nwabobo: @Justwise, Just a quick one, my girlfriend has 2 passports an old one which expired in 2007 and the current ECOWAS passport. On the old one,her middle name is written as Adaora while on the new one she wrote Ada which is d shortened form for Adaora. On the form, she's asked if she's owned any other passport before and she is also asked to include previous passports in the application and also fill in d details on d form. What do you advice? Should she claim not to have had any passport b4 or fill in the details ie passport number and when it expired and then claim to have misplaced the passport or go ahead and include d passport.

NB: She didn't use d passport for any applications or travel prior to it's expiration.
Using different names in two different passports is a bad idea, whether shorten names or full, names should be the same in all her documents.

Because of the name issue and for the fact that the passport has never been used, let her maintain the current passport with the correct name and forget about using the old one as any form of identity else it will come back to bite her in the future.

franknero488: On the visa tourist form 8.4, it asks " what will you do in uk"?
and on the guide it says if you have a planned itinerary please submit a copy.
Now do I leave that place blank and send a copy with my application? Or do I fill " planned itinerary copy submitted" or do I fill my itinerary in the form (space issues though) and then still submit a copy?
Make a note on that space provided saying. . .planned itinerary attached with the form.

Guapo: Hi Justwise,
I must say u are doing a great job here. Well done! Please I would like to make an inquiry in behalf of my brother. We currently have the required deposit in his account for 28 days which will elapse on May 23, and the start date for his course is August 6. CAS would have been issued by first week of June.

Having all these in mind, how early can he make the trip to the U.K? Is it possible for him to arrive much earlier before his course start date? If so, how early are we looking at?

We want him to settle well enough before any serious school work commence.
Thanks
Sure he can arrive upto a month in advance if his course is longer than 6months

Has your situation changed since the last refusal? Are you married now, have properties, financially stronger? Got promoted?

diddy11: Hello house. I seek the help of all those knowledgeable in this area for their advice: I applied for a visitors visa to the uk last year. I submitted all relevant documents such as: my payslip of about 115, ooo, letter of introduction from my employer, letter of appointment, my staff id card ,evidence of current payment to my professional body, nepa bill, evidence of hotel reservation and bank statement of about 1.2 million. However, I was refused on the following grounds: You state that you are an administrative officer and earn 115,ooo per month. I must take into account your personal and economic circumstance in Nigeria when coming to my decision. You have submitted no evidence of assets, savings or property in Nigeria. You have submitted no evidence of strong or financial ties in Nigeria. There4, I am not satisfied that you are seeking a genuine visit or that you intend to leave the UK at the end of your visit. 41(i) and (ii) . You have stated that in your visa application form that you will be financing yourself in the UK at a cost of 1500pounds. This is equivalent to 3months salary. You state you know no one in the UK. I am not satified that this amount is genuiely available for your trip or that you intend to spend this amount on a 6 day holiday. There4, I am not satified that you will be genuiely maintained in the UK or that yoy are able to meet the cost of the onward journey. 41(vi) and (vii). I have there4 refused your application because I am not satisfied on the balance of probabilities that you meet all of the requirements of the releveant Parargraph of the UK immigration Rules. Your right of appeal is limited to the grounds referred to in section 84(1)(c) of the nationality immigration and asylum act 2002 (www.legislation.gov.uk). I must say that after going through the ECO decision I was dumbfounded as I felt he was biased in coming to his conclusion, furthermore, I felt a bank statement of 1.2 million was evidence that I could support my trip to the uk, I have no intention to appeal, instead, I want to re-apply, what can I do right this time around? House I am at your mercy.
In that letter of appointment did it state how long you have being with the company? If yes. . how long was that?

Gagaotatravels: Ok as the moderator decided to be the boss in here . He said no contacts e.t.c . My Conscience won't let me rest if I don't tell you what to do. Now, I don't know what and what document you've submitted,

2. That reason for refusal might still be one of the reasons for refusal ,trust me the embassy won't mention all your flaws at a time. They want you to keep coming back.

3. I don't know how you filled your form if there's a sort of despiration in it.

4. When did you apply for the Visa ? If not too long then you bank account needs to have at least £10,000 in it for good 28days and make sure it's not just a lump sum at once it must be running but it must have the £10,000 balance after all the transactions .

I don't know why the moderator won't let me talk to you. Look the embassy might have other hidden flaws on your application. And trust me you don't want your passport to have too many application recieved and besides , it's not good for your immigration History . irest my case .With this at least you should have a clue of what's going on.

Gideon or if you like my Yoruba name Toluleke. Will see how I can help .
Please don't mislead the poor guy, there is no hidden reason for the refusal, and he does not need to have £10,000 in his account.

Why are you so keen in talking to the poster privately?

You were refused a visa for a simple reason which is not having a complete maintenance money and nothing else. Unfortunately for you, the maintenance fees has gone up, insteady of £7200, its now £9000. Get that money and keep it in your account or your parents account for 28days then re-apply.

