Irenenwaka: Justwise, thanks for getting involved .....we learn from yu all gurus
I haven’t said it is impossible to get a visa with a business account.....i have said it reduces success rate.
Now this has been said as a result of analysing the denial stories on the thread thus far. 80 in 100 people who have used the business SOA has been refused.
Now i believe due to the fluctuations in business accounts one must be extra careful and cautious in explaining finances. So i would say business SOA requires way more care and detailed explanation and wen not given leads to refusal. But going the personal account route saves alot of stress....here in the uk alot of business owners pay themselves salary because actually ur funds in business account shud b for business and not vacations or other personal things
Please sir justwise which of these is misleading/incorrect i am personally here to learn. Do you know any business person who earns the same amount every month or year? Adding business account absolutely necessary land it’s not a bad thing when applying as a business person, in fact not including it will lead to refusal as it acts as your source of income and tie to Nigeria |

Oggg:
I am not a guru true but we live by results. I do not think it is misleading. We have seen countless of refusa letters on this same thread were the visa officer pointed out what the poster u quoted said.
Even in the last 10 pages, those with success followed a routine almost in tandem with what she subscribed.
I stand with irenewaka’s version BASED OFF THE SUCCESS RATES WE HAVE SEEN ON THIS THREAD. Until i see success rate with wht u alluded above is proven, sorry my opinion aligns with Irene. Have you also seen refusals on non- business people? I mean I have been running this thread for 10yrs plus now and I’m telling you that a lot of business people have been given a visa and you rate talking about last ten pages? |

Irenenwaka: Hello Narpheesarh, while we await the gurus in the house let me chip in my little input.
Firstly we have been advised over and over again not to ever include business statement of accounts in visit visa application, cause like we already know no business statement of account has consistent earnings. This reduces the chances of success drastically.....so just dont include the business financial statement of both of your parents.
Secondly.... if its not an urgent visit then i will suggest they pay themselves salary from thier business account to a personal account for about 6 months.
Thirdly.... if its an urgernt visit, i will suggest you dont include thier statement of accounts at all. just include your husbands statement since he is fully sponsoring them....... please note, i am not very sure about this option. i dont about thier chances of success without their SOA, although i think i met an individual on here who claimed to have gotten a visit visa without submitting her SOA becuase she was fully sponsored. like i said i cant verify this , but other gurus can add to this.
finally, i am in your situation as well. i want to invite my mum, she does a business as well but will be fully sponsored by my husband and i .... i will be approaching her application in february 2021 with the second option/point i stated (she satrted the salary thingy around september)........kindly note that, my mum has been refused visit visa twice for my wedding (on both occassions she included her business SOA) , so i have learnt enough lessons loool. you can click on my profile to view my previous posts, both refusal letters were posted. i think you wud learn from it. thnks This is misleading. I really don’t know why you keep peddling this misleading information, One can use business account to make a successful account and you don’t need to pay yourself salary |

I'm in UK right now and live in a shared apartment . My family will applying this mid December for student dependent visa but won't come till February. About the consent letter for kids, what do I write in the address part? Should I write where I live at the moment? I'm already looking for a bigger flat but I'm yet to make any commitment yet and I don't think I'll get to seal a deal before they apply. What do I write please? You need to get the accommodation issues sorted out first before inviting them because you will need the tenancy agreement paper as part of documents for the visa application, you can also use the new address for the consent letter. |

Preshy2004: But I know few persons that have stayed back in UK after school. How did they do it? The same way you know many people making it in Nigeria despite the doom and glom. One of the biggest mistake people make is to come to the UK purely because they want to leave Nigeria disguised as genuine students Do you have a realistic plan? Not about Nigerians are survivals, suffering in the UK is better than Nigeria bla bla bla Is your course marketable in the UK? Can you graduate with a grade that will make you standout from thousands who have the same qualification? What is your plan after graduation and you can't get a job? To stay back you need to be able to continue extending your visa or switch to other type of visa. Getting a graduate job is the shortest cut to that but the hardest as well now. Now this is the issue...any job you applied for now will have thousands of applicants and you need to standout 2x to be invited for an interview, many of the applicants are citizens/PR holders who doesn't need a visa or any condition to get a job. Those who stayed back genuinely worked their backside off and not wasting time spiritualising it. Its absolutely possible to stay back but out of 100 Nigerian students who came to the UK to study probably less than 20 will be able to stay back genuinely. |

pwettyhardey: 1) will one be granted Study Visa if one is pregnant and showing? 2) will one provide POF for the baby too?
PS The pregnant woman is the student
@mimilyrics @justwise @lagosismyhome Yes you will be granted a visa but though the baby is not born yet.. you still need to show that you have enough money to take care of that baby when you deliver in the UK. So the question is... 1. how are you going to cope with pregnancy and full time studying? 2. When you give birth what happens to your studies? 3. Are you travelling with someone who will help you before and after delivery? You need to declare in the form that you are pregnant showing or not and put details of how you plan to handle the situation else the embassy will likely consider the well-being of that unborn baby first before your need for foreign education |

