Darthmaul:Aww thank you sweerie TB-forry and Dayo, congrats on snagging game 1. Dirk looks unstoppable. JJ Barea is nuts. JET was also fantastic. I have to commend how well Dallas moved the ball - and fed whoever was hot - that's a winning formula. OKC still managed to make it a close game, they should be encouraged about their chances to play better in game 2. rasputinn:Yeah, and it was really nice to see Magic Johnson, Kobe and Lakers fans in here and around, who strongly critisized Bynum's actions. Now that is true sportsmanship! Mmmm yum yummy, lemme get some fresh juice to wash it all downJuice only? would you like something with a little more kick? Here's a tropical fruit margarita - https://www.hawaiimagazine.com/images/content/tropical_fresh_cocktails_recipe_Royal_Hawaiian_one/NaturallySpicedMargarita.jpg |
^lol. No suprise there. I never liked the dude self . . . a bit too fake on the surface and always comes off insincere and trying too hard to be 'real' and 'honest' . . . well at least to me. |
rasputinn:LOL ![]() I knew,I was just wondering whatever happened to fairness and sportsmanshipCommot dia jor which one be fairness and sportmanship? tell that to Andrew dunce Bynum when the overfed ogre was sticking an elbow in a defenseless midget halfway in the air. Fairness and sportsmanship will be extended to only those who deserve it ![]() |
@Jesoul Happy bday. Hope say our oga handle him biz *coughs*
Lol. Thank you my dear brother. And oh yeah. He handles his bizniz like it was no man's bizniz ![]() I hope the Bulls beat the snot out of those drama queens that are the Heat! And I'm backing them to win Game 2 and win the series in 5. Tom Thibodeau ȋ̝̊̅§ a defensive maestro and should be able 2 stop that two man teamLOL . . . kai! ppl dislike the Heat sha truth be told, they are drama queens. The "Cryami Heat" Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah are just ferocious in the middle . . . its hard to see the Heat able to win the rebounding battle - which to me is key to this series. As 4 my Mavs i can only hope they find a way to slow Westbrook down! Can't have both of em clicking in that series just can't!Men you have my full support TB40. A ring wouldn't look so bad on Dirk's finger lol. Plus J.Kidd @38yrs |

Darthmaul:Gbam left right center top down inside out. If we were being fanatical about something that was ours and was benefitting our own community, me I go shut up and siddon for corner. But the way people are insane over players and teams that barely look their direction . You say na bad management cause am. I agree. But na we be the managers now lol. Every game/team/club is only successful to the degree of the passion their fans. At least na so me I see am.I have to say from your post u re either a chelsea or an arsenal fan who must have joined the bandwagon perhaps during the "unbeaten era/mourinho era".(U already indicated that anyway). We TRUE FOOTBALL fans squeeze out time to watch most times. And I think this is great. Support local artists - it will benefit our people and culture. P.S. This Jesoul girl is one smart lady, I really like her well-thought out posts. Cheers |
Dis Guy:I certainly do appreciate the logistical challenges of European teams playing games on African soil . . . I daresay I'm more about going after the attitude and 'heart' of these teams towards their African fans. And FIFA I would classify as seperate from Euro teams/leagues and hence won't credit 'charity' done by FIFA to the EPL or Liga and co. FIFA generates profit worldwide, its only good business sense for them to continue feeding the cows they're milking abi? There's nothing standing in the way of say a ManU from doing their own separate 'goodwill works', rather than hiding under the branches of FIFA. And it doesn't even have to be on-location since we all know say Africa get plenty problem. Sometimes during NBA/NFL games, they acknowledge the audience that may be watching in Asia or Europe or Turkey (when there was a turkish player on the court). If dem no wan spend money, little things like that to show at least they are aware and appreciate the loyalty of these fans. So no, its not necessary to have a - dedicated website in yoruba/afrikaans? English is enough, i doubt Africans have a problem reading the thousands of website already available to football fans, too many languages in african anywayI'm talking more in terms of whatever kind of gesture of goodwill they can do to show they have at least 'noticed us'. the nba teams playing in europe make huge amount from their european tour, the cost of tickets in london is almost the same if not more than is charged in LA, NY etc Apart from safety and logistics involved charge the same gate fee in Africa will be exploitation,Lol . . . ehen now, we self are shooting ourselves in our own feet lol. If we respected ourselves like we should, the rest of the world would respect us more. Average ticket price is about N8000> Portsmouth , Man U played in Abuja, Tottenham will be playing in SA this summer after several logistics/contract issue since 2 years agoAppreciated. I did not previously know this. |
Congrats Bulls on taking game 1 quite easily. The Bulls do not have the same weaknesses the Celtics did, and Miami is going to find out how difficult it is to play a team that actually rebounds the ball very well, and has a lot of young, athletic bigs in the middle. All those layup parties will be much reduced for Wade and James. rasputinn:Uhm Duh? the Celtics are my team now so they gats to be made to look good even when they lose . . . the Lakers are are full of brats and thugs so they deserve a rickety canoe. Abi you no see am like that? ![]() |

