Politics › Re: President, Governors Should Have Minimum Of University Degree - CONFAB by jpphilips(m): 12:30pm On Jul 08, 2014
NSNA: Pure Nonsense.

In this day and age you really don't need a paper certificate to know more than many of the so called professors..

Ask google
You will equally endorse the use of Google to run the affairs of over 170m people and manage billions of dollars in revenue.
IMHO, I don't think that being a graduate (BSc, HND) alike is the issue but we need a level of competitive restriction in Nigerian politics, There are a lot of touts in our polity.

The Average Nigerian politician can not stand a par with his contemporaries elsewhere it is pitiful and embarrassing, yet Nigerians who bear the brunt cannot see that our leadership need to be controlled.

Look at the crisis in the Judiciary, there are so many loop holes that people who can afford smart lawyers evade justice, we always cry that the judge is corrupt, but the truth is that the law itself is not water tight, which begs the question, who made the laws?

Who are the people in the upper and lower house who gulp 40% of the Nations earning to make these laws? I will like them to recommend a law degree for all lawmakers, if you want to be a senator, go an extra mile to get a law degree, when you listen to the pro and anti arguments in our chambers, it sounds like beer parlor talk, no facts, no reference, what you hear is mere gossip, anecdotes and conjectures, it doesn't make sense.

Nigeria is the way it is because its affairs is piloted by semi mad people. being a graduate wont solve the problem but it will draw a line of control for men like Ifeanyi uba a tout to stop disturbing Anambra politics.

Why I said being in graduate wont solve all the problem is a Gov like Amaechi who is a graduate by the way, the WHO announced that Rivers state is a cholera red zone, now the Govt went to apply for a foreign 27yrs old loan to provide portable water for his people, meanwhile all the allocation that accrued to his state is used for a senseless Mono rail project.

In other words, the Gov prefer to in debt his state to provide basic amenities while he uses his allocations for jamboree, now tell me what kinda wisdom is that?

Amaechi went to Lagos and saw the BRT idea and brought it to rivers, now, he could not create a separate BRT lane for his buses hence the new buses have to ply the usual traffic and worsened the already bad traffic situation in the state, His BRT could not stand as an alternative to using the vehicle which was the primary reason for setting it up, tell me where is the wisdom in that man?

We need graduates as administrators in Nigeria as an element of control to deter Okada men from delving into our politics but if we want to get it right,

A management higher degree and experience in area of management for a specified number of years for the president, Governors and LGA chairmen.

A compulsory Law degree for all law makers for both federal and state, haba! the political mumu!! in this country is getting out of hand.

A paltry 87% to become an overall National Mathematics champion in Nigeria? chei chei chei! there is god oo!
between 1999 and 2002 when I checked, nobody took first place with less than 98%, it is either schools are no longer interested in the competition for a block head to emerge tops or Academics have so fallen to the ebb.

What about the NMC (National Mathematics center) organized mathematics competition? used to be hot in our days.
is it still around?

Also remember, he clearly stated at the beginning of his argument that our health/educational system like our other public systems ar3 modelled after the british's,not after the american system where the plethora of this non-hospital based consultants exist.

Health › Re: NMA And NARD Declare An Indefinite Strike From July 1st At 00.00hrs by jpphilips(m): 4:06pm On Jul 07, 2014
bumfem: ncerely doctors need not worry about other professional method of progression so far the appointment of consultancy are regulated by govt approved bodies.

More so, they are consultant in their various profession and not in medicine. If the govt that fund this regulatory bodies is fine with the standard set for appointment of consultancy so be it. I see no reason why NMA seem to be crying than the bereaved.

Consultancy are confer on other health professional in western world ,whose system we are trying to copy. I see no reason why NMA is not comfortable with this.

In modern medicine, lab investigations are far becoming sacrosant to making informed impression that drives appropriate care and also to be at safer side of the law medicolegally. Nigerian physicians do what they like and call it practice because there are no laws protecting our patient here or laws are not been enforced.

Off course, making correct diagnosis starts from history taking in other to enrich yourself in review of system and system review . In most cases in modern medical practice, data collection/lab investigation/and or imaging follows in other to make informed evaluation of the problem.

In fact NMA need to focus on improving nigeria healthcare index in africa not to talk of the world. And get busy instead of fighting who becomes what in hospital. Respects are earn and not by intimidation and share blackmail.
When you hinge your argument on the bold part of your post, first paragraph, I get irritated, Fine, if you feel you want to assume a position that threatens the nation much less health care, you must straighten your position with facts and logic to make sense to even the president who may not be a Health practitioner.

By your statement "doctors need not worry about other professional method of progression" It is clear what JOHESU or whatever you guys call them is fighting for.
You want the doctor not to care about your academic progression yet you want to lead a hospital where doctors work? do you as support health care providers take hospitals to be a Mechanic workshop?

You don't go on strike to broaden your curriculum, but you want to lead a hospital, how do you guys think, can you try that in a company?

A theater nurse should be striking for their curriculum to be broadened to include surgery so that the experience can be utilized in the absence of a surgeon, that is what will benefit the patient.

