Is that Spikyn I see? Long time, how now? spikyn:Abeg jor . . . stop letting the facts get in the way of a juicy story ![]() mydreamz:Yet. |
dayokanu:Unfortunately, that's the way the Bulls team is built for the most part - DR is the top scorer, its unfortunate that he also happens to be the PG who's expected to dish it out equally too. That's why he was the MVP - most valuable player to his team. Take him out and they fall apart. All in all, I do think Chicago matches very well with Miami and can beat them - I think they're just getting nervous and showing their youth in the face of Miami's intensity and desire to win. So are you over that Durant dunk yet? or we go see part 2 tonite? ![]() |
mazaje: Playa#1. Talk true, how many girls have you said that to in the past 6 months? dem less pass at least 10? I no mind yacht sha lol. Yes ohh. . .Man gas dey move around ohh. . . .Teenage atheist abilol. Its true now. These pimpled faced teeny boppers wey dey vex say mummy and daddy have been forcing them to go to church so they're venting here and don't want the rest of us to hia word. Abeg carry on with the globe-trotting and conquering . . . more fire to your engine jare. Just take small time to dey greet us for hia, preferably with some green foldable grease from your mog pals for our hands and purses ![]() |
Poor Chicago. Seems like if Derrick Rose doesn't score a lot of points they can't win - especially when they're facing a very solid Miami defense. Plus Chicago is showing some of their lack of veteran presence and calm during crunch time. And I should give Christiana Bosh his credit, that was the game of his career. Dallas - OKC tonite . . . I expect dallas to put their feet on okc's neck lol. But I never underestimate these yougins . . . Durant is not going to have 2 bad shooting games in a row. |
Katsumoto, forgive the tardiness of the reply . . . Katsumoto:Yes oh. We thank God. Of course you are talking policy; quite analogous to how a group of thieves discuss whether to share loot from past raids with new gang members. They ask themselves and other bystanders (who are powerless to their might) whether it is morally right to share the loot with new members. In your opinion, what should the US govt. do? hand over all power back to the Native Indians? Oh yes lets look at both sides of the coin. You steal $20 from me and give me $2 in return. To buttress the point Negro NTNs was making, developed nations can not continue with their policies which are self-serving while not expecting mass migrations to their countries. Economics 101, people will flock to where there is opportunity. Like Africans say, 'the pikin wey talk say hin mama no go sleep, himself no go sleep'.No issues with mass migration to Europe and the Americas - they were given visas to get in there in the first place anyways. Every country knows that 'importing' 'talent' that will contribute your economy is good for business. And immigrants contribute a hell of a lot to many countries. About the steal $20 and pay back $2 . . . we were stolen from truthfully, but don't also forget some of our own people aided and abetted the criminals - the same problem we have today in my opinion. I don't think the exploitation would've been possible or as massive if we ourselves hadn't opened the doors - one of the reasons I frequently pull in the reigns when we start pointing fingers westward. It is true many of these foreign countries are exploiting African nations to their own benefit and interest - there is no doubt about that, and unfortunately how the world works. There are no friends or good samaritans in world affairs - just individual nations trying to screw & outwit each other to their own benefit. So we cannot be naive or surprised at this. And it is also true that it is us who have allowed ourselves to be taken advantage of. Just take a passing look at Africa's current crop of 'leaders'. Need I say more? Not all Africans are naive; some are taking action. Whether you and I agree with their methods is one thing but we have to agree that they are getting somewhere. And this is what we should all be doing - taking action! instead of crying over spilt milk and forever playing the victim card. We are not the only nation to be victimized, yet we have chosen to remain and continue perpetuating it. I mean see even our neighbor Ghana, see how much progress they've made. Granted its a much smaller and manageable country, but hope you get the point. Obama did not vote in Jonathan but Obama and the EU kept mute in the face of electoral fraud as they don't want any thing that will disrupt the supply of Brent Crude. Any disturbance in the ND would have ensured that the price of oil pushed higher causing further damage to the US and EU economies. This is pure speculation Kat. Do a poll here in the politics section, how many Nigerians agree with election was rigged? Is it up to 40, 50%? I don't have enough reason to doubt the results because even in advanced nations, it is extremely rare and difficult for an incumbent to loose an election. Also, Obama wasn't there when the foundations for Nigeria were laid. Nigeria, like other African countries, continue to grapple with the effects of colonisation and country formation by European countries. As if these original efforts weren't enough, they continue to frustrate genuine desire for change so as to keep having access to rich resources. Whilst Africans are killing themselves, the US and the EU continue to sell arms to both sides. If arms are