Hadizy:
Is it pointless to visit Rome if you don't intend to move there? Is it pointless to see a movie if you're not going to buy the DVD? Is it pointless to drink a really good beer when you know you'll be peeing it away within the hour? Lol!!

Live for now, not later. Do you choose friends based on whether or not you will know them for the rest of your life? No, unless you're some kind of weirdo. The same principle applies here. Why stop hanging with someone you enjoy?

Romance is unpredictable. Anything can happen. We rarely know who we'll fall for. Love is sneaky like that. ( The guy's / lady is married? People get divorced. He's gay? People become straight. He's your brother? Okay, that one's an absolute definite no, although you could probably find a country somewhere in the world where you could marry. ) But...ew.

All I'm saying is don't be so sure you know what's going to happen. You don't.

Even if you do know, even if never marry the guy, it's still not pointless. He's a friend, maybe even a friend with benefits. Being with him makes you happy; is it a waste of time for you to be happy? Is it pointless to get laid? Every relationship is a practice run for the Big One. We learn a little something about life and about ourselves from everyone we date. Is that pointless? Au contraire, mon amie!

I am not into law but common sense and reason tells me (In fact, as seen on movies) that the actions of those soldiers was grave.
They attacked (opened fire) at a very senior military personnel. That is so wrong.
I do not see any other punishment to give them other than that.
I trust GEJ anyway, he may want to look into it but of course not so soon.
Agbakoba is not saying what they did was right but the process with which they were convicted was wrong.

Only one person single handedly chose the judge, the jury and the executioner. Its totally wrong. This is death sentence we are talking about here. Once it has be executed there's no way you can correct any mistake discovered after. The best thing to do is to give them a very fair hearing as a Human being and not just kill them like chickens.

Babe abeg don't wound yourself because of this teams o. Just read a chelsea fan died upon seeing Lampard equalizer against his team.

Am a Barcelona supporter and I love the club not because they win most times but because of their style. The reason I like the club is more than football cos the club is also "Mes que un club" (more than a club).

So if they loose, it doesn't really affect me as long as they play to their style which I fell in love with and if they win playing their style then its a cherry on a cake.

Lily4star: Lol, Goodmorning Deary, I saw the topic initially but just didn't want to comment cos I hate repeating thesame thing over again.

Who's better between Martins and Amoebi?, he is the Coach, the Boss, we know we can't tell him what to do but the least he could do is listen to the opinion from the public, and select the reasonable ones, we re not saying Nacho should just magically take over Mikel, its not done that way, but just give the young man a slot and see what he has to offer as well as a host of other young players.

Seriously we re not talking about the Eagles of now, we want to ve a team for the future, in the next world cup year what ll the SE team look like?, will it be a team other teams would get frightened of?, or we ll just keep being mere participants in tournaments instead of making a remarkable impact.

Now he is making it obvious he is full of pride. Keshi is not that Coach that ll give us what we need, his team lacks tact, agility, no style of play, terrible with set-pieces, porous midfield, poor defence, and the annoying thing he isn't even doing anything about it.

Yet instead of taking the blame for hi poor performance after a match, he always gets to look for who to heep the blame on. What kind of a Coach does that?.

Abeg I no want dey talk about anything concerning Keshi and Mikel again.

Nacho not breaking into the Man City first 11 isn't cos the lad aint good enough,

Pellgrini said and I quote

"The lad is very good, in training he is dangerous around the box, give him 5 chances and he ll convert 3"

He is the boss make em enjoy em stay while it last.
If I can like this comment a thousand and one times I would.

Perfectly analysed. I have nothing to say again. I think I will also follow suit on your Mikel and Keshi stance. I will even take it further to my previous stance which was to hibernate my mind from thinking anything SE. Let me go back to my beloved La Liga.

Thank you and wonderful morning to u too babe. Hope you're having a great day.

gift01: You obviously don't lone about that route. Lagos State Government has been so slow at road construction that they've been at between Mile 2 and Agboju for over 2yrs now. People are really suffering plying that route. Traffic there is the worst in Lagos
Where was FG when Fasola started the construction of a road that should have been done by them. Its obvious the project is eating deep into the budget of the state government and its part of what contributed to lagos state having almost half of Nigeria's foreign debt. Yet, in the midst of all, Fitch still upgraded Lagos state's debt rating to AA+. Few countries have this rating. It says a lot about the administration of the state.

