99% of Nairalanders.cannot.cling.Gwoza hills. This is the truth. I have climbed hills before. You get breathless after 50m Why is Buratai in Gwoza?. Gwoza is home of MOPOL training school. It was captured by Boko Haram at least twice but now secured. Some of those MOPOL and Police ATF being trained are going to Borno State to take over from some Nigerian Army formations. If you dont know jack, keep your mouth shut Jack. |
kabe1:What AutoKraz model/type are we buying? |
GamalNasser:The man is a FOOL. There is muslim Sunni (Saudi Arabia) and muslim Shiite (Iran). Traditional US policy is to balance the two against each other. Iran is Shiite and Iraq is also majority Shiite. If you put down Shiite in the Gulf region, you are strengthening Sunni. Sunni by the way is ISIS. Some of us christians are so scared of Islam as a corporate religion, we dont even know that there are differences and sensitivities and two Islams must be balanced. Trump is another illiterate President like Bush and is adding mistakes upon mistakes by using layman gut feel instead of talking to experts and crafting strategy. All these talk, is Iran scared?. Come off it |
valuedammy:There are 5 light-railway lines, access roads from Dangote Refinery, Oshodi interchange, many ferries , Badagry expressway, 4th mainland bridge, finishing of a very big rice mill. If they spend this amount of money for the next 4 yrs they will finish all these projects. |
writefreely:Nigeria has never had an un-intelligent person in power. Even Abacha was very intelligent and by the way a very very good business man. Intelligence is not being bookish. GEJ was not intelligent but he had PhD The issue is MENTALITY not book knowledge or even work experience. Sankara of Bourkina Faso for instance had good mentality but ordinary soldier. Professor Busia of Uganda, good academic qualifications but poor mentality. |
shadeyinka:Most young Nigerian educated folk fall easily for TECHNOCRACY. I dont blame them. It is the mistake that technical skills equal leadership ability, passion, ideological fervour and love of country. Let me mention a few names - Putin, Erdogan, Trump, Boris Johnson, Kagame, Modi of India. Are these technocrats?. NO. They are however symbols of some aspiration of a temporary majority of people. They are also perceived to love their countries more than the opponents, that is why they are in office. These leaders employ technocrats and give them their requirements. The Sultans of UAE dont know more than Islamic injunctions but see what they built?. They bought everything with money. They loved their countries and adopted the attitude that nothing is too good for my country. This craze for technocratic ministers is because of failings in the civil service of the FG and States. I always say Nigerians should try to improve the quality of their civil service. Maybe then they will see that their problem wont be solved having techno ministers. The French civil service was almost the best in the world for 200 years due to good quality recruitment from the elite university called L'ecole Polytechnique. Who set all this up for France?. Probably General De Gaule and he was NOT a technocrat. In fact De Gaule was a stubborn cranky old man BUT "I love my people, I want the betst for them " that was always his attitude even when France was under occupation by Germany. Technocracy cannot give you that spirit. My problem with western bred technocrats like Akinwunmi Adesina is that they buy into BS coming from International Financial institutions and aid agencies and usually are lacking in originality. They have ZERO local knowledge and will usually profer STUPID solutions - like saying the problem with Nigerian agriculture is fertilizer diversion so an IT system and phone app solves the problem. BULLSHIT. Nigeria 's agriculture problem was complex from inputs to adulteration to lack of training to access to land to finance to lack of nechanization to lack of market access to spoilage et.c One minister I currently admire is Amechi Rotimi. He is not a technocrat. BA in English. However is attitude is that of a model minister - " I want this for my country, I want it in two years, I want to be able to tell presido that the trains are running in 2020". SIMPLE. President Kennedy- "we want to be in space by so and so year, What do you need?" |
slimfit1:We have seen the benefit. About $750m facility from AfDB. He is actually more useful to us in AfDB than he was as agriculture minister. As agriculture minister it was phone app for fertilizer. Rubbish. Audu Ogbeh / Buhari solve the fertilizer problem getting phosphate from Morocco and establishing blending plants with Nigerian urea/nitrogen. Problem solved |
teadrake:Nothing was achieved during his tenure in agric. Trust me, I know what I am talking about. I am into agriculture along with other things. As at 2014, the whole thing was in dis array. So under him there was a lot of noise and flash but very little was happening. in his final months in office, Nigeria was still importing lots of palm oil. Nigeria was almost doubling rice importation. Only the Buhari regime has come to do the necessary DISRUPTION through temporary border closure to expose the causes of the problems. |
