Biyi1471: Justwise, nice to have you here. Well, they won't practically be staying together. She goes to Boston while the guy is already in NJ. But somehow, they will work things out over the papers. Time is the factor here. Can I wait? Well, time will tell and I sincerely hope I can wait. She will be coming back home once in a while or we meet in UK when i travel. Anyways, God will take control. Can afford cost? Financially? Yeah sir. My main concern is if this can really work. I hope so. Justwise, you are appreciated.... wink
To be brutally honest with you. . i wouldn't do what you did if i'm in a loving marriage/rela/ship. You got a good job, travelled and in a good financial standing, there shouldn't be any hurry to gamble with ur happiness. Going to US to live does not equate to happiness and success.

Its a massive gamble, i wouldn't wish you good luck neither will i wish you bad luck, just see how it goes, but seriously you got some balls. . . grin

Biyi1471: Please good people in house to help me advice. A distant relative won the dv 2012 visa lottery. He played as single. on winning i asked him to use my lady as his wife and this worked out as both were issued d lottery visa. My question is how do i go about the whole thing to join my woman in d states as her fiance? She really wants to be equipped with enough information before traveling in d case of going with any documents that will increase my chance of join her. She also wants to get pregnant with my child before traveling. Would this work? I seek your matured and timely advises.... Thank you all... wink
Wow!! i mean wow!!, how much do you love and trust your wife and the relative? I mean. . how do you expect your wife to travel and live with your relative in a strange land for at least 2yrs without things getting awkward?

People telling you to get a good lawyer and divorce him and file for you did not tell you the whole truth.

If she managed to divorce him, she has to come back to Nigeria, get 'married' to you then apply for spouse visa for you then wait, all these will take nothing less than 4yrs, will this marriage survive this expensive gamble? Can you afford the cost?

Rossikk: OH PLEASE SHUT UP YOUR SLAVE MOUTH AND LET US HEAR. What stops Africa's problem from being BOTH corrupt politicians AS WELL AS corrupt western powers? You've never heard of neo-colonialism? Or you think because they live outside Africa they have no influence on what goes on in the continent? Ignoramus! It is people like you who allow multinationals like Shell to come in here and get away with blue murder, even as you turn your face to their crimes and go looking for solely black faces to attack. It is people like you who smile like he goats as the west ships in poison in the name of genetically modified crops and dodgy vaccines, to kill off your people. Go on and keep smiling and trusting without investigating them. Mumu.
You are a disgrace to yourself, a glorified animal, you can go on and rant like an idiot, the west did all that and what did you thieving politicians did? Yes steal resources with impunity and banked in the west, run down their own economy while brain fish like you are busy shifting blames. Keep doing that, it will solve our problems. Nonsense!!.

lankywizar: Hello People,
My brother intends to go visit his wife studying in the UK this summer, We are really confused on the application for to use. Some have advised that we use Vaf1b-Family visit but I'm of the opinion that vaf1a-General visitor should be used since his wife isnt a UK permanent residence and also he will be staying at a hotel since she resides in the school hostel. Kindly advice.

Regards
Use family visit form.

Eawealth: Thank you. The host doesn't ve a problem with documents as she even mentioned them in the IV. To be frank here, my friend don't have business registration certificate, tax clearance certificate and business account. His kind of business doesn't demand for it. He is a hustler. He set up a small shop with cd renting, phone repairing, browsing e.t.c. Please how can he get those documents from a reliable and cheap agent? How much will these documents cost together? Abeg reply
You are asking the wrong person, i don't support dodgy activity like that and your friend will be walking towards 10yrs ban if he submits forged documents, no agent will give you original tax clearance, business registration certificate or business account. He will be wasting his money and time.

bluecole2: Emotional, sad for the poor families. Regardless of what the offences might be, people deserve to have a fair trial, be it in Nigeria, China or elsewhere around the world.

It's a shame some of the members of this forum don't understand what's is like to be in trouble thousands of miles away from home. Being in a better jail doesn't change anything, knowing you don't have a voice.

Human right of every nationality has to be up-helpd and that includes getting a fair trial. And it's the least our government should do for it's citizens. If we keep pointing fingers, especially in the wrong direction, our government will continue to be inconpetent and we the citizen will be the one to suffer the consequences of their inaction to fight for the rights of it's citizens.

Think brothers and sister, don't be in a rush to judge. Try to see things from a different view.
I feel sorry for the families left behind, lied to and still in the dark about what their loved ones did.

