Spurs -  Hornets? against my better judgement I'm going to pick the Hornets to win,  smiley I think they'll provide a better challenge and more intresting drama to the lakers than the tired old spurs could.
I knew it  smiley I knew I shoulda known better than to count the champs out. But that was a very uninspired effort by the Hornets, they did not play with a sense of urgency, they did not play like it was a game 7. What a sad way to end the season, they'll be hurting all summer long.

  A-40,
be like say the cavs loss really upset you? cheesy
hey if the Celtics keep on being babies on the road that is fine with me as long as they win at home! A championship is a championship though I concede it'll be a diminished one in the eyes of everyone (including themselves) if they cannot get over their road woes. Nevertheless based on observation I think the Celtics play better and harder against the tougher teams, I think the take they lesser teams for granted and hence keep getting caught unprepared. We'll see what happens tonight.

Besides Detroit also has their issues. . . have we all forgotten it wasn't that long ago everyone was insulting them for losing @ home game 1 to philly. It will be a fun series to watch - hopefully Green will win  cheesy

NOTHING should happen to him. these guys need to get their heads out of their behinds - why should shooting at an ordinary book cause so much ruckus?

Musulumis really need to realise there are more important things in the world than their 'Holy Book'. Why don't they protest about the Q'urans that get blown up by suicide bombers and all? Or is shooting at the Q'uran wrong while blowing it to bits allowed? grin
cheesy hmm me sef I would like to know the answer to that question.

what about printing presses that shred the ink stained copies with errors
should they also be punished.
These folks really amaze me
How about Iraquis and Mooslims that burn American flags, what shall we do to them?
If this had been the Bible, will any Christian be asking for a head on the platter.

The earlier they get it that the K'oran is nothing but a book to any non Mooslims and that the buyer is not obliged to do ablutions before touching and doing whatever they will to it,the better.
Would I do same as the soldier, absolutely not
Does he deserve punishment,what for?
anyone is entitled to treat his personal property however he deems fit, including wipe his butt after a bowel movement.
If the book is his,he can do whatever he wants with it from jotting down grocery list to wrapping his lunch.
The shooting may be an extreme but does he deserve punishment?
Absolutely not!
Well said n I agree. But the Military already dismissed the guy, and issued an apology including "Another military official kissed a The Q'oran and presented it as "a humble gift" to the tribal leaders." The U.S. army gave in to these people instead of standing behind their soldier who risked his life to serve his country.

It's funny one of the tribal leaders called it a "criminal act by US. forces" huh they probably will not rest until the soldier is beheaded or something

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/05/19/iraq.q'uran/index.html  (make sure you take the apostrophe sign out of the "q'uran" for the link to work properly since oga Seun's auto-change keeps messing up the link)

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Iraq's most powerful Sunni Arab political party on Monday said a US. soldier's desecration of the Q'uran, the M'uslim holy book, requires the "severest of punishments," not just an apology and a military reassignment.

Maj. Gen. Jeffery Hammond apologizes after a US. soldier admitted using the Q'uran for target practice.

The Iraqi I'slamic Party, the movement of Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi, condemned what it said was a "blatant assault on the sanctities of M'uslims all over the world."

An American staff sergeant who was a sniper section leader used a Q'uran for target practice on May 9.

The US. commander in Baghdad on Saturday issued a formal apology and read a letter of apology from the shooter.

The sergeant has been relieved of duty as a section leader "with prejudice," officially reprimanded by his commanding general, dismissed from his regiment and redeployed -- reassigned to the United States.
But the Iraqi I'slamic Party -- which said it reacted to the news "with deep resentment and indignation" -- wants the "severest of punishments" for the action to serve as a lesson for the future.

"Such assaults have recurred over the past few years; therefore, the apology alone is no longer sufficient," the party said in a statement. "The US. military should take preventative measures considering the feelings of M'uslims."

The statement added, "The Iraqi I'slamic Party demands the US. administration deal firmly with these violations. We also demand our government take an appropriate stance (or position) towards the enormity of the humiliation."

