spartacus11:1 and 2 though related are not the same thing. The screen size was increased, virtually the same foot print was maintained and the trendy 18:9 screen ratio was introduced. Those are significant. Like I said the Max 3 is not really targeted at Max 2 users but at the original Max users and new adopters. Even in countries where phones are bought on contracts, the contracts last two years. So most users skip the immediate next upgrade. No one is telling u to sell your Max 2. You can wait for Max 4. The battery upgrade is good enough. Wasn't even hoping on it. Were you expecting a 7000mAh battery on a phone? The added juice would show in the stand by time. More so, it has a newer more efficient processor. So even though the endurance rating isn't out, I expect a good upgrade over the Max 2. I'm not a Max 2 user but I'm just being realistic. Like I said, I was hoping on a SD710 pro version but it didn't come. What we have is good enough and worth the wait. The question is what were you expecting. An AMOLED screen or SD845 on a mid range device? You have to be realistic. Your argument has been over flogged and is repeated with any major release of popular phones. No major phone manufacturer does that. Galaxy note 3 users complained that note 4 was not a worthy upgrade, same with note 4 users and note 5 and so on. Same thing occurs with iPhones. The last time someone tried a really massive upgrade was with Galaxy Note 7 and we all know how that went. In summary, if your Max 2 is still serving you well, hold on to it and wait for the Max 4 because when that is out, some Max 3 users would still complain that its not a worthy upgrade on the Max 3. But if you have the money, you can get the max 3 because the little all round upgrades is sure to give you a more enjoyable device. |
alosbaba007:Correct! But is it factory fitted Also, if I'm ordering for fast shipping through DHL, do I need to ask the seller to use another description on the box to avoid crazy shipping charges? |
luciouscookie:Same here... Waiting for Global ROM |
olanreyman:On Most brands, upgrades on subsequent models are usually incremental. If you want a massive upgrade on a model, you have to skip the subsequent model. Like the Max to Max 3. Same with galaxy phones The thing is that the upgrade from the Max 2 to the max 3, though incremental is good enough. To list them... 1. Bigger screen in almost the same size 2. Trendy screen aspect ratio 3. Better processor 4. Bigger battery on an already massive battery 5. Better Camera 6. Better design. What other things were you on the look out for? I was also expecting a pro version with SD 710 and if they throw in an OLED screen, and infra red facial recognition, it would also be fantastic. But this is good enough for an update. |
Gptech:Is it mi max 3? What description and price did you ask the seller to put on the body to avoid unnecessary custom charges? |
Anyone looking towards the Mi Max 3? The prices I'm seeing on aliexpress are quite steep at almost 150k as compared to 100k of last year's mi Max 2. At that price, waiting for the the Mi 8 to fall may be better |
Youngjohnosas:That's good to hear. I remember when computer based tests were introduced in my university for first years. It almost eliminated the issue of lost scripts and students started making very good grades in their first year. Some departments even went ahead to introduce it for second and third year students Not too long ago, I heard of a public university that introduced students appraisal as part of a prerequisite for promoting lecturers. As you would expect, within a few months, the issue of missing scripts and so many other irregularities began to disappear. Truth be said, some public universities are embracing positive change but then, so much more can be done and at a faster pace. I really like the whole attention sex for marks issues are getting now from the government. It's part of putting more pressure for a better society. |
Youngjohnosas:Lol... Cool down Bro... I wonder why you sound so pained. It's so easy to make snide remarks against private unis but when one questions the veracity of your claims, you go beserk. FYI, I've referred to both state and federal universities as public unis and used both interchangeably on this thread with no willful attempt at discrimination. Facts still remain what they are - facts. Also, no need going ad-hominem trying to compare me to a student of your said university. First I'm not going for bragging rights here. Secondly, I didn't read a four year course. Thirdly, my admission was on merit and lastly, the course I studied only just recently got accredited in your said university. Finally, this isn't about me or you, but the rising credibility of private universities and the falling standards of their public counterparts. |
LordIsaac:Confrontational and vulgar? Hmmm... I'm still looking for that. That they inherited a semi- functional system from the colonialists and ran it down does not mean we should continue in that state and not ask for a change. BTW, by "we" you mean?? Well to each his own. |
