Romance / Re: The Devil You Know Or The Angel You Don't by jkpretty(f): 3:38pm On Mar 18, 2008
If the devil has really proved its worst as being the devil. I don't mind trying out the angel.

Every one has bad sides tho but i'll give an angel a try. That statement has moved so many people to hang to people they truly don't deserve simply because some people have cooed it in their ears that the devil is better. Why not try out the angel, u'll be surprised they are totally worth it.

Family / Re: Which Schools Are Best - Nigerian Schooling Or Uk Schooling ? by jkpretty(f): 9:17am On Mar 18, 2008
Even tho i have felt, tasted and witnessed life in Nigeria as a student going thru all the hazzles that could ever be felt. I will still stand and say i prefer my kids to go thru Primary & Secondary in Naija. I want my children not only to have a feel of their culture from childhood but able to speak their language correctly. I want my kids to get used to the morals/food here in Nigeria. I want the true African blood to flow in their veins. That is one.

Now aside that, i can't bring up kids in another man's land, only for them to start quoting laws for me & telling me what they are old enough to do & what not. Cos no matter how well u raise ur kids, the tradition of the place u stay influence the child in way or the other. I stand to be corrected.

Now talking about schools, I don't regret the schools i went to here in Nigeria. If i were to pick schools again i might still pick those school i went to over again. And to think that Naija kids are always/usually more brainy than the kids that went thru primary/secondary schools over there. Now thinking of it when we were young and some of our cousins come around from the likes of US/UK. Their spoken English is the only thing i give kudos to, (that's because their Ist language did not take effect) but to write na whahala, to solve easy maths becomes headache. So what's the point. University could then be taken abroad simply because of what Nigeria has caused for herself, Since some company in Nigeria would simply state that they would prefer Universities off Nigeria.

I've also noticed that once a child moves abroad for education after the secondary school levels in Nigeria they go topping their classes , why, because the reading culture is already there. The foundation is solid. If marriage changes my plan, i won't even forgive myself.

@Poster So University in UK
Primary & Secondary here.

Why should he dictate. Let her choose whatever she wants/likes. Lest she holds the guy responsible for her failed future.

Celebrities / Re: Mercy Johnson Vs Ini Edo by jkpretty(f): 1:04pm On Mar 17, 2008
Mercy is upcoming & she's tight. Her acting is what spurred me. She's a good actress. Altho on the average as per beauty. When she just newly started acting, her wears get as e be o. I wondered if it was her or just the costumes they wanted her to put on. Later on i realized she had improved. So i guess it's her. I think the movie industry shld do something about the costumes of new intakes, cos many of them don't have money just yet, to match the taste the respected nollywood outfits.

Altho i agree that Ini is prettier. I stil prefer Mercy to her, don't know why.

Romance / Re: Accept Money On The First Date by jkpretty(f): 10:57am On Mar 17, 2008
I don't get this, u offered her money for transport. Not like she asked u or begged u for it. Why on earth will she not collect it. Are u trying to say u were testing her to see if she'll collect it or not . Since when did accepting of money at the giver's free will become a measure to finding a good wife?

People like this love pretenders. may u get the pretender u seek.

Family / Re: Should A Working Couple Split The Bills? by jkpretty(f): 6:01pm On Mar 14, 2008
pahtahkee:

@ Nwando,
I am in total support of your stand, however my question is: If it is the woman who earns more, should the bills payment fall more on her side or the man?

Whoever earns more spends more. It would work perfectly only if the marriage has a strong foundation. They would personally know how to split the bills. But yes, the bills will have to fall more on the woman. And a responsible man will help in doing more work around the house and less of crossing legs & flipping channels.