not being sold to rebels and govts at the same time, arms are sold to corrupt and illegimate military govts.1,000,000% Right and truly unfortunate for us. There was a fantastic thread in the general politics section that debated the extent of how much colonization still affects us today. I don't want to go into who is selling the arms (western govts. or western corporations or western dealers) because for me, personally, at the end of the day, it is the African who picks up the gun, loads it and fires on his brother, sister, mother and father - that is guilty. They cannot be successful at selling to us, if we are not buying it. You say its like a man trying to play ping pong with his hands tied behind his back . . . you are right, except that it is his own brother who tied his hands. African will get there in the end ; heck China only freed itself from western influence 50 years ago after several centuries of oppression from the mongols, Japanese, and the western nations. The same China has just turned the table on those nations.Amen oh! I hope I see it in my own lifetime. |
@Cmeo, Denzel is right. Try to speak a little more slowly, pronouncing your words clearly and deliberately (think of ex UN head Kofi Annan's style of speaking. Listen to this interview session and try to learn to pattern your speaking/response style like him, 'slow', controlled and deliberate pronounciations. [flash=400,300] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRIFHjRYB9I?fs=1&hl=en_US"[/flash] Trying to 'change' or 'adapt' your accent is tricky as you might just end up butchering the word/s altogether and sounding like _____. Some people's accent will never change, others will, but I believe if you're deliberate about pronouncing your words carefully, that will help you immensely. If you'd still like to change/adapt your accent, I think the most seamless and natural way is to spend a lot of time with your american friends. |
^lol. Private jet? na so you dey roll? lol. Nlders we get big big man for our midst oh. Oya which church have you been collecting tithes from? And you know me I hate flying . . . last flight was turbulent the entire 8hrs, I almost had a nervous breakdown. From now on, any flight longer than 1hr, I need sleeping pills. Shey you have plenty of medication on board? Seriously, I'm glad you're well dear, Denmark is the new location? you should post more . . . these new breed of teenage atheists can learn a thing or two from you. |
I was just thinking of you yesterday Mazaje. You self haven't been around posting. Hope you have been well. @topic, this section goes thru seasons . . . |
Chiogo, I got my Rasputin, aww thank you dear and you are more than welcome. Hope you enjoyed the drink ![]() Roland17:Lol. Spot on . . . I think lol. I slept thru the 4Q, so the guy was benched in favor of Maynor? lol. Maynor did seem to be able to hold Barea in check from the little I saw in the first 3Qs. I cannot laugh. Here's what I said some months ago at a game I attended - JeSoul:Seems his ball hog style was good enough when OKC was content to be an 'up & coming team'. Now they have championship aspirations they realize they need more a team effort to beat quality teams. It will be interesting to see how the coach approaches game 3. Where is that Dayokanu of a guy? does he only show up when the Mavs win? ![]() |
^and we don't know they wouldn't have gone ahead and shot her anyways and the fact they still didn't even take the car after they'd shot her down supports that. Unless you're actually in the situation one can't really say what was the 'best' thing to do. |
Thanks for your concern guys, I'm getting better now. Na, it wasn't in Naija, I was supposed to travel back for xmas the next week. On that night I went out with one of my ex-CU dudes. We went to several parties and then a bar, by the time it was 11pm I had drunk soo much, I told waxy to drive. As we were on our way home we we're crossed and some gun wielding men and boys came, pulled us out, asked for the owner of the car I said I was, they knocked waxy in the head and shot him in the back then took me in and drove off to a secluded place. Asked me to disable the security system and tracker I said fu,ck no, I am not losing two new cars in the space of 1 year next thing I was slapped and then the shots began they all shot at me. Funny enuf I wasn't feeling much pain There I lay for almost an hour bleeding and No one was coming. I was bleeding seriously, felt myself going, started feeling cold and thirsty then I started hallucinating seeing some funny stuff. Looked up, saw I still had my car smiled to myself and Next thing I passed out. Next time I woke it was 2011 january ending. The Docs told me I was a very lucky dude, on the night I was shot I had enuf alcohol in my tummy and system to get 3 men arrested. Said I was near Toxic dose. I should have died from the pain alone from d gun injuries but He said I was so numbed and sedated by the alcohol That's probably what saved my life. Well since then I have gone through several surgeries to remove some fragments that couldn't be gotten when I was unstable. my folks brought me home and now since I'm stronger I've started proper physio. I plan to be up and running by ending of july when my brother will be graduating from CU. So don't thank God or god for my life. Thank the nearest bottle of beer, whiskey, gin and scotch. All the days of my life I will forever kiss d bottle. Whoever said alcohol is a bad thing, well tell that to the marines.