Suf20: This is a trend and i believe everybody have equal right of contribution and asking question? Why did you want to be the only one providing answer to peoples question and wanting to render other people little experience valueless?
When I call to ask did you know the said man and the amount he wanted to collect per document did you agree or disagree to the amount? You know the answer you gave me. Is there a fixed price for legalization of document at the ministry of foreign affairs like that of Education? Have you mention the price to anybody you claimed to have help? Did you care to say this is the fixed price but if the person give you higher price with your negotiation power you can beg the person to help you with the amount close to the fixed price? Or how would you have help if you connected me with the said man are you not going to be the middleman in this scenario?
Please when you want to help someone help him or her with an open mind and if at the end the person want to appreciate you, it can be more than the little change you think you have added which the person may later get to know and feel disappointed.
Me as a person i don't expect anything free from anybody, all i need from people is true information even if it will cost me money, let me know I am paying for the information I am getting from you and let it be true cause I can decide to make it free tomorrow after getting it, but here you are scared that if people are getting legit information in full package from nairaland your line will not be buzzing again and you will not be able to get the little impress you are getting.
So I dare you to make it public how much it cost to legalize a document at the ministry of foreign affairs |

toyclicks: Hi Fam.
Wow! Good to drop in here as a testifier to this place. Hope y'all doing fine.
Ok so....quick one. Let me share my experiences so far I now understand why ppl abroad find it difficult to have time. You almost have to plan your breath. Time is really a scarce commodity here. I don't know how all the good ppl here @justwise, @mimilyrics, @stenon et all. I don't know how you find time for this forum ooo. You were and are still a blessing. Whatever way you have been able to keep squeezing out the time to help ppl here, I would say its worth every part of it. Being a part if so many ppl's life journey and being a blessing to them is worth all the effort. So pls as God helps you, don't get tired.
Now....let me say this bitter truth. A bitter truth that ppl on this forum have quarrelled with Justwise for saying. This ppl included me.
This is not the best time to come to the Uk.. IOW, if you have the means to still chill in Nigeria for 6-12months, sadly, I would advise you to do so.
However, if you want to come and join us to whether this terrible tough period, I am not discouraging you. You are welcome.
Let he explain a bit. If your aim is really studying, don't come right now, else you won't get value for your money. The pandemic has really messed things up. The online class is BS. Even the schools don't know how to handle the situation yet. One other major thing is that networking is difficult. In 6 weeks I only had a class meeting once. Till now I only met one of my senior colleagues since I've been here. No one to come to your aid. You are all by yourself. Everyone is trying hard to survive. Everyone is really busy. No one has your time. No one is available to put you through things. This is when you will value trivial things like seeing your colleagues and lecturer to chat and discuss, holding physical meetings. Believe me, you can't fathom how much frustration this can be, esp when we are talking about something that involves more or less the biggest investment of your life yet. This new way of life has affected many things and not everyone is able to adjust to it.
Also, don't think the lecturers are available to help you. They are not available to "babysit" anybody. They expect at the masters level that you are really cooked and there are many things you are expected to know. Unfortunately for those of us coming from a place like Nigeria, believe me, we are really undercooked. Believe me, a primary school kid here will do much better than you. One of my coursemates confessed to me that it was her kids that helped her with her coursework when she couldn't get a hang of it. Her kids were born and grown here. So you get what I mean. It's so easy for them to flow. Long and short, there is so much catching up for you to do in order to come up to the same level with these ppl. ...And yes, ppl are really getting stranded. I already know ppl whom we moved together from this thread and left with the hope that they can hustle it out. They are getting stranded. Pls if you are coming at this period, you are better off with as much buffer finances as possible.
As regards jobs. There are jobs and there are no jobs. What do I mean? Jobs have really been reduced cos of the pandemic. However there are still some kind of jobs in some remote areas far from town. Transport cost on the long run might take a big chunk of the pay(like 30%). The distance is much( to is like 2½ hrs. Making 5hrs round trip for your job commute) hope you can understand now. The jobs are simply available there cos the location is far from availability of labor. So you count your cost.
I am just taking time to explain all these so you understand my reason for advising to chill a bit if you can
However, for all the ppl like me wet naija don tire. Make una dey come ooo abeg. We go rough am. We go survive.
I hope my msg is not all too negative. But I think it will be of good to you if you get the true and clear picture of things so you can make informed decisions.
I wish us all the best we can be.
Cheers to y'all. I hope to share more and sweeter experiences later The loneliness especially as a new arrival can be tough, nothing beats face to face lectures and interactions. Get any job you can get hold of and build your contact from there. The most important thing is that you are honest with the situation and understand how to go about it. Coming back here to post this will help those who are open minded. All the best with your studies |
