Northern leaders are failures no be today. They cant imagine life without lining up to abuja to collect stipends every month. What a shame! A whole north with all the endowments and landmass yet el-rufai is whining about oil. See parasite thinking |

"The new nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great grandfather Othman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the north as willing tools and the south as a conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us and never allow them to have control over their future." – Parrot Newspaper October 12, 1960. They are scared of losing their estate abi? The quit notice has backfired and they now realise that they used their own legs to enter one chance YoungDaNaval: President of Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, Alhaji Shetima Yerima has described leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nmamdi Kanu as a ‘noise maker’ for rejecting the withdrawal of quit notice earlier issued on Igbos residing in northern Nigeria. He called on the relevant authorities to deal with anybody who violates the suspension of the quit notice to the Igbos residing in the northern parts of the country. Kanu and his pro-Biafra group had rejected the withdrawal of the quit notice, describing it as “inconsequential.” Yerima told Daily Sun that the quit order belonged to the past as the objective had been achieved by Arewa youths. His words, “Did I do it for him or in the interest of the country? His rejection of the suspension of the quit notice is not important to me. What we did was to demonstrate that we have a culture. We give respect to our elders and it was to ensure that the country remains together. The country is above anybody. “On that basis, his acceptance or not is not important but I know that he also is not speaking for the Igbo. It is a minority view of few people making all sorts of noise. It is not really important to me and I do not want to join issues with them. Nigeria is above everybody and I stand on the path of one united country. We have to build a nation that we can call our own.” On his greatest fear about Nigeria, the Arewa youth leader said, “My greatest fear is to wake up one morning and find out that there is no country called Nigeria. That was why we took steps toward the right direction; we are ready to make sacrifice so that Nigeria remains together. “I am sure that our founding fathers who fought tooth and nail to sustain the unity of the country, wherever they are even in their graves, they would not be comfortable. They would be saying that this is not what they bargained for the country. So, we are going to ensure that the unity of the country they fought for is being sustained.” |

half of my people saying no to biafra or one nigeria will be the first to want out should biafra be a reality cause i can bet my ass yoruba wont stay in a nation where north is absolute majority infact if we could turn back the hands of time we would have declared our own republic 1968.
i may find some of his contents annoying but he has said the bitter truth i also want to congratulate the ibo nation on the succesful mobilization for what they believe in i see the women agititating for freedom and i am impressed yoruba nation has not gotten someone to do such a thing since the days of awolowo
congrats to kanu who is not afraid to say the truth congrats to ibo nation for staying resolute
yorubas have led the fight to end democracy ibo should lead the fight to disintegrate or restructure

You have liver o because your own ppl will attack you I always say that the people that allow Fulani people mess up in Nigeria are Yoruba people. The north was scared of how the yoruba ppl reacted when they annulled MKO Abiola's election in 1993 and have since made sure the yoruba ppl never think clearly. Anti-Igbo sentiment is a weapon in the hands of the north. Best of luck in waking your people up. |