LordIsaac:You're funny. Seems you didn't read my post fully. Like I said, I'm a product of a top rated federal university and read one of the most competitive and regulated courses in a region of the country known for its educational prowess. So if there was a bragging right associated with that, I'm well qualified Like I mentioned earlier, I used to brag about the so called difficulty of state owned higher institutions until I got myself exposed to how stuff works in a progressive society. I then saw the folly in my previous belief. I still remember one of my lecturers bragging that he cannot set an mcq and more than 10% would get upto 50%. In a functional system, that would have been his last day as a lecturer. But guess what, he's a "top" professor in Nigeria. Lecturers should want their students to pass and succeed brilliantly. The sad thing is nat most of the sadistic lecturers are hardly available to teach. The fact is that the system present in most public institutions make them unfit to be called universities in the first place. That a university like CU is embracing the right order puts it ahead of virtually all public universities. It's just like the Cameroonian FA and National team claiming to be better than their French counterparts because Mbape couldn't make the Cameroonian team (as his father didn't have the money to pay for bribes) but where as made the French team with minimal effort. A chaotic system would always be beneath a system that does things right. I guess you're still an undergraduate and really feel pained reading you post. You should read up Stockholm syndrome and see how it applies to you. There is no glory in backwardness |
Youngjohnosas:Something can be done and already some public universities are changing although slowly e.g UI. The success of CU and the fact that the top people in the society now overlook them and send their wards to CU are making them see that there's no benefit holding back what someone merits or making the environment unconducive. It only put their graduates at a disadvantage when compared to the outside world. The world is now a global village. |
deewhydoski:If you can afford it, go for a masters in Europe or North America. You would see what functional and result based education is like. I used to brag about how difficult my school was until I started taking foreign exams. That was when I saw what good education is |
LordIsaac:And that is why ur unijos is nothing more than a glorified secondary school who has continually retrogressed. Can you point to any leading worldwide research or breakthrough conducted by your "difficult unijos"? You're here comparing a stagnant entity with an institution who have Nobel laureates as lecturers Even the government recently admitted that the future of tertiary education in Nigeria lies with private schools. If care is not taken, very soon sending your child to a public university would be like sending him to an LEA school. BTW, just so you know, I am a product of a Top Federal University |
josite:Typical reasoning of an average Nigerian who glories in suffering. You mentioned Harvard but I doubt you've been to a university in the first world because you'd have the deficiencies in our system. For you to say that a department in the university you went to refused to award first class irrespective of whether it was merited or not gives credence to the fact that that university is just a glorified secondary school. Or do you think that's how it works in Harvard. The fact is that if things continue the way they are, comparing Ife to CU in a few years would be like comparing Nigeria to America. There is no glory in backwardness |
STILESGANG:That's because you erroneously think someone who scored 200 in JAMB is mentally deficient. Someone with 200 can under the right condition and dedication make a first class. liberate yourself |
Youngjohnosas:In a progressive country, such place would not be more than a primary school. The role of a university/lecturer is not to brag about their failure rate but rather get fulfilment in producing better members of the society. What's even more annoying are the young students who brag about such poor records rather than being angry about it and asking for a change. Is it Stockholm syndrome or what? |
Ofure111:We are talking of universities here not glorified secondary schools who breed cultists. Most of the best universities in the world have a much higher first class rate than that of CU. Would you also say ekpoma is better than those? Very soon, comparing most private unis to public unis in Nigeria would be like comparing state owned primary schools to the private schools you have around except something drastic is done. Just BTW, I'm a product of a prestigious Federal university but I don't applaud backwardness. |
jedisco:Please more opinions needed urgently |
folmus:Thanks. Yes it's a hostel. I might not necessarily stay there but I need it to keep my budget within limits so as to get the visa. I intend to put the breakdown in my cover letter. I might use some other persons account to pay for my application. I'm just looking at the acceptability of the £791 which is about 380k and also my savings. I'm thinking of reducing it to £750. But I'm thinking it may be too low? What do you think? |
