You are wrong. I wore 5 and a half inch heels the other day and I had to readjust the tilt of my steering wheel just so my knees would fit under. 5 and a half is not the highest I wear either. If you are wearing shoes that high and they are easy to take off it is actually safer to take them off.
I repeat, a good driver drives with anything including crutches.

DaLover: You still keep wanting government to do things for you which you can do for yourself...in spit of the proven track record of governments inability to do so...lets keep rotating people...maintain the same ideology...and see how far it will get us..
it beats my intelligence why you chase me around on all threads either asking to be tutored or your wanton display of poor comprehesion skills without restraint, so you shall know, I don't belong to the kingdom of m0r0ns kindly look for your likes without my posts in your quotes.

where in that post did I ask the govt to do anything for me? is the govt setting up a regulatory agency only for jp philips? are you the person to set up one?
who regulates imports, manufacturing and exports in other countries?

I thought you would have laid this thread to rest a long time.
lemme use this opportunity to remind you that most working married women on this thread have contributed immensely to church building projects behind their hubby's back.
if that is the case, who does the church belong to? not even your enemy but a random sweet talking shampoo rubbing pastor from god knows where.
for the umpteenth time you are lucky she used her money or urs by proxy to build a house for herself or her family, it could have been worse.

Pattey: How did the OP declare he is irresponsible? You've been ranting on and on about how men visit brothels, drink till midnite bla bla bla. . . See, if you're a lady and you're experiencing that, keep your frustration in check!

You're simply trying to draw up sentiments and another silly girl seems to be following your lead with comments here.

You're not helping anyone by using false scenarios to justify something that is simply wrong! It seems you feel the OP left out "some facts" and you're making them up to have a mental orgazzzm.

#side note: I can't belive Seun substituted Orgazzm with "Heavenly Feeling" cheesy# That sounds like blasphemy angry grin

Egba girl: That has nothing to do with good driving. It's a preference. Many times, women are wearing heels and some other crazy shoes, you certainly don't expect them to drive with those do you? Woman shoe no be d same as man own o. Woman own na fashion and fashion is not always comfy.
when you cant drive with your shoes, it shows that you are no where near being a good driver.
only if you know what driving is, your shoes are the least of your worries.

Politics › Re: Dangote Visits Jonathan After Signing Refinery Loan Deal by jpphilips(m): 9:20pm On Nov 03, 2013
DaLover: Ol boy, wetin be ur own self?
I am honestly not understanding ur very smart logic..let break it down mathematically
Lets use assumed figures
1-cost of producing a barrel of crude=$25
2-international cost of a barrel of crude=$100
3-cost of transporting a barrel of crude to Europe for instance=$2
4-cost of transporting a barrel of crude locally=$1
5-cost of refining a barrel of crude=$5

For the importer without subsidy payment, plus import duties, plus punitive protection tax, we have
$100+(2x$2)+$1+$5 or $110
Hence the landing cost for an importer on a barrel of oil equivalent would be $110, this could go up much further if he government decides to apply protection tax for local refineries and import duties

For the local refiner/producer, his cost should be
$100+$1+$5 or $106,

Hence the local producers output of crude should be cheaper,

Please kindly add other factors that I missed, so I can understand you properly.
it doesn't work that way, refer to previous threads where this issue has been thrashed if you really wanna learn.

I still remember vividly in 2011 when we were campaigning for him the present SW crops were so against him because of their affiliation with Ribadu.
does it mean that these rebranders of buhari actually knew he was a good stock but waited for an alliance before the truth is said?

Phones › Re: Annoying Messages Sent By Telecom Service Providers by jpphilips(m): 10:46am On Nov 01, 2013
Bolt2011: You were probably expecting a romantic text message from your lover, a credit alert from your bank, an invitation to a job interview or test, and the likes but then your phone beeps and the excitement dies down immediately you open the message. It is unfortunately one of those disappointing messages we receive from our telecommunication service providers. They are either asking you to subscribe to jokes, health tips, caller tunes, sport news or romantic texts.

If these service providers could only sample the opinion of subscribers, they would probably discover that most people find these messages very disappointing and annoying, but then we receive as many as 6 to 10 of such messages daily. Some people have carelessly or erroneously subscribed for these so called 'value added services' and usually regret they did. Daily, weekly or monthly charges of up to N50 or N100 usually apply. Sometimes they are deducted anytime the subscriber recharges. People try all they could to unsubscribe, but its usually not as easy as the almost automatic manner of subscription. My dad was a victim of this exploitative service for about 3 months. We tried to no avail to get him unsubscribed until he got angry and called the customer care agent threatening to attack them with his traditional god (sango). grin

I use two sims cards (MTN and etisalat) but as you would expect, MTN sends the highest number of annoying messages. I delete them immediately I read 'MTN' and wished I could do something to stop the disturbance.
How do you feel when you receive one of those messages from your telecom service providers? Do you find them disturbing or necessary? What's your opinion?

