No, u don't need that. ur enrolment processes will have nothing to do with ur bank statement.

thanks justwise for your response. i only have £12 left to pay for the fees. it is stated on my CAS letter as well. what i really want to know is if i'm home and dry with the 2million left in my account, ie the fixed deposit and the savings. they both have been there for the same period and i intend sending their statements along with my husband's pay-slips, statement to show the source of the funding.

hi, i have a question for justwise and other nairalanders, my bank account starts with an opening balance of 600,000 naira, then my husband sent the amt of 2,900,000 also thereby making a total of 3.5 million in the acct as at the 20th of july. i then transferred the equivalent of 6238 pounds to my school for tuition. after that i fixed the sum of 1,296,000naira in my name and i still have 731,000 in my savings. in pounds, that should be well above 5,400 pounds required since my school is in salford.

my question is, in the section that i have to fill the amount to be paid on the self-assessment form, do i put in all i have or just the £5,400; and when exactly do i apply? is it on the 19th or 20th of august? please i'm getting a bit confused

If u have paid part of the fees then the amount to be paid will be the remaining fees, £5,400 is the maintenace fees, u don't need to write it there.
Print out the school fees reciept from the school and attach it in ur visa application.

Hi all.

My school stated in the offer letter they gave me that I'm entitled to a 5% discount if I pay my fee in full prior to the start of my course. So, I paid 95% of the fee but when I got CAS, it was stated that I paid £9025 and wrote full fee as £9500. They later sent a mail and said I'm entitled to the discount. The problem now is: what do I write on the application form where they asked how much me fee is and how much is outstanding cos from the mail they sent to me from the school, they said I've paid my tuition in full.

Your full school fees now is minus that 5% which is £9025, so in that form, u will write £9025 AND attached that letter from the school telling u that u are entitled to 5%. That 5% is taken into consideration when calculating full fees.

If you are not sponsoring urself then u need a letter from ur sponsor. If you don't work and no source of income and suddenly u have 3-4m naira to study abroad, don't you think that questions will be asked about that money?

Thank you so much for wishing me luck. I was told and i also read from the requirements that[b] if you are above 17 [/b] u do not need a sponsor letter. Anyway i put everything in the hand of the Almighty God and i know he will grant me my desires.

Do you expect a 17, 18 or 19 yrs old in Nigeria to have 3 to 4m naira in his or her account to study abroad ? Yes anybody under 17 need parental consent to travel abroad cos in the UK anybody under that age is regarded as a child/minor.

I always have the balance and maintenance in my account which was deposited by meself,do i still need a sponsor letter and source of fund? I have already submitted and these are the docs i submitted.

Its not a must to book for accommodation at all, lets leave the question about sponsor's letter since you have submitted already, it will not change anything now. Best of luck

Then u can go ahead and use it, it will only be a problem IF you had used fake DOB b4 in applying for visa and was refused, but if this is ur first time then go ahead.

Attach the receipt given to you by the school if you were given one.

Getting a sponsor's letter will help ur visa application but then again how can he give sponsor's letter since you don't share the same family name? That is where u may have a prob.

@ justwise-- u are right, it's simply my opinion but judging from what schools normally send along with CAS, u'll discover that all the doc / info submitted during admission can be looked up at the embassy online by inserting the CAS NO
quote is usually in this format: Please find attached, scanned CAS Statement confirming your place on our next course. The letter does not need to be sent to the Embassy as they have already been sent all your details on line. When contacting the Embassy please quote the CAS number shown on your letter.

My point is: If you sent ur certificate AND transcript to the school and the school gave you an admission based on those 2 documents THEN when applying for visa you need to submit those 2 documents as well.

I got my student visa today after 12 working days and i express my appericaition to all whose contributions have been helpful. To Justwise, u are an angel and u'll remain my boss. Just to allay some fears, i submitted my degree certificate (though i used my transcript to gain the admission), my Neco result, attestation letter from my school, accomodation letter from my school in the UK, statement of acct and letter of sponsor from my brother.
I didnt pay any part of my tution fee except 200pounds i paid to book accomodation but i had all the money in my account. I need to add that I deposited my money at the rate of #228 per 1 pound but when i printed my statement and submited my application the exchange rate had risen above that. I was very afraid but had faith in Allah. So if your case is like mine, put your trust in your God. Thank u all.

My major interest is that u got your VISA without submitting your transcript (ONLY CERTIFICATE) @ BHC. I wrote last week about the issue of submission of transcript when i discovered that majority are somehow confused of whether to submit it with their application or not, My suggestion on this is that since u've submitted this at the point of gaining admission, it's not a[b] must to submit it again except if the applicant is a fresh graduate when dropping the application off at BHC[/b]. I wish others good luck in their applications

I don't think there is anything u can do now considering the fact that schools here starts new semester next month.
Is either u submit it like that with the hope that the BHC will not notice it Or go for Jan admission while u sort it out.

I don't see anything wrong in using it as long as u share the same family name with him.

You will be refused if you apply with that company's account, the money there is for the runing of the business and not for you to spend on education.

The savings account is ur best option IF the money there is enough to cover fees and maintenance fees AND the money has been there for 28days untouched.

Your case is different, those depositors bears ur family name AND its bank transfer BUT SAMMYTOPE used friends.

Why are u worried about providing your parent's bank statement if they have given you the money? Its easy to verify bank statement BUT anybody can write sponsor's letter and there is no guarantee that its genuine.

If you don't work and have millions in your account, don't you think it will raise an eyebrow?
Its not only about  having the money in your account but the BHC want to be sure that that money will be AVAILALBE for you when you get to the UK.

Looking at your parent's bank statment only will tell the BHC if ur parent can afford to sponsor u or not, or maybe the money was borrowed just for visa supposes.

Why do you need to do that? Depositing the money with different names will give the impression that u borrowed the money from those pple and when the visa is issued u return the money, why did you not deposit the money urself?

When submitting documents, is better to staple them neatly, to prevent them from coming loose and falling off in the process of trying to process them, so staple you application forms together, staple you transcripts together as well and any loose documents that have more than one page like bank statements and all. But staple them individually if you know what I mean like bank statements, transcripts, application form and all. Well if you mom is employed in a personal business then she can write the sponsor letter on a letter head but if it is in a public company or coorporation, she can't use the letter head of the company to write the letter since is not her company, or alternatively, she use the address that tallies with her account address on the letter head ie her address that she used in opening her account. You have to make photocopies of every document you are taking to the visa processing centre.

Make a photocopy of that visa application form, fill the photocopy and make all the corrections then transfer it to the original copy.

Yes do that, since your mummy transfered that money from her account to urs, that transaction will be seen and serve as your source of income.
Your friends got refused cos they did not submit any document to proof that somebody is sponsoring them since they are just student, no job, no reliable source of income. U will not be denied visa cos u submitted your mummy's bank statement and sponsor's letter.

I don't think u need a transit visa since ur transit is for an hr or two but you will not be allowed to leave the airport.
