eggy: parley, you do not need a token to do a third party transfer(DIAMOND TO DIAMOND BANK) methinks the perpetrator of the scam has multiple ATM cards for the numerous acct
in that case, the thief transferred his money to accounts domiciled in the same bank and the bank cant do anythinghuh lol, we re really living in a jungle

deenee: No apologies, but I think the poster is being economical with the truth. It is possible that he may have filled one of those scam online reactivation forms and in the process provided his bank details to a fraudster. Additionally, it is also possible that he may have been a victim of another scam that is made possible, when you use your computer on an unsecured public WiFi network wherein some people can use some software to access your information on your system. One more question, how reliable is the antivirus and anti-maleware software that you use on your laptop.

I am not exoneratiing the bank but I doubt if Diamond will directly steal money from your account. If they want steal they will hide it behind an intricate web of charges and commissions and take it over a long period of time and not in quick successions.

Either way, you have the names of the beneficiaries and the banks why don't you try and conduct an independent investigations

All the best
Read and understand, if it is bigger than your IQ, ask questions, online transfers are secured through the use of Tokens, he said he had his Token while the scammer is withdrawing his money,
now, if you fill an online form and divulge all your details, how did the thief get a Token code that matched his transactionhuh? that is the big questionhuhhuhhuh

Emylexray: This thread is borne by the unending outcry and lamentations from candidates who sat for the just concluded UTME. Ceasless outcry has trailed the aftermath of the release of the 2013 UTME results by JAMB. It is no longer news that the results have been released and Going by the scores i have seen so far on Nairaland and Facebook, a large number of candidates failed woefully. Majority of the scores i've seen ranged from 100-198. This is a bad omen for the future of supposed "future leaders of tomorrow" . What could be the cause of this mass failure? Did JAMB purposely fail candidates to remedy the sale of about 1.7 million JAMB forms for 500,000 available spaces for admission? Was it the sole fault of the candidates? Can this mass failure be attributed to the dwindling educational sector? All these are questions begging for answers. What exactly do you think is rationale behind these shameful results? Over to you!
blame it on DSTV and over feeding or better still blame it on face book and BBM, re you done??
the UTME candidates dont get admitted, the few that managed to be admitted dont get jobs, so why waste the resources and productive years?

send the damn kids to soccer academy in a 15yr career period they have made it better than you the Dad.

dannywest: I know none of those people and my token is here securely with me.

I reported to the bank and it was after I called them they are telling me they are not liable.
Theft was done from inside, most bankers now are thieves, SARS just arrested a UBA staff, a lady at that last week after colluding with Armed robbers to rob a customer she paid 5million, unfortunately, the victim was former head of security for Anambra state who returned with his men to beat the gal up, while the argument was ongoing, the lady's phone rang and the Armed robbers oblivious the phone was on speaker said "baby, the intel na pure, come collect at the usual place"

the branch manager was shocked to death, he was like "usual"?? like you have been doing this for long, that was when i took offense,

how much are these bankers paid monthly, 30k, 50k and you expect her to manage other people's billions without stealing.
worse still the bank expect them to bring in huge deposits and maintain a corporate image,
how much does it cost to maintain a corporate image??

the funniest part was the man was so sure it was the gal, he said she was making calls while paying out the cash, please be watchful, it can be any branch, it can be any bank.

Politics › Re: Nigeria Has No Reason To Be Poor — EU by jpphilips(m):
Rossikk: The EU should ask their member, Britain, what she did with all the monies earned from Nigerian exports from 1897 to 1960. If that money had been used to develop Nigeria rather than embezzled and used to develop England, Nigeria would have been as fully developed as South Africa at independence, and we wouldn't be having this conversation. So let them start with their own thievery. We are poor today because we are playing catch up, struggling to build things that should have been built 100 years ago.
where do you sh!!t these kinda opinion anyways, you are playing catch up u said that is wrong, the infrastructures and administrative system left behind were solid till we mismanaged them.
an eg is this; the railway system, the british connected the major and productive cities in Nigeria with rails, since they left, we have not been able to consolidate them and expanding rather we left them to rot.
you can equally argue that it has trade interest for them, thats correct but what infrastructure flies our trade interest lately?

another fact that will interest you is the earnings of this country since 1960, we have earned more money than any other developing nation till date, our earnings from 1960 till date is enough to put the most populous black nation in the world on the map.

ask yourself; how much did it cost to put dubai on the map? before you argue that dubai is small, how many small dubais do we have in our big Nigeria?

even a blind bat agrees that mismanagement and insincerity of purpose in leadership is the reason Nigeria is still struggling with the basics.

phoneport: The only permanent thing in life is change. But it so unfortunate that some Nigerians, Narialandians are not ready for that change.
The truth is what must be will be, you and I can do nothing about it.
But this one thing we can do let us all work towards positive change.
Let us be ready for the change so that we will not be taken unaware.
This government and some of the previous one have failed us and it seems as if their is no hope, but I tell I have so much hope.
My hope is not on this present Nigeria, but for a better one united or divided.
If we can not stand united?
Then let break and stand.
But there really WAS A COUNTRY my father told me about some time ago, and it wasn't this mirage.
there is no honor in sounding moronic, when you break Nigeria, who takes borno state??
who leads borno state? how will that leadership guarantee the safety of Borno indigenes??

how can a disgruntled group tell you (a country) that they wanna islamize you and you cede a territory for them to Govern? i don't really expect you to be smart but i appeal to your creator to return that which is missing in your skull, better still, replace it with something that doesn't fall below a lizard's IQ.

