Oga Chelsea won't have won the league without Moses. It's just like saying Mikel wasn't critical for Chelsea in the past. How many times did Mikel make Team of the Year? Moses contributions wasn't very obvious but his role was critical, and it showed whenever he was not on the pitch. If you want to make a case for Salah, make your case. You don't have to talk down on Moses, or try to reduce his contributions last season. Modified. In fact I retract my statement, Moses' contribution was very obvious. He was very instrumental when Chelsea switched to 3-4-3. That was when their long winning streak began, and from that point in time they took the lead and were uncatchable in the log. What do you call that? That moniker that said he changed football, that was just an exaggeration. But hey he was that critical to their success last season. Jarus: |
At age 25 Mohammed Salah's stats is SICK -- especially international stats.

Did England call him up to keep him away from us? yes. BUT WAS THAT THE MAIN CRITERIA? NO. My point is Tammy earned it, coming from his very good start in the EPL and his wonderful run the Championship the previous season, and he earned it in the U21s. He earned it especially at a time that Southgate didn't only want to promote youth but also had some casualties (think Solanke's invitation as well) in the team. It's seems we are in a pro-youth era (of course those that back it up with performance). These youth's will have a chance to fight for a place. But will they be giving a nod to make the train to Russia ONLY because they are young, capital no! 1000 people can click like to what you have to say, but that won't make it the fact.. of course you are sentimental, and you've already admitted to that.. so there is no point going on with this. Nigerians can hate on Tammy. it's well understood.. I won't fault that. But when he performs, I will say it as it is. .When he hits a rough patch, I will say it as it is.. But if you say he was being hyped, that's like saying Iheanacho was being hyped. I'm sure you won't like that ![]() safarigirl: |
That was in the mix, but he earned it still. What would U say about Solanke’s tbaba1234: |
True, same reason why Solanke got a call up. goldfish80: |
firstly, you cannot judge correctly if you are are hater.. You just have to say it as it.. Against Arsenal before he was called up to represent England, was that also a tap in. Oh yes he didn't score.. but wasn't that a clever assist? Abi he didn't earn his England call up? ![]() Modified Oh and he's scored two tap-ins so far this season.. goals tally equals two.. kwantinue goldfish80: |
The problem really is it's all about voting.. which has already started.. abi? We they argue criteria this criteria that. The criteria one coach or team captain use in voting may not be the same as another coach or team captain. We can never remove sentiments or politics entirely. The CAF awards is more tricky.. because there are even more factors that come to play compared to other awards. Let's consider these factors: 1. The individual performance of the player in a CAF competition that year or/and season 2. How the players performance impacted the team's achievement that year or/and season 3. The individual performance of the player in a European competition that year or/and season 4. How the players performance impacted the team's achievement in that competition that year or/and season 5. The individual performance of the player in the league that year or/and season 6. How the player's performance impacted the teams' achievement in that league year or/and season 7. The performance of the player in World Cup qualification for the said year 8. How the player's performance impacted the teams achievement in WC qualification for the said year 9. In all of the above, the significance of the player's achievement with club or country (e.g think Salah helping Egypt to qualify for the first time after so many years) Did CAF ever come clearly to say which factor should carry more weight? Capital NO So it's left for the designated voters to choose whatever factor they want when they vote. In the process sentiments will come in. Hence, Victor Moses is already out. There is no foul play here, because he could have made the shortlist to other player's detriment for the same reason. goldfish80: |
Tammy has hit a rough patch..just say it as it is. When Tammy was on fire he was unplayable. The boy will get back. it's normal with strikers. There was no hype about Tammy. goldfish80: |
You mean a 14 year old Uzoho? blueto: |
Thank you.. even that match you added, make dem decide on venue oh.. nelszx: |
My friend, a Christian is one who is like Christ literally and who has faith in him and his Father. It calls for self-examination. We cannot make ourselves right with God by observance, and by whatever we believe. If our beliefs does not TRULLY transform who we are, we are not believers. You don't become a true Christian by trying to prove that someone or set of people are not true Christians. That does not make you a true Christian automatically. lovingJehovah: |