Infact, I am just speechless. Wow. Tudor you're a survivor men. Whether you like it or not, I just thanked God for your life. Abeg speediest and fullest of recovery be yours. Did they catch the scum who shot you? |

livin: Its not that they're not simple, its that their faith is not strong enough to power a jet yet.newmi:Is it okay for a pastor to drive in his 2012 Cadillac escalade past his congregation who are waiting at the bus stop to catch danfo to go to their 3rd job just to make ends meet? A pastor is first and above all called to serve - the sheep and not himself. No one is saying they should live destitute, poverty-stricken lives, but the gospel is not a cash cow by which one uses to shamelessly enrich himself at the expense of his gullible flock. |
GODSON2009:Gbam. Finito. My brother they tell us they're "spreading the gospel" . . . one can only laugh. They're travelling to London, Switzerland, US etc . . . They're going to 'spread the gospel' to the same 'people' who brought us the gospel in the first place. Imagine Chuks in computer village in Lagos going to Silicon Valley in California to spread the good news of the new intel operating system. |
^Come self, Zikky, be like say me self no read that post well well. Its not even a case of which source is true - As you pointed out, Patrick45 says his pastor Adeyemi drives to church every sunday morning - (Joagbaje) how does this stretch to mean Adeyemi does not own a plane? Is he supposed to fly his plane to church every sunday? |
Joagbaje:Hmm, this a very tough call . . . which source should we trust? Forbes? or patrick45? |
GODSON2009:Just wait for them to come and tell us the MOG schedule is a very busy one and they need to move around with ease and to distant lands. $225million dollars in one year on aeronautic toys . . . oh well. Nigerians have always been a flashy, extravagant people, MOGs are just continuing in that tradition. |
reindeer:Plucked the thought right outta my head lol. |
MyJoe:. . . and don't forget you're also a white-man backside kisser and a sell-out to your race. During the Haiti earthquake someone came to Nairaland to let us in on the fact it was the US that caused the earthquake so that their military can move into Haiti, occupy the country and begin stealing its oil. Anyone who disagreed with that was dumb.Lol. I think I remember seeing something like that. Have you also seen the allegation (during the initial flare-up of violence in libya) stating that Al-Jazeera because they were also showing videos of violence is under the control of the Western media? Wetin pesin no go read for here. Not really. He made a jibe about issues I don't understand, so I had to state the fact for him. I actually came into this thread to pick the mind of the Congolese chap on some issues, but this guy had to dive at my post, quoting it and throwing his kaleidoscopic conjectures at it, thereby succeeding in forcing me to waste time responding to him.lol. Don't mind me. I was just jabbing. Since Cap never ceases to remind us how intelligent and knowledgeable he is compared to the rest of us dolts, I was simply wondering how dare you challenge that MyJoe. Yeah the Congolesian was also the one that made me read on. One can feel his pain and how he bleeds for his country. |
You need to calm down and stop pounding the keyboard. There's no need for insults or 'flexing' your 'knowledge' over others, we already established that you are by far smarter and more knowledgeable than anyone else here. No one can take that title from you so have no fears. And btw, pls produce the quote of 'that nlder' that said I have no knowledge of history - it was you. Same tactic you use whenever someone dares to disagree with you. MyJoe:MyJoe, I think you're looking for trouble! |
^As expected. Anyways I have no interest in 'back and forthing' with you. I merely wanted to point out to silent readers the jungle logic you always use in approaching virtually every subject matter related to foreign affairs - "Blame the US". You say you're pointing out the "root cause" but from your very first post, no single mention or condemnation of the actual perpetrators - it was the same ol' sad song - blame America - insinuating into the argument that the r.apists are under some sort of spell or orders or 'it wasn't their fault rape occured since the US started it". As long as you continue to yarn dust like this, people will continue to call you out in this section. I would hate for history to show that people on NL kept silent while such twisted propaganda was propagated. |
Dis Guy:The bad management of the Naija league seems to be the issue folks are pointing out here. While I do agree, it seems like we're passing the buck by simply pointing at 'bad management'. Demand fuels supply. How many of us would chip in - time-wise, money-wise, passion-wise - to the growth and re-development of our own league? I think until we take ownership of our problem, it will not be solved. It is we who can be the managers and financiers of tomorrows successful league. But wetin me self I know lol. Anways, one more comment. A few people mentioned other countries (and leagues) have fans that are just as insane and fanatical as Nigerians and so why can't we enjoy ourselves? Well, its true crazy fans come in all colors and nations . . . but the only difference is Africans have something to lose, whereas Europeans, Americans & Asians don't. They can afford to spend all that time and attention on frivolous undertakings, whereas we can't. They can fix a road devastated by an earthquake in 6 days, we can't do it in 6yrs. If we're going to fix our broken country, we cannot afford to be a distracted nation, expending our passion on a fruitless pursuit. A nation chucked full of zombies uniformed in club wear, who are able to recite starting line-ups in their sleep, but cannot read or write if their lives depended on it. |
MyJoe:Honestly, the thing is truly unnerving. The logic is so warped that even if we concede that the US is funding these warlords, how does this excuse the actual r.apists who are r.aping their own mothers and sisters and daughters? Aren't they the ones doing it to their own people? R.ape is such a terrible crime - the most terrible crime after murder. To exculpate from blame the demons who are committing the crime is just unacceptable. Its one thing to exhibit distrust and dislike towards Western powers - and its quite another to be so blinded in your antagonism to resort to such jungle logic. May God have mercy. |
*shudders* There's probably a good explanation for the occurence but still *shudders* lol. Maybe it was the square watermelons they started making few years ago . . . Square Fruit Stuns Japanese Shoppers https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-317075.0.html |
Pastor AIO:Question. Where have you been hearing this from? |
cap28:This is disturbing logic. Very disturbing logic. The US over history has had a hand in contributing to the destabilization of the region - true. Did the US also order and force those poor excuses of men to pull out the diseased thing hanging btw their cursed legs and force it into defenseless women and girls? When the heck are you going to hold the people who actually commit these atrocities responsible for their own actions? |