Bh is not what those folks imagine down south, the soldiers are really a disgrace, this is not the 1st time they take it to the barracks.
what do you think will happen to you if they over power your armyhuh in case you have forgotten, the Army is your last line of defense, if they should fall, then you are finished, if i were you, i should be praying for them and suggesting ways to strengthen them.

that reminds me, the last time militants in Mali overpowered their Army, the president himself ran away, it took international intervention to salvage what is left of that country.

Be wise!!!!

Politics › Re: Nigeria Saves N4.2trn On Manufactured-Goods Importation In 2012 - Aganga by jpphilips(m): 5:13pm On Apr 27, 2013
taharqa: Not only is it that EVERY SINGLE Index of the Economy has been moving in the Right direction in the past 1 0r 2 years, but this here is one other STATS that is Astonishing in the way it Clarifies of the Direction that the Nigerian Economy is now heading, and what is possible if we continued on this path:

- In a SINGLE YEAR, while Exports increased by almost 16%, Import decreased SHARPLY from about N9.8tn to about N5.6tn (ie by 43%, almost half of its value).
Specifically, the value spent on Textile imports fell from about N190bn to N94bn (ie, by a whooping 82%) within the year; the Import value spent on Vegetable Oil also fell from about N1tn to about N577bn (ie by 42%); just as money spent to import Cement feel from #219bn in 2011 to #27bn in 2012(ie,by an unbelievable 88%) .
The most Exhilarating thing about this STATS is that these SHARP decreases in the value of the money spent on Importation isn't due to an actual decrease in the value of these Goods spent within the Economy within the year (ie Nigerians obviously wore more clothes, used more Vegetable Oil, bought more Cement, etc in 2012 than 2011) Nor was it due to a Depressing Economy (the Economy in fact grew by 6.5% within the 1 year period). This could only mean that the Production of most of these Goods IN-COUNTRY increased and that #4.2trn previously spent in importing these Goods (and even more) was spent/remained WITHIN the Economy ie more Nigerian Companies/Investors have apparently succeeded in producing these Goods in larger numbers than was previously the case, creating Jobs and defining its own 'micro-economy' tru its Chain.
It is not Surprising therefore that Nigeria had by far the largest FDI in Africa in 2011.

- We are also seeing a CLEAR change in the Composition/Quality of the Exports. Whilst, the Exports are increasing, the contribution of % of Crude Oil decreased from 94% in 2005 to 69% in 2012 (with a corresponding increase in the Non-Oil Exports). In fact, if Internal sources of Finance like Taxes, Customs Excise etc are included, the Contribution of Crude Oil to National Finance would further reduce to about 43% or so.

Considering other EXTREMELY important Reforms like those in Power, Agriculation (Rice, Cassava/Wheat, Sugar, etc) and efforts to pass d PIB; and not forgeting the ongoing marked improvement in Critical INFRASTRUCTURE (Rails, Inland Waterways, Roads, Airports, Gas pipelines, etc) across the nation, The Nigerian Economy is Certainly undergoing Significant QUALITATIVE changes within our very eyes.FINALLY.
How can any state Government possibly give its populace 24hrs electricity when the electricity matter is being controlled by the F.G?! Last time I heard, Rivers States internally generated power would be sufficient to give the state very good and constant electricity, but since they cant distribute, they have to feedit into the National grid and wait for whatever comes back to them.

So all State governments would either have to buy generators for all their people and fuel it or stop any financial, technical and infrastructural developments pending when the Federal Government starts giving its people 24hrs light.

BRAVO!!
Let me cease this medium to remind you that most communities outside Portharcourt and Environs have steady electricity.
the IPP project of Odili's administration is only 56mw or less, so if you believe that the power generated by the rivers state Govt is sufficient for the whole state is false.

the Towns i mentioned before that have steady electricity is courtesy of the oil companies operating there, example is Omoku, (im glad you said you have lived there, so my info is no news to you) Agip is doing it for them and so many other places like that.

Now, even if Rivers state has generated electricity whose transmission are they going to use? do they equally have independent transmission lines? i heard sometime that it is in the works but with amechi's laxity lately, i cant say how far the project has gone.

let me also remind you that 776mw Afam power plant is a federal govt asset.

here is a list of state IPP's in rivers state but i doubt if any is functional, the last problem Transamadi had was that, odili went and constructed a power plant without an MOU with SPDC who he was hoping will fire the turbine with gas from the IA,

it was later resolved though, so i have no doubt that these other IPP's will be saddled with their various challenges.

1x20MW Eleme Gas Turbine Power Station on the 28th of May, 2001 was rehabilitated.

3x12MW Trans Amadi gas Turbine Power Station on the 3rd of October, 2002

4x25MW Omoku Gas Turbine Power Station on the 5th of December, 2006 (owned by AGIP)

132KV (210km) State Grid Transmission Lines.

Unless you can prove that 20mw + 36mw will be sufficient for the power needs of industrialized rivers state, then i will be forced to agree with you.

but still note that since the transmission lines are not ready yet, the Rivers IPP cannot be utilized only in rivers state.
Also note the year of completion and rehabilitation, what does it tell you about Amaechihuhhuhhuh?
