There has been a never ending narrative here that's founded on misplaced fantasy.

That Nwakali is the best player in Ponferradina FC a team and he is doing incredible things in this poor quality league.

When a team is fighting for survival and is near bankrupt they are desperate. They will absolutely START the best players they have.

All the teaching he has been doing and they have remained in the relegation from the start of the season. 40 game's played and only 8 wins it's very poor.

He already showed his quality against them earlier in the season. They won that game 1-0 even.

Besides, Ponferradina are already relegated. Nwakali should be preparing for his summer move. What a solid season he had at Ponferradina. Still in La Liga 2 top 5 players according to stats ratings as we speak.

You acknowledge that the team midfield is lean which affects our chance of scoring goals. And to improve it you are suggesting we bring in our best attack,i.e oshimen, awoniyi, moffi etc without improving on the lean midfield and will automatically start coming. How?

Mbappe runs diagonally into or towards the box, he plays as a striker on the left but tracks back to at least midfield...

Osimhen can operate like that from the right ( Chukwueze's wing )... I have seen him score goals from the right by running diagonally into the box and shooting the ball, the issue is will he drop deep to midfield to pick up the ball then run at defenders...

most people ( 99% ) on this thread won't agree with your suggestion..

France plays Mbappe, Benzema, Dembele, Griezmann in the same starting 11... why can't Nigeria also play a powerful starting 11...

people on this thread are scared that a player may out-perform their favorite player..

You shouldn't be surprise with his take, some on this thread are club bias, some players( foreign and local) bias, others ethnic bias

Awoniyi is an unselfish player, so he can compliment any striker he is partnering with...

wingers are not even needed, let the full-backs overlap and cross or pass the ball into the box..

S.E midfield is not bad... the coaches and some people in NFF are deliberately not inviting midfielders..

If you put Awoniyi in the "in form" Napoli he will score more than Osimhen...

Awoniyi is rarely offside..

the only issue he has is he doesn't have the speed and pace Osimhen has...

Osimhen kills off attacks with his bad offsides awareness especially for the S.E..

Put Awoniyi in a better team with unselfish players and you'll be shocked the amount of goals he will score..

they are similar players just that osimhen is a better finisher with good positioning in the opponents box than awo. Starting both upfront will stress our midfield with creativity hard to come by

I will take VicMo over any wingers we have now and It's not me trying to be controversial. I just have the confidence that VicMo has ed product and way better decision making

Another player to try will be Osayi-Samuel

Bros me I no send, if dem like make dem ban me but the truth has to be said. Since APC came into power our football at all levels simultaneously collapsed, e dey even hard us to qualify for tournaments...not even a PDP fan but at least we won major trophies under that party administration. The Sunday Dare guy who is our honorable minister of sports is a Tinubu man, same vision of mediocrity and failure as we can see in our sports.

Look at how Senegal and Mali play football, and you wonder what went wrong with Nigerian football? Mali and Senegal combined don't even have the population of Lagos alone, yet they consistently produce very intelligent and sublime footballers...honestly Nigerian football makes me want to vomit, APC have seriously destroyed our football and Sunday Dare (our worst sports minister ever) needs to answer questions.

I don't expect the U20 team to do anu better, no U23 Olympic football as well...the SW and the North have finished this country with mediocrity.

We have to hold on to the Osimhen generation and hope some of the British-Nigerian kids like Eze, Oliseh etc decide to play for Nigeria.. cause as it stands now I see a generational talent drought in Nigerian football that might take years to fix, we just can't produce talented players anymore from our youth systems. Senegal will dominate African football for a very very very long time.

Funnily enough, you might be surprised that Ladan Bosso Under 20 team might play better football and go far in the tourney. I'm being hopeful for fully fit Daniel Daga and Eletu to make our midfield tick. Our first match against Domician republic should ease us to the tournament mood, winning them convincingly will serve as morale boosting for us, and get us ready for Italy and Brazil under 20 teams

I don't understand why people are so pain about the outcome, as Nigerian we are all disappointed, but the team is not bad as most people portrayed them to be. Under 17 competition is for talent discovery, not necessarily win. Now, we have discovered some raw amazing players in this tournament. Next step is to move the talents here to under 20, and probably Ogor,Mbata, Ozor and Okeke(the guys dropped because of MRI) will be added to the squad. Our under 20 might be lovely to watch if these talented squad are properly managed.
I'm not overly disappointed because I saw raw talents that when polish will definitely flourish. Gone are those days that we paraded grandpa's as under 17 and few years later after winning the under 17 world cup, they are no where to be found. None of the players from little messi set, Stanley Okoro made it to the lime light. So, we should take this under 17 as it should be, developmental and talents discovery program.

Ugbade should not be totally discarded, he is good for talent hunting, he can still help at this level.
