Yes, the policy may take effect from Sept, so all SOWP submitted before the effective date will be considered. Feignlies: Hello NLs, can the spouse of a prospective college or undergraduate student also apply for SOWP alongside with the primary applicant for May and September, 2024 intake?
This is the last update on IRCC portal "In the weeks ahead, open work permits will only be available to spouses of international students in master’s and doctoral programs. The spouses of international students in other levels of study, including undergraduate and college programs, will no longer be eligible." |

No, they will use the rate as at the time of submission but if they request for an updated POF kindly use the new rate. Eraytee: Hello @JMG12 @zubizareta I just hope the VOs are not using current rate to judge applications submitted last year? this particular issue is so unclear. I hope there's a way they get the equivalent of POF at submission date. when I submitted my spouse application we had excess of over 18kCAD base on the exchange rate at that time. the situation is not same again... |

Your application was refused based on insufficient funds and lack of home ties. What you can do, is let the sponsor pay the first-semester tuition fee and transfer the living expenses to your account or your sponsor should make the money available to you. work on your home ties (employment, family, assets, and relationship) Themillionman: Please family..... kindly help me look through this and explain better to me please,....JMG, Zub, prince....abeg help me |

You have a chance of getting your study permit approved, home ties are already available from what you have shared. Devasia: Hi guys, please I need advice addressing some concerns I have about lodging my visa. Earlier this year Feb, my student visa to Australia was denied based on home ties, so now I want to apply to Canada and would like some feedback on my chances. 1. I have applied to Canadore College for a graduate certificate program ( 1 year). 2. I am currently employed and have 30,000,000 Naira ($23,000 CAD) in my personal account. 3. My workplace agreed to provide me with a letter of sabbatical for my studies abroad. 4. My immediate elder sister would be acting as my co-sponsor. She had about 25,000,000 Naira ($19800 CAD) in her personal account and about 80,000,000 Naira ($63,000 CAD) in her business account. With all her business documents available. 5. My dad is late but had a company which I am a shareholder. 6. I have some land and property deeds on my name. 7. I plan of getting married by April 2024. 8. My graduate certificate fees will be paid by my sister upon admission, so the money in my personal account remains intact and as well increasing because my salary and other funds are still coming in.
Please my question thus is, do I have a chance on getting a student visa and also what documents can I present as evidence of home ties that would be strong enough. What are your recommendations and advice. Thanks |

So what exactly do you want? Badb0y4lyf: I need you guys help so I employed an agent to help me with student Visa she applied to a school CIMT I got my admission letter around 20 January and my resumption is for July 27. She said she was gonna help me with POF, Visa Fee, possibly SOP. This was around November last year so after I got admission she said Canada came up with some new policy and around February and they are denying people that we start end of the month or march beginning, so I was getting my SOP ready and wanted to go get the police clearance Certificate then I inquired how far with the POF she now started saying the way they do it, it no longer working and it might be difficult I just got mad and requested my funds back. Now where do I go from here what options and solution do I have. |

Have you been approved? olowolekan: I went for biometric in January 30 and I got a message last week I needed to send my acceptance letter because I changed my course of study.
The issue now is my agent said he can't send those documents until I pay another study permit fee but I doubt it because I don't think I should pay study permit fees twice.
Please I need a urgent response. |

Good morning, it is clear the funds available to you were insufficient, if your parents sent the funds to your account you should explain in your SOP or LOE the source and purpose of the funds. The property of 90M is not yours. What you can use as home ties property, job/company it is not enough to show CAC certificate, but you must provide evidence that the company is functioning, family (responsibility), and relationship. realsamsonite1: Hello All,
I need urgent clarification. I was recently denied a study visa for a May resumption for a post graduate diploma in Business Management at Victoria community college, BC on the basis of proof of funds and home ties.
My tuition is fee is CAD 23,300 per year Living expenses is CAD 20, 635 per year
For proof of funds I had submitted - evidence of tuition deposit paid CAD 10,750 - a sworn affidavit of sponsorship from my parents - fixed deposit investment statement of 20 Million Naira -Mother's closing bank statement of 10 Million Naira -parent property valuation report of 90 Million Naira
For my new submission I am thinking of having my parents transfer total tuition remainder + 1 year living expenses to my personal account, but the problem is my personal account has been dormant for about a year now. As I have a May resumption, if they make the lump transfer to my account, what can i do to justify the transfer and support the application ?
For home ties, I plan to use documents from my land properties, company cac registration , family pictures to support my new submission. In what other ways can i support my application ? |

It is not compulsory but for the sake of clarity, because a sponsor shows SOA doesn't mean the closing balance will be used to sponsor the applicant. Daveconsult007: Is it compulsory or necessary that the sponsor viceroy state the total he's giving to the applicant |

If the total tuition is 21650 CAD for the 2 years then she will need 62,850 CAD for POF, but if the total tuition for the 2 years is above that then she will probably need more. All she has done including the GIC and closing balance in her naira account is 37,170.55 CAD. She has to account for the balance of 25,679.45 CAD. If the sponsor is showing 70k as a closing balance, he/she needs to state an amount that is set aside to support her temporary stay and emphasize what has been done on the letter of support/sponsorship. Note: The above amounts are all estimated. Daveconsult007: Please I need your view regarding POF, My friend is about to submit her application .
She has a sponsor, her cousin but Applicant also has funds of her own available and accessible to her
The Sponsor's account balance is around 60k-70k CAD The sponsor has paid her full semester tuition fee of 7,725CAD.
On the Applicant's own end. She has deposited 21,000CAD in GIC. She has 10M naira in her bank account. She's working, her account shows her salary and she's adding her Pay slips
Her program is 2years. Total tuition is 21650CAD, and 7725 has been paid.
Please what are your thoughts on her POF? |

You will need a 4-6 months SOA. The account you intend to use how is the history, if it has a good history then you should prepare to do 2 months' POF, after submission. You can use ROI certificate to back up the money. Putin007: Good day Sir, I got admitted to USASK for an Msc course in Psychology. I have paid the deposit and I'm about to apply for my study permit . I don't know how go about my POF which is like 28k CAD.
Can I do POF of 35 Million naira for one month and submit my application or must it be 4 months.
Will it be too risky ? |
