I grew up surrounded by historians, linguists and writers. Science is my main scholarly interest.

Maybe because it's a very ancient language, in African terms in how how it has been preserved. But extremely rich in idiomatic expressions.

Despite interaction with East and West, and some level of acculturation both ways, Benin Language was pretty much well preserved. Compare to Yoruba that have basically now made Oyo dialect common dialect. Common/Oyo Yoruba is displacing other dialects locally, for example, in Eastern Yorubaland. My observation visiting those places. Oyo dialect was quite influenced by Arabic and Languages to the North. Despite being preserved, simplification is more likely. I may be wrong though.

Coptic, Chinese, Sanskrit, Greek, Korean, Hebrew, Aramaic, Tamil, Persian Farsi and even Arabic don't sound easy on the ear. These are very very old languages still in use. I have heard people speak all these languages first hand except Aramaic which I have only heard spoken in audio/recorded form/film.

English, for example, came from Old German and it sounds much easier on the ear than modern German, Dutch or Danish/Norwegian that are much closer to their old Ur-Germanic language. English was much influenced by French (infusing most Latin words we have in English now) after 1066 Conquest by William, Duke of Normandy.

When you get your arewnistan or oduduwnistan republic,you can practice it there but not in Nigeria. Everyone is scared of accusing the Presidency.
President Jonathan was called out for what he was not. Now Everyone is scared of calling out the Presidency for who he is.
The Northern elites have handed over political distractions to the south while they push their agenda to full scale.
Repentant terrorist, infused into the system. Now they have access to a chopper. Not a danfo. A chopper that requires training from a skilled, experience personnel. Moles in the military. Push for RUGA by the presidency. Enhancing of access routes to Niger Republic. Ugly divisional statements made in the past, that suggests affiliation and same ideology with Terrorists.
No Nigerian elite will call out the Presidency and Northern elites out, while the clouds overhead aren't dark yet. Call up the international community and sue the Presidency for enhancing terrorism by negligence, feigning ignorance.
Will there even be a Nigeria in 2023 for a Peter Obi to lead, or a Tinubu, or an Atiku ..,
Never seen a people lacking foresight to this degree.

So today, I was catching up with my buddies when this topic came up. We analyzed it critically with everybody giving his/her own opinions.

I found out that, man! A woman can easily and quickly forgive a man who cheated on her than a man to do so.

Some of my buddies opined that men are polygamous in nature hence, the natural exception. I find their assertions quite disturbing. Because if a woman can forgive and accept back a man who cheated on her, so should a man.

A lady who was with us also said that even though men are the ones who cheat the most, when a woman cheats; all hell let loose. But if it's a man, no noise is heard. Why so??

The other dude was like, if his woman cheats, he'd forgive and accept her. But it's just for the fun of it. That he won't take her serious again.

So in the end, men cheating is somehow normal and acceptable. But a woman's own is a sacrilege and abomination.

It's the double standard for me.

Too many Nigerians don't know that what matters most about one's country is how happy one is over one's country, not how big or rich one's country is.

Too many Nigerians don't understand that there are many rich countries with population less than half a million people.
Many of these Nigerians only do "let's pray for peace for Nigeria." And as they are praying, and scheeming for juicy political offices in Nigeria, Fulani teror cells gradually surround every corner of Nigeria in their bid to completely take control of the whole country and its natural resources.
