Racoon:Really interesting questions |
Yes... It's funny how Sanwolu was speaking about restructuring and devolution of powers at the federal level when state governments have refused to grant local government autonomy. We can't continue this system of government that centralises the affairs of a state to an office. Devolution of powers at all level is what we need. So if a bad Road exist in your ward you mobilise and march straight to the local government Chairman's office. |
manny4life:Topical reaction of an Average Western Educated Person. I guess you know more than the Chinese government that built 7.72 million units of affordable housing in 2015 to care for low income families that has been priced out of the property market or the UAE government that has pledged to spend $1.96 on building affordable housing for its citizens. If you really understand how capitalism work you will never advocate for housing to be left to private individuals. If the Chinese government didn't build those housing and followed your line of thought to provide access to capital, less than 10% of the number won't have been achieved. The fund will be diverted to more profitable ventures since little or no profit is expected from affordable housing scheme. And lastly, a thriving economy like America and UK where home ownership is below 65% cannot provide the template for a serious government to copy while China, Russia, India, Cuba are doing about 90%. |
Ubdavis:None of the aforementioned names have addressed the Nigerian problem like Sowore. Till date Kingsley is yet to come up with a minimum wage figure. Only waiting to get into office and institute an endless Committees when in fact, he should have access to every information he needs as a former deputy governor of the CBN to come up with a figure. |
Yes... This is the first candidate to mention anything about Nigerian housing deficit. We are in dire need of 17 million units of housing. Everything he has said so far is Pro masses. And stressing about minimum wage means he knows his onions. For me all the other candidates like Kingsley, Oby and co should queue behind this guy. |
How hard is it to have central database for the public? I have a driver's licence and international passport and yet, I'm expected to queue up to still register for National ID card. |
Really? |
urahara:That's a fact |
theoldpretender:Bros I understand your position. But for fairness, pay as you go should be achieved first before the increase. If not, it's going to be a total rip off. Pay as you go is the only measure that will ensure these companies improve their services, having in mind that customers will only pay for the power they consume like it's done in sane societies. Even a hut in an obscure village in Ghana has a prepaid meter. |
theoldpretender:Bros if we are to go by your logic then the masses should be made shareholders. It's never been heard of that a business man will force out money from customers to improve their product. A business man should go out there and raise money to improve their products. The implications of increasing bills before any improvement will be nothing but a rip off. If I have a product that is not so good... Yet I manage to increase the price and people are still paying for it then what will be the motivation to use the additional funds generated to improve the product? Firstly, more than 70% of power users are subjected estimated billing so increasing the price for power under such arrangement is nothing but daylight robbery. Let's be mindful of what we advocate for so we don't unconsciously worsen our situation. |

krattoss:You can't just privatize public universities. There are public University in almost every nation. America that is propagating capitalism all over the world still have lots of public universities. We must not turn our institutions for profit. So anywhere we find inefficiency and inadequate funding, the only solution is privatisation? Come on, then we should as well privatise; the police, fire service, the national bureau of statistics, all government hospitals etc |
Holargyde:There are two sets of people in Nigeria. The exploited and the exploiters. I'm a full member of the exploited class and since our class has been rendered powerless using the institutions of the state. We all count it as progress when a member of the exploiting class dies. I don't need to know him personally. If he had contributed to nation building whoever he left behind can survive in a stable society. But because they have not done anything to create a stable society where an average Nigerian can live a decent life it becomes a tragedy for the people they left behind. And what tragedy even? When most have stolen what their generations unborn can't finish. |
Oshigun:This is a trap. Your own succcess and happiness is nothing but an illusion when you have a disorganised society. You can confirm from Badeh and the likes Oshigun:God punish politicians and their hand outs. Is that how youths in other continents survive? More than half of the American population usually have no clue about the name of their vice president. Because they have a living to make. And things are working to an extent. There is no resting place for all Nigerian politicians and vicious businesses men that have worked to make our lives unbearable. |
Oshigun:What is successful about them? They lived all their lives exploiting the masses. And who said they are not the ones preventing the success of an average Nigerian? But you will either go to church to fight imaginary village people or Mecca to stone the devil. He has been in the house for 8years, go and find out how much has been paid to him for constituency project and what project he did and check out the living standards of people that really depends on those projects. |
Patrioticman007:How can you be blaming the opposition when Apc controls the security architecture of the country? For the last 3years that it has been happening can you mention one drastic measure Buhari has taken? For 3years now he has kept same service chiefs that has proven so incompetent. And that's also the fault of the opposition according to you. If you're been paid to defend the indefensible you should have it in mind that insecurity affects all. If Badeh could fall victim then you're surely not immune to it. |
Let's wait as more details unfold |
dukeprince50:Wow... And you believe all you just wrote? I'm certain you're not as informed as wikileaks that termed Dangote's business philosophy as Beggar Thy Countrymen |
Ok |
OyiboOyibo:Chelsea ended Arsenal's unbeaten since August. |
dominique:Chelsea ended Arsenal unbeaten this season since August |
There is no synergy between the legislative and the Executive. And unfortunately, the Nigerian President has made matters worse by always turning down bills presented to him even with input from his liason in the preparation of the bills. Then next, he comes up with nominees that excludes two regions. Buhari is a divisive leader. He is not what Nigeria needs at this time. And for those uninformed fellows supporting Buhari's refusal to sign the electoral bill on the ground that is too close to elections, mind you Jonathan signed the electoral bill in 2015 two days to the general elections which empowered Inec to use the card reader and electronic voters register. Which we have never used before. |
One of the best place to live in Nigeria |
One thing is certain, the people still pushing for Buhari's re-election are same people that will suffer the most. The number of out of children from the Northern region are more than 80% of the reported 3 Million increase under Buhari's administration. So if same people having it worse are still pushing for his continuation then so be it. Common rice donated by the Chinese government for the IDPs in the north was left at the port for 8months. And same IDPs will still vote for a continuation of this hopeless government. There has been damming reports that the military personnel demand for sex from the IDPs before they are feed. And same IDPs will still vote for continuation. It was under this same administration that the Airforce misdirected their air strike, hitting the IDPs. Yet, they are going to vote for continuation. |
The repercussions of not planning for the future generations. Nigeria is a failed state. |
This crisis has been under reported. The last time I was travelling to Cross River, someone was saying that the federal government actually contributed to the crisis by not having clear boundary between the two states. And I did look out for the boundaries like we have in other states and didn't see any. It's so bad that during the climax of the crisis the locals will be stopping moving vehicles just to ascertain the identity of the passengers if you're from the neighbouring village you will be ordered to disembark from the the journey and you're also likely to be killed |
Sai baba |
So nobody could ask him why he allowed rice donated by the Chinese for the IDP to accumulate #800M demurrage under his watch. We need a government that will deal with waste in governance. Osinbajo has only been paying lip service to the issue of prudent management of our resources. |
Senselessness... Masses that has been deliberately kept in poverty for generations will still be fighting for the political elites. Any fool fighting for a politician deserves more than this. Politicians have kids and relatives but they will never use their own during electioneering. Warning to Nigerian youths! If you allow yourself to be used this guy's fate awaits you. If a politician have any grievance they should go to the police. |
Interesting times |
Does the court really have the power to stop the state assembly from carrying out its constitutionally established functions? |
We need someone with the audacity of Sowore. |