Gagaotatravels: Hi saintkola in that case you still have a chance of re applying. Were you given an appeal chance? If not you need to make a fresh application. If you can call me I will explain the whole process to you easily. So don't stress and make sure you don't apply now because, immigration matters are very sensitive Matters. For example I made an application for one of my clients in UK to the home office in London last month ,believe me because of passport they returned the guy's application to be invalid. I know they wanted to renew his stay because, I have used the same method for all my clients. But, the size of his Passport was wrong. So immigration matters needs serious care so that you don't look despirate. If you can call me ,then I will explain to you, am still in Nigeria till next month.
Explain it to him here

Yes you can use your parents account and get another CAS from your school. Inside London maintenance money is now £9000 and not £7200 any more.

yema00x7: Good afternoon,Well i want to report a guy to everyone here who have been scamming people all around.sometimes around september last year,This guy started calling me ,He says can i help him in processing portugal visa,i said no problem,After 2 weeks he called me again and said am i ready for the job,I told him no problem. After some weeks he started disturbing me with messages saying he can help my client with Japan ,south korea, estonia, south cyprus,Brazil,Argentina,Mexico ,columbia and canada Visa.I was surprised when i got the message because what he told me the first time he called was that he want me to help him with portugal Visa.i did not reply to his message, the next day he called and explain to me...I said but you told me you need a portugal visa why are you telling me all this,He said hes a travel agent but he doesnt like dealing with clients that he likes dealing with travel agents...To cut the long story short,he keeps disturbing with another message that he has a sure link of canada,That is just a processing of 2 weeks...he sent me one fake canada job that he claims he is among the ones they submitted.I was convince,so when some guys came to my office i explained to them about the canada job,They were interested but they told me they not going to drop a dime until the job comes out.I called Felix and explained to him,He said no no no ,we need a deposit of 100k for each.I said well am sorry we cant do business together because my clients are not ready to drop any money.after some days again ,he start sending me text messages again that this is a sure job that he is dealing with the white man directly ,that if he helps me get this canada work permit it will boost my business the more...I said my brother it cant work ,my clients are not ready to drop any money..But he never stops Flashing and texting me. so explained to my clients ,they insist...To make the Job done, out of my pocket i sent #160,000K to this guy to his Gtb account:
Account Name,Felix Azubike.
Account Number,0025625519
Phone number,08032706277

I ran to the airport that day because he said if he did not receive the passports that day theres nothing he can do as the white man needs to travel to canada so i ran to the airport and i sent those passport with #6000,i called him that i have sent the money and passports ,I started counting after 2 weeks i called him Felix how far?He sayd emm emm theres a delay i should give him another two weeks ,That night that i called him he text me another message that he has a south cyprus link ,no deposit ,japan no deposit,i got like 4 guys who are interested but my mind tells me not to send it as i know if he has those passport he will still ask for money....In conclusion, this scammer felix Azubike ,who is married and have two kids ,played on me for almost 6 months ,i threathen him ,i reported the case to the police but because of the distance because he stayed in Abuja...he finally sent those passport back last week, when he sent it he did not even tell me anything ,it was the bus driver that called me that i have a package from Akure ,i said wrong number ,later the next day my mind tells me to call him ,so i called him with a different number as he no longer pick my calls again since feb so when i called him with another number he picked it and i asked abt my passport ,he said he has sent it ,i said WHAT?you sent passports without letting me know, what abt the money i sent ,he said hes busy that i should call him later.I called him today again with another glo number,he said he also spent money that theres nothing he can do.Now am blaming myself because 1,I dont even know him ,weve never met before,2,Since we have been talking he never call me for once ,all he does is to flash me or text me...i should have known that he is a scammer. Please nairalanders,be careful and dont fall victim like me...he might use another number to call you or change his account but be careful...You should all learn from my mistake.Thank you!
grin grin grin grin grin story indeed, you ran to airport to give him those passports so that the 'whiteman' will take it to Canada and stamp the work permit on it? Even as you said the Canadian job was fake? He said the deposit is N100K each but you paid him N760.000? Congratulations!!!!

The key personnel behind the programme have taken steps to clear the air about the programme, first of which is a statement by the prof, published only two days ago - http://www.scholarsponsor.org/index.php/2012/04/24/professor-amoda-speaks-the-scholars-sponsor-programme-is-no-scam/

Please take the time to read. His response actually explains why the Universities responded that way. But in addition to this, they're working on something which I'm not sure I'm at liberty to disclose now until it goes public, at which point, I'll update you/this thread (it relates directly with these Universities).
I'm sorry there is nothing in that article that convinced me that this is not scam, this is an elaborate scam, the writer made it clear that the scholarship will be financed through the sale of forms and money raised through private companies and not everybody that paid N35000 will be given the scholarship.

This brings me back to my initial suspicion. .they set out to sell as many form as possible then smile to the bank.

I'm still maintaining my ground, why did University of Exeter denied knowing that this scholarship even as they are listed as one of the sponsors?

I am not giving them any false information. so should they bother about why I am applying independently and not on my husband's dependent? or they are only concerned about me that this candidate has provided every necessary documents so we shall grant her the Student Visa. Your application will be judged first by documents you submitted, there is nothing wrong with husband and wife studying in the same country.

That said. Whoever wants to travel to the UK with visiting visa and apply for job should go ahead and learn from the experience.

gladostix: @ohkingdavid,
if you apply for a job and the employer sees that you have all the qualification and skills they need, they will employ you even with a visiting visa BUT you will not be able to start work until 1. they obtain a work permit for you (now has to be in one of the tiers). Then 2. you will need to return to your home country to have that new visa stamped on your passport for you to re-entre the UK and take up the employment. This is exactly what happened to me. I got my job on my visiting visa, with just 2 months left to expire. But I am a Maths/Science teacher and teachers are in high demand in the UK even up until now, so are nurses, health care workers, see this website for the other jobs that in shortage in the UK. This website gives a very comprehensive list and explains the different workpermit tiers etc. http://www.workpermit.com/uk/tier-2-visa-national-shortage-occupation-list.htm.
That is misleading info, the employer will not obtain work permit for him, he will not even stand a chance of going for an interview IF he does not have the right to work in the UK, applying for a skill job with visiting visa is breaking his visa rule to start with.
What employers give to those who have the right to work in the UK is certificate of sponsorship then that is what you use to apply for working visa and it does not guarantee you a visa.

If by random check gladostix is caught with his CVs at the POE while on visiting visa, chances are he will be deported and his visa cancelled.