I don't feel sorry for any drug pusher/dealer, they want to make quick money and go back to Nigeria to intimidate those working hard decently with their dirty money. Well-done Chinese Govt.!
I can't believe that some people are still soo daft & gullible that they still believe all the lies the west cooked up against Gaddafi. Are you so insane? Evidences came up last week that Gaddafi was a big part of Sarkozy's last presidential campaign contributing about $60/600 million...yet that time this fool called Sarkozy did not call Gaddafi "evil." As soon as Gaddafi started coming up with policies & ideas on how the whole African continent could use its resources to crush the economies of European countries that have long been engaging in neo-colonialism, the three musketeers namely, Nicolas Sarkozy, David Cameron & Barak Obama (that fool that the u.s. & Europe is using smartly against Africans & Black people in general because they know we Blacks & Africans would think since he's one of us, he'd have our best interest at heart) then pounced on Gaddafi, cooking all sorts of propaganda & eventually killing him. Sarkozy is a sly devil & I hope the remaining 2 devils Obama & Cameron fall out too. I don't care who takes over after them, for now the enemy of my enemy is my best friend.
You are really deluded, wake up and stop ranting dust.

kunlewoye: Thx Justwise fro the response. The thing is I already supplied these schools with the info on the passport. Wld it not be a problem applying for the visa with a different passport? The mistake on the waec cert has to do with my year of birth, not the name. It reads 1985 instead of 1986.
Since you have sent the passport info to the school then use it because you still have more than 6months left on it, when you get to the UK you can apply for renewer at Nigerian embassy in London.

For the WAEC issue . . . .its the same thing. . whether yr or name mistake, since all other documents have the correct date of birth then get the letter from WAEC and write a note to ECO pointing the mistake out.

kunlewoye: @Justwise, u must know say I don dey find u about o. Gr8 job u'r doing; keep it up

I applied to some UK schools and have been give Conditional offer letters to study Petroleum and Gas Engineering(MSc) at Salford Uni, Subsea Engineering at Strathclyde and Cranfield Unis (Most other Unis in the UK don't take 2:2 for related courses).

The issues I need advice on are these:
-My passport expires next january and I need to apply for a Tier4 visa now. Can I use the passport even though it expires soon or should I go for another passport?

- The year of birth on my WAEC certificate is 1985 instead of 1986, everything else is correct. I had been using my statement of result since 2001 and just went to my school in Osun state from Abuja for my cert last week when I got to know this. I was at the WAEC office here in Abuja two days after ago I got back but I was verbally referred to the Ibadan zonal office (I was told my school was grouped under that zone). I read on some other threads on here that it takes a minimum of 3months and max of 6months to have another one issued by WAEC.
I surfed the Internet and got the supposed phone numbers of the Ibadan office but realized they were now defunct, so I set out to go there. I was at the Ibadan zonal office yesterday morning only to not be allowed in because nobody would see me until May 21- SSCE exam was going on and all the officials were now busy at the various exam centers! I was not even allowed in (TWATS, THE LOT OF THEM)!!

The problem is I want to make sure all the things presented to the school for admission would be the exact same things presented to the UK embassy officials. To receive my UNconditional offer letter, the WAEC result should be one of the documents to present (to show I have C6 or above in English Language).
PLEASE WAITING FOR WAEC TO ISSUE ANOTHER RESULT IS NO MORE AN OPTION(EXCEPT IT'S POSSIBLE TO HAVE ANOTHER ISSUE IN A MONTH'S TIME MAXIMUM)
WOULD AN AFFIDAVIT ALONE ADDRESS THIS ISSUE OR MUST I HAVE ANOTHER LETTER FROM WAEC TO ACKNOWLEDGE THEY KNOW ABOUT THE ISSUE AND ARE WORKING TO RESOLVE IT?
HAS ANYONE HERE EVER APPLIED FOR A UK VISA USING A QUESTIONABLE WAEC CERT BACKED UP WITH AN AFFIDAVIT/LETTER FROM WAEC OFFICE AND GOTTEN THE VISA?

WHAT SHOULD I DO? WHAT WOULD STAND ME IN GOOD STEAD??
Its better you get a new passport before sending in your visa application.

Unfortunately people who had the same WAEC problem here did not come back to tell us how they resolve it but since every other document has the correct name, get a letter from WAEC stating that they made a mistake and attach the letter to your visa application.

You must also point out the mistake to the ECO before he does, just a comment in your visa application form pointing out that WAEC spelt your name wrongly and that you have attached a letter from them acknowledging that.
