Hello everyone,,

I studied Industrial relations & personnel management (HRM), had second class lower (2:2)

Can I go for PGD in Information Security Management?
That's a career switch. If it's not related to your previous study or work experience, you have a great job of convincing the visa officer your reason for career Change.

Have people done it, yes but you need to explain well and convincingly too.

Good luck.

But wouldn’t that be more expensive as compared to using form A?
Not really, he sent USD not naira so there's no conversion of currency. He was only charged for the transfer.

Form A is usually for people sending naira, so to avoid black market rates they use bank rates.

Exactly why I didn’t go for it. There’s a deadline.

Also, I have been trying to register on tradesystem portal but I have not received any OTP after inputting my BVN. Do you know how I can address this?
It means that the email address you registered on the trade Portal is not updated on your BVN. Get your Bank to update your email on your BVN and retry.

Yeah, was just surprised at the cost. $45 at black market rate is 32k naira.

Thank you.
Yea that's why people opt for form A. The challenge there is the 4-6 weeks wait time and payment deadlines

Good luck

I did not use form A. I transferred from my USD dom account to Flywire. The invoice was in USD too.
Alright, you will still be charged for the transfer. It's not free.

Even local transfers aren't free.

You can generate your bank statement to see the narration if you were debited the chargers separately. If it was debited along with the principal funds then you can contact them to know how much the charge is.

Good luck.

Hello good people!

I am in a dilemma, and I need advice to help make the right decision.

I used an agent to help with bank statement . I submitted in June this year, did upfront medical. Last two weeks, I got a mail "Procedural fairness, fraudulent bank account..."
On checking the account, it was all made up, and zero naira.

Do I accept and apologise?
Or do I get an immigration lawyer to handle the case?

I'm scared to have a ban, 5years is a long time.
Kindly contact me: janetojo90@gmail.com

I will truly appreciate your suggestions. Thank you
You can get an immigration lawyer specialized in handling these kinda of cases. He/she would most probably still apologize and state that you did not do that internationally. They might be less harsh if it's coming from a lawyer. - my opinion though.

Alternatively, you can do the explanation your self and hope it turns out fine.

Good luck.

When did you submit the form A to access bank?
I have a pending transaction since 21st of September
Got a mail from UBA stating that it now takes 4 - 6 weeks.

Your application is only just about 4 weeks so chill and hope it doesn't extend to 6 weeks.

Good luck.

I used Flywire to generate a tuition deposit invoice of $1119 (1500 cad) and Access bank charged me $45 in charges. Is this normal? I feel the charges are much.
Wire transfers are not free. You will be charged the CBN form A charges and sometimes some offshore charges.

You will not be charged for converting the currency if your invoice is in USD and you are using your USD account.

If your invoice is in CAD you will be charged for conversation since your account is in USD.

Good luck.

Please I need advice urgently. In a more clearer terms:

My name is Bukola. A friend introduced me to this platform. I earned my Bs.C. in Psychology, but with a poor grade. So, I couldn't get admission to a master's program. I decided to go for a college diploma, I have gained admission into Social Service Worker (2 years program), which is relevant to my current job (I work in the psychiatric center). Here is my concern: please can anyone advise me on how to convince the visa officer why I didn't go for a master's program? I'm afraid he might not see it as a logical progression. I mean he may question why I need a diploma after Bs.C. Please I need serious advice. Thank you in advance.

Please help me!!!
Your best chances are career progression based on your previous study or work experience. Pick one and build your sop around it. Masters/Pgd choice of program is only a challenge if you're not able to build on the above.

Good luck.

Please i got admission to fanshawe school for may intake but i was asked to pay tuition deposit of 8k CAD within a month. My challenge is, i do not have the complete funds at the moment for deposit.

Will my admission be revoked since I didn’t make the initial deposit? Or does anyone know any school with little to no tuition deposit for graduate certificate courses?
Some schools request for your full first semester tuition as dep, I know Seneca does that. Even if the dep is a part of your tuition, you will still need to pay it within a month after admission and then the balance thereafter.
The school might withdraw the admission if you fail to make the payment to secure your seat.