Soulsymbol99:I dont think so. He is very good at what he does. He is widely exposed but he cannot govern Nigeria. It is not a good CV job. |
wink2015:When the railways start working shey you will shut up? Since we know Buhari has not violated the federal character rule if you calculate it state by state shey you will bury your head in shame?. Since local farmers and manufacturers have started developing scale economics and making profit whet you will keep quiet? |
Racoon:Reckless and indiscriminate taxation? . Go and live in the US or Europe . You will know taxation. This my country- people are just not serious. The average citizen of developed countries pays 60%taxes. 30% of the taxes are hidden and built into services. Here government is even subsidizing petroleum for you and you are still talking. |
giles14:I agree. That's why I say SU 57 is not a stealth aircraft. It is low observation profile aircraft with paint, radar jamming and some rudimentary stealth external profile. This aircraft would struggle to.be called 5th Gen. The Chinese are actually closer to 5th Gen. capability with their J 20. People should get real about Russia. It is the worlds largest nuclear inventory holder, it probably still fields the largest number of tanks and its space technology / program is more reliable and robust than US. However Russia is NOT a super power any more. It is a middle power in the same class as Turkey. China and India have more bragging rights at eventually challenging US for world domination than Russia. Thus is even.more true when.you look at emerging.technology adoption - AI, IoT, et.c |
kabe1:This is a stretch. Pls be realistic. France will send planes from Paris, refuel twice to destroy air bases at Kainji and Makurdi. The mission reliability of this is probably 15%. So they probably do this successfully once in six missions. They better be carrying more than 20 tons of bombs/missiles.....LOL. They get only one chance but Nigeria has options. The most childish thing is assessing military power and strength (even these two dont mean the same thing) by comparing numbers and types of aircraft and tanks. It is amateur stuff. There are many."elements of national power ". |
CSTR2:Correct. However what I read from this is that there is prevailing global economic recession. 2020 is going to be the last of the 'rough' years. By 2021 we would have finished some major infrastructure projects which will unleash service sector growth especially tourism, developed agro based industries and sustainable solid minerals. |
Yankiss:By GDP figures alone, Lagos State should be on N5Tr annual expenditure. There are at least 22 million dwellers and at least 5 million people In Ogun State should be contributing to Lagos revenue as well through what they pay for services they consume when.they drive thro or do business in Lagos. I wish I was running this state. |
kabe1:You would need a map of west africa, types and inventory of aircraft and aircraft nos, types and conbat range(s). The nearest airfield is southern Niger Republic Diffa. The toughest they can field are 2 old MIG 29s. Algeria is too far to come close. Mali too far. Cameroon can field Alpha jets. It is a ridiculously "quiet" neighborhood that Nigeria is in. Even France would need to refuel their Mirage 2000s mid-air to reach Nigeria. Good luck with that- our strike airfields are smack in the middle of the country. I have been advocating for a large 4++ Gen combat aircraft as well but only for protection of the Gulf of Guinea off shore oil installations. Nigerias power projection in W.Africa is seaward. We will close sea lanes, muscle into your ports and land troops. We are buying LSTs and coast hugging attack crafts. Buying SUs and MIGs are such a waste, we should keep any of them acquired to just six aircraft. |
PrinxArthur1:Compiled from numerous online defense sources. I look at the exposed exhaust of SU 57 and the amateurish attempt at trying to achieve both stealth and dogfighting maneuverability simultaneously and I just know it is too much vodka flowing in those design bureaus |
Social INVESTMENT Program. That is what the entire suite of programs is called. It is an INVESTMENT in people. For university graduates Nigeria reaps her investment in a few years. For primary school kids, it is a longer term investment . If you call it waste, you are cursing yourself. Go back to Abayi to sell your second hand clothes to keke napep drivers or whatever other joke your PDP has turned your short term gain, myopic and unhappy country to. Buhari is trying to invest in a fresh new generation. The kids deserve it. Dangote is almost spending JUST ZERO of his own money building a refinery. The FG is subsidizing his Forex, standing behind his international loans, guaranteeing is local markets et.c. Let poor man pikin enjoy primary education with free feeding. There is 1 genius in every 10 kids. There are 3 Dangotes in.every.15 kids. We will give them the opportunity |
aspirebig:Keeping farmers in business is waste? Go to China now. There is school feeding. #6G...ode |
