SIRTee15:I really don't get your argument. Did China emerge a top economy by allowing other nations to produce for them even when they kept churning out substandard articles? You really have a wrong notion about Globalisation. A little research will help you. Globalisation is nothing but the spread of imperialism without restrictions. Nike is not under any obligation to produce our Jersey in Nigeria, accepted but, my question is must Nike produce our Jersey? Was it Nike that qualified us for the world Cup? Is Nike more popular than Nigeria? If Nike is more popular than Nigeria why didn't they leverage on it by promoting Malaysian Jersey this world Cup year? Honestly, we don't need global designers in Nigeria. How many people does the so called global designers cloth in the world? Global designers cloth less than 5% of the world population does it mean the rest of the population are naked? Consider this, it's a world cup year and our boys have done the hard work of qualifying for tournament. We have a population of about 200 million. If it's made in Nigeria and promoted in Nigeria with different grades of the Jersey. And for the fact we qualified, no matter how ugly looking the Jersey is, with good distribution and promotion within Nigeria the Jersey can be purchased by atleast 10% of the population that's just being Conservative because we're a football loving nation. At the average price of #2,000 per Jersey multiplied by 20million. How much is that? #40billion. Fifa makes money from the crowd following the sports worldwide not because of some wealthy fans. If Football gets to the point it becomes a rich Man's game fifa will file for bankruptcy within a year. |
Mynd44:Wow... How can Nigerians be thinking like this? Is Nike more popular than Nigeria with a population of over 180million people. Since Nike is so popular why are they not promoting the Malaysian Jersey this world Cup year? In reality Nigeria does not need Nike, its the other way round. And the terms of engagement should be to enrich our economy. Both the original and pirated are made in Asia. So what are we benefiting economically from qualifying for the world Cup? |
plaetton:God bless you for this. When are we going to start protecting our interests? Nigeria first! If Nigeria hadn't qualified for the world Cup will Nike be promoting the Jersey? It's sad that even us the masses have relegated the interest of Nigeria to the background while supporting a brand that doesn't give a shi.t if we have jobs or not. Until we come to the realisation that we have all we need to emerge a top economy, we will be selling our birth rights for a pot of porridge. If we don't know that Nike needs Nigeria more than we need them then, we are all ignorant. How can a nation of about 200 million people, with youth unemployment of about 60% keeps exporting jobs that it doesn't have and yet, we are so comfortable with the status quo. All these clueless Nigerians throwing tantrums at the Senator will still go to church on Sunday to pray for divine intervention for them to secure jobs as if jobs fall from the sky. Sad! |

A nation that works |
This is an institutional corruption. We make it so easy to steal. Before 2007,it was rumoured that some South South Governors where taking home 50 billion annually as security votes. Nigeria can't develop unless there is a revolution that will shake the tables of corruption that the elites have been dinning on. There has to be a violent struggle backed by a well thought out ideology. Some people just have to die for this nation to be rescued. |
omonla10:What's is wrong in having a Biafra Remembrance Day? A struggle that took more 3 million lives. The West mark June 12 every year without anybody raising eyebrows yet, you expect the East to just move on like 3 million of their loved ones didn't die. Love for one's country cannot be achieved through coercion. If they killed the all the Igbo men today, the ones unborn will still carry on with the struggle. In a sane society it should be a national holiday. Where lectures will be held and ways to foster national unity agreed upon and implemented. |

