it's not like he won't do well at EFCC but the fact that he's doing well currently in INEC is the reason why he should remain.

Someone like Wole Soyinka will make sense as an EFCC head.
He's good at INEC. He WON'T do well at EFCC. You need someone who understands dirty dirty ways to head EFCC. Ribadu was effective because of his police background - he knew how to crack skulls when necessary. He even blackmailed people when it suited him. If you steal money and you give Jega a logical explanation he would accept it the way he accepted Rivers where no serious elections held. People like Jega don't know the extent of the badness of people.

This makes so much sense. However, i think he should remain in INEC until he decides to call it quits personally. I don't see how changing a working system will solve anything. He has experienced the worst possible scenario as an INEC chairman and in the future, i don't think any machination will move him. I say he remains INEC head. There are other men of integrity like him in Nigeria that can head EFCC.
I agree with this. Someone like him won't do well at EFCC.

Bad idea. He's too civil and will accept logical explanations. Look at the way he accepted Rivers. You need someone who understands gutter ways and can crack a few skulls when necessary to head the EFCC.

The plan of PDP and Nigerian Military is to deny Buhari the 25% of the vote from every states in the South-east and South-south.

I won't be surprised if Buhari gets around 15% of the vote in Imo State. INEC has a lot of trouble in its hand with what is going on in Southeast. This is blatant robbery going on there.

i stopped reading after the paragraph that said the parents found out their daughter was kidnapped weeks after she left for school. And this was because the school called to telll them she'd been absent from school.

Shows how caring both parents were. I mean first of all the father put her in a vehicle all by herself from Ajah all the way to Ikenne. The least he coulda done was call a teacher or guardian in school to find out if she arrived.

He never gave our "wonderful" nigerian police a chance to find her because the kidnappers had a very good head Start.
I was shocked when I read that part.

Our society frown so much at single mothers. People see them as irresponsible girl(s) that "God decided to expose". You introduce your child, the next question is "so you are married", or "thought you are single". You confirm that you are single, the next respond is "oh" or they make one funny face.
But in truth, our only crime was to say NO to ABORTION.
No, you have it mixed up. Your "crime" was failing to do what's required to avoid an unplanned pregnancy. Just saying - I have nothing against sex, pre- or post-marital. Or pregnancy.

I can lecture you about nature, but I'm not interested and won't respond to you after this. Take your pettiness and quibbling elsewhere.

The Darker Side of Toothpicks

The story is always the same.

After a meal of some kind, usually involving chicken or pulled pork or stringy vegetables — whether in your home or out at a restaurant, you feel the need to pick up a toothpick and begin your work. Flicking and picking and pulling and bending and jamming and grabbing and scratching and scraping.

The sucking sounds and the visuals are bad enough — but not not worse than the thought that enters my head… That you are picking food that you ate over the last hour, out of your teeth, then consuming the tiny pieces you find (like a treasure hunter) in a dance that some have called (yes, I know this is so insane of them to say) “unsanitary.”

From the sanitary standpoint, toothpicks have got to be the worst idea on the face of the Earth. While it may be a shade better than jamming your fingers in your mouth and trying to suck pieces of corn out of your teeth — the fact that you’re using a tool to dislodge food particles which you will most often swallow after finding them, has got to be the most disgusting activity on the face of the Earth.

But even more disgusting than the fact that people participate in an activity such as this millions of times over the course of a day in the World, is the fact that a company called Swiss Army has seen fit to create a plastic toothpick accessory in their Swiss Army knives. An accessory that encourages the user to pick wet chewed food out of their teeth, suck the remaining crumbs off the tip, then place the plastic pick back into a metallic womb so the remaining food particles can fester and grow in preparation for its next use!

Really, it’s quite exciting.

But even worse than the toothpick food picking non-sanitary dance of your gums, is the fact that there are people who do not use toothpicks for food hunting, but instead have decided that walking around with a toothpick hanging from their mouth provides them with some image that they want to present to the world.

Hi. My name is Ed. And I like toothpicks.

When you see someone with a toothpick hanging from their mouth and they’re not using it for picking food out but simply allowing it to hang from their lips — what do you think about this person? Do you immediately wonder if they know how to drive a tractor? Do you suddenly think that they must have spent some time learning how to be a taxadermist? Do you suppose that they know how to ride a horse? Is it possible that they are re-building the engine of a 1959 Mustang in their garage? Or maybe they’re just big fans of 1950’s movies where people surfed and stayed out past their curfew?

