Franking: I lived in SA for six years. It is usually said there that when a Xhosa girl gets a Nigerian boyfriend she calls home (Eastern Cape) to tell them she's gotten a job. SA guys no send their girls for transport money or hair money or any money for that matter.
Naija guys take care of their women. That's the difference. Wow, this is funny |

sukkot: alright let's do the math on your lying friend. 10 pounds per hour at 40 hours a week is 1600 a month. Tax will leave him with 1200 a month . Rent in Sunderland maybe 500 a month he has 700 left. Utilities like 300. He has 400 left. Council tax 150. He has 250 left. Phone and internet. 100. He has 150 left.
I haven't added feeding and this your friend has only 150 left. I put it to you that your friend does not even make enough to feed himself or get a haircut or buy clothes. He will be one of those Nigerians over there who go to Salvation Army charity or church charity to get free food because they can't feed tbemself. Almost 40 percent of Nigerians in the UK cannot afford food. If you go to the charity section of every church where they give free food to the hungry it's full of Nigerian families. Bros e be like say u na accountant o. Small thing like this u don give breakdown. Abeg make u take am easy on our Nigerian people for UK na. |

theamazonguru: Very funny. English no be our mother's language jare. It's only a 2nd language. Yes it is our official language. Our agreed lingua franca. Once you can communicate and the other person understands, English don do her job. Case closed. The rest na shakara level. Forget, Syntax and lexis.
Which language does a man from China speak? Chinese right ? Which language does a man from Germany speak? German right ? What language does a man from France speak? French right?
These guys communicate in their mother's tongue. They are not seen as illiterate or less developed or less humans because of that.
I have a friend, a Nigerian, Who schools in China. She told me all their text books are written in Chinese. Her first job is to translate that Chinese to English before she understands anything.
So tell me why those guys won't understand what they are being taught in their mother's tongue. But we for Nigeria we sabi English pass Oyibo self, Lori iro. Mtcheeeeeeeeeeeeew. My wife reads her Bible in her language (Ibo). I no blame her ooh. As long as it helps her to connect with what she reads. In fact me sef don start to dey do same. Imagine I can read 4 different translations before I understand some verses. No be the same English them take write those translations? They are just playing with words from one version to the other.
My boss is a French man, who hardly speaks English. His English is below average. I can say on the scale of 10, I will; rate him 2/10. But this guy is a genius. He just landed in Nigeria 2 months ago. You need to see the innovations he has brought in, new IT system he has built for adoption in our operation. This is the same organization I have worked for the pass 10 years, all of us just dey speak grammar Lori iro. We sabi speak. Yes. We know our job yes. Come and see our reports, choiiii so so grammar. But he no pass that level. E no translate to nothing. French guy came in and saw what we all never saw in years. Na only to dey spot each other's error we sabi.
Oga free the young girl. If you sabi, good for you. Hope the grammar is taking you to great heights and helping you achieve incredibly awesome things.
Na that one be the Koko.
For your information, I had A in English, when waec was still waec , not today that miracle center is everywhere. My comment is not coming out of hatred for the language. Not at all. Too much respek for u. |

Another good one is rejecting the satanic PIB passed. Our Southern legislators are just useless, allowing governors to do their work I quite agree with you about our southern legislators. I don't know what u guys are trying to achieve with all of this "most beautiful this and most beautiful that".
There is depressing unemployment, terrible power supply, high cost of living, very high crime rate, irresponsible leadership just to mention a few.
Life for the vast majority of Nigerians is as worst as it can get, yet we chose to obsess on the affluence of a tiny minority who are surrounded by abject poverty.
Sometimes I feel very embarrassed that for a country of Nigeria's status we still haven't gotten it right even at the most basic level of human development.
Smaller African countries are quietly building their countries and making their citizens feel the presence of good leadership.
In Nigeria our politicians commission borehole and build a huge billboard to celebrate it. |

I think Ihedioha deserves everything coming his way now. I had thought that with the good will that followed him into Imo's government house, he would hit the road and run with people oriented programs and policies. But no, he chose to advance a personal vendetta against his predecessor Rochas, instead of good governance.
If u ask me Ihedioha's only achievement during his short spell as governor was fighting Rochas okorocha. I'm certain that orchestrated his downfall. |

Investigation like this will commence Someone related an experience very similar to d scenario ur trying to describe. It involved a female Corp member who travelled out of her ppa to go visit a guy in another state. They both went to bed together but by the following morning she was dead. She showed no symptoms of any illness. evilive: Commenting early on a thread is like having a shop at the only entrance into a market. Such comments (in most cases) determine the flow of a thread; if you know what it feels like to be a landlord. Yeah, a laaandLORD.
Most importantly, commenting earlier on a thread increases your chances of getting 'likes'; the new currency stronger than pound and euro combined. I think that's something worth dying for.
As it is in the real world, so it is in the virtual world. It's all about competition; a morbid crave for attention; a silly race to nowhere; a rat race.
I think we all have the trait in our DNA, but the density varies.
So true. I've noticed this crazy trend on most social media platforms especially Twitter and Instagram. People sleep and wake up there.
Honestly, to be popular on the virtual space is a full time job, and I'm too lazy for that. |