Hi Iremide.
I was offered admission to Conestoga too but I haven’t been able to fill my Form A as I do not have the school details. I have sent couple of emails to no avail. I made the 1500cad deposit using black market. Kindly assist me on how you filled your Form A. Thank you .
You don't need the schools details to make payments, what you need is to visit the schools payment options site, choose your preferred payment provider/method, generate a payment invoice and then proceed to CBN portal with the invoice and other documents for your form A application.

Good luck.

Any suggestions here would really be appreciated.
As much as transactions show how you run the account, it does not change the fact that the account is yours. In fact a stable account with more inflow turn over than outflow turn over, longer duration of available balance will demonstrate that funds are available at your disposal and not going anywhere any time soon.

You can add your naira account to show more financial strength.

Good luck.

If going for medical assessment at IOM. Is it compulsory to go with original international passport?
Do they accept photocopy if the original is not Available?
It advisable to go with the original to avoid unnecessary delays, however, you can go with a photocopy.
They will attend to you turn by turn with a crowd that you cannot imagine. If it gets to your turn and you have a photocopy, they will ask you to leave the queue and go to a particular office to verify the photocopy before you return and rejoin the queue.

I gave them my landed properties and my statement of account had a closing balance of 12m…so I don’t know what could have been the problem
The truth is no one can tell you exactly the reason for the refusal.
Some will argue that your finances were not enough, some will say you didn't have enough reason stated in you sop as regards your willingness to return after your studies. It could even mean that they had exhausted their permit slots for a duration of time and rejected yours with a flimsy reason.

In all just take it easy. If you wish to re-apply, first order your notes to understand the detailed reason and then gather fresh documents and re-apply.

Good luck.

Good morning. Please does anyone here have an idea how to go about getting PTA from GTbank? Their branch in my location is not giving me enough information.
PTA requirement is kinda general, it's not specific to a particular bank.
You will need your return ticket and other travel documents like your permit etc to process a personal travel allowance.
The challenge people have is that they usually just book a one way ticket and that does not qualify you for PTA.

Good luck.

Hi lovely and blessed family,

I have a concern please.

I actually didn’t pay attention to the information on my application status when I newly submitted my application then not until later. So, I am unable to differentiate between the messages on each of the steps if it was the same as of when I submitted newly. For instance, “We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.” Can someone please tell me what could have been the message there at the initial stage of submission instead of this. Let us not just be mistaking their information and misinform or misguide ourselves because, if this is still the same message it shows just immediately after submitting an application, then we can’t say they’re processing or they’ve completed the step.

Kindly differentiate please if you have the information.

Thanks for the clarification.
This is the application info at the top of your application profile page, it is generic and doesn't change.

Your focus should be on the actual processing stages downwards. They will let you know when your biometrics is updated, when your medicals is processed and updated, if any other document is needed from you, when your eligibility review starts etc. These stages are updated with time stamps letting you know the date they were updated.

You can't tell the exact stage your app is at any moment, you just have to trust their process.

Hello johnstan
Please i want to apply to different universities in ontario for undergraduate program with my waec result (2003), though i have bsc already with 3rd clasd, my questions goes this way
1. Is it better to fill general application for universities in ontario and include the school name or should i directly fill out application for the particular school
2. For test of English language, any idea on how it can be waived
3. Please any idea of schools that have high admission rate for international student.
Thank you
If I remember, you will pick a school from the list of schools on the ocas site and follow through with the application based on the various information required.

You will need to confirm the English language requirement from the schools website before you proceed to the ocas site to apply.

I'm not aware of schools with high admission rates, simply check that your preferred school is a DLI, confirm their requirements and proceed.

Good luck.

Pls who has used access bank recently for Form A. How long does it take access bank to debit?
From recent feedback, it depends on the amount you're intending to process. It can take up to 40 days for lower amounts but if you intend to pay like a full year tuition like say 10k CAD it may take forever cos of fx issues.

You can try to pay all at once and wait it out or pay per semester.

Good luck.

welcome
I’ve been texting your email, for school admission
Thanks, Its an old email and I don't have access to it.

Is there anything I can help u with?

Admission is not so difficult, just apply using the international student option for your preferred school and pay their app fee. Within 3weeks or less you will with be accepted or whitelisted depending on availability seats in the program.
To avoid being whitelisted, apply for an intake ahead not the immediate intake i.e instead of applying for winter 2023, apply for fall 2023. Hope you understand.

