Two hours later, I sat next to lilly's bed "Hello lily" I said tenderly "Hi Mr. Smith" "How're we doing today?" I had to lean down and speak right into her ear for her to hear me. Her voice was becoming more slurred. Sometimes, when lily was having a bout of pain and depression, she didn't speak, didn't move. It became too much of an effort for her. She just lay still and stared at the ceiling. "I'm fine Mr. Smith" "Can I get you anything?" "No". I studied her tenderly. Mr heart ached. Why should she go through so much suffering? "Am I gonna die Mr. Smith"? Her question shocked me...shook my very being. I couldn't break down right in front of her. "Yes lily" The words were choked "How does it feel to be dead"? ....... I stroked her hair tenderly. I didn't know what to say. What would I say to a little girl who has known nothing but pain since she was born? "Thank you for staying with me" she said "Hey, don't thank me kiddo, I love staying with you" She slowly turned her head and managed a smile, then she closed her eyes, and the heart rate monitor began to give the emergency beep. I was dazed...I stood aside as the nurses and the doctor on duty raced to the bed with a defibrillator. "She's gone into cardiac arrest"! "Charge it"! "Okay, clear"! They shot charges through her heart. I watched as they did it three times, tears flowing. The third time, she revived. They stabilized her, and I just went to her thin body and hugged her. "I love you lily" I remembered doing this. Four years ago. I hugged the body of my son as he lay in the hospital in coma. His mother had died instantly some hours before, in a terrible road accident. Two days later, he died... |

Sarassin: Excuse me, erm have I missed something ?no sir, I don't think he is. There are many factors to be considered when examining the geneology of Christ. Many jewish factors. There's the fact that a man who doesn't have male sons and dies can have his brother marry his wife and bear male sons to carry on his name. We cannot all be gullible.you think they lack substance because you're too proud. God opposes the proud. Its a wonder sometimes that one can't see the simplicity of salvation. You think you might be smart by classifying christianity as a religion and calling its members foolhardy and stupid and unintelligent, but before God, you're a man who thinks himself to be wise. I advise you to be careful sir, drop the pride. The very fact that you're parading yourself to be critical and cute says something is wrong. Don't let a circumstance wake you up to reality when its too late. Jesus never liked proud people. And God shall never accept them in his kingdom. |

Man stands guilty. God has given the way of salvation: Jesus Christ. With him, we escape wrath and condemnation of hell because of our sins and we're given the gift of salvation because of God's mercy. |

Heathen: Sin is for christians and no one else right?  Can you put your question in better terms please? All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The difference is that we christians realized we were sinners and accept God's mercy and salvation and deliverance from the power of darkness. |

You're a hell headed person, and He's a love and salvation obsessed God. That's the reason you hear him calling people to repent everyday. Like now. He's extravagant in saving from sin and giving eternal life. It's just that some people accept this generous gift. Others refuse and rebel, building shallow false 'reasons' and 'foolish thinking' as their basis for rebellion. Why die? God is not interested in people going to hell. For the wages of sin is death, but the FREE-GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. |
