Max soften that movie heart girl . . . Legally Blonde may not be anything close to oscar material but it was hella funny!  cheesy thoroughly entertaining.
Regardless of how convincing the acting may have been in Brokeback, the very foundation on which the storyline is built is one of sand . . . so in my humblest of opinions it cannot stand. Or maybe its becos it was a 'love story' . . . I've already said 'love stories' just don't do much for me . . . they never have and never will.

Look at Vesc spitting cinematic theology and philosophy lol. I feel you brother . . . I on the other hand prefer more dialogue in my movies. I get the whole 'get in the painting' 'fill in the blanks' 'carried by emotion not talking' type of pictures, but  undecided   different strokes for different folks. You really hit the nail on the head though . . . I didn't fancy Memento or Fightclub much either - I guess we see a pattern forming here  cool

and I'll probably get ripped for this one but whatever, I was severely upset at the critically acclaimed "There will be blood" *rolls her eyes* warreva mayne. I feel like sometimes hollywood tells us a movie is great, it is hyped, packaged and delivered as great, shoved down our throats as great - but in reality it just honestly and truthfully isn't.

Ebumowa,

I mean I didn't expect a TD-fest but still undecided the game was incredibly boring which is what you get with two powerful defenses unfortunately lacking an equally dynamic offensive side.

JS shocked

Brokeback has little nastiness in it. I guess you like all the nastiness in Milk.
It was a beautiful film jare. Not for it's gayness but for the performances, Ang Lee's ability to splendidly draw out emotions from actors and the situations.
Anytime you see two men especially kissing no matter the context - is nasty  cool. And nah haven't seen Milk.

and I couldn't resist, here's a youtube video of the famous country singer Willie Nelson's song "Ain't going down on brokeback mountain" (yes I listen to country music) I apologize about the language but it is just toooo fuunnnny!

District 9 kinda reminds me of The Matrix.

How a single movie can breath life into a particular genre.

Hollywood is definitely gonna reply, but i hope we don't see knock-offs.
You hit the nail right on the head. "District 9" is a game-changer, and like all game changers no subsequent knock-offs ever match the brilliance of the original. I'm certain we'll see a second installment though . . .

Foreign AffairsRe: Is There Anyone In Here Who Really Believes That 9/11 Was Orchestrated By Bush? by JeSoul(op): 2:34pm On Sep 11, 2009
wow all these conspiracies . . . I want to be surprised but somehow I'm not.

-Pres-elect & Cap28 believe it was Bush and Cheney etc,

-Richy thinks they aren't smart enough to do it,

-Ezeagu thinks they did it indirectly,

-McCloud speculates it could've been some 'secret societies',

-Blackspade says it was Isreal and worldwide Zionists,

I see all the points of speculation but by no means are they cohesive enough to stand as a solid arguement that the Bush Administration planned 9/11. I've watched those youtube videos and documentaries (one was even on the Discovery channel last week) but still I think none of them hold any water.

I pray sincerely that the Titans - Steelers opener last night is not a foreshadow of the season to come . . . what a bore! I fell asleep in the 3rd quarter and woke up somewhere in the OT and went to bed.

Well the Titans have shown promise sha.

did anyone catch Obama's speech yesterday? Cant wait to see how all this wraps up.
Yeah I caught a good chunk of it and I thought it was a well written and delivered speech. As 'nice' as it sounded, I don't think too many Americans were listening/watching last night. Congress looked like a bunch of bratty 5yr olds the way it was split with democrats giving a standing ovation every other minute and republicans all seated with annoyed disgusted looks . . . and these are our lawmakers?

My default position on all political matters including healthcare is that they are all lying (dem and rep alike) we just have to figure out who's lying less to us.

Year-long Purely Baseless, Emotionally Fueled Comments/Predictions

NY Giants - Don't make the playoffs, they will forever pay for denying the Pats a perfect season

Detroit Lions - *cough cough* Make the playoffs, I'd like that kid Stafford to do well.

Cincy Bengals - For the sake of Chad please please please stop wasting your potential!

Pittsburgh Steelers - Solid all around, very likely to make a run back to the SB

Houston Texans - will continue to stink

Indianapolis Colts - only a shadow of what they used to be and it will show. I hope they don't smell playoffs

Tennesse Titans - Can they repeat the run from last yr? Hope so

Miami Dolphins - Abeg carry go! there can be only 1 AFC east dominant team and it is not you.

Denver Broncos - I hope (against all evidence) that the absence of that spoilt diva at qb will leave them better off

SD Chargers - If not for the stud Philip Rivers I would have assigned them to irrelevance.

GB Packers - Go Rodgers go!!! wipe Bratt Favre out of the memories of Packer fans.

Minnesota Vikings - To put it simply, I hope Bratt breaks his own record for INT's

NO Saints - I dunno . . . I don't think the Reggie Bush experiment will work afterall.

Dallas Cowboys - I am already overcome with laughter, Romo will be exposed even further for the weakling that he is

Philadelphia Eagles - For the sake of saving Vick from lunatic, fanatic, murdering philly fans please succeed!

Chicago Bears - Hehe I can see the headlines already  . . . . "Urlacher sucker punches Cutler after he throws INT Losing The Playoff Deciding Game"

NE Patriots - simply said "SUPER BOWL CHAMPS 2010!!!" Brady coming off the best qbing season ever will return to form and restore the NE glory. Amen  cool