A tribal leader said "the criminal act by US. forces" took place at a shooting range at the Radhwaniya police station on Baghdad's western outskirts. After the shooters left, an Iraqi policeman found a target marked in the middle of the bullet-riddled The Great Book.

Copies of the pictures of the The Great Book obtained by CNN show multiple bullet holes and an expletive scrawled on one of its pages.

On Saturday, Maj. Gen. Jeffery Hammond, commander of US. forces in Baghdad, appeared at an apology ceremony flanked by leaders from Radhwaniya.  Watch Hammond issue an apology »

"I come before you here seeking your forgiveness," Hammond said to tribal leaders and others gathered. "In the most humble manner, I look in your eyes today, and I say please forgive me and my soldiers."

Another military official kissed a The Great Book and presented it as "a humble gift" to the tribal leaders."

What do you think should happen to this soldier?
Christianity EtcRe: Should Christians Practise Yoga by JeSoul(f): 4:42pm On May 19, 2008
AIO,

Pastor AIO:
man, I didn't mean to cause offence.  The 'snide' remarks are just my way of making the point.

Geometry, mathematics, music, and many more things that we consider to be basic parts of human culture had their origins with religious traditions.  Yoga makes reference to hindu gods, yes.  But exercising your limbs is not something unchristian.  Neither is meditation.  Not every yoga path involves chanting.  yet often the chanting is very onomatopoeic.  Nothing is actually been said.  It is the sound and the vibrations that matter.
you don't get what GP is trying to pass across, it's not just about the physical exercise, there's a whole lot more to yoga, the meditation, the chanting, the incense, the words and teaching and overall philosophy that is rooted in new age philosophies that goes against christianity. Furthermore there's a whole spiritual side to this issue that is also naked and hidden to the casual observer. There are spiritual implications to the things we do and open ourselves up to - and attentive christians are aware of this. You might see it as "just chanting" but you're not looking at this from a christian perspective. What to the rest of the world will come off as seemingly harmless, to the christian is not - if you study the bible and see that it warns us against these things.

It's not exercise or keeping fit thats being called into question, but yoga and its teachings/practices. Hope this clarifies things a bit.

phew. . . grin Boston in the East finals. . . That was a great game! I only caught the last quarter but what a game! Pierce vs. Lebron, one of the greatest duels I've seen in basketball. I am reminded why Pierce is my husband again  grin
But seriously I have a new found respect for Lebron. . .he was incredible but too bad he has no supporting cast, he can't do it by himself. On to the pistons 2moro night. . .gosh I hope the Celtics will even be able to get any rest at all . . .

The answer is really very simple, No. And any "christian" that tries to argue otherwise is just simply oblivious to the significance of such practices.

It's just pathetic for a number 1 team in any conference to get by just on home court advantage.[/quote]While I wouldn't have used the word "pathetic" but I do admit it bad for them so far not to have won on the road. But girl this is part of why you work so hard during the regular season to get home court advantage! This is their first playoffs together and now their insecurities and weaknesses are showing, but if they can get over them by simply holding serve at home then good, that's why they worked for home court anyways. I think this road thing is 90% mental. . .they had the best road record for crying out loud, it baffles me.

Lakers and Jazz - I'm watching the game now. Lakers should be scared of Jazz. Williams, Boozer and boys are just disgracing Lakers. I can't wait till the end of the game.
I think it is going to 7-games. . .and you never know what will happen in game 7.

I hope D'Antoni has some form of changing the Knicks. They need more than a good coach - they need more awesome players that can defend.
Please the knicks are a lost cause. . .Antoni was the wrong choice for this team in so many ways. We all know he followed the smell of the money lipsrsealed which was more than what Chi-town was willing to put on the table (but still I can't fault him for that though) He's too cool and takes a quiet, diminished approach- not good for that rogue team called the knicks. Plus he will get eaten up by the NY media. The only good thing is that expectations are so low right now so even if he improves them a little next season it'll be a successful one.