I have made front page again o #dancingSkelEtighAzonto grin

Family › Re: Things Men Find Irresistible In A Woman by jpphilips(m): 1:54am On Nov 01, 2013
Nancyij37: Every lady should be aware of those things men find irresistible in a woman, what they appreciate and what they don’t like. Thou is very difficult to find out what men think and wants because each individuals has its own understanding of how thing work. We have done series of research to find out those thing men find irresistible in a woman. They are:

Independent Woman: Men don’t like seeing women depend on them, they like those know what they want in life, have their own carriers and hobbies, as the family will be build by both efforts. This as well gives the man hope that even in his absent that his  (children) is safe and can be taken care of. This makes marriage very strong..

Best Friend: Men want their wife to be their best friend, some one they can trust, complain to and share concerns with. Any marriage where couples don’t share issue together is always compromise and always have problem in the short run.

Sweet and Beauty: Yes, This one is general with every man, they always want their wife to look beautiful, but in some extent they want sweet caring wife that can love and take good care of them, they also love a good sense of humor. If you don’t know how to handle problem with a bif smile, go and learn it.

Pressure Lady: Men don’t want to be pressured to do anything, they love pressure free woman, who will not always nag them, Every w=man should give the husband some privacy, so it will be great if don’t call or regularly send him message, chats, pings or call every minute and hour, its so bored.

Sexy: Men love their women to be sexy not trashy. This is one of the main thing that attract them to women. Every women have their best part of the body that they like and love most.. so highlight your best physical asset because that your selling point and also learn how to dress like a lady.

Well mannered woman: Nothing embarrasses men the most than that of their wife… go learn some simple ethics. Appreciate you man, encourage him to do more, show him unconditional love and support.

Your Reasoning: The most thing a man can appreciate from the wife is her reasoning, Try as much as possible to contribute ideas..Ask your husband questions and contribute your idea, as your idea may be the upliftment you are looking for.
tot you were talking about gorillas for a second
Car Talk › Re: Nigeria Women Cant Drive! by jpphilips(m): 12:22am On Nov 01, 2013
here: She is built to absorb pressure. That's why when both partners are at a place where their feelings are affected, the "she" is encouraged to drive.
The big question is,what makes a "good driver"?
I have come across good female drivers as also males but I find the female "mean self" quite funny. She acts like the world is out to hunt her and if she can stay longer on the road maybe she can prove she is superior and nothing you can do about it.
The good part is no matter how that is no male has crashed into a female driver to cause her fatal injury, wonder why that is;maybe the male within himself wants to protect her even if he doesnt want to believe it.If you think am wrong, consider the male-male collisions and tell me your statistics.
Men love to look at the other being behind the steering, doesnt matter if its a she;but some assume its lack of concentration.I admire the concentration of the females.
Males generally believe if they do not move their cars someone might come hit them.I do not know how can came about but its born out of "pls leave the road"
Yes many think males are impatient, but in typing there is a theory-females are generally faster but cannot last as long as a male.In that study its never used against a "she",wonder why the patience issue is used against males?
A good driver is one who has the ability to make the best judgment per time behind those wheels.I see wrecked cars and I know the drivers made the best decision.
In ship factories, only women are allowed to be crane operators especially where it affects heavy lifting, guess its for the psychological reason you put up there, however, driving is not just D, R and P, or stepping on gas pedals, it has to do with quick decisions, in a clumsy town like PH
where the roads are so bad and narrow, you need to see where poor driving decision can cause hours of traffic.
I cant say all of them are terrible but when i look at the underside of their bumpers, none has ever impressed me.
it is your defensive driving techniques that keeps your vehicle neat, it is your driving skills that keep ur underside intact, ask any panel beater you know how many women that weld their exhaust, you will be shocked.

I asked a friend of mine why most women on my street use an Suv while their hubbys use smaller cars, he said it is not love, they are just tired of patching the cars, that is a fact.
even most of those women arguing otherwise, majority of them don't use manual gears, i can bet some of them cant even move one yet you can drive.

you need to see the ones that hug their steering wheels while driving (forgetting the steering is equipped with an airbag) or the ones that pull their flat shoes for bare foot, grin

oraclefemi: Not all of them , I raced a woman from Aramoko ekiti till we got to ijebu ijesha and she handled the Toyota Camry 2009 well and didn't let me overtake her all through and I was in a honda ridgeline..she blocked me all through intentionally . She gave me a thumbs up when she got to her destination and I saw little kids inside her car ..I was impressed !
yea! honda ridgeline is not the issue what is your own competence level?

