BrunoMads: Can I change it to London at Instanbul? Do you know how much it could cost? And if I have landed in Birmingham, how do I go to London if I can't use a public bus? And what about Immigration? Won't they ask me why my address in the locator form is London and I'm landing in Birmingham? Have you booked a hotel yet? |

BrunoMads: Hi guys, I have a little misunderstanding, I booked my flight to Birmingham, now my uncle that lives in London is asking me to come over to his place to quarantine in London, since I don't have any place Birmingham yet, I initially planned I was going to stay in a hotel for fifteen days to quarantine and try get a place to live before he came into the picture. So he has sent my his address in London for locator form. Now my my problem is my flight is heading to Birmingham not London, I have a layover of seven hours in Instanbul, can I reroute from Birmingham to London at Instanbul? And at what cost if it is possible? Or , if I can get to Birmingham and head to London by Bus will the immigration disturb me about the address I filled in my locator form being in London at Birmingham airport ? Will it raise any eyebrows? You can take a bus or train to London from Birmingham, you can't reroute your flight as it will cost you more than train or bus from Birmingham to London |

elenengine: @justwise and all other gurus here. Good morning, on my previous visiting visa application, I claimed I have two family members in the UK when filling my form back then in 2018, both of them are cousins to me, I made an application to visit one of them then, which she is a student schooling the UK, EVEN till now (undergraduate) but unfortunately I was refused based on the fact that I don't have enough fund in my account to spend in the UK. but the second one is a British citizen, BUT DIFFERENT SURNAME. I was refused 2014 BASED ON: I don't present enough proof of our relationship. my QUESTION NOW, now am applying as a dependant to my wife. IF a question is asked; do you have relatives in the UK, what should I put? Yes you have a family member living in the UK. For the fact that you were denied a visa does not mean that you don't have anybody in the UK anymore. |

fatima04: The husband is not under any obligation to send money but if he can afford it then he should and depending on their family dynamics.
Once they both got married their families were joined together. The fairness statement was referring to if the wife isn't working and the husband completely ignores her family side just because he isn't obligated to.
Also, there are things spouses for the husband/in-law family as well asides money which needs to be reciprocated. ..yeah joined together financially, don't forget that the husband has mum&dad and other siblings too who are also joined together with him financially . Helping inlaws should be voluntary and not obligatory |

dupyshoo: My obligation is both to my parents and my spouse parents. We give them money as a family. They don't know who is giving them the money. So, if the wife is at home taking care of the kids and not earning money, her parents should not be taken care of. Let's be fair!!
However, currently they are not in the position to be giving parents money. They should sort themselves out first. The husband is not under any obligation to do that. Talking about fairness.. is she sending money to her mother or father Inlaw? |

babajeje123: I have told her I can't be giving her mom money monthly. It is not sustainable. My mom will understand if at any point I don't give her a penny for months, hers might not and I don't want to start what I can't finish. I told her I don't have any plan for her mom but she should let me know her own plans for her mom and I will support. Bros your immediate responsibilities are your kids and your wife, anything outside that is just secondary, I don’t know how to put this clearer to you … bro you need all the money you can get to survive here with your family. Ultimately it falls on your shoulders to provide for your family. . You on student visa takes home more than people with a stay because you are not taxed or pay council tax. When you are out of that visa category your take home will feel the heat and council tax comes in. |

Maturedhustler: My people,
I have been a silent follower of this thread and UK student thread for months. I have read and keep reading to learn and channel my course from many experiences in this forum. Thanks to great contributors like Justwise, chreze, Fatimo04, Lexusgs430,Scoobydo, Lagosishome, HRguy, Dupshe and many others too numerous to mention (apology if I wrongly spelt ur ID)
Following my learnings from here, I have successfully entered UK (Glasgow to be precise) with my family via student (UWS, Lanarkshire) route. Currently in BnB as advised for next 2 weeks while searching for permanent residence. I am searching on openrent, Gumtree, Zoopla etc
My campus is in Lanarkshire, Scotland but my priority is best school for my kids (16,15,13 &10). In my search, Refrenshire has best schools but we like to have local/close to ground information that can guide me in areas to focus on while searching for accommodation.
My 1st intention for relocation is to get my teenager children into UK university without paying international fees as UK resident (getting best education at reasonable cost) and I guess to achieve that, I have to start looking beyond my 1-yr master program. I need a lot of guidance on this. I am open to work/setting up business (good in pastry, restaurant and supermarket)
I got a hint that as a student even if am a resident, my dependent going to university/college will still pay international fees. Pls I need confirmation on this for my guidance. My first child (will be 17 by Apr) is to enter final class in High school and should be going to higher institution later this year.
My husband is willing to support via his work back in Naija and be visiting for now. He’s open to changes as event unfolds.
Thanks in advance as I look forward to your sincere advice. bro you try oo, 4kids on student visa route is not beans, well-done!! Regarding your question about your kids paying home student's fees..i pretty much doubt that. |

meeday07: Srzly ?.. Ok closing balance is the the amount u have in your account on the day u av decided to be the last day of your transaction and not necessarily the day u print. For instance, if u print a statement from 1s Dec to 28th Dec and u did the printing on the 30th of Dec, your closing balance will only show the amount u av in your account as at 28th and not the 30th u printed I don't know what you are on about. Your 28days counting starts from the day you have the complete money in your account. |

Iferewaju: Your POF starts counting from the last day of transaction on it (this in most cases is the day it’s printed or downloaded from online). For example, if u printed ur POF on December 10 and did biometrics on December 20, The ECO will reckon with the December 10 which is still valid because it’s not up to 31days. Let’s assume u did biometrics on Jan 11 and u have printed since Dec 10, POF is no longer valid Your POF start counting from the day you have complete money in that account |

Good that Boris has ruled out any more lockdowns, but the restrictions are almost as harmful as the lockdowns, especially the "if you get a positive LFT, go home for 10 days" stuff which is really killing public services. Thank you sir/ma KennyKale
I'm using a UK bank account from Halifax Bank, with a balance of over 17K GBP. I got cas with the same account, my tuition deposit was paid from the same account. The first money lodged into the account was lodged on the 30th of Sep. Last transaction was on Dec 14th, when my deposit was paid.
My question is, I'm looking to apply for visa this week, is it okay if I print from Dec 6th to Jan 3rd? Or does it matter if I print from Sep 30th that £15K was first paid into the account? It's my parents acct.
Also, is it mandatory that It's signed and stamped? It was printed electronically and it shows bank logo, acct number, address, date printed, balance and transaction charts.
Thanks. 1.Are you currently living in the UK or lived in the UK in the past? 2. Is the bank account yours or your sponsor? You can print from the date the money was deposited and you don't need to stamp it. |
