sheniqua:
Is there now low fat palm oil or low carb pounded yam?
lol, not that I have seen, but even if I do see it I'm sure it will taste like cardboard - just like all those 2% percent nonsense milk they sell here.

Portion control sista, portion control. It's all about moderation.

sheniqua:
how about palm oil that'll clog your arteries and arterioles even before you pass the gas from the food sef
someone is yet to do research on the polysaturated fat in Egusi.
Goat meat nko?
our foods are not any healthier especially those soups in parties with gallons on palm oil on top and jellof rice that leaves you with "lip gloss"

fried akara
fried plaintain
fried meat
fried rice
goat peppersoup with goat lard all over the place
fried kpoff kpoff
meat pies with red meat
garri can even kill sef if processed poorly
what a list! is it not mama sunday's buka all those pot bellies go to chop and end up fat?
Me I think if you cook it urself and control what you put in and cut out, thou shalt be fine.

don't play yourself

Nigerian food isnt that healthy either

maggi and co are pretty bad for you as well
it is way healthier than the macdonalds menu.
Plus it all depends on portion size and using less fatty/sodium filled ingredients or regulating amounts such as half a teaspoon of salt instead of a full one etc. . .it is possible to eat healthy since you're the one cooking the food!
FoodRe: Abeg O I Don Tire For Yanki Food by JeSoul(f): 8:19pm On May 29, 2008
lol. . . for real the only thing them sabi na burger, mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. lipsrsealed

but why not learn how to cook nigerian/african food so that you can chop correct? instead of american food which is usually very unhealthy and tasteless. I especially hate the way they add so much sugar to dishes to give it "taste" becos they don't know how to use spices.
anyways recipies are aplenty online and even here on Nairaland, it's real easy to cook for yourself and cheaper and healthier too.

That Boston and Pistons series is something else the Eastern Conference is almost like the Serie A too much emphasis on D.I trust these Lakers though they would be up for revenger against whoever they face.
and that is why the title will come to the East Coast this yr! grin Be it Motown or Beantown.
If the west boys do not step up n play grind out D like this, they will not have any chance.

that foul by Fisher was so blatant, it was unreal. But I give the Spurs props for being big about it.
I agree it was a foul but Barry did not sell it enuff at all. He shoulda jumped straight up into Fisher instead of moving to the side- that was boneheaded.

By the way folks, you 'd better enjoy the Western Conference finals. It will get so much worse in the NBA finalsif the Eastern Conference series is anything to go by.
hehe you already know it. It will be a griiiinnnnd.

just one more win, im still scared, u know its spurs, i can't believe we are 3-1 up,
and I trust they'll make game 6 very intresting. . .
that's been their problem though - inconsistency. Ginobili has 5 pts one night, then 30, then back to single digits. They'll need ALL their stars to have a big nights and play perfect defense in order to have any hopes of coming back from 1-3

Phew. The Celtics showed their playoff "rookiness" by losing the lead and the Pistons showed their maturity and experience by coming back to make it tight - thank God we held on to win.
And how about Ray Allen! smiley I think we can now take him off the back of the milk carton - he has been found! that was a great game for him - hope this lasts the rest of the playoffs.

No worries honey, the men in green will strike back in motown  cool. I am putting my chips on "big baby" Davis to be a suprise player and I think Allen will finally have that big game - its on baby, its on! lol.
I love Stephen A. he's so outspoken and goes right to the point. n Yea he's usually on point in his analysis and predictions BUT I will make sure to tell him if I ever meet him - he (& Barkley) predicted the Lakers would not make the playoffs this season  smiley

So you're picking the Lakers too? I don't like the way the players are always waiting for kobe to rise up and save the day, they simply pull back and depend on kobe to save them. . . can't they also show their worth and step up too? what if kobe's back acts up again who's going to be their superman?

did you say the yankee sucks? Is it because you live in boston and love everything boston/new england. Do You love the Patriots too?
girl you already know it! cool
It's almost like a religion out here- you convert to Patriotism/Redsoxism/Celticism. I wasn't really into it the first couple of years but after a while it kinda grows on you. Boston and NY are rival cities in everything.
BUT
you hafta know to control it. . . if the Celtics win I will sleep well, if they lose I will still sleep well. For me its just fun and games, I never take it seriously like some of those fanatics spending 1000's on tickets and staying up late and buying jerseys and running outside like mad people like they just won the lottery etc nah not for me smiley
I'll be the first to admit some of the fans in boston are just straight up insane - but its mostly Redsox fans though. Someone paid over $20,000 for a playoff ticket last yr angry what kind of stupidity is that?

naijaking1:
The title should have been: Nigerians are the most educated immigrants in Houston.

In the NY, NJ, CT, and probably PA, Indians/Pakistanis dwarf Nigerians and all other black groups combined.
In MN, the Scandinavians still hold sway
In CA and West Coast, the Chinese/Japanese group no go allow you talk.