I do free ways a lot of times and i don't even see them let alone compete, if you manage to see one, then she is not going far, mind you,the OP is not talking about how fast a woman can drive, its about the quick driving decisions that needs to be made?
how many of them know the size of their cars? how many of them quickly decipher that both of you cant pass at the same time, that the flash was meant for her to wait? how many of then understand that when their car is low on ground clearance, they need to cross over bumps diagonally, how many? do you see the under bumpers of their vehicles? how many of them know the techniques to minimize screeching?

I used a toyota corolla S for 3yrs with all the PH bad roads, i never lost a single compliment, my woman used it for 2 days and no single complement was left, the most baffling part was that she lost the side complements too, now how did that happen? a 6yrs old driver.
do they even know their lanes and who has the right of way on a particular lane?

My partner's wife drove into the office one day revving her car so loud so i asked her why she was disturbing the whole company? she said because she wound up, she cant hear anything, then i told her that she is driving on a very low gear hence the noise, she said " well, if i heard the noise i would have changed the gear" i was like WTF!! why the heck did Mercedes position a tachometer right in front of you?
mind you she has been driving for how long i cant remember.

women are road hazards.
Car Talk › Re: Nigeria Women Cant Drive! by jpphilips(m): 11:16pm On Oct 31, 2013
runzlord: serously, nigeria women cant drive, they are just to scared, when u see a woman driving note that she is driving with one mind so take minutes before they make a decision on the road. If a woman is in front of you, you would almost cry, they would want to switch lanes, then they change their mind sort off, they become confuse and end of in the middle of the road blocking everybody at her back, and note she does this without traficating, in a nut shell an average nigeria woman drives like a learner or is a learner. Usaully when people drive like that or does not drive well, we at the back would just maintain and conclude it a woman thats driving and when the person finally allow us to pass, truly truly it would be a woman. Ive never be wrong on that. But the case is not like that in orther countries.
I highly sugest women should have their own logo. Like learner is a big "L", women should be hanging a big "W" at the back and front of their car too.
the moment school kids are on break, the road will be so free, once they resume and those steering chested women return, oh my gawd! to join a lane, problem, one will just park by the road side trafficating like they forgot themselves, they don't know when to wait for an on coming vehicle, they don't know what a single flash of light means, they don't know what full beam means, kai, i hate myself during rush hours on PH roads.
once it rains, the roads are free, just the least bad spot, they will get stuck, but will be too lazy to even come out of the vehicle to ask for help or even figure out the way forward, damn!!
i wish Naija was saudi, total nuisance i must say.

She will need to lobby the world bank, IMF, the Presidency and most importantly GOD to get the job. I will be glad if she becomes the first female CBN governor in Nigeria just as we now have the first female CJN heading the judiciary.
what has being a woman got to do with sound economic policies? do you guys even know what matters in life? SE, SW, SS, NE etc have no bearing with economic policies, all the masquerades that served under the mickey mouse vodoo economist sanusi should give us a break.

2ndChance: You're very correct. I am paranoid really and I mentioned that in one one of my posts earlier today but not because she built the house as you are insisting, it is simply because I was not informed. I am not sure you're married cos you're commenting like one frustrated divorcee who is regretting not holding on to the poo his wife was giving him then. And talking of mental competence, there's is hardly anything my wife doesn't seek my opinion on, including issues related to her work, becuase she respects the quality of advice she gets from me which is why I was surprised she could go solo in this case.
In marriages, the best way to go about issues is to place the blame where it rightly belongs. That way, forgiveness becomes easier.
now you know you are paranoid, so eschew your paranoia and go home to your wife, very well, if you say she doesn't see you as mentally incompetent, the only answer is a "scare", that is your mission not whether she built a house or not.
I understand you feel very bad not told about it but when someone acts defensively, you must tackle the threat not the defensive action, survival instinct is real.
Now that she earns higher than you, you should expect changes, it is engrossed in Nigerian women's DNA, live with it.

about my divorcee status, grin I ve left my wife to marry yours at least she has the foresight to build a house with her money, her mates spend their on jewelries, cars, expensive vacations, feeding hungry pastors, competing in her work place and silly social gatherings, with wardrobe full of foreign clothes and shoes, you should be thankful.

Go home, make a noise on why she didn't tell you, carry face for two days and let it go, its not worth this public disgrace.
your wife is better than most of these never do wells that are advising you. At 34, you are very young and you married a wife who can think, whether for herself or the family is inconsequential, most women will build for their never do well father who in turn hands it to her brother and your money will go.

Leave this matter, remember to buy yourself a bottle of chilled Heineken at close of work .