As an Obama supporter, I appreciate Mr. Edwards' support, but he should have done this a long time ago.

I lost a little respect for him today. He waited until it was politically safe to do this, I bet if Clinton were the perceived nominee we'd have seen a different endorsement. This was an opportunistic move.
Well said. The guy is gutless and spineless, never had much respect for him anyways and he's proving why. And I don't think his endorsement means as much as we'd like to believe - Edwards is not that overly influential that it would cause that major of a shift in favor Obama. Granted a good chunk of his delegates will move to Obama but he was going to take the nomination anyways - barring another Rev Wright episode lipsrsealed

If Jesus is God,

1. Who did he cry to on the cross that, 'my God, wh has thou forsaken me'?

2. Why did he say that no one is good but only the one in Heaven?

3. Why did he say that the one that sent him is greater than him?

4. Who did he cry to more than two times that the cup should be lifted from him.

Some verses are coming showing that God si greater than Jesus and they cannot be same.

Seriously, analyse the verse of the new testament to me, where Jesus said he came to fulfill the laws (Mosaic laws). And immediately states that even a jot will not be left on fulfilled by him. And finally warned that who ever discards it and encourage others to discard this (Mosaic Laws), that person and I suppose that theone who discards it are going to be known as least in the kingdom of heave.

Here are your question:
Anyone who does not obey this Jesus commandment and therefore discards the Mosaic laws that Jesus himself fulfilled, can that person be called a true follower of or obedient to Jesus?

Can anyone who disregards/discards Mosaic Laws, considering Jesus injuctions against it, can that person be a person of Paradise?

Can that person escape going to hellfire, at least for disobeying Jesus? Then discarding Moses Laws which Jesus himself obeyed and warned against any disobedience thereof?

Can least in the kingdom of heaven be anything but hellfire?

Do you know any christian alive today who is obeying Jeus in this regard, since the law of Moses is clearly talking about nothing, except that God Almighty is One, and clearly not 3 or anything human?

Struggle with your answer. I want a sincere answer! When you come to a conclusion, you will see that the Bible records that Jesus said that he will tell people to get away from him in the day of Judgement. He said that he does not know them. Even as they said to him that they had on the earth before prophetized and performed miracles in his name. Those very people are the 100% population of christians. They are the people who use his name instead of the name of his Creator since they invented Trinity wherein they make him god.

And so far no team in the 2nd Rd has won on the road except Det., I guess it's not just Boston who's got the blues. It kind of makes things intresting though, this yr, the players are going to have to work extremely hard to be the one.

The Spurs make me uneasy. . .you just never know when they'll revert to championship form.

You guys have completely missed the thrust of my post. I was making argument for the existence of evil. The Argument for Evil (AE) is one of the strongest and unsettling challenge for conventional theism. It basically states - if there is a benevolent god, then how come all the evil and suffering in the world. Either there is no god(s) OR the gods such as may exist are indifferent to the plight of his creation - hence the occurence of evil.
very funny.
How come then you are only going to challenge God's existence and not the devil?

You guys provide me with comic relief. You're claiming God must be aloof and uncaring because all this evil happens, when the bible has taught in so many ways the devil is here specifically to steal, kill and destroy - why don't you try blaming the devil for a change? why? or like my brotha said, maybe its just the effects of global warming or some other natural occuring phenomena?
did the thot ever occur to you and the other 'therorizers' that maybe its not that God is indifferent to the plight of mankind but that the devil could also be responsible for so much evil that we see? or that natural disasters are just that, natural and hence occur. think about that.
and while you're thinking flip to the Old Testament. . . you will see many instances of natural disasters that God caused and some that He didn't. The answers are already in front of you if only you'll soften your heart and recieve it.

Those of you who are accusing me of inconsistency, you simple do not understand the nature of the debate.  On this post, I was assuming there is a god and from that standpoint, I am trying to reconcile such a god with the existence of evil.
yeah whatever dude, you got caught  tongue. If you were indeed only assuming from the onset, why didn't you make that explicitly clear? You got caught dude, admit it.