Dis Guy:I agree with you, I'm a sports enthusiast myself watching everything including golf. But the OPs point (and I second it) is that it has reached an unhealthy level of collective mass hysteria. Sports is to be enjoyed - in its proper perspective. The OP did mention why not channel our passion towards our own local leagues where it can directly profit us and our communities. Secondly, there are many Africans/Nigerians playing the sport in different leagues all over the world earning a decent living entertaining millions and developing their immediately environmentAgain see my previous comment. Its not that we can watch or enjoy or support our people over there & the foreign clubs of our choice, but rather the unhealthy fanaticism that has taken over. several clubs have affiliations with African teams, they support hospitals in the locality or help raise funds for players heading several ngos in africaI pay attention to most sports around the globe and I admit if they do this, I haven't heard much about it. Take for instance the NBA or the NFL (american football). They have regular season games in Europe and have an assortment of bball or football programs held all the way in China, Japan, and even Africa. During the season, they have the players wear jerseys with spanish language on it to show their consideration for the spanish-speaking/south american audience. The NBA even has a seperate website specifically geared towards spanish speakers, with a focus on spanish players/issues. When was the last time an EPL team held a game in Africa? (yes I know its hard to do that because of political/social instability but I hope you get my point). When have they ever worn jerseys in Yoruba or Afrikaans to show they care about their african audience? Do they have a dedicated website to us? Do they come ever summer/few months to hold free camps & workshops? If these clubs do have affiliations with local teams and help support, then thanks for schooling me on that. But from a birds perspective, it doesn't appear to me they go out of their way or bottomline to acknowledge their huge african audience. |
^ah its not the same oh . . . being swept is like having your lunch & dinner money taken, after you were beaten up by a smaller boy in front of the whole class, then upon getting home, his mum instead of consoling him, slapped him for not fighting back They're both still fishing together sha https://i53.tinypic.com/2lscxol.png Rumor has it some Lakers may also be joining the Wizard of Oz cast this summer . . . isn't Pau Gasol pwetty? ![]() https://photos.imageevent.com/johansen01/pixelpeepersdelight/nbagonefishin/Lakers-of-Oz_v-2011a.jpg |
^better than getting swept wipe-off-your-mouth clean or should I say vaccumed? The Celtics competed and kept the games close and just couldn't close out . . . Lebron got tired of losing to us - 4yrs in the playoffs now. We dashed him this one ![]() |
Laajman:If only we can get just 50% of EPL addicts in Naija to re-think just like you . . . I asked one NLder once, he response was that Nigerians are so into euro soccer because to them its a form of escapism, a temporary means of relief or distraction from the hardship of Naija life. A means of channeling their anger and depression and converting it into a means of 'catching fun'. I have always wondered about the fervency of love and passion wholly devoted to clubs and people and players that couldn't give any less of a damn towards Africa/Africans than they already do. Talk about misplaced passion. I guess its something psychological. |
This place is dry self . . . no Celtic jokes or mocking? This is where Bawo would've shined We miss you bro.I'm proud of the effort my celtics put up, LeBron's desire unfortunately trumped anything the men in green could come up with. Plus this should silence some of Lebron's 'unable to finish games' criticisms. Happy Summer Celtics! lol OgidiBoy:Actually I think this is good for the league and ratings to see other smaller market teams going higher up in the playoffs. Honestly its kind of boring and predictable to see LA, Bos, SA there year and year. This adds a ton of spice and intrigue to the remainder of the playoffs. |
^Katsumoto, long time . I hope you have been well.Katsumoto:You're on the wrong thread . . . or is it wrong century? Its an entirely seperate matter if you want to debate the legitimacy of the current system of law and government - based on events that occured long long before it was even established. That one na philosophy . . . here, we're talking policy. What about policies and actions of the US in several countries that promoted and and protected US interests while producing negative effects in the non-US countries? The US was involved in Panama, Nigeria, Congo, Afghanistan, Colombia, most of Central America, the middle east etc.I think a lot of the time we Africans choose to be deliberately naive about world affairs. Katsumoto the entire world is enagaged in a ego battle - always has - every nation is tussling for power and control and resources and we all manipulate situations as best to our advantage. Does it make it right or should I say, moral? of course not. But that's how the world turns - and do you think for a second if Naija was America, that we would act any differently? Furthermore, we enjoy pointing to the negative effects of American presence or interference in other nations. Truth be told, you're right. But I always like to remind that the same America doles out billions in aid to these same countries. Nigeria is slated to receive some $600mill this yr, most of it going to battle disease and poverty . . . see the front page story today on the Nigerian adaptation of Sesame Street debuting on NTA - where did the funding coming from? USAID - in other words US taxpayers. Lets always look at both sides of the coin. Nobody wants handouts but most want to be able to develop at their own pace instead of having US puppets installed as leaders. No one would go and be an illegal immigrant in another country if their are economic opportunites at home. If the US doesn't want to help, then it SHOULD pay back the higher of what was gained by the US or lost by the other countries. And who does the installation Katsumoto? did Obama vote in Jonathan? Did the US plant corrupt members in NASS? The recurring religious/ethnic violence, is that also as a result of western interference? I will be among the first to agree that on many major developments, there is probably a western finger pushing some buttons to their advantage - no doubt. But I will also fiercely contend that the vast majority of our problems are self-inflicted. |
Its actually not really that weird I think. These kinds of growth abnormalities happen from time to time and usually have no explainable 'cause'. The human body is an incredibly complex system such that a small disruption or 'imbalance' can result in such tumors or growths. |
^That is a question for Seun, the Admin of the site. You can find him in the NL section. |
no! Am not saying he should be left, infact bin laden should have been a forgotten case long before now. They met him unarmed yet they killed him, the america I've heard of will need him more alive than dead. You ask me of a country they have distabilized? Does someone here agree with me that Iraq was better off with saddam 4 starters?
