spikedcylinder:Lol . . . girl or boy? I didn't hear oh TOH is that so? & I didn't even get an invitation ![]() |
ROTFLOL . . . Skyone take it easy brother. I'm sure you've been in these parts long enough to know such threads will most likely be deleted. And why indulge Abuzola anyways? he is a hopeless, unrepentant attention seeker and you're only feeding his insatiable ego by dignifying him with a thread. And Mukina may be muslim but I think she's got a level head on her shoulders. |
skyy04:Hmm I see. I'm glad the German authorities have wised up. Gosh Naija, when we will change our corrupt ways? |
I can't believe it. The Philly fans gave Vick a standing ovation albeit in a half-empty stadium? Anyways soild debut from Vick. Now the Eagles need to figure out how they're going to incorporate him effectively. and Bratt makes his "return" tonight granpa doesn't want to leave the game to the youngins. |
Where are all these people self? Max & TOH please continue, I want to laugh well today . . . I watched Bourne Ultimatum again last night . . . I've fallen in love all over again ![]() No2A, I'll check that link out. And yeah there is a video, you're subscribed to me right? If i get around to uploading it you'll see it. |
I am not his God so, it's not in my place to hold him tenable. He who has no sin, let him cast the first stone.
How come you don't say that when it comes to George Bush? ![]() |
skyy04:Yeah I get that sky. I'm just curious about the physical passport itself. Is it a requirement to turn it in? |
Lafem:Oh I see. In that case pretty good job! I commented it needed 'more' because I wanted to see what would happen next . But yeah the clip is funny and did leave me with a thot on "getting what you want may not always be good". I'm trying to watch the chickenjam but my browser is acting up. I'll try to view it later. We need more innovative, original artists such as yourself doing us proud ![]() |
Ibime:lol, you're not serious . . .anyways you may already be aware it is a license I indeed utilise on numerous occasions @Tayo & Ibime, You're both very learned, intelligent men - who happen to view world issues from different ends of the spectrum - and by God I hope you both see that there is nothing wrong in that! We all differ and our atimes very drastically different experiences are what shape our viewpoints. I think some apparently very cherished opinions stated on this thread are absolutely absurd - and the favor is very much reciprocated by the opposing party. And you know what - I'm okay with that and don't necessarily think the 'absurd'-viewpoint-holder is himself absurd - just that we've both had different experiences leading us to different conclusions about a singular matter. |
So is it an absolute necessity/requirement to turn in your passport? why can't they just let you keep it? is there a penalty if you don't turn it in? INS asks people to bring in their 'former' passports on the day of their swearing in, not turn in into their local embassy. |
bawomolo:Rose. But if Bosh were coming to town to be my #1 sidekick I would settle for the lower grade PG. Wade self is 28 . . . the window is closing very fast. |
Lol . . . McNabb is Doyin's boy now . . . until he begins to suck again ![]() |
bawomolo:Bawo I don't want to keep harping on it for the sake of those who adore him on this thread but here's a short summary from wiki: On the night of July 18, 1969, Kennedy was on Martha's Vineyard's Chappaquiddick Island at a party for the "Boiler Room Girls", a group of young women who had worked on his brother Robert's presidential campaign the year before.[48] Kennedy left the party, driving a 1967 Oldsmobile Delmont 88 with one of the women, 28-year-old Mary Jo Kopechne and later accidently drove off Dike Bridge into the Poucha Pond inlet, a tidal channel on Chappaquiddick Island. Kennedy escaped the overturned vehicle, swam to safety and left the scene. He did not call authorities until after Kopechne's body was discovered the following day.[48]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chappaquiddick_incident Was it an accident? of course. But his actions following the incident to me are shocking, reprehensible and deserving of punishment. All this drama and hoopla - if his last name wasn't 'Kennedy' he wouldn't be getting the royalty treatment he has gotten all his life. |
I watched the video, cool, and has potential. Question: Was that simply a teaser? or the episodes are meant to be that short? (~2mins) cos it I think it def needs more than that. Keep it up. |
bawomolo:and their cats. My co-workers take days off to celebrate their dogs birthday seriously? Anyways I have just been reminded by Doyin Vick is on tonite I shall be watching, hope he does well. |
bawomolo:Licking your lips in anticipation huh? lol Miami can still keep Wade if they let their pockets loose next summer. |
Na today? ![]() |
I'm not surprised. A Nigerian is the same whether in Naija or elsewhere. But this is a shame. |
