Americans (generally speaking) are very funny peoples. @ OP: So you're trying to choose between your Sweerat and studying abroad/Meeting diff. people---?. Well, the choice is yours. Draw your scale of prefrence and choose which is more important to you.
na true now. |
You like UK and that's okay. No tears shed. What's worse in your opinion, a redneck white American woman who isn't well traveled thinking Africa is a country or a Nigerian man thinking Cubans aren't hispanic and DC has the largest HIV/AIDS infections in the world?
That is worse considering her position, she policies could be dangerous. . .Tea Party for example. . . what unknown Nigerian thinks doesn't matter. |
He knows Brits are less open minded and expressive than Americans. He is pulling your legs. One thing I can say about America though at least we have a Black President and can move up the corporate ladder compared to UK. Speaking of killings and violence, a bomb exploded in Abuja.
Actually you are. . . wrong, Americans doesn't do it for me, you got to worry for a country that produced the likes of Sarah Palin who thinks she can see Russia from her bedroom and thinks that Africa is a country. ![]() |
pendo89:The other way round is the case with me, I don't see them as friendly as i see British pple, maybe younger generation Americans will change that. |
That's for anyone who doesn't travel outside of their country/continent and educate themselves about cultural diversities without depending on CNN. I can say the same thing about Africa. Lord knows!
That is true and Americans travel less, Africans know more about America and the UK than those countries know about themselves cos we learn alot about foreign history in school and visit those countries than they do visit Africa. |
Lacrissa:People in the UK are more open minded, US tend to know only about. . . US basically. |
pendo89:There are more killings in US as its in the UK, i'm tempted to say. . its even worst in US considering their gun law. |
Lacrissa:That is everywhere, if you are afraid of that then u will never live anywhere else. |
pendo89:No cold in US? |
Lacrissa:If i were i will go to US purely cos of ur gf. |
Oye50:Discharge her? Do you have a soul at all? Seriously some Nigerian men deserved to be castrated. I feel sorry for the poor girl. |
paris10:I know you will hate to read from me (you know why) but got no choice. You are a joke, men like you creates evil women. you wasted her life, you used for her yrs, and suddenly you realized that she is not good enough for you , you knew all this for past 5-6yr. How i wish she is bold enough to make ur life hell, make you look less a man you are. Dickhead |
Hey guys, this is my first post on nairaland ever. Ive been following this thread for a few weeks now and i must say it was extremely helpful while i waited for my visa. I stumbled on it a few days after I had made my application and while i followed most of the rules as described in the UKBA website I missed out one thing, which was doing the OANDA printout thing. Also on the day i submitted i discovered they had just changed the application form so i rushed to download, print and fill a new one that morning. It was when i was about to submit at VFS i discovered that the printer had some formatting issues and misprinted some of the characters replacing them with strange symbols. At this point there was nothing i could do but pray that it wouldn't be an issue. These oddities were however a great source of worry for me as i waited for the confirmation sms. I battled with anxiety and kept thinking what if this and that? Thankfully i received my visa this week after 15 working days if u don't count the day i applied. All the tips and advice have been outlined here but i want to add something extra. Intending applicants for any visa should endeavour to make appointments online on VFS website. Im not sure what it is again but google is your friend. It seriously cuts your wating time at the application centre and you get attended to immediately. Kinda like paying that 10k for VIP treatment. In going to St Andrews in Scotland in September, anyone here going my direction?
