Travel / Re: Lagosians Running Traffic Lights Right In Front Of Police; Disgusting! by Jbleenk: 11:19am On Feb 02, 2021
VaselineCrew:
Yesterday in Lekki, I saw upwards of 10 cars running a certain RED light at around Jakande area while I was waiting my light to turn GREEN.

What made this especially painful is that there was a squad of police right besides the traffic light. What were they doing? They were just sitting down and gisting on their pickup.

Can you imagine? In what other country will people run red lights right in front of police and the police will just be laughing with Ak47s in their hands? and it wasn't just one car, but multiple cars totally disregarding their RED lights.

Are we so primitive that we are now totally averse to Law and Order in this land? That the police won't even make an attempt to maintain traffic rules unless at their own convenience? Unless traffic is at a standstill via checkpoints? is that they only time police would do traffic work?

Imagine how dangerous it is to be driving with confidence because the light in front of you has turned GREEN, not knowing that a MANIAC is about to smash into you because he ran his RED light and worse still police doesn't give a flying fvk

I would have taken a picture and posted here, it was such a disgusting sight as some of the cars that ran red lights drove right past the police squad.

How can we have such a useless police squad that can't even GIVE CHASE? What good is a police squad if all they do is park their car at a junction and gist inside?

What good is that?

Oh my Nigeria...

God helps us!

What exactly do you expect the police to do? Chase after them? How long with they keep chasing after cars and people that break the law? Like I’ve always said, the system Nigeria is working on is flawed and unworkable.

Reason people in other countries maintain law and order is because they know they can easily be traced if they float and law. They have a workable database of everything within their boundaries. Cars can easily be traced to a particular individual, individuals can easily be traced to a particular address. I would say the process of tracing traffic offenders is, if I’m not mistaking, 80% automated. Easily put, the system is working perfectly.

What’s stopping the govt in putting mechanisms in place to forestall occurrences like you mentioned? We have leaders who are bereaved of ideas period.

Don’t blame the police blame the people in government. I once wrote to the state government, giving them ideas and solution that will put a total stop to issues like this and install orderliness but nothing was done about it.

Politics / Re: How Christmas Was Celebrated In GOMBE by Jbleenk: 10:04am On Dec 26, 2020
CircleOfWilis:
In the spirit of celebrating Christmas, Christian faithfuls within Gombe state capital paid a visit to the emir of Gombe on Christmas day to demonstrate their happiness and peaceful coexistence in Gombe. They matched through the streets singing songs of praise and worship to Jesus...

God bless Gombe state
God bless Nigeria.

They’ve brought the attention of this lovely peaceful state to the blood sucking politicians and Boko Haram members. You watch how Gombe will start burning.

Valenciabaddie:
Hi Guys ..
I need serious matured advice . I have been dating this guy for about a year now ,
When I met him he was jobless but living comfortable due to his parents wealth ,.
I'm 25 and he's 3 years older than me , my problem is that he's too spiritual , he always have bad dreams and because of this he is always going to a celestial church and this makes him bring fetish things home like candles and substances in white container ..

I go to a Pentecostal church but I still continue the relationship and also follow him to his church sometimes.. but lately he brought this black soap home which smells bad and to make matters worse he always wake up at a specific time at night .To have the bath ..

M feeling uncomfortable with him and im beginning to lose interest in him due to these because I don't believe in all this fetish things .What do u guys think ? I'm I overreacting?

Op, there absolutely nothing wrong in doing spiritual bath. If u are very spiritual (not religious), u will understand this practice transcends religious domination, race culture etc.

Read in a post on nl how a site where JESUS did spiritual baths was discovered.

There are loads of bible verses that talked about spiritual bath. Eg Leviticus 14: 8-9.

With that being said, as regard ur man’s ritualistic bath, I personally see absolutely nothing wrong with it.

However if you are concerned or suspicious about his way of life - you have a good reason to be cause kids nowadays do anything to make money - discuss it with him and if your guts is not entirely okay with his explanations, I’d suggest you do the needful. Remember they say “Guts don’t lie.” Be instinctive before making a decision on this. At the end of the day, no mater what people say, the call is yours to make.

Blossomfirst:
Hello Nairaland; I am Destine with my instagram handle as https://www.instagram.com/o.l.a.e.d.o_
I am in my 20s and I reside in Portharcourt, Nigeria though I studied in Enugu. I took it upon myself to travel to every single state in Nigeria; and though I am yet to achieve this dream, I am getting closer to achieving my dream. I have been to these states;

Lagos
Abuja
Niger
Bayelsa
Abia
Delta
Ebonyi
Edo
Nasarawa
Imo
Rivers (winks)
Kogi
Anambra.

I have been to Benin Republic too! I look forward to travel to the far north; plans are still underway grin grin

I detail my journeys on my various experiences travelling across the breadth and length of Nigeria and one thing I have discovered is that though we are from various tribes in Nigeria, we are all pretty much the same. I have learnt to respect the opinions, belief and culture of the people I meet. Trust me, you have no idea how fun this country can be!

Check out my pictures and enjoy the scenery of the country we call home!

You cannot initiate sex under influence of alcohol. Definitely, you were not under influence of alcohol. She was.

Stop saying what u don’t know for sure. I need to state it that before we even engage in sex we talked and laughed we each other for at least half an hour. So I’m saying with all intent that there was no case of rape.

You are guilty of the act bcus from your post the lady wouldn't have consented to it if she's in her normal senses. You decided to take her for clubbing inorder to get her drunk and take advantage of her.
Mr Man, u are very guilty and it's a deliberate act from you, stop giving excuses of getting drunk. You planned it and it went smoothly as u planned.

It’s left for u as the lawyer to present proof that it was pre planned. Your word against mine I suppose. I maintain a clear stance that I was drunk and wouldn’t have engaged in sex with her if not.

Yes, that was rape. She was under the influence of alcohol, hence, not capable of giving a valid consent at that point in time. You can't now say that the sex was consensual. You took advantage of her at her weakest point. This would be my argument if I am representing the lady.

Mind u I said the sex wouldn’t have happened if we were in our right senses. I was under the influence, too. Isn’t that a valid argument on my part?

Crime / Lawyers In The House, Am I Guilty Of Rape In This Situation? by Jbleenk: 7:40am On Nov 14, 2020
2yrs ago, a youth corper served in a company I managed. One Friday evening we both went out clubbing with 2 of my friends.

There were lots to drink and lots of dancing and body contact. It was fun and at the end of the night we both were under the influence quite obviously. One thing led to the other and we both had sex that night. I’m sure this wouldn’t have happened if we were in our right senses.

However, it happened and it was consensual, as in, no persuasion, no force we both wanted it and we both had it albeit under the influence nonetheless, although I initiated it.

Days later she grew wings and became nonchalant with her duties and I wasn’t gonna take any of that then she started threatening to report me to her ZI of taking advantage of her. I called her bluff and asked if I raped her.

Long story short I had to send her away for insubordination and nonchalant to duties.

My question here is: in light of the build up before we had sex that night, can I be done for for rape? Just watching my back just in case she came out in future accusing me of rape.

I need answers from lawyers, please.

U obviously do not understand symbolism. More often than not it’s a sing of good luck. This is not a case of African superstitious beliefs. The western world believes this too, at least in uk.

I personally seeing human feces in my dream is a sign a substantial amount of money is coming my way very soon. This is always the case before any substantial amount come my way. I don’t believe in coincidences. What happened to the op might not necessarily be a coincidence.