With the two image options available to the toothpick user (unsanitary foodpicker or wannabe rebel/car restorer/horserider) — I can confidently say that there is a darker side to toothpicks, and it’s not one that I choose to be a part of.

Toothpicks? P-shaw!

I say nay.

so because constrictors are nonvenomous they shouldn't be feared?
have you ever heard of a venomous snake eating a child? or a young adult?
Not sure what you're on about. Please show me where I said non-venomous snakes shouldn't be "feared" - whatever you mean by that.

In case you need the education, royal pythons are pretty harmless to humans. Rock pythons, on the other hand, are giant reptiles that can do harm to humans.

The rock python is the largest snake found in Nigeria. Both the rock python and its smaller cousin the royal python are non-venomous.

Ah!
My all time favourite snake!

Very amazing behaviour.
When asleep, you can safely lift it up, put it in a basket and take it home
...provided you don't touch its head or wake it up.
(I've actually seen this happen here in my swampy rain forest).

When awake it is even less aggressive until it feels threatened.

But contrary to what you said, it is deadly. Its mode of attack is to inject multiple venoms and a long bite.
I won't advise anyone to touch a puff adder - it may not bite so readily but you can't guarantee it won't. The snake you play and mess around with is the royal python.

Not sure I agree. PAa are very very deadly - at least the particular species I know. My sister's friend lost her son to a puff adder - he died the same day.

Their meat tastes very nice though. smiley

Oga here has said the bitter truth. Learn the very hard way. Forget dreamweaver and embrace text editors like sublime text or notepad or notepad++. Learn to write your own codes, forget CMS like joomla and WordPress for now. When u can write your codes, you can now start thinking of CMS software. I started coding with notepad, later moved to dreamweaver and am finally switching back to sublime text. There's joy in seeing your hand written codes come alive. As a beginner, dont even touch templates only use them as inspiration for ur own designs.
But that must take a loooooot of time, doesn't it?

Those saying she should go ahead and marry him are NOT giving sound advice. Se.x IS important in marriage. Even with someone you're sexually compatible with sex is boring in marriage which often leads to infidelity, now let alone with someone you have a problem with from the start.

But I cannot advise you to give up him either since I don't know the nature of the problem you have with him - whether it is something that can be fixed or not. Do you care to share? It also depends on how important sex is to you since these things vary with individuals.

Big deal. Leave the man be.

I have a friend who's house I nicknamed 'nudist colony'. Everyone goes around the butt nekkid, mum and dad included. Well, the mum tries to cover up most times but the dad and the kids go around butt nekkid especially when the weather is hot.

I only got to know about this when I noticed that each time i visited, they always made me wait at the door for close to ten minutes. When I pressed my friend, she admitted that the reasons for the delay was that everybody was running helter skelter to find pieces of clothing to cover up. cheesy cheesy

Leave Popsie be. He's living on the edge and giving vent to his wild side wink wink cheesy

Besides it his house. If you can't bear it pack out!!
Of course, nudism is a way of life. Thing is, Nigerians bare their fangs at anything they don't understand.

Op, I mean no disrespect to your dad, but it beats my imagination to think that a mature man would feel comfortable walking around the house unclad in the presence of his children.

Op, I think its best if you go talk to him directly. I think if you explain to him how irritated you are by his ugly habit, alongside the psychological effect its having on your little sister, he would be able to see some sense in your advice and make amendments especially when its coming from his own child.

This habit of his is by no means healthy in any way both for him and for his children.
Some male parents don't even take of their shirts in front of their children not to talk of being fully unclad.

Op, you can also talk to your mum about it, but I think its better you talk to him directly but in a mature and respectful way.

Thanks
Being naked is neither ugly nor unhealthy - you Nigerians are too judgemental and like to impose your views on others.. Everybody was born naked. The man is a nudist - nothing wrong with that. I myself like to go clothless when alone at home. Of course, it's out of order to practise nudism in the presence of people who aren't comfortable with it. My advice to op and hIs siblings is to always knock before entering his room and if he's fond of inviting them in when nude to talk it out with him.
