s an order from the court and must be honored. |

I didn’t expect this to make front page but as it has I have to state something very important.
I’m a Nigerian from the southwest region. I never believed in one Nigeria until I read a post on YouTube authored by a non Nigerian based in America. She seem so proud of Nigeria more than I am and mentioned how much Nigeria is well recognized and help put Africa in the world map than any other African country and how she wade off bullies once she mention and lie that she’s from Nigeria.
By and large, I think we will be greater and more recognized if we remain one. We need find way to settle our differences and make this country great.
Here’s the link to the video she commented on. Look for Valarie Kinging’s comment. I hope u get inspired from reading her comment like I did.
God bless Nigeria. God bless Africa. |

I would say in the long run I haven’t had any regrets. But recounting, my early days in Nigeria was full of struggle. At a point I had to make do with 60k salary per month even though I’m a master degree holder from a university in Uk.
But I had fun and made a lot of connects then. Now, I’m a lot more financially stable. So generally I wouldn’t say the move was regrettable. |