Nigerians are concentrated in Houston/Dallas areas for many reasons including the Lagos-like weather.
You could not have hit the nail more squarely on the head. I was thinking the exact same thing when I read the article. Cos here in Boston there really isn't a significant Nigerian population. I work in Science/Biotech so I can say right off the top Nigerians are def not many here at all!

But still why can't we take a lil bit of joy in this post? We have enuff bad press about naija everyday. Let us not criticize everything

nazzyon:
The American Soldier knows it is wrong to mess with a persons religion be it Christianity, Budhism, Judaism or The Great Religion.

Why take an action that is it clear will jeopardize your future at work?

It is simple, I am the Messenger of God Almighty and I know that if I burn or pee on a bible the followers of Christ will be displeased. Why go ahead to complicate situations?
yes I will be offended but will not call for "severest of punishment"

It is simple the guy was out of line and it called for a capital punishment.
shocked are you saying he should be killed?

As for the Iraqi's and the Followers of God Amighty (Muslimin) all over the world, they are showing how they handle their religion and proving that they won't acknowledge any body out to taunt their religion.
So you're saying everyyone must "respect" and "acknowedge" their religion or else? Ever heard of freedom of speech and religion?

If the guy remains in Iraq, he may not live to see today.
again are you saying the soldier deserves to be killed for that? shocked

Yeah sometimes those Senators can really be a jobless bunch but i agree this case has to be totally investigated i mean place yourself in the losing sides shoes especially the Rams.Whats the latest with Roger Clemens? i heard Barry Bonds is facing jailtime if proven guilty thank God i don't watch baseball
But the thing is it has already been investigated! There're trying to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq when there are none. Heard again last night Roger Goodell said he's not going to further any more 'investigations'. Good for him I say. People are just trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. I'd rather mr Senator worry about why I'm paying almost $4 for a gallon of gas.

And I hear you about how the losing sides might feel. . .but common we're looking at this as if the Pats had some great advantage. Taping in the NFL is allowed! just not from the sidelines which is what the pats did, big deal I say. That is not the reason those teams lost and the Pats won.

Roger Clemens just continues to shame himself and prove he's a liar. You musta heard about his "apology" to his family for "mistakes" which were basically him cheating on his wife. It looks like he has to drop his defamation suit against Mcnamee cos his rep is ruined as it's now been proven he's a liar. I dunno why he won't just come out and confess and set himself free. huh

Really dead horse.
or you don't want them to confirm your fears that the beloved Patriot cheated to win the superbowl. Investigate if they are innocent they will be vindicated. I hope they are not, give the superbowl back to the teams that deserve it. Mcnabb, hehe superbowl winning quarterback. sounds good.
lol . . . it even sounds good to me too, I like the guy smiley. The NFL has investigated and investigated and have said there is nuthin more to it. We all know Roger Goodell is a tough leader and takes things serious and he himself has said he is satisfied and there's nuthin more. And then for some bored, overfed, jobless senator to try to create a conspiracy where there's none at taxpayers expense angry that's what annoys me.
If Sen Spector wants to conduct an investigation from his own pocket, by all means, let him carry on. But there's no justification for a fishing expedition just becos "he is not satisfied".

Btw how do you feel now that the whole Spygate stuff is over with?
over with ke? did you hear Sen. Spector just couple days ago calling for "an independent investigation" into the tapes from the former Pats video guy? I tell you these Senators have nuthin better to do than to chase after the wind and waste taxpayer money. angry I'm all for policing sports sometimes when it is necessary but this is just beating a dead horse, at our expense.

Naah i am not but i don't think you deserve the ring if you don't win on the road. And trust me you guys will not win this championship if you don't win on the road, because championship teams always close out games on the road.
hate to admit it but you're right angry smiley maybe we'll make history as the only team to not win a road game and win the title cool wishful thinking, I know.
I do love teams and players that have that killer instinct, those that will lay it all out on the floor whether they win or lose. As much as I love Garnet he doesn't have it, that aggressiveness. The first 2-rds have def been eye-openers, for the Celtics and even for the city of Boston. We were already salivating for an nba title and I was already making plans to skip work and attend the parade when they won grin I know I was getting waaaaayyyy ahead of myself there. But I'm singing with George Micheal "I gotta have faith, faith, faitha!" grin

LASIEFAIRE:
The Soldier is held to the highest standard by the UCMJ, nums and values. He knew and very well recognized that his action was bound to start a spark if noticed. Considering that the Iraqi's are what fall short of fanatics when it comes to their religions, he should never have done it. The freedom enjoyed by the common citizen is not what is enjoyed my any Military personnel. His punishment might have been to harsh, but it comes with being a Soldier.
my brotha there are very few things the western world does that does not incur the wrath and anger of these people. Perhaps for the sake of peace the soldier should not have done it, but for military to pull him out and send him home was too harsh. After he had gone to Iraq to fight for his country, risking his life, this is how he gets thanked? The punishment exceeds the "crime" by far.
