Fuel subsidy. With recent happenings it is safe to declare that this is a failed nation and its division is in order.

To your tents oh Nigeria
When a country is facing problems like "recent happenings" you divide it and that will solve the problems and the people will be happy. Good reasoning.

Very big shame on us honestly.

This is the ridicule successive governments have brought us under. But Jonathan's government wore our pathetic situation its Royal Crown. Imaging what truckload of mess he's living behind, and to make matters worse, he carries on like he's tone deaf and blind. And that is the man Nigerians call a Hero and deserves a Nobel Prize!!

Indeed we deserve all the jeers and scorn from these guys. I can hardly blame them.
I tell you. It just makes one sad. Sad.

If only we can get a fair & proper investigation of this.
1. There could actually be some money involved here,
2. Some guys could actually be out to rubbish the person of the Governor and/or the REC etc.
Let the REC be secured while full investigation commences immediately.
Okojie is extremely corrupt and Akpabio can give more than that. Investigation? Forget it, there will be none.

looking at deliverables, he was slightly above average when one considers the volume of foreign direct investment (FDI) brought to the country in the midst of the insecurity in the country.
I meant to say "no noise" - was typing in a hurry. I agree with you but you have to look at fundamentals too - an area Adeshina completely failed at. Aganga single-handedly saved Ecowas from sleep-walking into the ruinous EPA. He did more for cashew export than all governments since independence put together. There were basic things you previously had to go do in Ghana which now get done in Nigeria. The man is a workaholic still holding meetings and commissioning things all over the place till today.

No doubt about it. Aganga simply work and delivered - noise. Nigerians like razzmatazz, that is why Adeshina's noise always got him noticed.

As we countdown to May 29, 2015, when the Goodluck Jonathan administration will vacate the seat of power, it is not all gloomy as there are outstanding men and women in the administration that used the instruments of their office to better the life of the common man on the street.

Naij.com has compiled 5 of these outstanding individuals that Nigerians won’t forget in a hurry.
Read below:

1. Professor Chinedu Nebo: The former Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka has indeed been outstanding. The Minister of Power have overseen a tedious privatisation process of the power sector devoid of rancour as was the case in the past. He has also been consistent with his regular briefing of the media and Nigerians in order to keep everyone up-to-date on the progress in the sector. Though not much have been achieved yet, Nigerians will no doubt start to see the manifestation of his handiwork in the nearest future, provided the incoming Buhari administration continues from where he stopped and make corrections where he made mistakes.

2. Dr. Omobola Johnson: It is not really a surprise that she has performed well. Not your typical politician, Johnson left her position as the Country Manager of Accenture to take assume the role of Nigeria’s Minister of Communications. Her sterling performance and revolutionary policies are visible for all to see. She has also focused heavily on empowering young girls in Information Communication Technology and it has paid off immensely.

3. Ambassador Aminu Wali: The Kano-born former Nigerian Ambassador to China has brought to bear his diplomatic experience at the foreign ministry. A perfect gentleman, his robust foreign policies have seen Nigeria, for the first time, stand up to ungrateful countries like South-Africa, United Arab Emirates and some Asian countries. Wali has done a good job in standing for the rights of Nigerians abroad although much still needs to be done in this direction. But he has started on a right note, and it is expected that whoever fills his big shoes in the Buhari administration, will continue from where he stopped.

4. Osita Chidoka: Chidoka’s short stint in the Ministry of Aviation has proven that saying that says “It is not how far, but how well”. The former head of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) hit the ground running immediately he assumed office. In an industry that has been under consistent crisis, Chidoka became a rallying point for all the stakeholders in the industry mostly because of the professional way he handled issues pertaining the industry. He has worked tirelessly to improve on the safety standards of the industry and has carried on working despite Jonathan’s loss at the polls. Nigeria definitely need men like Chidoka in public service.

