Is that number USA number? I mean, every sign of scam is writen all over the message. if somebody wins, the person gets an official letter and not txt msg. |

TitanMoon: Britain belongs to the British, they can do what they want with their country, if you don't like it you can study or work in another country.
Britain is a tiny island that is growing massively through immigration, Britain simply cannot sustain the massive amount of immigration seen in the past 5 years. It cannot incur unlimited immigration. Once in a while u come out from hiding to post nonsense, are you also ready to welcome back all British pple living in other countries? excanny: Why does this UjuJoan always thinks she's an authority on Igbo matters?
If you had that knowledge of Igbo culture and Igbo men, why are you not a constant feature on the culture thread? I think you really need to shut up and quit talking trash. Where did you get this notion of Igbo men being controlling and full of pride? Have you met all Igbo men, and where did you get your stats from? Or you are simply going along with the false stereotypes. It's unfortunate that it's only Igbo folks that say nonsense about their people on this forum. You can never find others doing so, even if they see negatives in their people. Are you sure some of them are actually Igbos? Anybody can claim to be one online. |
Dayo, Nigerian men in particularly not the Nigerian women have a bad reputation around the world. When people hear NIGERIAN the first thing comes to mind is SCAMMER not the fact that he could be a good man or a man of character. It the same thing with black women, OH SHE IS A GOLD DIGGER, STUBBORN, FEMINAZI, AND A LovePeddler, stereotypes often times leave people alone and frustrated because many of them missed out on their true love. When I met my husband it was not known to me that he was Igbo and it didn't matter to me where tribe his family originated from what was more important to me his character and his love for humanity which I love. When I found out that he was Igbo later on because once again I assumed he was Black American, his nationality wasn't in question I was like oh okay so? But I didn't realize how BAD OF A REPUTATION that Nigerian men until I brought him around friends, family members, and coworkers. I mean they talked about my husband like he was a dog and I was furious because when you insult my husband, you insult me, I told them that why many of them tricks are lone and lonely because of ignant nyansh mofos like them who use STEREOTYPE to determine their happiness. That the problem with poster's father is that he falling into the stereotype then again he may sense things that the poster aren't seeing, my whole point is that we need to STOP PREJUDGING people before we ACTUALLY GET TO KNOW THEM, I am not naive and I do know there are many scammers but there also many decent people and we need to stop focusing on the NEGATIVE AND THE POSITIVE, Oh lawd I pregnant! I am being too nice! Arggggh! Let me be mean, come on!
Well said!!! |

Panthera9: Thanks y'all for your comments and advice, they were very helpful. I think I'll just take my time with him, and keep talking to my dad, with time, things will clear out, I hope, And BTW I'm not Kenyan, I'm from Ivory Coast. You know I was also worried about the same thing, why would he leave his business and follow me where I'm, But he said because he loves me and if my dad doesn't want me in Naija, then he will move, So I said ok, But even if he was to gain something from me, what would that be I'm not super rich, just upper middle class, I don't know, I feel like he is the perfect person for me, but things are becoming harder than I expected, Just follow ur heart, if he is becoming too desperate then think about it again. Why do the Igbo family stress childbirth upon marriage? Why can't the couple enjoy marriage without children for a time being before procreating babies? Just curious,
There is this common believe that childbirth is a sign of blessed marriage(not my view though) and grandparents want to be able to hold their grand-child b4 they die. Romance › Re: Should I Marry A Nigerian Guy When My Father Doesn't Agree? by justwise(m): 2:22pm On Nov 24, 2010 |
Ujujoan: @ Justwise Since you are Igbo, then you know exactly why I call them 'controlling'. An Igo man doesn't marry a wife alone . . the whole kindred marries her! If it's a catholic family, the catholic church marries the woman too. It's the culrute. And because of this culture, it's highly unlikely that he will compromise, on anything, out of love. The family will just not let it happen! Okay, scenario, if the tables were turned (he was in the US and she in Nigeria), do you think the family will hear of this idea of 'following her anywhere'? That's when they will explain the intricacies involved in the concept of the man 'marrying' the woman . . and not the other way round! The father has good reason to doubt his Nationality, I mean c'mon, we don't have the best of reputations. But at least he still kept an open mind enough to meet him. . . . And is still NOT convinced! I think she should thread with caution sha! Yes Nigeria don't have the best reputation but who does? Nigeria as a nation is very religious, its not just a tribal thing. With her dady's mindset about Nigerians, he doesn't stand a chance to start with. It depends on ur defination of ' controlling' what you called controlling maybe completely different from what the poster may regard as controlling. You may think that a man is contolling if you failed to get ur way and the man stood his ground. |
