You cannot beat it. Before you can apply for sowp with pgwp, you must be in Teer 1- 3 which is difficultt to get such job as a new graduate. There is a policy or a pilot that qualifies people presently enacted by Fraser allowing low skilled workers to bring their family. Unfortunately, this is a 2 year program which may end by January next year. Am not sure they will renew it cos they want to shut the door. The govt sees pgwp holders and students as same. There is a way to beat the Spousal Open Work Permit by college student when it goes into effect by September 1st 2024.

If you have intent of bringing your spouse and family just ensure you finish your program and get a PGWP that is able to take care of your family and then you can bring them.

However, if you re hell bent on bringing your spouse as a college student after the new law, then you can use spouse visit visa However your kids will be qualified for study visa. It's just the work authorization they are regulating.
The problem here is we are all bringing our spouse and family even as students. We can't blame them because housing crisis in Canada is on the rise.

I recently got denied for not providing enough info about my spouse full time study in a DLI.

Having reapplied again with all the details of my spouse DLI admission plus extra info, my medical has passed, BG Check ongoing while others are not started.

I can now see my spouse name on my tracker profile with relationship and length of sponsor of "not available". Is this a good progress from those who have gotten their SOWP and verified via tracker?

She just also applied for extension and I hope her extension is out before I am given my permit in her new date.

Govt need to create a more viable economic environment and a working wage structure not the death minimum wage we have. They also need to regulate the activities of House Agents to ensure they are not sabotaging end users (tenants).

For your Information, Canada has raised minimum wage earning to 20 Cad per hour. Some province like Ontario earn more.

A student who works 20 hours/week in Canada let's say 20 cad per hr (new rate) can earn up to
1200 CAD less tax. He or she pays 550 CAD for a single room in a shared flat inclusive of 24hrs power (uses power for cooking), Data and heat. He has 650 CAD extra to manage his life of which he can save like 300 to 400 CAD if he lives low-key.


Tell us how a Nigerian earning 30k can match the above soft life? How much can a minimum wage earner save after paying his month bills.

We are not even talking about Canada's access to food bank, good roads, security, health care etc.

Compare that with the price of drivers licence or international passport or even fine. Half bag of rice is how much again ?? Add cost of transportation. In UK how much do they earn per hour In USA how much do they earn per hour?? In Canada how much do they earn per hour ?? I'm very sure three hours of work is more than 30k if you convert that in Naira.

To an outsider,they earn low, but what they end can also cater for their cost of living within their country.

Those earning 3000 CAD per month before tax even need other jobs to be able to pay their rent and handle other aspects of life within canada, reason why many end up sharing apartment with strangers.

My wife's rent per month in Canada is almost my two years rent in Lagos.

The problem is not the rent but our earning power. In Canada shared room apartment can go for like 600 CAD to 800 CAD per month that's like 600k to 800k per month but u can also get a very easy job in a farm where you can earn 160 CAD to 200 CAD (about 160k to 200k) per day.

So the problem is earning power. Reason they say Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world.

These things are not expensive oh compare to bills from developed world.

The problem with Nigeria is not that things are expensive, it's only that a lot of Nigerians earn substandard pay or wages.

Imagine if the least worker (s cleaner) in Nigeria is eaening 200k. Diploma graduates 300k least and undergraduates 400k least while post-graduates 500k and above. Life won't be this hard.

Your banks were paying drivers 70k to 80k because these drivers were surviving on cheap subsidy fuel while the banks cash out with billions every year as profits. Now that subsidy is gone, banks are now paying drivers 150k to 200k which is what they should have been doing a long time.

So my people, our data, power and utilities cost cannot be as expensive as Europe, America or advance countries. Difference is they earn a decent pay. Here, the politicians have stolen the monies that should have spread to pay workers decent pay. Our currency has also devalued leading to inflation. So we need to standardize pay and also the performance of work so both employer and employee can have a win/win outcome.

People only love finished products but they are not ready to pay the price.

To get admission into unilag, you must do very well in Jamb and post-jamb. Most times, more than 20% of Jamb candidates choose unilag as there 1st choice only for the best among the lots to get the admission to high rated courses like Engr, CS, Law and others.

Check the caliber of students that usually make unilag list. Folks from Queens College, Kings College, high worth private schools like Corona and Federal Govt Colleges. Why won't they churn out real 1st class. Let's give it to the guys who deserve their worth jare.