Lily4star: Please Deary, don't even talk about Congo cos they were a better team that played with confidence, drive, tact, skill, it was more like they were the home team, I don't want to even start pointing out things in that match cos I ll go on and on, our defence was porous, even Ejide keeps panicking, the difference between that guy is just too much, it ll be like comparing Ike Shoromu to Rufai, or Dea Gea to Casilas(when he's in form).

And against South Africa I swear we got Lucky, can remember the name of the guy that Marshalled their mid field that made Mikel and Onazi look like they were been bullied, if we continue with this styless form of play, South Africa ll beat us at home here or the least we ll get is a draw, except Keshi does something fast.
Babe! please don't break my heart by reversing. Lily4star: Trust me Nacho ll make an impact but just him won't magically change that team, we still need a host of other young players.

We need a team for the future, I hear people clamouring Uche, Ozasie, Enyeama and I laugh, how old will these guys be in the next World cup year 2018?, along with players who re 28 and above in the current team now, and know in Nigeria when a player is 28 he is 33-35 if not more, the time for a change is now but NFF re after their own pockets so they re blind to see all that, we ll keep struggling with this mentality.
This is the more reason why we need a new and better coach. I see Keshi to be someone like mourinho who prefers only established but hungry players to young talents. Coaches who want their instructions taken hook line and sinker by players.

I tell you keshi would rather bring in players that are hungry for success to the point they won't be able to go against his ideas. Rather than players who have their own vision of how football is played. Looking at all the substitutions he has been making will gvie you an insight that he doesn't know to blent different players.

Lily4star: Not only Nacho, we still ve a host of other wonderful talents, Sincerely Keshi is just a Coach who has lots of luck on his side, he keeps dropping our best players, I was asking myelf wtf was Shola Ameobi of all people doing in the World Cup?, am sure you watched Naija world cup performance, the team lacked drive going forward skill, poor passing ability, just running from one end to another with no tactics and style of play, they just kick and follow the ball, trust me winning the last Nations cup was a fluke, remember our progression from the group stage was a dying minute miracle. I know we ve a team somewhere, but we can never ve that team with Keshi still being Naija's Coach.
Am in love with your analytical brain. Am 100% with you on ur points.

Talking about the world cup, even the england team that is traditionally known for not possessing skillful players had the likes of sterling, wilshere and sturidge who were all skillful and contributed to the dynamism of their attack.

Ours was just 'run at them and bully them'. We might have succeeded at bullying other african countries in the past (at the nations cup) because our boys are much bigger than them but these people cannot be fooled twice and that is why we lost to congo and could only manage a draw against South Africa.

Lily4star: Thank you jare Deary, wa gbaye. You will live long
I quite understand and support your views on it. I was even of the opinion that Keshi should've taken the guy to the world cup. But wat most people fail to understand is that Keshi lacks the technical ability/knowledge to deal with skillful players, players that can think outside the box, players that can improvise. Reason why he said IK uche doesn't play to instruction.

Keshi has built the most skill-less team I've ever seen in my life.

Skillful players like Nacho needs coaches that can understand their game and give them the freedom they need to do the damage.

vislabraye: . And you think Mascherano's contribution wasn't outstanding ? I would rate De Maria and Mascherano above Messi.
There's a difference between work rate and outstanding contribution. Suarez only played two games for Uruguay and they won the games he played. Meaning they only have him to thank for their qualification in d first place cos without his goals, uruguay wouldn't have qualified from the group stage. Same goes for Messi.

Take out messi and his goals from the team and argentina would've been home since group stage. That is how important messi was for the team.

well Di Maria and Masheranos's contributions were outstanding, so enyeama, Ochoa, Navas, James rodrigez, Arjen roben, thomas Muller and a host of others but whose contribution was the most outstanding? The one that his country would've failed without. This I believe belongs to Messi who scores the teams opening goal against Bosnia, the sole 92nd min. Goal against Iran, the first two goals against Nigeria, assisted dimarias goal against belgium. No other player in the tournament combined the two (goals and assists) successfully as messi did. This is exactly it. Most guys who watch football knows next to nothing about football. All they do is follow the band wagon or start spewing rubbish after listening to some poor opinions. Even @safarigirl I doubt her true knowledge of football (nothing personal but I just don't think she does). heykims: I have a different combination. In any national affair, I rep Nigeria before I rep Africa for d country deserves good representation in d continent. However, in any affair in which d whole continent is involved, I will consider myself first an African before being a Nigerian because d continent deserves a better representation in d global scene.
You putting Africa first shows you know little about patriotism which is the rational behind my combination. So I will make it simple for you to understand.