Bobbysmicky:I keep saying it that Nigerians are sub-human. PDP has stolen more than your senses. Even your souls are gone. I was in primary school in Lagos State more than 50 years ago and I enjoyed meals everyday. It was military regime in Nigeria then. The girls did the serving of the food then I remember .... It saddens me when I traffic this kind of trash you wrote. The uk also had school feeding. You say it is a waste of money. Go and tell that to thousands of farmers who are supplying the program and employing hundreds of thousands of people. We now know Nigerias N500bn annual food waste has reduced condiderably due to this program Ole boy, your generation hen now to die fir suffer and I have no sympathy for you guys. You deserve PDP govts. |
Niger Delta people need psycho-spiritual help. Including the dunce from Otuoke who is hero to some empty young simpletons. These things should not be happening. There is ni problem with Nigeria, its structure or its institutions. It is evil, corrupt and empty PEOPLE. What a shame? Ope s. Ode s |
DMerciful:Are you scared?. Why Buhari is reducing the no of troops in first quarter 2020 is money. Security is costing Nigeria N700bn in allowances, fuel and food alone. I think Boko is largely defeated. The super camp strategy is working . If they just receive more choppers, they will wrap up the nonsense. It is also funny that France is reducing their troops and the US is closing their Niger Republic drone base. Better to shut up and watch |
My problem with Saraki is this. He claimed in some letter that the land belonged to his Dad and was part of a charitable program for the aged and poor people of Kwara State. Now the Kwata State govt has taken the land back for the same poor people of Kwara State. Why is it this still an issue?. KWSG will continue the legacy. |
Algerian2:Libya spent a lot on defence and security but collapsed like the ordinary third world country they were. National power is not just weapons. Ask Saudi Arabia. |
SuperSixSeven:There is no fake JF17. JF17B is a two seater version that was not originally planned for. I believe customers (primarily Nigeria) suggested that it might be a good idea for training. There was an attempt to fit AESA radar into the nose cone of JF17B at some point. The JF 17 Block 3 airframe is going to be bigger than Block 2. Whoever is seeing the same aircraft is misinformed. AESA radar is bigger, needs more cooking power. The radar can track more aircraft, see further and engage more aircraft simultaneously. It is also harder to jam. |
kabe1:Stealth / low observability - not good. Lights up on IRST Supercruise. - just fair NetCentric warfare ability - very poor EW suite - poor, maybe just better than J20 AESA radar - fair but reliability issues IRST - fair MAWS/other protective systems - poor Russia is only scamming other countries with fake 5th Gen platforms. Their real answer to the opposition is hypersonic strike aircraft. This is where they would be throwing their money because they are leading the tech although US railgun technology will destroy everyone of those aircraft when they are fielded. |
kabe1:They had a concept for Ezugwu. The concept dictated the type of driver side outside view screen. After that it is just to modify the vehicle external profile to fit the available screens on the global matkrt. I think NAMVC dont make this driver side outside view screen |
Oga, you cannot pluralize the word 'advice '. Later on in the body of the post, pls be corrected- advise is the verb and advice is noun. There is no such word as understandability. |
crownwealth:IGNORANCE ON DISPLAY Bashir Magashi.did not divert funds under Buhari. This allegation was from Abacha period. The interesting is this man was confirmed by Nigerias senate as minister inspite of this old report that has not even been corroborated. Always think before you react |
IpobAntidote:I agree with you 100%. Buhari 's son rides power bikes. His daughter is active on social media (instagram). Buhari 's single wife is so empowered that she criticizes his government openly and takes on his closest relative and mentor. We know exactly how modern Buhari is. Let us ask how modern and emancipated the inferior nonenties who are so impressed with an everyday conversation between father and son on SM are. If they are so impressed, it means ythey come from a poor un-empowered and semi literate backgrounds and it is a big thing to them |
mrgoodd:As a Buhari fan one thing I would give to Atiku and his generation including Buhari) , OBJ, Danjuma, IBB is that they are way more intelligent and self improving than.your generation. Your generation is the INFERIOR generation and it breaks the heart to watch. Please re-read what you posted and the quality of the expression. The conjugation of the verbs. This is my great problem with Nigeria. it will be handed over to a bunch of morons in the next three decades. Lazy, entitled, lacking in noble aspirations and no inclination to rectivity and self improvement. Atiku and all the people i mentioned above did not attend university but he would not write this kind of nonsense. It is very sad for Nigeria |
kabe1:So Algeria is buying an aircraft just going into service in Russia. Okay. That's not smart. Russia is going to be recouping their development costs really fast. Also to be honest, SU 57 5th gen capabilities are mostly non existent or modest at best |
