Some of Nigeria’s finest skit comedians paid a courtesy visit to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Aso Villa on Wednesday.

The young Nigerian (comedy) Skit Industry practitioners under the auspices of the Nigeria Skits Industry Awards (NSIA), led by its promoter, Hon. Bimbo Daramola described the VP as a man of the youths.

The delegation included Maryam Apaokagi, popularly known as Taooma; Josh Alfred (Josh2funny); Ayo Ajewole (Woli Agba); Adebamiro Adeyanju (Mr. Hyenana), Adeoye Adeyemi Elesho (Yemi Elesho), among others.

Commending the creativity of the Nigerian youths, Osinbajo said, “I strongly believe that what our young people are doing and what they are capable of, is what will lead our country to where we are meant to be. The future is not tomorrow, it is already here and we can see it from just everything you are doing, the global acclaim that you are getting; young people like yourselves, doing something good.”

Noting that he has watched some of their skits, the VP added, “I think that we have incredible talent and we must do something about it …enable these talents, and we must ask ourselves questions on setting realistic goals that can enable these talents flourish. I must say that just based on the sheer creativity around this, I don’t think that anybody anywhere is as funny as Nigerian comedians,” he said.

Prof. Osinbajo urged the young skit comedians to use their huge following on social media and on the Internet to promote issues for social good and impact, stating that, “everyone with a large following also has a responsibility to draw attention to these issues.”

On the support of government for the creative industry, Osinbajo highlighted the work of the Technology and Creative Advisory group in shaping policies to encourage the growth of the sector.

“Why I think this engagement (with skit comedians) is important is because this is the way to go. Let us sit down and look at all the issues and come out with realistic positions that can then become policies, and what sort of support will be required,” he stated.

The Vice President also addressed a couple of issues that was raised by the youths, including the Twitter ban, the harassment of youths by the police and law enforcement officers and the need to improve the country’s public education system.

On the issue of public education, Osinbajo noted how the FG, through the National Economic Council (NEC), is working in collaboration with state governments to improve public education, including primary and secondary schools which fall under the auspices of state governments.

The VP noted that the Federal Government is already making efforts to address these issues, including resolving the Twitter ban, ensuring that young Nigerians and all Nigerians are protected and their rights respected by law enforcement officers.

Among efforts of government to ensure police reforms, through the mandate of the National Economic Council (NEC), which the VP chairs, state judicial panels were established nationwide to address issues of police brutality and extrajudicial killings, while also providing compensation to victims.

In his remarks, Hon. Daramola thanked the Vice President for receiving the delegation, noting that Prof Osinbajo identified with young people. He described the VP as a man of the youths.

“Your Excellency, this visit shows that you have a heart for young people, and you have changed the dynamic to show government listens to the youths,” he said.

One of the skit comedians, Yemi Elesho, told the VP, “You are a man of the youth. I heard your speech on Monday asking the youths to move on, this is our movement,”

Also speaking on behalf of the skit comedians, Taooma, Woli Agba and others commended the VP for his support of the development of young Nigerians, further commending his youth-centric connection.

The Vice President was later presented with the Awards insignia.

There's is something suspicious I noticed. A friend went for a bank upgrade which I accompanied him.
While he made available the documents needed, I noticed he was ask questions and one of the questions which got my attention was concerning his address.
They were interested in his address and the lady even asked "if one needs to find you, is this the address that will work?"

At the marketing room he told me he was asked the description of the building he resides in like the color, bungalow or story, gate colour

Like the topic said, Mira is now a mom although it wasn't easy her first batch of eggs she layed had to be destroyed due to my negligence, but with proper care and attention she was successfully delivered of 12new little chickens

Being her first time, I would say I'm glad she hatched all 12eggs.

So yesterday wey be chilling day we all know as e dey be as joli fellows now, as a man wey no dey dull I went to this bar around Asokoro / AYA round about yesterday evening to chill and hang out with my cousin while watching football ⚽.

But something happened that damped my spirit yesterday, a private lower rank soldier that was wearing a track down and his army vest yesterday came into the bar with whom I supposed was his girlfriend and sat down next to us, he was very close to me in particular while the girl was sitted at the other end, what struck me was that he told the bar man to bring peppered chicken two plates but make his own to be just only pepper and onions and to cover the top properly with saviet paper so the girl doesn't notice, then he should bring one five alive and one table water for him because him no too hold money for pocket.

This really shook me because i was surprised as to why he could not just ask the girl to take something cheaper so the both of them could enjoy or even tell her outrightly that he doesn't have enough money on him so she should support him or so?

You see we guys atimes are the architects of our misfortunes because we always try to please and form big boys at the front of our women, I always tell people that a woman that you can't tell you are down financially or can't occasionally assist you with the bills is a total no for me any day any time.

Guys go through alot from Uber for the girls, to paying bills at the chilling spot, to trying to make her happy throughout the whole period you are out with her, to protecting her and finally paying her Uber back home it's just too much for me to handle believe you me and I feel it's totally wrong.

I work in a public analyst lab. So recently, I felt bored, so I said to my boss, am leaving the job because am travelling to the east. Unsurprisingly, she was okay with that, but then she gave me a phone number of one of her friends there in the east. She said her friend opened a lab recently, and she's referring me to her.

Now my problem is this:

How can I go about it? I won't call the number and say: "hello, my name is Mr xyz, and I was referred by Mrs abc to apply for a position in your lab." That won't sound appropriate; isn't it?

I have searched the internet for probably an email address, but the lab is new, and there are no email addresses.

Guys what do you think? Any suggestions please. Thank you.

Chai....Thank God o...and I was on ferry yesterday noon from flourmill ferry lane Apapa to CMS...first,it was all those canoe that was available,fuel poured inside,staff were trying to take it out and it was taking time,trust Nigerians,they started complaining of delays...some mins later,they started the engine and we began entering one by one...I swear we were all afraid deep down because we saw bad signs,and that was the only boat available to CMS ,the boat was just swinging left right like it wanted to capsize...at some point men began holding on tight to the boat "Fear grip" as it moves....I was just saying my last prayers and thinking on how to survive if it happens...we had life jackets though,but i don't trust theirs....small small struggle till we got to CMS and everybody looked at eachother like "Whew" ... I'm glad no life's lost in all.