MARCH PRE-WORLD CUP FRIENDLIES CONFIRMED 23.03.2018 Russia VS Brazil 23.03.2018 Germany VS Spain 23.03.2018 Italy VS Argentina 23.03.2018 Netherlands VS England 23.03.2018 Egypt VS Portugal 27.03.2018 Egypt VS Bulgaria 27.03.2018 Germany VS Brazil 27.03.2018 England VS Italy |
RELIVING THE AFTERMATH OF THE WORLD CUP DRAW FOR GROUP D https://img.washingtonpost.com/rf/image_960w/2010-2019/Wires/Images/2017-12-01/Getty/AFP_US5Q9.jpg Rory Smith: Probably the most delicately balanced, most interesting, and most competitive of all the groups. Argentina only just qualified, Croatia has an abundance of individual talent, Iceland a tremendous collective strength and Nigeria was, possibly, the toughest fourth seed to draw. Argentina will not be happy at all. -- NYtimes Tom Adams | Kevin Coulson: If the cliche hunters must insist on finding a 'Group of Death', this would probably be it. However, unless Argentina fail miserably, there will be no powerhouse of world football missing out on the group stages. Croatia have a clutch of talented players, Iceland are an incredibly tough collective to face and Nigeria are growing in confidence under Gernot Rohr and have some Premier League talent at their disposal, with the likes of Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses. -- EuroSport Argentina will face familiar foes in the form of Nigeria. The Super Eagles will be taking on Argentina for the fifth time in six World Cup appearances and have lost all four of their previous matches against them. Argentina are two-time winners, but were beaten in the final by Germany four years ago. Jorge Sampaoli's men almost missed out on the tournament altogether before talismanic skipper Lionel Messi, scorer of seven goals in CONMEBOL qualifying, saved them with a hat-trick against Ecuador in a win-or-bust encounter. Expect to see Argentina in the knockout stages - they have gone past round one in 11 of their last 12 appearances. At the other end of the scale, Iceland are one of two tournament debutants. With just 334,000 inhabitants (at the time of qualifying) they are the smallest nation to reach a finals and will look for more memorable moments having knocked England out of Euro 2016. Croatia needed a play-off against Greece to reach a fifth World Cup and have lost their opening fixture at the past three editions of the competition. Croatia are aiming to channel the class of '98, when they finished third on their first appearance. --FourFourTwo Lee Wellings: As if the Iceland fairy tale hadn't brought enough joy, their first ever World Cup will be against Argentina in Moscow. They will receive global support, but shouldn't be expected to succeed. The smallest ever nation to qualify has already performed miracles. With resurgent Nigeria - who have had to face Argentina in FIVE World Cups - and gifted Croatia completing the quartet, this is undoubtedly a strong group. --AlJazeera Avi Creditor: There are no easy games in this group, but there's something awesome about Argentina and Messi opening up against the world's darling, Iceland. Remember, Iceland finished ahead of Croatia in its qualifying group, and Nigeria just beat a Messi-less Argentina in a recent friendly. --SportsIllustrated Steven Goff: This is a fun quartet, what with Lionel Messi and 2014 runner-up Argentina encountering the least populous country to ever qualify (Iceland), a traditionally capable European side (Croatia) and an unpredictable West African threat (Nigeria)... --WashingtonPost Anthony Lopopolo: If there is a Group of Death, it's this one. Argentina is the favourite based on name alone, but underwhelming results in the World Cup qualifying phase should encourage its opponents. Iceland cannot be underestimated anymore, Croatia has talent in midfield and attack, and Nigeria is one of the most promising teams in the tournament. Nigeria and Argentina are also set to renew their underrated World Cup rivalry. They've been drawn together in five of the past seven tournaments. --TheScore |
Same here.. How about that Sabastian guy? tbaba1234: |
that kind thing.. Ronaldo sef prolly didn't dream of it happening Messi must have been dreaming of it all his life. lol safarigirl: |
Just saw this on Twitter

if he ever eventually wins Copa he go cry better tears of joy. safarigirl: |
hahaha.. sister u are wiket safarigirl: |
The chances of Messi winning the world cup with Argentina is less than Emmanuel Emenike making our WC team. safarigirl: |
That's one player I had wanted us to field instead of Ezenwa. But hey at least we qualified. Maybe he will find a new home soon, and continue his development. ChrisKels: |
My sister it happens in almost every world cup in modern times.. a big name goes down at the early stage.. And I have a feeling it will be Argentina this time. I heard Messi was talking down on our defense. It would just be a formality match for us when we meet again. And I expect our boys to play their hearts out one more time against them.. When we settle this matter finally, it will be the end of WC draw madness, always pitching us against Argentina. safarigirl: |
Every now and then we derail from the purpose of this thread, and we just go on pages after pages.. bataderemi: |
I won't be surprised if Argentina crashes out at the group stage. And I really mean it. safarigirl: |
January 5th. They have to be in camp on the 2nd... Because we need to present our very best in the league. safarigirl: |
I think this CHAN Eagles need another friendly: CHAN Eagles versus the rest of NPFL Super XI |
Nice interview terzurum5: |
Form can either be short lived or long lived. It’s not feasible that we invite only based on form at every given point in time. If I were the coach, I will monitor a new player for at least 6 months and if he is pretty consistent RELATIVELY, he gets my invite Kog45: |
Especially as it’s looking we can’t get Akpoguma, Torinarigha and Uduokhai Nigerdeltaboi: |