The people in the WTC and at the Pentagon were also unarmed. Did Binladen give them notification and ask their permission before murdering them? |
chiogo:Lol. Correct talk jare. As a Celtic fan I hate to see us lose, but as a basketball fan it'll be nice to see someone other than the typical lakers, Boston, SA win a championship. I really don't want the heat to win, grew a dislike for LeBron and Wade this past season and Bosh is just ugly. dayokanu:Lol. Why now? I wouldn't mind seeing the Heat win it all because LeBron deserves a ring - too bad wade and bosh will also benefit. LeBron is a good guy, he's played it straight his whole career and never gets into any trouble, he's been a model nba citizen and should get his due. |
Haters be gone jare lol. men see these old Celtics, trying to join LA fishing. I watched only the last few mins, enough to see the offense is so stagnant. its hard not to imagine Miami will close out at home on Wednesday unless a collapse is in their future. Oya Celtics fans in the house its time to contact ur local juju practitioners cos the situation don serious oh ![]() |
Make una sofry dey yab these Lakers team ooh remember they did a repeat and are still a great team! Classless maybe but still great
Abeg stop being modest jor revel in your total victory ![]() Its not so much that the lakers got embarrasingly swept - but the show of disgrace and arrogance from the tandem of Bynum, Odom and Artest that is drawing ire from nba fans. I normally sheath my yabs, but it is fully deserved in this instance. I do commend Kobe's comments/handling of the whole thing though, very mature and well done, fitting for an ambassador of the league, unlike some idiotas with nuthin but marshmallows for brains. I just can't stand dirty players, its such a stain on the game. |
http://chasing23.com/phil-jacksons-last-dance/ Congratulations to the 1991 Detroit Pistons!Bynum's comments after the game: "We were getting embarrassed, they were breaking us down. So I just fouled somebody," Bynum said after the game. "I was just kind of salty about being embarrassed. , For me, it was embarrassing to have the smallest guy on the court keep running down the lane and making shots."What an arrogant, overfed, overrated dunce *hiss* instead of you to show a little class by being remorseful and apologizing for your childish tantrum, you open your mouth and confirm there's only air btw your ears. Because your 7 foot ego was getting embarrased by a small boy, its okay to attempt murder? That kind of foul could have ended Barea's career. Bynum was suspended ealier in the season when he did this and sent Michael Beasley to the hospital. I can't stand dirty players like these . . . Kobe and Fisher should please slap some hard sense into him. |

Stojakovic is sumn else tho what a pickup!
Stojakovic was a monster back when he was with Sacramento during the Chris Webber, Vlade Divac, Bobby Jackson era. He stumbled past few yrs but seems to be clicking at the right time with Dallas. Good job to your boys men! |
The lakers problem getting swept was not talent or lack of bench, it was simply attitude, arrogance and lack of effort. I just saw that play of Bynum taking out Barea with an elbow . . . I've always disliked bynum n his immaturity. What a loser. I hope he gets suspended for a few games next season. That was cheap and uncalled for, and has no place in the nba. Get lost jare. Hiss. Add to that Artest clotheslining JJ, Odom taking down Dirk . . . the true colors of the lakers came out clearly. Outside of kobe, absolutely zero class. Anyways good riddance LA. We will not miss u . r231, The same oklahoma that is struggling to beat #8 seed memphis? |
On behalf of all Celtics fans and other rivals of the lakers THANK YOU DALLAS MAVERICKS!!!!!!! ![]() Lakers swept? Who woulda predicted this? where are all the lakers fans in here? Oya come and chop yab lol. I will honor u all with some nice pics in a short minute. |
Bawss1:I wonder oh. I am just suprised that something as irrelevant and inconsequential and utterly meaningless as whose name appears first on an invitation is actually being fussed over na wa oh. I designed my invites, and it didn't even cross my mind what 'appropriate' order to put names in. Mine appeared first on the invitations, and his was first on the program and other things. @OP, why does your fiance care about something so irrelevant? Anyways, if it'll make him happy, then go along peacefully, there are no 'rules' for ones wedding. Do it as you see fit. |
