Thanks to ell77 for starting this thread and to everyone else who has contributed meaningfully, especially justwise. I have gotten my visa and it was issued under a week. Thank God for His mercies, I am so grateful. I submitted the following original documents along with the application forms: CAS letter, laminated WAEC Certificate, Bachelor's degree Certificate, letter of attestation from my former University, Transcript and Personal Bank Statement. My visa was issued despite the fact that I submitted a laminated document, as well as an unsealed transcript (which, by the way, is not addressed to the BHC). Again, I didn't submit any letter of introduction from my bank along with my account statement.
I hope this info will help to ease the minds of some worried house members.

all they get is thank you and we collect their details for more information if needed
some of their close friend can rack them out as well even if all documents are real and marriage is fake
they can still get into trouble for that cus its still marriage fraud

i work for the council (Housing) and trust me i get tip off calls at least three to five times a month about pple letting out council properties just cus they don't want to pay

I don't think so, most of those marriages are kept secret, even if somebody tips them off as long as you meet the requirements and did not submit dodgy documents, the marriage will still stand.

Marrying somebody you know little or nothing about, they don't even leave together, she speaks only. . . say polish and the husband to be don't,  forging utility bills, rushing to registry when u have a month left on your visa. . . the list go on. . .

So i want to know if he can travel with visa procured from a country other than his resident and visiting country. He stays in Nigeria and want to courier is passport to Angola for Shengen visa. Your advice is welcome.

He wil run into trouble and may get his passport seized, if there is no stamp on his passport showing that he has travelled to Angola b4 then his Schengen visa is questionable

@ JUSTWISE, Though the company is not the sponsor, i believe a letter of introduction (not sposor letter) submitted along with the application infer that the applicant is working and has some source of income which might play a big part on the statement of account where inflow can be traced to salary especially if the applicant make use of salary account. I know a lot of people that did that and got their VISA without hitch

With the old student visa rule , letter from the company may play a part but with the PBS i doubt, his salary account or payslip will show whether he can afford the study in the UK or not, letter from his bank will carry more weight than letter from his company, though i completely understand where u are coming from and i could be talking nonsense.

Maybe for holiday visa, i doubt it will have any effect whatsover when it comes to student visa.

Well, i guess my case resembles urs and that u agree wif me that applications made thru agent are treated wif urgency which u and i dont enjoy at the moment. My friend was refused visa because his CAS showed that he hasnt paid any part of his tution fee of which he later paid full tution fee after he had received his CAS and was sent an official receipt. According to him, he included the receipt in his application but he was refused on the basis that the BHC followed the content of the CAS which showed that he hasnt paid anything and failed to honour the receipt tendered. He has written to the sch to resend his CAS and reflect the payment therein. He will reapply later. Hope your case isnt like this?lol,

That is completely untrue, BHC treats every applicant at their own pace and guidelines. Agent got no influence at all.

You don't need that for student visa, as you rightly pointed out, they are not sponsoring you.

Its time for the work-shy, lazy backsides to get up and get a job, i really hope that the govt do something about the free-loaders.

Now to the topic. . . too many Nigerians are getting caught in this shame marriage thing, Nigerians go about it WITHOUT sense, they know nothing about each other, they forge papers, do all sorts of silly things then get caught.

How can you marry somebody you know little or nothing about? Many of these Nigerians don't even have valid visa b4 going into the arrange marriage thing. They saw it coming.

If you have the complete amount (fees+maintenace) then more money going into the account is not bad.

please just another question.There is a mistake on my birth certificate as my name was spelt incorrectly.Is it possible to use an age declaration when applying for my visa?

Nothing wrong with that, i used that couple of years ago as well.

Yes attach the letter of award to ur application, nothing wrong with that.

Laminated certificate is a prob BUT many pple submit it anyway cos getting another one from ur school may take ages, and i never read from anybody here who was refused a visa cos of laminated certificate, i guess the BHC is coming to terms with the fact that Nigerians does laminate their documents often.

Pls am confused,my maintenance fund is 5400p which i calculated to be 1.3m nw i av 1.5m in my accnt.but i still want to deposit another 500k.pls will the 28days starts from the day my money became 1.5 or from the date i deposits the 500k to make it 2m.??

Hi! Just wanna ask about Bank funds in order to apply for pbs tier 4. My dad is the one who will sponsor me and ofcourse its his bank account im gonna use to submit to British embassy. But i just read here that the money in that bank account should remain untouchable. Im quite confused about this, when you said unctouchable, do you mean that there must no transaction at all like "Bank deposits"?? Im sooo worried about this, because my dad always get his salary every 28 days from his company. Is it fine to have bank deposit? Please give me some advice about this one.

Alot of pple get confused about that, not just u, u can transfer the school fees and mainenace money into ur account and leave it for 28days b4 applying for visa.

@justwise fanks for your earlier response. I have sent the school the documents relation to my lost passport issue though I haven't heard anything from them yet. Another problem I am facing is this ** I intend to put the money into my account next week Monday, August 9 but 28 days would mean that I can only apply to the embassy Monday 6th of September. However my school resumes on the 11th of September, now if I tell the school to grant me 2weeks grace, can the embassy refuse me a visa based on the fact that my school has resumed earlier? OR on the other alternative, my old man just fixed 2mil into an acct in his name, though the whole money I need is 2.8mil. Can I add an extra 1 mil into the account? If I can, would I have to start counting 28days from the day the 1 mil was fixed? Thanks for your help so far!!

Sometimes BHC takes less than 15days to issue visa, u can ask for the 2wks extension and submit ur visa application, finger crossed u will make it on time

Sadly yes u have to start counting from the very day u deposited the last money

Thanks for the response. I only have photocopy with me. I used the original for one of the schools i applied for last year. Also can the money for both school and maintainance fees be in a fixed deposit account bearing my name since some of this sponsors may be afraid of keeping it in a savings or current account.

Nothing wrong with that as long as ur sponsor gives u letter to back up ur application supported with an active bank statement.

Please on my unconditional letter of offer, it was only my degree certificate that was stated as document used in making decision for my admission. Do i need to submit my transcript & NYSC discharge certificate when submitting my visa application since i scanned it to them for my admission `process.