StOla: Because you are Igbo and you must have it all to satisfy your insatiable greed.
You had already cornered the top federal civil service jobs that your Northern political partners could not compete for, while the Yorubas were in opposition government in the parliament.
But you still wanted to exert your influence on the Northern Region Civil Service, but were checkmated by the Northern Premier Ahmadu Bello. You hated him for having the effrontery to want to ensure Northerners got jobs in their own region - job you felt you were entitled to, while not sparing any leftovers in your own Eastern Region.
You hated Akintola for daring to draw attention to the fact the the University of Ibadan, then headed by the Igboman Kenneth Dike over the more senior and qualified Oladele Ajose, conducted an employment exercise that recruited 105 Easterners and only 3 Yorubas. Akintola had to die for that revelation. Makes absolutely no sense. So we would destroy a government that was in our pocket so some igbos can get some northern region civil service jobs and Vc of Unilag job that we had already rocked Do you know a fulani prince was Mayor of Enugu? Go ahead and show us where the FG "promised a 30% discount to the concessionaire which it reneged on", I dare you, point us to a single official document or reputable newspaper report asserting as such. Because if you think the following supports such a claim, you need to go back and finish primary school, as your reading comprehension ain't worth sh**!
If you had a working brain, rather than being a walking illustration of the Dunning-Kruger effect, you'd have realized she was saying that the FG gave such discounts to shipping vessels, not that the FG promised her company the same. To think a slowpoke who can't understand a simple sentence has the temerity to accuse anyone else of being unintelligent! Will you presume to lecture us on Joyce's Ulysses as an encore to this splendid performance? Quit this desperate crying for relevance. Have a little dignity this thing. The FG was giving a 30% discount to shipping companies and stopped it AFTER the concession came into operation and agreements had been signed. Politics › Re: Are Eastern Ports Dysfunctional? by joeyfire(m): 9:19pm On Aug 13, 2017 |
Blue3k: Yawn lame conspiracy theory yet again. Did you expect the price to stay the same after concessions? Both Eastern and Western ports are concessioned with standard fee schedule if you read the tariff report for 2017.
Read your own article instead of clowning. They already corrected mistakes you listed. Like we already covered on NPA website the ports in Lagos and port Harcourt have nearly same depths. Port Harcourt deeper in Some sections. Then your allowed to bring in what ever you want. Try borrow small shame na You can not seperate the pricing to the size of vessels that can berth and large vessels can not berth if the place is not dredged. Is that you honestly cannot comprehend or you are just trying to hide your shame. Where in the article did you read that the problem had been solved? You concession an un-dredged dilapidated port that is automatically expensive to run and expect it to be competitive? Smh “They complain about channels but I want to say that even though ships have grown bigger and they want to take comparative advantage of bigger vessels because your cost on a bigger vessel is the same as your cost on a smaller vessel. If you have a bigger vessel that will bring much cargo, you will spread your cost and it becomes lower than when you take a smaller vessel that will bring small cargo, small tonnage; your cost goes higher when you spread it on small tonnage cargo." "That is an issue, the non-dredging of the channels, the non-dredging of the ports. That is why I said from the beginning that I may not be able to tell you all the constraints because I will talk from the perspective of a port operator but freight forwarders will have their own issue. If you go into the terminal, you will see the extensions we did to be able to achieve a deeper draught to allow for at least moderately sized vessels to come.. At a point, the facilities became very dilapidated and operations went down. We have also been marketing, telling our clients that the port is no longer what it used to be. We have made it operational once again. When the facilities went down, there were no plants. Today, we have bought kalmar container handling equipment and so the equipment to operate efficiently are there." |
Politics › Re: Are Eastern Ports Dysfunctional? by joeyfire(m): 8:55pm On Aug 13, 2017 |
omohayek: Do you really understand what it means for a facility to be under private management? Are you expecting the FG to violate signed contracts, by jumping in to force private operators to give you a 30% discount, even if it means driving them into bankruptcy? Do you have any experience working with any businesses requiring balance sheets, investor reports and cash-flow projections, or are you writing from the cramped perspective of a petty trader? It has to be the latter, otherwise you'd already know all the things I've pointed out to you. You are probably the least intelligent person that has crawled into my mentions on this site The government concessioned the badly run down, poorly maintained ports and promised a 30% discount to the concessionaire which it reneged on. Is that in itself not a breach of agreement? The MD has spoken and you who has never seen a PPP agreement in your life is yapping because you can afford 10MB to troll online. No be your fault |

Blue3k: Perpetual wailer you want to focus on stupid policy that happened decades ago. When PDP was in power for 16 years the didn't correct it yet you skip over that. Lol you guys are excuse makers. I didn't switch my statements I said dredging shallow ports is waste of time in hopes of making deep seaports is waste. Its better to pick optimal location with deeper narural depth like Ibakka.
Simple question you will dodge for the rest of your life. Why won't you use deeper port in Rivers.
Lol I do agree you guys have no facts to back up your claim. At you didn't say Igbos made the port a success. This is pathetic! Argue with your phone The Managing Director of Ports & Terminal Operators (Nigeria) Limited, the concessionaire to the premier seaport in Port-Harcourt, Mrs Lizzie Ovbude enumerated some of the constraints the concessionaires are grappling with. She said, “I know that when NPA was still the master sea dock, to improve traffic in the eastern flank, NPA had to give about 30 percent discount. That was some years back, before the concessioning. They gave about 30 percent discount to vessels that are willing to come to the eastern ports. That was a kind of encouragement to enable vessels to come to this part of the country. But after the concessioning, there has been no such encouragement.” Although Mrs Ovbude agreed that the channels in Port-Harcourt Port 1 are not big enough for containerized vessels to berth, he listed efforts made by her company to expand the draught to enable moderately bi vessels to come in. He was pissed by the fact that the Federal Government is not doing anything to dredge the port to pave the way for containerized vessels to come to the oldest seaport in the eastern part of the country. www.vanguardngr.com/2013/09/eastern-ports-lying-fallow/ |
