More update will appear here.........

Overview of financial requirement

The financial requirement is that you show you have enough money to support yourself while studying in the UK. Usually you’ll need to show a set amount of money for each month of your course, for up to 9 months.

If you’re applying from overseas, or if are applying in the UK but have not been here with permission for 12 months or more, you must show that you have enough money to cover your course fees (and boarding fees, if relevant) and living costs.

You might not need to provide financial evidence if you’re from an exempt country but you should still make sure you have enough funds. UK Visas and Immigration may ask you to show that you have them.

You do not need to show funds if you are applying as a Student Union Sabbatical Officer or to study as a doctor or dentist in training.

How your finance requirement is worked out
Students

The amount of money you need to show depends on:

your course fees, which are set out on your confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) Your education provider will send you the CAS once they’ve offered you a place on a course
the length of your course
whether you have already paid some money to your sponsor
your course of study or type of student permission you are applying for
where you are studying – the amount is different if you’re studying in London
if you have paid any money to your sponsor for accommodation; up to £1,334 can be deducted from the funds you need to show
your living arrangements, if you are aged under 18
If you are allowed bring dependants (your partner or children) you will also need to show you have enough money to cover their living costs.

Child Students

The amount of money you need to show depends on:

your course fees
your boarding fees if you are boarding at the institution
the length of your course
who you are living with and where you are living
If you have children under the age of 18 who you are financially responsible for and who live with you, you are not permitted to bring them with you on the Child Student route.

Types of funds you can rely on

You can show you have enough money using:

an official financial or government sponsorship or grant
a student loan from a government, government sponsored loan company, or a regulated student loans scheme
your own money
your parent’s money (if they provide a letter confirming they agree to you using it this way)
your partner’s money if your partner is present in the UK or applying at the same time
What evidence is not accepted
The following are not accepted as evidence to show you have the required amount of money:

overdrafts
bitcoin savings
stocks and shares
pensions
bank accounts that are not regulated by the financial regulatory body in the country you’re applying from

bank accounts that don’t use electronic record keeping

Control of the funds

You, or the account holder (such as your parents or partner), must have control of the funds you are relying on.

You must show the funds have been held for 28 days, unless you are relying on a student loan or official financial sponsorship.

The bank statement(s) or evidence you use to show the funds have been held for 28 days must be from the 31 days before you submit your application. The 28 days is calculated from the date of the last transaction in the last dated bank statement.

Evidence you need to provide

If you have official sponsorship
To prove you have official financial sponsorship you need to show your reference number for confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS).

If your official financial sponsorship is not recorded on your CAS you’ll need to show a letter of confirmation from the official financial sponsor. If you are not sure ask your sponsor. The letter must show:

the date
the name of the financial sponsor
contact details of the financial sponsor
how long the sponsorship will last
the amount of money that is being given or confirmation that all of your fees and living costs will be covered
If you have a student loan
For student loans you need to show a student loan letter which:

is dated no more than 6 months before the date of application
confirms the loan is a student loan provided by either the relevant government or a government sponsored student loan company or an academic or educational loans scheme
confirms there are no conditions on release of the loan funds other than a successful application to study
confirms the amount of the loan
confirms the loan is for you
is on official stationery
confirms the funds will be available to you, or paid directly to the sponsor, before you begin your course
If you’re using your own money
If you’re not being financially sponsored or relying on a student loan, your funds can be held in any form of personal or building society account including a:

current account
deposit account
savings account
pension savings
investment account
Cash must be in an account that allows you immediate access.

Funds must have been acquired legally and if you were in the UK you must not have earned them when working illegally.

If you’re using your own money, or that of a parent or partner you’ll need to show you have the required amount of money in an account. You can provide:

bank statements
building society passbooks
certificates of deposit
a letter from your bank or building society
Your bank statement should show information like:

the date it was issued
your name (or the account holders name if it is your parent or partner)
the name of the bank or building society
balance on the account
You can provide a download of electronic bank statements as long as it has this information. You do not need to have these stamped by the bank.

We may do verification checks with your bank. If we’re unable to verify the funds your application may be refused.

Money in other currencies

If your money is held in a foreign currency this will be converted into pound sterling (£) using the spot exchange rate on OANDA for the date of the application.

The amount of money you have to show
Students
Your CAS will show your course fees.

The table below shows how much you need depending on your circumstances.

You are absolutely correct. The writer deliberately refused to explain or deliberate more on item 5 because it is a Church matter. I can tell you, thousands of Church members are monitoring responses to Item 5 , waiting to launch attacks.

The issue of Nigerian or Blacks Churches is something the members don't want anybody to discuss.

Point 5 is pretty much self explanatory... but to expand further, ... Nigerian churches abroad are toxic because everything bad about Nigeria is practised there; mediocrity, corruption, nepotism, classism, hypocrisy, wickedness, envy, arrogance etc..
The focus is neither on God, nor attaining righteousness but rather on showing off, making money and being rewarded with titles in within the organisation (church).
... This is why you'd see economically disadvantaged people who actually live in council houses, dressing like millionaires in church whilst looking down on others who are just as poor as they are.. respect and honor is given to the most superficial of things.
Couldn't like this post enough.

I think this is common in all African churches

My friend, there is no quarrel from me... I am just saying what I know... It is all there in black and white - buyer beware, so they say.

If he gets his full value back from the small claims court then that will be a great result. However, he still end getting the maximum of £50 but pay his own cost as well.

Clauses are clauses no matter how pained the person is.

