racial classification shouldn't be soley determined by skin color. obama could be culturally black but he obviously has mixed ancestry

I'd say he's definitely Kenyan. . . but only to the extent that his dad is from there and he has family there. I doubt if he knows anything about the real Kenyan way of life which may be diametrically opposed to the American way of life.

I dont have a problem with Obama being black. I have a problem with people who want to conform to white standards of segregating mixed race people and trying to ignore or wish away their white background.

Tell exactly why Obama is not white and I'll use the same logic to tell you why he's not Black. My point is that he is both black and white.

I am happy that a man of African descent will occupy the white house! But that does not remove the fact that he also has white blood in him

Mixed race children tend not to refer to themselves as white because white people reject them and dont want to 'stain their pure blood'.
The fact that a mixed race child/person refers to himself/herself as black does not preclude the fact that he/she is 50% black in reality

Skin color is more than just pigmentation. There are cultural and sociological issues involved. If one parent is black while the other is white, then the child is connected to two cultures- the white one and the non-white one. Both genetically and apparently.

Even white + asian doesnt equal white, so why are the blacks trying to jump the queue?

Jerry Rawlings isnt white. He doesnt call himself white and he fully embraces his heritage. Thats more realistic than trying to force yourself on whites who don't want to accept you.


In Brazil, lighter skin color is supposed to make you white. Still not working for the majority of blacks.
