I don't understand why the lady should dictate to what city her husband should work in because she is afraid his parents will follow him to New York and ruin her nice arrangement. Why can't his family pull resources together to pay for his parent's accommodation in Maryland while he moves to NY to be with his wife and kids since she's refused to move to Maryland? The man is trying to get close his wife and kids while his wife is finding ways to keep the family apart. If it continues the way it is going, divorce would be knocking on their door. Nigerian wives never like their husband's in-law's. It is a well known fact. If it were her parents in this situation, she'll be asking them to move in with them. |
iammo:But the police officer didn't kill him. |
grandstar:The name Betty Jennifer isn't a real name. No one answers two first names in America. Looks like she was hiding something. The police will find out who she really was and the events that led to her death. I wonder what she got herself in into? |
PolymathDave:Nigerian women should focus on gaining economic power before seeking political power. Start businesses that will be succesful. Then vie for political office. That's how the men do it. No man will give up his position for you. |
It is a sad day in Northern Nigeria that one man can single handedly change the way a people have been ruled within a span of five days without any opposition, not even from the legislature that is supposed to be a check on the the executive arm of government. I am also appalled that the head of our government, Mohammad Buhari could not intervene to stop a process that cleary have been hijacked by Ganduje and his lackeys to change the way a people have been ruled for hundreds of years without any debate and contribution by groups or civil society. Everyone who has been following the story of Ganduje knows the man is not even fit to govern his household. He is a symptom of what ails Nigeria. Even with his systemic corruption, he was still voted in for a second term, or was he really. After all he is APC. Shame on Buhari and his cohorts. |
Lagos State is in real trouble. He won an election without a clue on how to govern? He thinks a crash course is all he needs to govern? |
Nigeria really needs to review its capital punishment laws. Was the death of her neighbour pre-meditated (planned) or an accident, resulting from a fight? In the very worst case, the courts should have seen this as manslaughter and apportioned appropriate prison sentence. Death sentence is simply overkill and serves no purpose. It won't stop fights between neighbours or accidental deaths resulting from these fights. |
The young man actually left his abode in Imo State for this ugly girl in Anambra? Didn't he see the girl's photo before embarking on such a journey? And the other matter, did he travel from Imo to Anambra with just N17,000? That's pathetic. |
After 10 days of peace, he's by this time saying to himself I have to come back here to deal with these people...lol. |
Make I see their face up close. I want sabi whether na mama Iyabo wey live for my street or Nkechi wey they form big girl. |

The question is what do the Indian companies know that Nigerian companies don't? If Dangote is selling his flour mill business because it is loss making but Crown Flour mill owned by Olam is profitable, how come Dangote Flour hasn't learnt from Crown Flour? Some of the reasons Dangote Flour mill gave for its loss making include cross border smuggling. If that is the case, why isn't Crown Flour Mills impacted by the same problem? Also, what is the Nigerian government doing to address the cross border smuggling? Every Nigerian should be concerned about the sale of a wholly owned Nigerian company to a foreign entity. Also, the flour mill business will become monopolistic in nature, where the industry is controlled by two firms leading to higher prices for the consumer. |
He leaves his home country to go have an attention seeking birthday bash in South Africa. It is all show-off. Na only am be senator. Do you ever see any South African government official doing same in Nigeria? It is really hard for foreigners to love Nigerians. |
Aderewah:Thank you my brother. Anyone thinking that running away to Britain will change their life for the better should just read the responses from the Brits on this thread. The people you're running to don't like you or want you. You will have the hardest time making it there. |
The man should stop bleaching biko. |
I'm sorry to say this but Rivers State is not a safe place to live. The state government is so poorly run that it has given rise to all types of vices - kidnapping, cultism, political thuggery, armed robbery among others. It is really a shame because it used to be a beautiful and peaceful state. How can these people bury a man alive just because they want to steal his car? They could have just taken the car and left the man alone. There is no sense of humanity in these people. |
He didn't try hard enough. I'm beginning to think this guy has some mental issues. No wonder the wife doesn't want to come back. If he's not talking about her, it's about Iyanya. Move on buddy because the world already has. |