I leave this topic now... No Biggie!
That is not how it works. Full value of the phone, cost of postage AND the court cost. You probably don't know this

Their policy does not worth the paper it’s written on, imagine losing an item worth £200 and Royal Mail offers you £53 ? No wonder they can afford to be careless because it cost them almost nothing at the end .

Their game is to refuse and refuse to pay until you drag their sorry backside to court then they settle out of court

It goes to show how good Royal are because you have not experienced many losses. Many items in their millions arrive at the recipient daily so we are talking about a small percentage here.

No need to get cross, rules are rules - there is a limit on compensation - try and find out for yourself.

Royal Mail Signed For can only be tracked at the start and the end - that is a simple 100% fact! I repeat, it is a fact!

Special Delivery and Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 are the guy trackable items - go find out!

Only Special Delivery Items are scanned at every point including mail centred and delivery offices. Yes, your postman should scan everything including Signed For and even ordinary items with 2D QRs but that does not always happen. But bevt customers have received their items, everyone is happy except the small percentage.

Now if you are talking about something sent recently then the quality of service will be lower because of unprecedented volumes and use of many temporary and agency staff. It might have been stolen or lost along the way - it happens!

If your item is not special delivery, it might be at the bottom of that huge pile.

Good luck with your law suit!
Bros all these you are saying is not my business, i sent an item, paid and i want it delivered. If my item is lost i want the value of the item paid and NOT Royal mail value. I will get that money including the cost of court case no matter how long it takes.
Travel › Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by justwise(mod): 11:34am On Dec 22, 2020
chrisj2:
I am sorry to bust this bubble about Royal Mail Signed for item: you post them at the post office, yes; they have a tracking number and are trackable... However, it is treated just like any other first class item except for the signature obtained when delivered.

So if your item goes missing after posting, there is no way of tracking it to anywhere or knowing where it is.

Royal Mail carry millions of items and it is natural that things will go missing for whatever reasons but you will find it is just a small percentage.

Never send item of value including your certificate, money, jewellery and so on by Signed For; it has to be sent by Special Delivery where it is trackable at every point of stop and compensation is much higher.

I am surprised that Justwise of all people will send a phone even if it secondhand iPhone by Signed For; he should have known better.
There is maximum compensation for Signed For item (maybe £50+). There is also a maximum for Special Delivery Item close to £2500 or so.

The Court action will not change the rules because the customer should know the rules before using the service. Pity!
I’m not sure you know what you are talking about, items sent through Royal Mail or other companies like that are trackable especially when you printout the shipping label from eBay, it contains all the details about that item and the buyer and places that item has been when you post it.

Postman will not leave a depot with unspecified number of items or without scanning those items to March delivery post code.

Every single item is trackable whether they want to do that is another topic.

Your comment about sending items with special delivery shows how little you know about selling on eBay or making profit through online business.

If you list item on eBay with higher cost of delivery then your chances of selling that item is slimmer because a lot of seller will charger a lot less for delivery the same item .

I sold all sorts of items on eBay and never for once used special delivery and they all get delivered.

Last year I sold a trainer on eBay and the item did not arrive after 3wks. The buyer sent me an email telling me that he will chase the item because he is a postman as well but on holiday.

When he went back to work he tracked the item and got it delivered .

Regarding to court case? We will see how it goes.

!!!!!!!. Adding a few of these for emphasis. Royal Mail folks have a lot of sticky fingered people working for them. If whatever you are sending is important or has value, quietly use special tracked/signed service. Trust me I’ve learnt from the things I’ve suffered. In hard cash sad
I sold my old iphone 7+ on Ebay the buyer paid for 1st class but i sent with 1st class signed for, the buyer waited for a month the item did not arrive, i contacted Royal Mail several times but i did not get a positive result.

The buyer reported to Ebay and Ebay decided that i have to refund him and i did.

i Made a claim to Royal Mail they replied with an apology and a cheque worth less than half of the actual price of the item.

I rejected it and sent them an email requesting for the full value of my item, they replied saying they can not pay more than that.

I have taken them to small claim court to get my money paid in full and i will not stop until they pay the full cost of that phone.

No one will steal your mails or letters. I think you or your housemates must have put in the wrong postcode or addresses.
To always confirm if your address is correct with Royal Mail. Always check this Royal Mail link.

You can actually zoom into any address just as google maps works. Apparently this is what Royal Mail uses.
Of course that happens a lot..i mean a lot!

Hi guys,

Please how do I follow up with or track my NI? I am trying to call them, it’s over 50mins now, with no response from their end. It seems I am just waiting in futility.

It seems a thief has been stealing people’s letters in my house. Some of the housemates have complained of not receiving their letters.

I was supposed to have received my DBS & NI by now, but alas, there are no where to be found. I have requested for a DBS reprint and need to follow up with the NI as a classmate I submitted my application 1week before her forms came just informed me that she received her NI this morning.

Advices and suggestions are most welcome, have a nice day ahead.
I think there is an increase in NI fraud now, a friend just told me about a call she received today from someone telling her that her NI was used for fraud, she stupidly gave the caller her full name and NI. She is not panicking not knowing what the info will be used for.

Mine stopped working a while ago, it keeps saying wrong pin/create a pin.

And after contacting GTB they directed me to NRN department which is another story.

My advice for everyone get a token before leaving naija
I finally got this done, the process is not what I will advise my enemies to go through.

They credit naira, I used them this morning when I noticed that they are giving 621 for a £, and the money has arrived in my Nigerian bank account.