Good day house. Please I have some issues I want to clarify with my visa application. 1. I am about applying for a 4 day visit to take an exam. The breakdown of my expenses are Flight - £600 Accommodation - £41 Living expenses - 75 miscellaneous - 75 Total- £791 Is the total and breakdown ok or do I need to make some changes 2. I have been having problems securing the required accommodation on booking.com as both my GT and Diamond Bank Cards are being rejected. Is there any remedy for this? 3.As regards my account balance, I got a government job about 8 mnts ago. I wasn't paid for the first 6 mnts and received the bulk sum of just under a million naira 2 mnts ago. Before this, my account had come down to zero as I burnt through my savings during the wait. Now after the pay, I had to use about 550k to book for the exam and settle other expenses but now my account is back to about 810k. I have d payslips with a base salary of about 160k and a side job that pays about 100k monthly. The issue is that sometimes, I am paid in cash for the side job so it may not always reflect on my account. Is my account in order to apply? 4. Someone told me I should have at least 800k. The issue is if I go ahead and pay for the application, my account would drop below that. Can I print my statement first before paying? Would it have an adverse effect on my application as my account wouldn't reflect where I paid from. @justwise @ ekpotek @folmus @abnot |
ubev01:Been patiently waiting for months |
Solomon27:Have you done that before? I thought DHL are stricter with custom charges? |
noobody:Pls what description and price should we tell sellers to put? |
Patiently waiting for Mi Max 3. Anybody in the house with me? |
Confiman:@op what you're experiencing is not strange and quite common with first timers or those who have stayed off sex for a while. Most times, it boils down to anxiety. To remedy this, there are certain practical steps you must take. 1. Try and relax your mind. This is quite difficult because the process of actively trying to relax may make you more tensed. An easier way is to tell yourself that it would soon be a thing of the past. Something you both would laugh at. Soon enough she may be the one complaining of too much sex. Remember, you can't force an erection 2. Let her know that you're a virgin. Also, explain to her that you've read up on it and its quite common with first timers and it has nothing to do with your attraction for her. Let her know that she can read up on it too and that it would soon pass. This way, you're both relaxed. 3. Stop Masturbating for now. Soon enough, you would be able to build up more sexual pressure and make your erections harder and longer. Always remind yourself that if you must release, it must be through sex. 4. Take your mind a lil off sex for now. Cuddle each other and get comfy around each other. You can have BJs and hand jobs but never release through this means. This way you'd learn to only release through penetrative sex. When you think you're hard enough, you can proceed to penetrate. 5. Adopt a position that enables you achieve and maintain erection quicker. Lying on your back may help. 6. The process of putting on the condom is likely to be when you loose it. Since you're both first timers, you could screen yourselves and try without it. Then she could stimulate u both rubbing the head of your peniz against her clit. But remember to do this in her 'safe period' and also use 'morning after' pills to prevent pregnancy as you're likely to release inside her as a first timer. 7. RELAX because it would soon be a thing of the past Finally, remember abstinence is the best and sex is best enjoyed within the confines of marriage. The choice is yours. |
Amarabae:LOL. Who doesn't know u as the chief consultant nurse who is a multi millionaire, owner of several schools and chief defender of JOHESU on Nairaland. Again, greetings! |
Amarabae:Consultant JOHESU... You're back again... Greetings! |
JoannaSedley:Even though you seem to be a nurse, you should be able to stand for the truth when it's so obvious. While I fault the docs for being too expletive (which seems an easy path when someone continues to show crass ignorance), the superior knowledge in their argument is obvious Like one of my lecturers would always say, the man who knows "how" would get his daily bread but the man who knows "why" would always be his boss. These are cases of people who know "how" and "why" vs. people who barely know "how" The principle ("why" ) behind which a normal commensal can become a pathogen (in those cases mentioned) is so basic that even a secondary school art student would understand the concept in minutes. We should all work together, understand and respect each persons role in moving the Nigerian health sector forward. |
jumper524:My apologies if you felt insulted. I felt rather annoyed by your post hence my seemingly harsh reply. Fact still remains that Southerners need to wake up |
jumper524:It's better to be quiet than display crass ignorance in public. I'm sure maybe save for Abuja you have never step foot in the north. I'm sure you think they wear suits in Maiduguri shey ![]() I asked this same question on another thread. I was opportune to have witnessed an incident that occurred recently along kaduna - Abuja road where tanker drivers blocked both sides of the road in protest for over 12 hours because a tanker while trying to dodge the road block fell. The GOC who is a general came to beg but they insisted they must be given 3million first. The guy left them there. It was through intervention of top politicians that they decided to move. Mind you, this was a first hand experience also confirmed by one of the soldiers involved. If same thing happened in d East or South, they would have sprayed people with bullets. Fact is Southerners are too docile. Little wonder why almost all the successful coups in the past were led by the less educated Northerners |
Toks2008:Seems quite a process but 11 years seems rather long |
Toks2008:So what's the requirement for a non-EU citizen? |