When is EFCC going to pick up Okorocha? If it were the opposition candidate, he would already be in jail cooling his heels. |
Shibaraba:You are dead wrong. If they cannot serve Nigerians in Nigeria, their licence to operate a restaurant should be revoked immediately and they should be put on the next available flight out of the country. There is no place in Nigeria for racial discrimination. If we don't start teaching these foreigners how to behave in our country, it will only get worse. |
This Meyer woman is so spiteful. Bringing up old news just to get at a woman who has surmounted many challenges and a person you once had a business relation and whom by your own admission you severed ties with to uphold your integrity. I see Ms. Meyer as a very jealous loser. Just because you failed at a business and your friend succeeded does not mean you own the idea. No one owns a business idea. If people were to own business ideas, then we'll only have one business serving the entire public. Think of having just one barber for the entire Nigeria because barbing was originated by one person. Can you see how that will not lead to business growth of an industry or the economy. If you go to court you will loose. Ms. Phillip's problem with the NDLA is with them, not your business to remind them Ms. Phillips is a fugitive. All I see here is malice. |
While no American airline has grounded the MAX 8, the British Government is not having any of it. Not only have they grounded all British airlines from flying the MAX 8, they have restricted any foreign airline from flying the MAX 8 over British airspace until further notice. |

Medicine after death. |
I thought they initially said they will not interfere in our elections. Now they are saying they were actively involved. Liars. |
RIP to the family of Prof Payo. I've been following his write-ups since the early 2000. He was a great mind and wanted the best for his country Nigeria. Ethiopian Airlines is about to experience declines in passenger booking following this incident. |
No she has to make another music and a video...ha ha, excuses, excuses. Story for the gods. She must be God's gift to men that she can get married when she wants. Unless she already has someone who is understanding to her plight on standby, she is making a grave mistake. When she is ready, there will be no one available. She has to then go out looking or should I say make herself available. Age is not on her side. Before she knows it, 33 will turn to 35, 38, and her market value continues to fall. There is a time for everything. |
Democracy in Nigeria is still a work in progress. |
donstan18:No, the man is not foolish. He knows if he were to intervene on behalf of the mother, he would be arrested by the police for assault on the wife. The Western world has given so much power to women that men are afraid to touch them. Even a threat of using force on a woman can land a man in jail. With that said, a wife who insults their mother in-law today will be insulted by a wife to their son tomorrow. If you are a man and see your girlfriend does not like or respect your mother while still dating, it is foolhardy to expect she will respect her once you are married. That is the time to get rid of the girlfriend and find someone who has respect for them. A woman who doesn't respect your parents has no respect for you. |
The amount of make-up on her face could sink a battleship. |
Triangles1:The things you listed only take place in Nigeria and the rest of Africa. Why do you think we can't get rid of corruption? It's because of the stupid support system were wife, her parents, the man's extended family all depend on the man. In the Western world, the woman contributes immensely to the upkeep of the family. They work and understand the need to take on some financial responsibility in the family. |
Netanyahu1:No, racism is worse. In Nigeria, people generally respect you even if they despise your ethnic group. But in the whiteman's land, they generally don't respect a black person. While it is frowned upon to call people derogatory names, they still find ways to do it. Racism is institutionalised, meaning that as long as the African continent is still struggling with development, the whiteman's sees the blackman as an extension of the Continent's backwardness. Also remember that black people at a time were sold as slaves to Europeans and in the Americas. Although the practice has since stopped, they still see the blackman as a lower being. No matter how succesful you've become in Europe or America, the whiteman will still look down on you as being inferior and not worthy to be respected. You are discriminated on jobs, housing, at times, even simple things like going to visit a friend in a neighbourhood where there are no blacks. The police will show up out of nowhere and start asking you silly questions like why you are there as if you have come to steal something. |
DoTheNeedful:She's not lazy. You don't know her circumstances. Just because she has a degree from a Canadian university does not translate to an automatic job. The system is stacked against foreigners, especially ones from Africa. Racism is endemic in the Western world. Haven't you had of foreigners with PHDs in the hard sciences driving taxi in Canada or US? Will you consider them lazy? |