Good luck

@johnstan, i really appreciate your kind response to my question but still want more clarification on the issue of proof of funds with expenses.
1. I was admitted into the school that offers instalmental payment for the period of a year and the total amount to be paid for a year is 12,200cad and the monthly instalmental payment for the period of nine months is 1,355cad.
Which one out of the two will i add to the 10,000cad you made mention?.
Thanks
Bobomaigida has replied.

The payment plan is irrelevant. You are to demonstrate that you're capable of making the payments when they are due by providing POF with such balance READILY available i.e to be on the safe side and not funds in a fixed deposit with unknown due date for liquidation.

Good luck.

Good evening everyone
So I sent my updated admission letter to ircc recently, how do I know if they’ve seen it because I’m using an agent but I decided to send it myself
The only way to know is if you get a reply from the visa processing office via mail. The response can take a staggering 4 weeks or more so instead of worrying just ensure you send it a couple of times instead of once and then chill.

Good luck

Good morning house, I'm new on this platform and will like to know some things that will guide me to achieve success in study permit application journey.
How much of the proof of funds for the family of 2(husband and wife) need?.
In order to get it right, what are the document i need to get when filling out the application form on ircc website?.
What is the timeline processing for someone that was given an admission this month?.
I shall be grateful for your kind response.
Thanks
The minimum required documents you need are detailed on IRCC website, check for documents by country you will see what Nigerians are required to submit, add your own personal documents that you feel would make your app standout.

For POF, the minimum requirement is CAD10,000 for 1 yr. Note that this is for your expenses not for school fees.
Add your school fees for your duration to the living expenses and you're good to go.

Minimum student visa processing time is now 13weeks on IRCC website.

You don't necessarily need to show POF for all the years, you only need to show for 1yr and be able to convince the VO that subsequent years would not be an issue, however, if both of you are self sponsored then it's better to show POF for your full duration and beyond to show that even if you're leaving your source of income here you will be able to cater for yourselves without the idea of working in Canada to make up. Hope you're able to make sense out of this.

Good luck.

Good morning all, pls need urgent answer for this pls. Did Canadian Embassy consider age in granting student visa for undergraduate students. Am applying for undergraduate and am 33years of age and also the WAEC GCE am using is 2014 result. If eventually gotten the admission, will Canadian embassy grant me visa not minding the age or will they disqualify me due to the age. And also am trying to pay for my admission process but having difficulty in paying using my master card. Can someone help on that too.
Whilst age can be a determining factor, it only raises red flags if you're not able to explain your decision.
*Do you have a degree already and planing to go for another degree without considering the possibilities of career progression in relation to your previous degree/work experience.
*Do you have the finance to cater for 4yrs undergrad program including your living expenses and miscellaneous expenses.
*Are you intending to use your life savings without remainder. If you're using a third party sponsor, are you planning to use their life savings as POF without considering that they have their own expenses too.

If all these checks out effortlessly then you're good to go.

Naira cards don't work for international payments these days, you will need a USD card.

Good luck

HELLO HOUSE

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND KINDLY ADVISE

I was recently refused PPR based on the discrepancies that arouse from the employment in my previous TRV application not aligning with the employment in the recent PPR application.

So i want to apply for a study permit and I’m trying to corroborate all the error I had made in the past with proper documentation and alignment for all my previous work/activities in the last 10 years.

This is where my SOP and LOE comes in…

ANY RECOMMENDATION FOR AN SOP ADVISOR OR WRITER?
With this double task you will mostly likely pay someone to help you out. Why not jump on it and explain the shit out yourself with receipts. If you still insist on contracting someone there are gurus here to help you out.

Good luck.

Yes I understand you. While it seems to be a voluntary departure, we were not given any choice or option at all. Buy your flight ticket or remain in the holding facility you were kept.

I am looking for how best to explain this in my SOP for my application. I have curated a list of all the news media that carried the news.

How best can I present this situation in my SOP
You don't have to say too much to make the situation less horrible than it was. Simply write exactly what transpired and how you had to leave before your visa expired so that you could maintain good standing with their immigration policies and you will be fine.

Good luck

Your question is on re-applying if I'm correct.

It's a new application so you will start afresh Login to your profile on IRCC, select apply as usual, upload required documents as usual, attach your e-medical sheet for your medicals. You don't need any document to attach for your biometrics, it will be updated.