Am a human being before being a child to my parents(family), before being a citizen of my community, before my local government before my state, before my tribe(Yoruba) before my country (Nigeria), before west africa, before Africa.

You putting Africa first goes to show that you will defend the interest of Africa first before that of your immediate family.

That is what they call ROOT. When you talk about patriotism, you talk about defending the interest of where u come from "YOUR ROOT".

If after this you still maintain your stance then that justifies the last statement in my previous comment but this time around you can remove the last word and put in the first element in the "roots line" I created in the second paragraph of this comment.
Sports › Re: Mikel Winning AFOTY Award Will Be An Insult To African Football by jomoh: 8:17am On Jan 03, 2014
heykims: It is January and very soon , the African footballer of the year 2013 will be named in Lagos Nigeria precisely on the 9th of January. The player to be crowned with this feat should however be very much evaluated and deemed fit to earn this prestigious honour because his personality on the field of play either in the national team or club will go a long way in speaking for African football.

CAF released the final 10-man shortlist of the contenders of this prestigious award last year and interestingly, four Nigerian players made the list. Many Nigerians and even Africans have however tipped John Obi Mikel as the possible winner evident from the fact that he won the Nations cup last year, Europa cup in Europe, participated in d Confederations cup and so on.

MY VIEW
As a Nigerian and a proud African, I see it as not just underscoring but extremely insulting to African football if a player like Mikel wins the award. How can a mere bench warmer in Europe be crowned the African footballer of the year just by virtue of the fact that his national team wins a title or his club wins the European league?

A deserving footballer of the hear should be such that is very resourceful both at home and in clubs. A reigning footballer of the year should at least even make the top three best player in his club even if he doesn't get a spot in the FIFA ranking.

Mikel Obi surely can't make the best ten in Chelsea's team despite being a senior player. I'm of the view that its better not to name anyone the footballer of the year than titling a bench warmer in Europe, what a mock, an insult I can't tolerate as an African.

Nigerians should be please stop being sentimental, selfish and self centred and canvass for a better representative for African football.

Left to me, if at all a Nigerian merits the award, it is Vincent Enyeama, the Nigeria's assistant skipper at goal but Cote d'Ivoire's Yaya Toure surely represents Africa better.

What's your view?
As much as you want a good representation for Africa in the presence of the whole, you have forgotten that you are trading your Primary heritage for a secondary one. MEANING irrespective of your "African patriotism, you are first and foremost a NIGERIAN" therefore you should strive to defend your "Primary heritage" before the "Secondary". That would have proven that you are not a tribalist.

Mikel might be a bench warmer in europe but you can bet he is the best representation for Africa and Nigeria in terms of contribution to his national team and achievement since Enyeama has being omitted by CAF.

FYI I am a Yoruba man before being a Nigerian and a Nigerian before being an African. I DON'T KNOW YOUR OWN COMBINATION but you an embarrassment to our nation.

Still I see people talking about "decentralization of government and other form of governments as solution to our problems.

Typical Nigerians, trying to solve simple problem with complex solutions. *SMH*

SIMPLE SOLUTION: let other states develop their cities (improve the economic activities in their states) so their indigenes will stop migrating to Lagos.

Before OBJ left office he approved the construction of INLAND CONTAINER DEPORTS (dry ports) in the six geopolitical zones of the federation. All in a bid to decongestion the ports in Lagos and ultimately Lagos state as a whole. Till today no state/zone has completed its own let alone commission it. You can imagine the number of people that will be directly and indirectly employed through those ports. If you can imagine how many people is directly/indirectly employed through the Ports in lagos state alone the you should have an idea of what am talking about.
Politics › Re: Fashola's Government Is Not As Good As You Think by jomoh: 5:11am On Jan 02, 2014
Its quite unfortunate how naive and shallow minded people(most nigerians) still are at this 21st century when ordinarily a 15year old will know why a state with a population of over 20million residents still appear underdeveloped like its bordering 'states' of populations less than 5million each despite having bigger land sizes.

Whether you choose to accept it or not lagos state will continue to be at this level until other states take up their economic responsibilities as a state which will reduce the number of immigrants into lagos state.

If they like let them build 10million low cost housing estates. The more u build the more the population will grow.

Lagos state is about the only active state in the whole of south-west in terms of economy. Others only wait for the federal allocation to run their states.
