dizzynet: Thanks for your reply. So I took pcr test today and got a positive result. Absolutely devastated as my flight is tomorrow ! I do not have any symptoms and also wondering where/when I might have caught it. The question now is what can I do ? Uk government just announced self isolation can be cut to 7 days if I have a negative lft and no symptoms on the 7th day but I have been told that it is possible (likely even) to keep getting pcr positive up to 4 months after infection. Does the Nigerian government/air carriers recognise people that have recovered from covid but are pcr positive ? Really sorry to read this, i can only imagined how you feel right now. Not everyone test positive continually for that long. a work mate was in your situation but her day8 test came out negative. So change your ticket and isolate |

mystikal: Quick question please, who knows where I can get a covid PCR test done quickly. A friend needs it to travel to Nigeria from Glasgow and he claims it has to be done 48 hours before travel. He doesn't intend to spend more than £80 on this. Any pointers please?
P.S. his flight to Lagos from Heathrow is 28th December, the one from. Glasgow to Heathrow is on the 27th. It's tricky https://scot.randox.com/ |

lawali: @justwise/others who travelled from UK to Naija recently, can one transit through Qatar to Naija with only fit to fly cert (departure PCR). I can see UK is on red list of Qatar.
Is there additional requirement other than PCR test? I have checked everywhere I can’t see any but want to err on side of caution. Trying avoid being stranded.
I will appreciate your immediate response. Family member needs to travel from Glasgow to Lagos tomorrow. Urgently need to do booking. Thanks I did not take that route so i wouldn't know but usually your pcr and vaccination evidence are all you need, you also need to book and pay for 2day pcr in Nigeria before arriving. You will be asked about this at Nigerian airport |

MHElijah: You have made your point please stop stressing it. People survive in Ukraine and the truth is that the country is better than Nigeria in a reasonable percentage. I’m not comparing Ukraine to Nigeria, whether Ukraine is better than Nigeria is a completely different issue. My point is.. don’t just waste money leaving Nigeria to a country that has little or nothing to offer you. Nobody leaves Nigeria because of good road and steady power supply, you can get that in Abuja and many other cities in Nigeria, you leave to a country that offers you a better chance in life, earn decent living without doing illegal jobs, friendly immigration policies etc Ukraine will not even allow foreign students to work legally. Many Nigerians living there are desperate to move to another country. Lastly I think it’s madness to pay $$$$$ for so called visa guarantee even when you are not sure of getting that visa . |

Traveling to Eastern Europeans countries will be a lot better. If you are leaving Nigeria to any country you have to make sure that that country worth it(immigration wise), straightforward path to get permanent resident or passport, getting a job( not those scamming call centre jobs) etc. A lot of you here are agents who are desperately looking for gullible Nigerians to rip-off. |

You can book a flight directly from the airline you want to travel with, BA,KLM,Turkish airlines etc 2. you need to do PCR test 48hrs before your flight and show the result at the airport else you will not be allowed to board. As for the visa guarantee it’s not compulsory but I’ll advice you to pay

EmmyKing86: Hello everyone.
I noticed a few pages ago there seemed to be some confusion about ILR 10 years route, so I would like to share my positive experience.
Date of Standard Online Application: 31/08/2021 Payment Debited & Confirmation email received: 31/08/2021 Documents Uploaded via UKVCAS website: 14/09/2021 Biometrics submitted in person (Cardiff): 15/09/2021 Complex Letter: NONE Received positive decision email: 17/12/2021 Received BRP: Waiting.
I accumulated the following visas during my 10 years stay: Tier4 student visa (5 years; 1yr Master's, 4yrs Ph.D.), Doctorate Extension Scheme (1yr), Tier 2 skilled visa (4 yrs).
For ILR long residence route (10yrs), you can fast-track the decision via the super-priority payment (extra £800) opened at 1 am (yes, after midnight). I would have done this but was not aware of the 1 am super-priority opening.
For me, it was imperative that I switch from tier 2 to ILR as soon as possible. I have always not really fancied my stay in the UK dependant on my employers or any other party. There are several instances where individuals and their families had to relocate back to Nigeria/other countries because they lost their jobs, company went bust e.t.c. and could not get another sponsor. A lot of people fell victim to this, especially during the pandemic.
A little bit of advice for those who recently came to the UK and are seeking permanent residency in the future is to plan accordingly. Start small and gradually grow big. As you may all have read from people's experiences, it's really not easy particularly for those coming with family on tier4 students visas. I cannot overemphasize cultivating the habit of saving and financial discipline as an application to transfer to another visa category or extend your visa is quite expensive. Also, put into consideration the cost of living e.t.c. Please, don't be too quick to spend lavishly while giving people back at home any kind of false impressions. Again, there are people who had to leave prematurely after making extravagant purchases due to losing their jobs and being unable to find another one on time.
Wishing you all good luck and all the best. Couldn't agree more. Congratulations!! |

Many of us that got Ukraine visas never started with applying to Ukraine. Na condition make crayfish back bend. Peace! One love! GeneralDae: What are the benefits of Ukraine though? Does it offer much after studies in terms of jobs, PR and Citizenship? I ask because I used to see Ukraine as a transit point for Nigerians, where you go with the hope to get visas to other European countries. That is what Ukraine is for many Nigerians. It offers noting to immigrants. |

SAMWISE94: Who says Ukraine doesn't have anything to offer me? Quality education, good transport system, uninterrupted power, good health system....to name a few. You think it's everyone that wants to cross to other European countries? Some person are comfortable here. Ghana, South African, Morocco, Namibia, and many African countries offer you all that but you never bribe an agent to get a visa to those countries. Even the UK or US you don't pay anything close to that for visa. |

SAMWISE94: So because i can't travel freely to other countries from Ukraine, that makes Ukraine a dead-end? Lol. What's the big deal in applying for visiting visas to other parts of the world? Abeg...kindly carry your bad energy comot. Many of you who are desperate to leave Nigeria are ready to travel to any country without reasoning. If you are ready to pay so much to bribe an agent to get a visa to any country then make sure that that country has something to offer you. Paying so much to get Ukrainian visa is like paying so much for kpomo meat that gives nothing in the body, |
