The part about inability to register a new number without an NIN is true, and basically settled - the public is still shouting at the lousy government over the hasty and unthought-through decision to link existing numbers to NINs before year end. Remains to be seen what the outcome will be.

I too still maintain my MTN number because it's linked to my bank accounts back home, so am following the debate closely.
The process is what worries me but as a policy is not a bad idea

It's true Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) uploaded the press release on their website when the announcement was made.

Even FRSC wants to link drivers license to National ID. I saw this one their twitter page.

I was speaking with my elder brother In Nigeria yesterday and he mentioned that one will not be able to get register a new number In Nigeria again that registered ones has to be linked to national ID now.

Has anybody here heard about this ?

I still have my Nigerian number which I use occasionally because my bank account is linked to it.

I don’t have Nigeria national ID apart from my passport.

Hello.

Mr Justwise. Please unban Righteousness89.

He has never broken any rule like insulting people, promoting fraud etc.... What he does however is needful. If you read his post you'd see that it's always speaking about God and repentance to God....

Many people on this forum do worse etc, and yet they aren't banned... Also be aware that Righteousness89 posts also makes us study the Bible more, and if need be we correct ourselves (including him), although he doesn't take corrections when he errs sometimes

So please unban him and let him continue his work here.... It's called Revival of heavenly consciousness in the mind of believers!

Gospelpreacher1:
If I may ask you! What is Preaching the Gospel Responsibly?
Don't go around spamming threads in the name of preaching the gospel, you don't care what the topic of that thread is about, e.g threads about ghastly road accidents.. The same way you wouldn't walk up to the sence of an accident and start telling the survivals to repent else they will end up in hell fire .

Basically if the topic is not religious in nature then preaching the gospel in that thread is irresponsible and will likely attract a ban.
Nairaland General › Re: SEUN; The Gospel Of JESUS Christ Must Be Preached by justwise(m): 2:03pm On Dec 19, 2020
As long as you preach the gospel responsibly I have no problem with it but spamming and derailing thread in the name of gospel is irresponsible.

The same bible encourage us to respect constituted authority and respect lay down rules.

I’m a Christian but I can’t stand some of you religious nut case to be honest.

Hello Justwise,

Requiremnts for the Nigeria Student Express (NSE) Stream

The Nigeria Student Express (NSE) for Canadian study permit specifically designed for Nigerians has recently been launched by IRCC with the processing duration of "20 days" against regular processing time. For the Proof of English Language Proficiency Test, you may decide to opt for either the General or Academic IELTS.

The new study permit application stream is similar with the Student Direct Stream (SDS) for selected countries like India, Senegal, China, Morocco, Pakistan, Philippines and Vietnam but with a tweak in the application requirements against the NSE. The advantage is the fast visa processing. At least, based on current observation of writing this post.

The eligible Nigerian applicants intending to apply through the NSE must meet the following requirements:

1. Apply online

2. Be a Nigerian citizen or legally reside in Nigeria

3. Have a valid admission letter from a Designated Learning Institution in Canada for a Bachelor's, Master's, Ph.D or PGD/C programs

4. Must reside outside when applying

5. Must submit a "MyBankStatement No. & Ticket Password" of $30,000 CAD of at least 6 months with a 12 months banking history

6. Have a Certificat d'acceptation du Québec (CAQ) – Only applicable to students going to Quebec

7. Undergo an upfront medical examination

8. Have a score of at least 6 in each band of Listening, Reading, Writing & Speaking or at least CLB 7 in Test d'evaluation de Francais (TEF) in each band.

N.B: you can either decide to opt for the Regular processing method or the NSE, whichever is your preference.

All the best

MyBankticket for GTB process is really simple. On your online banking platform, go to download statement. There is the option to send statement to embassy. A list of embassies are there including Canada. When you click Canada you have options to select what type of visa you are applying for and whether you are the Applicant, sponsor or guarantor.
Once you are done they send the ticket to your email that is attached to the account. You can download the ticket and attach to your application. Sometimes the email may delay but on the occasions I have used it- both the Applicant and Sponsor, it eventually dropped.

PtBlank:
Hi guys, I need some clarifications on some sections of the application form:

1. Address:
Is it advisable to use office address rather than home address? My office address is the same address on my bank statement. My duty post in often is remote areas and the office address of my organization is what I've always used as my address and for correspondence purposes.

I ask because further down that questions, they ask for how many years/days/months one has lived in that address, which suggest they might mean home address.

2. Will not giving info about parents do any harm? I can see its not a mandatory section.

3. Section about visits to other countries in the last ten years
.
I live and work outside Nigeria at the moment and I tried to include my present country of residence into the provided space (including arrival date) but its not letting me navigate away without putting the date I left the country. I can't put a date because I'm still there. Is it okay to leave out this section? Will it impact my application in any way?

4. The section on knowing where I'll be staying in the UK.

Is it okay to answer NO and then explain that I'll be renting an Airbnb for the first month while finding a suitable accommodation?

Cc
Justwise
Mimilyrics
Lagosismyhome

Thanks everyone
1. Use your house address, office is not residential address.

2. Do you have problem giving information about your parents?

3. Select the date your arrival in that country and select the date your are filling that form as the end date (not a problem as you are still living there ) you can also explain this in the section provided for an additional information.

4. Yes you can do that.