RichyBlacK:Richy I have no ulterior motives or conspiracy theories. I simply said his actions of that day and never taking responsibility for her death forever indicated to me the kind of man he is. Simple. What does this have to do with "republicans vs democrats"? I don't get why you always seem to make everything a party issue. and declare anyone with a non-leftist view republican. I am a registered independent (about to move to NH where my vote would actually matter) who voted to legalize marijuana, is pro-life but doesn't believe the govt should force women to keep their babies, was against the Iraq war - and still is, watches CNN religiously and who thinks Senator Claire McCaskill & John McCain are honest democrats. So as a word to all leave the republican and democrat labels at the door, and don't presume to know the moral compass and fundamental ideologies of whom you are debating with. This is the problem America as a whole is having throughout this entire debate - everyone stubbornly thinks their ideas/beliefs are the right ones. When the last time I checked it was only God who truly knows everything. @JeSoul,And you are entitled to feel this way about him Richy! you certainly are, just like I'm entitled to feel otherwise and not be so brazen enough to declare my feelings the "right" one/reaction. When you look at someone who doesn't feel as you do and declare them "children of lucifer" what does that say about you? |
@jesoul hello how are you? long time, hmm this topic is very touchy in Christianity. i will be adding my own view soon.
My brother I am well, dying to self daily that He might increase. How are you?
Mathew 19:9 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery." In the Jewish tradition a woman is betrothed to a man for one year before marriage and during that time she lives separately from her parents and gets herself prepared for the proper marriage. During this period she is not yet married but set aside for the man just like Mary and Joseph in the bible. So Jesus was saying that if she commits fornication during these period then the husband has a right to divorce her. But if that's not the reason for divorce then the man who leaves her and goes on to marry another woman commits adultery (Now the man is already married). Now for the woman like wise who ever marries a woman that was divorced for the wrong reason during this betrothed period commits adultery. So Jesus was saying in essence that you can only divorce your wife during the betroth period on the reason of fornication but when properly married and she commits adultery then the worst you can do is separation for a while from her but the bible encourages forgiveness and reconciliation between both party after a while.
Excellent explanation - perhaps this is what Image was trying to say?. This is the situation Joseph found himself in when he found out Mary was pregnant and he wanted to divorce her. Now I understand where you're coming from, I'm certain that this is perhaps simply a problem stemming from exegesis. Here's a piece I culled from an article I read a while back which explains much better than I ever could the verses Matt 5:31-32 and 9:19: Jesus did not recognize the validity of divorce and remarriage “for every cause” (KJV). He canceled the fairly broad permission to divorce that was given to Israel by Moses “because [their] hearts were hard” (vs.Now at this point I do realize we will probably still differ on how to interpret that verse (whether it be btw married people or betrothed or something in between) but that is okay. It is by far better anyways to forgive and strive for reconciliation rather than outright divorce - a feat only possible by the grace and strength and healing of God. |
naliakar:wow really? that's cool. Unlike people like me who've permanently pitched their tents here lol The Fitchburg train is easier for me to and from Potter Square then into the sub. Tedious still. What am I studyingNemesis ke? Name the person so I can have a word with him/her. |
Well you fellas are right in that I shouldn't have singled out only his faults without also praising him for the many good things he did. You're right he was instrumental in the passing of many good laws we have today. As for this: Ibime:I'm not sure whether to laugh or take offense. |
olabowale:Lol . . . Have you been talking to TOH/Karma recently? she recently fingered me as one as you have now. Alhaji no matter how far I travel or how much assimilation I've undergone, it will be always be Lagos I used to enter this world ![]() yankee; finally a term used to describe new yorkers, especially by bostonians, who are goneho on being different, thereby adopting red sox as a name for their baseball team, while far away chicago takes the name white sox for theirs.Boston all day every day lol Yankees suck no matter what the current record sayswhen you go to 9ja, tell them that you are a red sox, and see the faces, scratching heads and their murmuring as they hurdle together asking themselves about you; whats this yankee saying she is again, red sox?ROTFLOL . . . hehe, funny, you certainly got me there ![]() |