OhiOfIhima:[/s] Trash. |
OhiOfIhima:What's hate have to do with what I just said? Are you being paid to defend rubbish? Since he can't build a hospital that can treat him and his family for four years why does he need a second tenure? I intentionally mentioned Buhari because his health is failing him. One would have thought that a reasonable person ought to have declared a state of emergency on our health care sector on his return from medical tourism abroad. Buh what do we have? Health workers are still on strike and he is busy campaigning for second tenure. That's not all, you people keep giving rubbish excuses as if this is his first time in government. Buhari has been in government since 1970's. Who is in a better position to share the blame than him? If you're brain dead I'm not. Please don't quote me again. |
The animal should be arrested. |
So Buhari can't achieve something like this in 4 years? And he wants another 4 years. SMH |
Mtn, the only network an average Nigerian hates buh can't do without because our Nigerian network which is Glo is slow with pride. Their major concern is signing yeyebrities as brand Ambassador. I'm sure Adenuga himself will be surfing the Internet with Mtn. |
Nice one op. The day my eye opened was when I visited Alaba Market. An LED television repairer at Alaba makes more than #50k on a daily basis. The guy flashed a television within 15 minutes and collected 20k. Another guy that repairs the power pack it didn't take him 30mins and he collected 18k. |
Thermodynamics:Bro, even the West that championed for this useless system is not finding it funny. I follow a group on Facebook where issues like this are trashed. A guy shared his story that he had never heard interest in college education. He became a gravel crusher. At the age of 18years he already got a job that paid him $60k a year. And now he earns way higher. His starting salary back then is still a tall dream for Americans with masters degree. We no more believe in what we can do with our hands forgetting that is the secret to real wealth. The white imperialist still can't replicate the artifacts done by our goldsmiths. |
pryme:Whatever we have today is a systemic challenge which the UK can't possibly absolve themselves from. Is Nigeria the worst country in the world? Have the UK done a thesis on the role of Swiss Bank and UK banks in aiding the transfer of looted funds from third world countries? Let me borrow the lines of Louis Farrakhan... Have we dropped a bomb in hiroshima and Nagasaki? Has the world refused to accept Americans for the fear of them throwing another bomb? Have we sabotaged world economies? Have we installed a dictator in place of democratically elected leader just because they don't serve our interest? Nigeria is exactly what they wanted and if you don't have a clue about what I'm talking about then we certainly are in a different level of thought. |
What niche? |
Xisnin:No sir, you're really the ignorant fellow here the moment you decided to treat the social vices today in isolation. And you're part of those educated illiterates we have in Nigeria. What is the history of the black folks? One of the most corrupt nations in the world keep dehumanising Nigerians at every given opportunity and you agree because of the so called education you got from them. If you as an African don't see the social vices we have today as a resultant effect of the domination and exploitation of the third world countries mostly carried out by the British, then my friend you're a waste of space here in Africa. |
erico2k2:How can we? when we adopted British curriculum and we are very proud of it. We need another type of education here in Nigeria. Last week I was looking for information on solar powered food dryers and it took me to a university in South America where students and their professor has been testing a new model. The earlier, we identify with these third world countries to learn some of the things they have achieved the better for us. Everyday the Asians come up with new ideas to make life easier but, our brain dead policy makers are so loyal to the British that they keep enforcing obsolete syllabus in the name of British curriculum |
Moorish:Brother that is what they made us believe that our ways was evil. We certainly had our shortcomings like any other nation. Every society has it's dark side including the United Kingdom. If you go back to the Berlin conference you will understand that these imperialists were never concerned about our wellbeing. It was about resources. In simple terms, money. They killed more people that opposed them than they claimed to have saved. Bank of England has more Gold than the whole central banks in Africa combined. Where did they get the gold? Shey na from Kent them mine am and if they bought it who did they pay? See saying we should appreciate the British for saving us sounds more like killing our ancestors all over again. |
kimbraa:Did I justify crime? It's really sad many of us don't understand what's playing out in the world. The great wealth you see in the first world is the result from the exploitation and domination of the third world countries. They were the proponents of the concept of domination and exploitation. So if any body is to cry foul it surely not them. In their useless syllabus did they ever mention Swiss banks the safe haven for looted funds from third world countries? Or did it mention King Leopold of Belgium that was responsible for the death of over 10 million Congolese while carting away their resources and became one the richest people in the world. Black people please wake up. Those fancy lives style we see can only be possible through exploitation and they knew these, that was why despite their Christianity and science they still needed to come down to Africa to exploit us and distort our communal lives. The world reality is if you want intimidating wealth look for who to exploit. It's their guiding principle. It's pure hypocrisy for them to be dehuminizing Nigerians over what they created. |
DonBenny77:You're really clueless about the exploits of the United Kingdom in the so called third world countries. They taught us more than scam. They introduced the scourge of tribalism in our national affairs. They taught us how to exploit ourselves. For every social vices we have today we can directly link it to them. Secondly, I'm a strong believer in the laws of equity. He that comes to equity must come with a clear hand. My friend, the United Kingdom has no moral standing to judge anyone. The standard of living they have today has nothing to do with their prudent management of resources and it has everything to do with the domination of third world countries. They had Christianity, Science and all and yet, they needed to come to distort our communal lives by killing our ancestors, looting our resources and taking many into slavery. If you don't understand how these actions affects you today as a black man then you most likely need another type of education. I'm out |
I think the United Kingdom has over the years appeared to be ignorant about the role they played in creating these social vices in most third world countries they colonised. It's really funny how UK keeps mocking us when Nigeria was their pet project. The same crocks that looted our natural resources. Our art works which they stole still sit on their museum generating millions of pounds every year yet, the Queen is head of the Church of England which has the Anglican Church under it and they have never had any remorse not to talk of honourably towing the path of restitution. I still wonder why Nigerians send their kids to UK to study. They will only end up brainwashing you to feel less of yourself. I stand to be corrected if Nigeria has committed 1% of crime against humanity committed by the United Kingdom but, albeit you will never see it on their useless syllabus. For the record, I'm not in support of any form of Scam. I believe if you reach an agreement for a transaction you should carry out to the letter and where it's not possible to carry out a full refund is honourable. |
This guy is a common criminal. Hacker bawo. Why didn't he withdraw the #1billion and buy a car? Rubbish |
Imperialism war between China and America. |

|
HeyCorleone:True. It's left for us the middle class to organise the masses and topple the elites. We can sure have a better life. Every elite sees Nigeria from a prosperous perspective. Buh from the common man on the street it's agony, hopelessness. |
When will the Nigerian military start to invest locally so as to have these arms manufactured here? We are sinking deeper into this imperialist world. We keep exporting jobs and later they will empower the youths with shoe shinning kits. You have a population of over 180million people. Yet, we cannot forge our own weapons. This same population is not good enough to produce a car for the president. Our security chiefs are busy riding in bullet proof Mercedes and BMW. Ibe Kachikwu told us it's cheaper to import petroleum products than to refine in Nigeria without considering the implications of having an unproductive population. Then when a group of people decides they don't want to be part of the country they all go haywire when they themselves don't believe in the Nigerian people. It's on record that the Biafran military did manufacture arms and also refined crude oil in the face of necessity. Yet, Nigeria as a whole haven't been able to achieve such a feet and some people are happy just the way it is. |