A pharmacist wants to head the hospital just because he has a cubicle of drugs in a hospital? what kinda logic is this? A doctor did courses in pharmacology, pathology etc like you but your curriculum did not cover some of his eg surgery, on what grounds are you leading a doctor?
what kind of professionals do we have in Nigeria? you guys make a mockery of commonsense with your petty logic.

A radiographer wants to head a Hospital, did they forget that there is a radiologist who is a doctor that specialized in radiography? who has the academic prowess to lead each other?

Look at ordinary lab scientist whom a Biochemist have covered their curriculum in natural science will want to head a hospital? haba! sometimes when your union people pass a circular, the people with sense should challenge it in house before throwing it out to the public, to avoid embarrassment.

Any health care worker can head a hospital but for the sake of the patient, go round all the departments in health care to assume the competence to do so.

I will love a nurse to be able to correct a doctor who made a wrong prescription not because he or she has spent sometime with a doctor but because he or she has passed through the academic training that permit her to do so, that is what I call "MERIT" not some wish wash of being a health care professional, health care team and other nonsense, train, study and be competent before dragging positions.

From the time of JAMB, the physician have started sweating, going by the cut off mark of all the health sciences for the past 20yrs, the doctor is bestowed with one of the highest, the curriculum is so broad that most times they leave the university so old, how would you reward such hard work, dedication and commitment? by making a cleaner his boss in the name of health care professionals?

It doesn't take long they will run to America to tell us how their CMD's are ordinary administrators, but they fail to tell us that the final clinical shot as regards treatment and diagnosis is called by the doctor, that being the case, the CMD position abroad is ceremonial, why do we need such nonsense in Nigeria? It happens in America doesn't make it right, to me it is mere bureaucracy.
why cant the highest ranking doctor call the shot for the whole Hospital? why do we need a novice administrator who may be consulting same doctors to take some decisions?

Let me remind JESHU or whatever that Nature follows the path of least resistance, the reason people still study hard to aspire to go through the rigors of medical school is because of the perks that comes with being a doctor, those privileges "MUST" never be compromised.

Any attempt to harmonize their benefit will not only enthrone incompetence in health care delivery but will make medicine unattractive.
why will i go through medical school when I will enjoy same benefit with a doctor as a parasitologist?

On what grounds should an air hostess earn the same as the Pilot? just because she feels she serves coffee to the passengers? what kind of logic are we throwing around in Nigeria? If an air hostess want the same perks and privilege as a Pilot, by all means the Aeronautic school is open for anyone to go through the stress.

There must be parity in benefit for all the health care workers, If you want to chop like a consultant, kindly go through medical school, you cannot reap where you did not sow.

To believe that people who ended up in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Bio chemistry, Medical lab science were actually people who couldn't make it past MB or some who the JAMB cut off truncated their desire to be doctors, In the Hospital you want "Harmonized salaries" with doctors, thieves!!

If you like the official vehicle or the house incentive given to your CMD, by all means go to the medical school. we don't honor hard work in this country, The super eagles trained consistently for over 3yrs to qualify and prosecute the Nations cup qualifiers, the Nation's cup, the world cup qualifiers and the world cup proper, in the middle of the tournament, the FA is still haggling with their bonuses.

when are we going to enthrone merit and hard work in this country? nobody wants to work hard but they want the best life, look at the judiciary furore in this country, the judiciary is handicapped because there are so many loop holes in our laws, to believe it is our highest paid public servants that made those s!lly laws is disheartening.

You cannot give a doctor his deserved honor but we spend billions on militants, thieves whose radicalism nearly crippled our economy.

On the part of the Govt, the only solution is to privatize all our hospitals which will lead to increase medical cost, a subsidized health insurance scheme will then take care of that. when I buy the hospital, let the Aux. nurse tell me to pay her a par with the Doctor, lemme slap her to mortuary condition.

By the way I am not a doctor, I cant even stand a stinking toto let alone f0ndle with it in the name of being a gynecologist, yuck!!

The way you guys celebrate mediocrity dey tire me oo, you sound like you have not been following the tournament.
Iran scored highest in Asian qualification, Nigeria couldn't get a goal against them let alone win, Argentina won them, to tell us that what we couldn't do, Messi could, when it was Nigeria vs argentina, they won us flat (never mind some smoke heads like you who thought Naija will win).

With bosnia, Dzeko's goal was annulled the reason we even qualified else those clowns will be home.

Our group is one of the most lenient yet we managed to qualify with just 4 points as against the group winner with 9 points (shame enough?)
All the group winners so far have eliminated their runners up in this second round.

Brazil, Columbia, Netherlands, Costarica have all moved on as group champions yet a jingoist thinks France will be any different, well, not if something is done.

Our Mid field with Mikel is a joke, our strikers improved in the last game, a confused Efe Ambrose and a slow Yobo is a disaster, will be better if Oboabona plays in the second half when yobo will gas out!. Those guys will surely score an own goal or give away a dangerous free kick or a penalty when Benzema start terrorizing.

