The problem is with the retirement age in Nigeria. 60-years is too early for retirement. The individual retires to poverty and misery, sometimes early death.

The advanced countries of the world have retirement age of 65-years, places like the United States is considering moving it up to 70-years because people are living longer and government needs to delay paying out pension too early to keep the pension scheme solvent.

When you retire someone at age 60 and they live until say 85 years, it means the government has to pay them pension for 25-years. You wonder why our government never have enough money to meet up with pension payments on time.