You have been doing something together before,no secrets and without thinking you started a project without informing your husband? I don't know hoe that sound to you,ur husband,ur LIFE PARTNER,someone u want to spend d rest of ur life with? As a matter of fact, such a woman can kill, the issue is nt building a house,d issue is building without infrming your husband, instead involving outsiders.
I don't know how you see it,but it is very bad, what ppl dnt knw is that once u get married, you have signed a life contract...before you know it now she will never involve the husband iin anything again, the Op shld do something fast otherwise his home is heading for the rocks.
the moment my husband (if i am a woman) start hanging out by 2am with bachelors while ogling all the ashawos in lagos that moment he wont even know the school his kids are attending let alone when a house is built.
make no mistakes, something spooked her to make a contingency plan, the OP is economical with the truth and the fact that they have jointly owned assets in the past proves that point.
OP should say what he or his people did to spook his 10yr old marriage. people don't just hide when nothing is freighting them. joining forces with her mum equally suggests that the monster is from inside not external.
what will your daughter tell you as the mum and you suggest she should own assets separately from the hubby? that is where the truth lies
Family › Re: Priest Aids Wife To Build Without Husband's Knowledge by jpphilips(m): 2:41pm On Oct 30, 2013
Pattey: Are you truly dumb or just faking it? OP says they have been holding joint assets; why should the wife now go solo?

OP has acquired properties in both their names but silly upside thinking Nigerians like you think its OK for the woman to now own her stuff in her OWN name alone; and without telling him.

Existing properties are in Mr and Mrs bla bla bla name; If it wasn't for guilty conscience, she would have told him!
as a dumb fellow, i don't judge one sided stories, the OP has not said it all, if a 10yr old wife all of a sudden turns away from what used to be the norm to embrace a militant approach to an issue, my dumb common sense tells me there is something to this the OP is not saying.
something made her feel threatened in the union for her to contemplate going solo. the Op is not saying that.
what if the OP's relative has threatened her in the past?
people don't make contingency plans where no danger lies, the OP should say what the danger is before anything, for now, he should shut up and go home.

men have failed yes, accepted but is that the end of the road? cant both resolve it?
is having secret properties the solution?
personally, i don't see any problem, the OP is simply paranoid, im glad you admitted a lot of men have failed their families, a married man will be outside his matrimonial home by 2:00am drinking beer with bachelors and manchelors, arguing stupid soccer while oogling all the hotties around (not the case with the OP), yet, they have a family at home, are they the kinda husbands their wives do things without consulting them?

God will give you wisdom,i am seeing a redlight o.
There is no sense to make here, it is as simple as it gets, if you marry a Nigerian woman and she becomes financially liberated, your life will never be the same, it is the same when you loose your job as a man, the OP has no complaints, he just doesn't want to accept the dish reality is cooking.
whether its influenced by priest, pastor, judas, mary, her mother is irrelevant, the underlying factor is that she earns higher and the Nigerian woman's prophesy must be fulfilled.

2ndChance: I have seen similar threads on this topic before but never imagined it could happen in my marriage.
My wife and I have been married for about 10 years now and we have been blessed with both male and female children. For the first 7yrs of the marriage, I earned about 8x my wife's salary and everything was sweet and rosy. We were the envy of most families with houses and landed properties both in the village and the city where we live. But about 4yrs ago, my wife got a better job which made her salary slightly higher than mine. But more importantly, the new job gave her access to bulk money by way of loans, grants, etc and ever since, my family has never been the same again. My wife suddenly became unruly, she doesn't consult me on any issue concerning the family again. I have sat her down on countless occasions to know what the problem is but she refused to say what is responsible for her sudden change in attitude. Even when I seek her opinion on projects concerning the family, she shows indifference most times. I then resolved to continue to engage her and be as open as I can hoping that things would improve and indeed I really noticed some slight improvement. But when I was about to settle down and relax, I got the shocker of my life -my wife had built and completed a building without my knowledge! As if that was not shocking enough, I later found out that the man who has been fronting for her on the said project is the same Priest (Reverend Father) that joined us in holy matrimony!!!
I am really confused right now, having mood swings between laughing and angry at the same time. I just don't know how to handle this.
At your age you don't know that a Nigerian woman runs amok as soon has she is financially liberated? if you don't know this ABC of Nigerian women, what exactly do you know? why will it come to you as a shock? you should be expecting it.
you don't need any advise, you just need to grow up and summon the temerity to stand up to the realities of life.

what is the big deal in your wife building a house anyways? oh! she didn't consult you, ah! perhaps you don't have anything to offer, yes! a lot of men have failed in their decision making capacities, what do you expect your wife to do? continue seeking the opinion of a nematode because you are the man of the house, with no economics? lol! you really over rated yourself.
That some individuals bought the distribution companies in various zones does not mean other investors cannot invest in the power sector. That is the main feature of privatization. Granted that so many Nigerians are not innovative, it is practically possible for individuals to build their own power plants, provided they have the capital to do so. This is the point of departure between Monopoly and market driven economy (Privatization).
Tell that to lagos state and rivers state governors