At this age and time we still have a coach who defends a lone goal advantage for a whole half
Either ways our boys are coming home, not a woeful performance though, Keshi maintained the record.

Does the super eagles have what it takes to go to the next round? NO

Will super Win the french? very unlikely except the French goes 2 men down.

Politics › Re: We Don't Know Where Chibok Girls Are - US by jpphilips(m): 11:28am On Jun 30, 2014
shaggy007: [size=15pt]I've said it before and I'll say it again...No girls were kidnapped. Even a blind man can see through the propaganda...

The APC is trying very hard to paint GEJ black. Since they can't touch him, they want the international communities to attack him. Anyway, my president can't be bothered by nonsense.

These idiots just went to the streets of the north and paid off a few girls to pretend they were kidnapped...who is fooling who?

Now, when the girls were initially kidnapped, Shekau released some videos claiming they were the ones that kidnapped the girls....but in those videos, no girls were shown. The real Shekau would have proudly displayed the girls in his first video after the kidnap. So after people noticed that he didn't display any girls (duh, he never had them), he then went ahead and paid off some poor girls to do a video with him. After they've done the video shoot, they were dismissed; oh wait, you think those guys have time to babysit 200 and something girls? By the way, how many girls were displayed in the video?

And after the girls were purportedly kidnapped, we asked for their names. After a cat and mouse game with the media, and just barely 2weeks ago, their names and pictures were released to the press. Why wasn't it done instantly? Why were their names and pictures released after 2months of being in captivity? Why doesn't the school have a record of the kidnapped girls? How many northerners go to school? The few that are in school cannot be accounted for.

I repeat, who is fooling who?...I'll answer that...the northerners are fooling Nigerians. Majority of Nigerians are gullible....very very dumb. They believe anything. You see a video and believe the content. When you guys start thinking logically, Nigeria will cease to be a third world country.

It took the US only a few days to realize that something wasn't right. They left Nigeria as quickly as they came. They didn't even stay up to a week in Nigeria before they diffused.

And all those saying that the FG has confirmed that girls were kidnapped, or OBJ offered to help or some other bull5h1t, that goes to show how gullible you guys are.

Did GEJ go to sambisa himself to confirm the kidnap? Didn't he send people to confirm it? Can you vouch for the reliability of those people he sent? Can't they be bribed to provide false reports?

And as for OBJ, don't you guys know when a person is talking in parables? He said he has contacted bokoharam but the girls will NEVER be released. Why? What does he mean by that? What he means is that no girls were kidnapped. OBJ can't openly say it like that, he's a very cunning fellow.

That how all you Muslim and christian f001s literally believe everything in the Quran and the bible. You don't know when something is being said in parables.

GenBuhari: many on this forum were too young to witness his 20 months of competent sterwardship of our nation.

He achieved so much in his war against corruption between Dec1983 and Aug 1985.

He is patriotic, has integrity and is the only ex-leader not living in opulance.

Unlike IBB and OBJ he was not a western stooge and held out for the best deal for Nigeria in negotiations with IMF.

He jailed over 600 corrupt politicians and businessmen and refused to release them until their loot was recovered. He even tried to forcifully kidnap Shagari's defence minister from the UK, who had stolen billions of dollars after British government refused to send him back to Nigeria.
There was less crime, he took a hard line on all crime especially armed robbers and drug traffikers.

in just 20 months he improved Nigeria's trade deficit and national debt.

Jerry Rawlings of Ghana, that many of us admire, actually modelled himself on Buhari.

Nigeria's number one problem is corruption- once corruption is tackled, all other things from elections to development of electricity / infrastructure would work better.

Buhari is the only current politician with a proven record of effectively fighting corruption .

It is unfortunate that he was probably only otherthrow because Western countries like UK sponsored their stooge IBB probably with the help of the other western stooge Obj, to overthrow him. OBJ and IBB themselves were starting to come under Buhari's anti-corruption radar.

he may not be the best available, but he is a proven patriotic and non-corrupt leader.

Keshi should reconsider his position on using Mikel, a mid fielder who cannot make accurate passes, could not trade tackles shouldnt be in the squad, The effort of Onazi is the reason that mid field did not collapse, Messi was utilizing Mikel's space like he has a Nigerian passport.

Victor Moses needs to return, Yobo needs to retire, though his experience in the back line is the reason we haven't had any match suspension, red card or penalty but he needs to wake up.

Enyeama is a good shot stopper but Ike shoronmu have failed to teach him how to position himself, how could he have not known that messi has just one free kick option in the far right as a left footer?
He played the first one and second in the same direction, it still baffles me why Enyeama went the other way?

Ambrose is another waste, he is a central defender at Celtic, why is Keshi playing him as a right back? he cant dribble, as such cannot make crosses when he manages to overlap he doesn't return, since Mikel has murdered the mid field, it takes Osaze to return and cover up for him.

This squad has about 4 non performing wings as such will not make it beyond the knock out stage, perhaps we maintain the 94" record.

My Dobale goes to Ogenyi Onazi though I think that shot that handicapped Babatunde should be directed to the Argentine keeper.