Alhaji sir, you are confusing 'forgiveness' with 'justice'. God in heaven will give each one of us what is due - I have no doubt about that. Ted K. owes I nor anyone else outside of the family anything and there is no 'forgiveness' in our hands to extend to him. It's between him and her family. Imagine for a moment Mary jo was your daughter, I am certain you will feel very differently on the matter. That he never assumed responsibility for that incident is all the evidence I need as to the kind of man he is and the quality of his character. |
Chrisbenogor:In many cases it becomes absolutely necessary to kill in order to prevent the evil from occuring. And in many other cases it is "kill or be killed". However on the flipside I do submit that if preventable, the life should be spared - by no means should we kill all murderers. Life is precious, no matter whose it is . . . And I say this with some difficulty because its not always black and white, situations are so unique and different. you must have watched "A time to Kill" starring Samuel L. Jackson and Matthew McConaughey. If you haven't here's the wikipedia summary: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Time_to_Kill_(film). The father in such a desperate, impossible, inconceivable position, did not have to or need to kill the rapists - but do I understand and empathize with his rage? absolutely. And might you or I, thrown into such a position done the same thing? quite possibly. Which is why in the end the jury let him go free. |
Chrisbenogor:Even better. I didn't know those were part of the options but that would be wasting taxpayer money wouldn't it? I think humans wait for a legal excuse to take a life, are we all killers inside?lol . . . are you speaking from personal experience? Nah I don't think we're all killers. I do think that the average Joe presented with a unique circumstance where drastic and fatal reaction is necessary to prevent evil, Joe will and must rise to the moment and act. |
naliakar:How long of a commute is it for you? I've done the 1:15 to and from watertown on the Pike for 2 whole years . . . I don't miss it! What are you studying? It was despicable but if nothing punitive and/or retributive could be done in his life time, it would be pointless bringing it up now. For God,s sake he may be standing face to face with his comeuppance even if spiritually.Yeah I know not much can be done about it now, his fate is in the hands of God to whom he will give account. On the last point you are right and I second your sentiments about the motive for tempering with the law to outwit Romney. But you do know that The governor (Deval) and the Lt Governor (Murray) are not bound by that law if my interpretation is correct. It could be overruled although I am saying this with less certainty than I should. You my dear are living proof Liberals of sense and honesty and sincerity exist. I so much appreciate when people can recognize a wrong and not be blinded by party loyalty. It remains to be seen what city hall will do, and I hope its the right thing. |
RichyBlacK:It is quite impressive how you can demonize, insult, disparage and declare irrelevant those choosing to not indulge in the current media worship of the kennedy's. I know you're smart and can articulate yourself much better than the above. Bringing up Mary jo's death is "insensitive"? right, tell that to her family. |
Alhaji sir, how you dey? ![]() olabowale:Please enlighten me, what is a "yank"? is that short for "yankee"? if that be the case you've got it mad twisted - I am a Red Sox ![]() Aburo, how are you guys coping at the passing of the last of the prime dynasty of american politics? Am gonna call to find out how the people are reacting to the news.Coping? I hate to throw a wrench in the sentiment but if you really want to know how I am 'feeling' about Kennedy's passing, find out here. |
No2Atheism:ROTFLOL . . . my dude, you're not serious, lol |
Image123:And I would agree 100% with you ![]() See, I understand we've been consciously/subconsciously made to believe that adultery can lead to divorce, but Jesus did not say so.Like I said,it takes some meekness to subdue our pride of being right all along. So true "meekness" would be submitting & accepting your point of view? I'm not saying that Jesus is pointing us back anywhere, I'm saying He's refering to that scenario, a fornication situation not an adultery situation. No stress brother, I understand your position and I will ask a 3rd time now, since you believe Jesus was refering to that scenario in Deut 22, is it your view that a man can divorce his wife if she turns out to not be a virgin? (cos this is what Deut 22 is teaching). I would really appreciate a yes or no. Thanks. |
