There are two ways to go about it.

1) Either you use a different pof for your own SOWP application after your spouse study visa has been earlier approved

Or

2) Use same pof but proof that same account you are showing (steadily 4months or above) can cater for both the already study visa approved applicant and you the SOWP applicant. This is what I did in my case. I used excel template to do budget cost for both applicant and show them how my pof is enough. Not doing is inviting refusal base on financial incapacity.

I carefully noticed this kind of issued using same POF for PA Student and later used it for swop don't usually fly, or better SOWP should show more fund in his/her bank statement to support the POF

I can afford 40 iPhone 14 without flinching, but I have used an iPhone and I found it very overrated. Apart from the camera, everything else was so boring and restrictive. I use an S22 ultra now and it's way more useful than any iPhone out there, also has a super sharp camera too

We didn't apply together. I applied after hers was approved and visa placed in her passport.

She used me as home ties but in my SOWP application I ensured I explained the sudden change in plan (i.e why I decided to travel with her) in detail...just some subtle emotional blackmail...and it was approved.

I believe you jare as this is the least every Nigerian should leave but the state of the nation has made people believe we re all leaving on 50k budget, they won't understand.

My advice is for you to start looking at long term investment.

Try see how you can acquire real estate properties, try relocation to saner clime (if your mind can carry it).

My expenses on monthly basis are to the tune of N429,500

If you think this is too high, just know that every individual cuts their suit according to their size. Moreover, if this appears too little to barely cater for your monthly provisions, I pray one day I match this type of stability and beyond.

Why can't you just understand that his calculation is average per month e.g if he spends 120k per year for online training average is 10k per month.

This month alone have done CSM online Training and Certification for 320 USD, I did PSPO 1 certification exam for 200 usd... How much is that in Naira? Figure it out.

Having lived in US for 10 uninterrupted years, I can tell you OP was not biased and counter your 5 points.

1. Human dignity: true soldiers and politicians do anyhow but there are gangs in US and UK too. I used to live in Chicago and Bariga and I can tell you that you have a higher chances of getting killed in US than Nigeria.
2. You're right about something to do but doing something does not translate into doing some meaningful. Majority of immigrants start working in group home even as a masters degree holder.

3. While you don't need to know anyone to get a job, there are still instances you need to know people to get a job even in US though rear

4. There is nothing like flat structure. Average Americans can't afford to buy a new car. Even us s cars takes years to pay it off.

5. Good infastructure is a plus abroad but don't confused good healthcare to it availability. There are millions of Americans that has no healthcare and are one sickness to bankruptcy.

Note: while US, UK, EU are better than Nigeria, not all abroad are better. Traveling to Belize, Panama etc in search of a greener pasture is literally like hustling backward.

I think the OP is biased in his write up in the sense that it is one-sided and made to instill fear in japaa adventure.

In as much as you dont smuggle your way abroad illegally, you are assured of the following:
1)Human Dignity. (no soldier or politician is gonna treat you like an animal because of your status or background. We see this everyday here0
2) There is something for you to do, wether it is a professionally skilled job or labour. You are assured of your basic life if u aint lazy.
In Nigeria some graduates have been unemployed for 5 to 7 yrs (can you beat that?)
3) You dont need to know anybody to get anything legal that is your right. (Here ministry jobs, NDA, Govt contract , all are connections)
4) Flat structure. Whether you are a gateman, CEO, Banker or carpenter, everybody level is flat. A cleaner can afford a new car with credits and repay after 5 years. Who dash monkey banana for 9ja.
5) Access to good infrastructure like health, education, good roads, security, power, societal decorum, rule of law etc


However, what the op should have warned people about are the followings.
1. Abroad life is not cheap. The rent I am paying for my wife as a student per month is almost a year and half rent in our Nigeria house.
2. Abroad life you earn and give to the system via tax, you try to evade tax you go to jail
3. Abroad life does not support your adulterous lifestyle like you do in Nigeria
4. Abroad life does not give you absolute control over your kids
5. Abroad life does not give you preference as a man over your wife as we do traditionally in Nigeria, infact women and children are protected than men .
6. You dont have so much social life in abroad life cos every moment counts (your bill is running so no time for idling like 9ja)
7. You cannot easily get help from family and friends like Nigeria so all man for himself.


For me, after spending almost 10m in the relocation of my wife, I dont have regrets cos like three employers have mailed me to let them know when I land about jobs thing and I can see they pay more than 10x what I earn in Nigeria.