5. Dr. Akinwunmi Adeshina: This list would not be complete without the name of Dr. Adeshina. It is not for nothing that he is currently one of the leading contenders for the role of the president of Africa Development Bank (ADB). Adeshina’s revolutionary achievements in the agricultural sector has opened up opportunities in the sector that was hitherto comatose and begging for attention. From the availability of fertilizers to the ordinary farmers, to the loans available to them and the investment flowing into the sector, Akinwunmi is no doubt the most outstanding Minister under Jonathan and he should be proud of himself. One can only wish him luck in his aspiration to lead the ADB.

This makes no sense. Aganga, the only good minister Jonathan had isn't there. Only Nebo for selling distribution to distribute non-existent power so he can continue pumping public funds into them, and Wali, the most clueless persdon to occupy that ministry. Of course, Adeshina would be there. He was good at noisemaking with nothing to show for it.

Politics › Re: Who Would You Suggest To Be The EFCC Boss Under Buhari? See My Suggestion by JuanDeDios: 11:26am On May 20, 2015
tuncy:
Its no news that the APC has campaign its self as an anti-corruption party. Since this is a democratic setting, the need to empower and make independent EFCC and ICPC. I believe we also know that how effective any organisation is can be traced to the head.

For me, I will suggest

Professor Attahiru Muhammadu Jega.

The outgoing INEC boss. From the level of calmness and discipline that he displayed, I think he will make a good EFCC or ICPC Boss.

What's your opinion?
How do Nigerians think sef?

Jega for EFCC is a bad suggestion. He simply can't handle that sort of thing and they will run rings around him. He will stick to due process, accept logical explanations and evil-minded people will thrive. You need someone who understands gutter ways and can break a few bones and crack a few skull when he has to. You don't send a lamb in amidst wolves. Ribadu had some success in that job because of his police background.

i guana is the zoological name, monitor lizard is a nigerian parlance for iguana
Iguana isn't a zoological name. It's a native name in the New World. Monitor lizard isn't a Nigerian parlance. It's the recognised English way of referring to a variety of giant lizards found in Africa and Asia.
Food › Re: Is This Animal Edible, Just Killed It In My Lodge by JuanDeDios: 10:47pm On May 19, 2015
SeverusSnape:
No, It's not a monitor lizard.
There's quite a variety that comes under the name monitor lizard. You'd need the biological names to seperate them. Iguana isn't African and haven't been introduced here. Anybody calls anything an iguana here just misnamed it.

There are better hands
There definitely are, but you'd have to find them. The majority of Nigerians who are that good you either find in foreign universities or in the private sector. Even if you'd like to help out in the public service you'd need a godfather to recommend you. The plain fact is that we only get good public servants once in a while. Can you bet money that the incoming government will find someone just as capable to run that ministry? I bet not.

And so what , He Born as a JW, indoctrinated as a kid .... Is dat a point? Thats not a point at all , go into the world and see how those who call themselves christians and muslims alike indoctrinate their child . ALL PARENTS CARRY THEIR CHILDS WITH THEM TO CHURCH AND MOSQUES . Mayb thats what u call indoctrination. Nope , the parents are only doing their own jobs to train u .

BUT a person should decide for him/herself where he or she is going. NO MATTER THE OUTCOME . U DONT JUST GO TO THE UNIVERSITY to study a course because ur parents want u to study it , thats bad ! U must decide for urself.

Its very clear at the bold , that the problem of this so called franz is that he is participatin in a religion because most of his family are in the system , and it backfires at him .... Thats a mistake for an adult. No wonder he has crises in his conscience .
I actually laughed out loud while reading your post. You don't get it - that's not a problem. It appears you can't get it - that's a problem.

Either you are dumb or you don't get it. Lemme assume it's the latter. Some people were born Witnesses and spent all their lives there. Franz joined as a kid and was there till his 50's or 60's. Bethel work ensured he did not have kids. You are discouraged from "associating" with "worldlings" since you are "no part of the world as Jesus said". So you grow up having your entire family and and all your close friends within the system. I know one who said he actually had bad relationship with some of his non-JW relatives for having refused to attend their naming ceremonies and the like. (Some took it personal) Then one day, it's all gone - friends, kids, family, all. Because you confided in someone about a church teaching you thought was out of place and got hauled into the backroom and the backroom minders felt the church had to be saved from you.