Congrat!! Good school as well, a member of Royal family attended that university. |
gbaby87:I'm sure u will enjoy it there, Wales is a lovely place. |
Hi guys, I was here last year actually. I got my Student visa last year around this time. Actually, I did a foundation programme in Uni. Glamorgan last year and I will be needing a visa extension to continue my degree ( which i will finish in three years) No, I already read the visa extension pages on the UKBA website and it said I will be needing to show my full fees for my first year + maintenance funds for only two months ( which is equivalent to 1200 pounds since I'm outside the London Boroughs) I'm sure of this but I need to be extra sure. My current visa expires in October this year and I'll be submitting my application on Thursday after the holiday. (+ I completed my foundation programme just three months ago) I copied and Pasted what's below directly from the UKBA website. "Do you have an 'established presence'? Any student (including a postgraduate doctor or a student union sabbatical officer) has an established presence studying in the UK if they: * completed a single course of study lasting at least 6 months during their most recent permission to stay in the UK, which ended no more than 4 months before their current Tier 4 application; or * are applying to continue studying on a single course in the UK, of which they have completed at least 6 months. Additionally, their current or most recent permission to stay must have been: * under Tier 4; or * as a student under the former Immigration Rules that were in force until 30 March 2009; or * as a postgraduate doctor or dentist. You cannot amalgamate 2 or more courses to make up the 6 months' study. Your current location (inside or outside the UK) does not affect whether you have an established presence here as a student . How much money do you need? If you have an established presence, you must show that you have enough money to cover your living costs (see above) for: * 2 months; or * the length of your course, if this is less than 2 months. If you do not have an established presence, you must show that you have enough money to cover your living costs (see above) for: * 9 months; or * the length of your course, if this is less than 9 months. If the length of your course includes a part of a month, we will round the time up to the next month. For example, if a course lasts 7 months and 2 weeks, you must show (unless you have an established presence) that you can pay your living costs for 8 months. " You can find this at: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/studyingintheuk/adult-students/can-you-apply/money/how-much/#
The bolded part is all u need for an extension of that nature + ur result transcripts |
TBrownAuto:Read your post again,and re-post, it doesn't make a single sense. |
may30:Please God!! where have pple like you being getting ur news from? How many has Gaddafi killed BEFORE NATO went in? Both the rebels and pro-Gaddafi forces have killed, i admit that but please stop aruging like a 5yrs old boy. Read read read pls read and stop making some ridiculous statement like this. How can some Nigerians be like this? Some of u have yrs to catch up with reality. |
gbaby87:Oh ok, nah u will be fine, boko haram killing will not stop BHC from doing their job. Which school did u applied for? |
TBrownAuto:How old are u? Next time learn how to use full-stops and commas when u write. I can't be bothered reading from you anymore, you are a disgrace. |
TBrownAuto:Any similarity between you and a human is purely coincidental!, anyone who told you to be yourself couldn't have given you worse advice. Are you always so stupid or is today a special occasion? |
gbaby87:Have u been issued visa? |
Cipriani:Evidence? Fake medical report |
Cipriani:I don't feel sorry for any of Crystal service victims neither do i have any respect for common criminals like you who has being promoting this day-light robbery |
Cipriani:His question is perfectly in order, you should answer him as Crystal Service nairaland Rep, instead of insulting him. |
Builder:I'm done with u on this, like i said b4. . .i'm not a stranger to ur one-sided views. |
Builder: Who is supplying pro-Gaddafi fighters with their own ammunition? |
Builder:You see the prob i have with u and others who peddle this ant-western views? You have provided a clip from Russian TV and you want me to believe it but if paste clips after clips from BBC, Sky News or Aljazzera you will call them western propaganda. Try and free urself from one sided view of things, Russian supplied Gaddafi his weapons, it was shown in Sky news yesterday, they are all labelled . . .made in Russia. . now, there is nothing wrong with Libya buying weapons from Russia but if the west does the same thing many of you will pick up ur conspiracy theory pen and start pouring out ur views. We know that Russia and China did not back NATO intervension BUT they did not vote against it, they basically abstain . . indirectly giving their consent. If Gaddafi is that good why are Libyans fighting? The west paid them to get rid of Gaddafi? |
Builder:Many Gaddafi fighters caught are mainly black Africans mostly from Niger, its not a secret, i know your view about West and the media, so. . no matter what i say here you will still play your recorded ant-western views. I'm against any form of killing, the coverage so far from Sky news, BBC and Aljazzera have being fair considering the situation those Journalist face. Your comments about condom and condileeza rice is just childish, i wouldn't go into such argument with u on that |
Builder:That is aggregation, lets wait and see. |
thameamead:I agree with some of the points u made. . .about the killing of blacks BUT most of the mercenaries hired by Gaddafi are blacks, its hard to know who is who in a war situation like this. |
olaleye:I thought they said Crystal Service is no longer selling the form? Interesting. |
